@Snoopy, What then is the settings you are using as shown on the page above? Abi na only you want to enjoy? ![]() You can send into my box ; cecegorz{}yahoo.com |
I should have bailed out really, but i got hooked for the rest of the month. No wonder they only do calender months, once you're in, you can't get out till month end. I just can't wait for the month to end. ![]() |
^^^ Opera doesn't connect at all. device browser is as epileptic as NEPA Bolt is the only one i can use reasonably with it's own failure points too. The bad thing about this is that when i have a link in a mail or tweet, clicking on it takes you straight to the device browser, instead of giving you option to chose a preferred one, i know MTN does that the last time i was on their network. |
^^^ All to no avail. These Apache Indians are really up to no good. |
@TCD, You are right on the APN for the BB device. But the corresponding profile setting on the desktop manager is what i need. As shown on this page;
|
@Snoopy, pls share with me the current profile settings for the desktop mgr and the BB APN. I was connecting with Zain last year, but i guess Airtel messed with the settings. PM me cecegorz{}yahoo.com |
Viper, How is it now, are you on? I guess this their price slash is at the expense of quality service, it took Airtel 5 good days to get me active, the service thereafter is something else. These guys are just plain criminals |
Guys, Anybody on Airtel able to connect BB to lappy and browse on the BIS bundle without extra wap charges should please help me with the current settings. It was the only reason i went live on Airtel not knowing they've changed the settings. |
TCD:You are right bro, i was on MTN last year and it was pretty much better, but connecting to lappy was not possible. The attraction to Zain was that as at last year, i could tether my BB to the laptop using the DM profile settings. Since Airtel do only monthly subscription, i didn't have any opportunity to test run the service first. Now i can't even connect to laptop again, went to their shop and they told me it cannot be done, that i should buy a data card for my lappy. Can you imagine ![]() Any body that can connect to lappy on any network should let me know. Provided they don't charge outside the BIS plan. |
Can this go for 40k? You can sell the charger ![]() |
Mcleo007:Before you waste your money this january, see this https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-582882.0.html |
Mcleo007:Airtel/Zain is the worst place you can try BIS for now. I don't know why this browser is not allowing me to paste a link of my encounter with them here. Check on Phones homepage, you'll see BIS Rip Off topic.
link=topic=398993.msg7497904#msg7497904 date=1294616634] The BlackBerry Desktop Manager has the ability to tether, just key in the configuration (APN, username & PW) and you're good to go. -[n3rve]
Pls can you tether on Airtel, because i've tried several profile settings that is not working. Zain was working for me perfectly last year. |
I want to believe that the recent slash in price of BIS across networks has come with a massive rip-off of customers. If you have been on BIS/BES prior to this recent price-war, you will believe with me that what they have actually done is to strip down some services that subscribers should have enjoyed ordinarily, in addition to quality of service too dropping badly. I itemized a few issues bordering on degraded services. 1.It took Airtel five (5) good days to get me activated, after payment for this January, thereafter, it has been poor services all through. 2.All the 3rd party browsers (Opera, Bolt, etc) which are far better than the device browser are not working. 3.I can no longer connect the BB to my laptop inorder to browse as i used to do on Zain last year. 4.most times when i click on a link in a tweet, the browser starts to launch the page but drops off before the page opens. 5.You send a PIN chat and it arrives hours later like SMS message With all these failure points, i think we are just paying for nothing theses days, even the NOKIA 1k/mth internet option seems to be a better proposition these days. How do we tackle these guys to get real value for money? what's your network and how has it been lately, service wise. |
Chybyk, na wa for una assignments when my own school never even start. ![]() Have you been attending? Drop me your digits now? I have marathon trainings this wkend, will try and be in, upper wkend. My mail: cecegorz{}yahoo.com. |
Oh Yjessss! First, i decided to bone certifications for a while and go for a real degree. Got admitted to UNILAG for MIT ( never mind that i refused to start lectures in december, will be starting this saturday) Secondly, moved up from techy IT to the business side of the field. I am loving it in 2011, reaching for greater heights, especially PROMOTION!!! |
@OP Let's get this straight sweet heart. Call center jobs are dead end jobs, sorry for folks working there right now. Especially where yours is a contract term, it's just like note counters/tellers in the banking industry, there is no opportunity to move you up in to the company's staff roles unless you go and do aptitude/interview afresh (that's if you are qualified). In fact, you are not technically a staff of Airtel, no benefits no allowances, it's pay as you go. I will suggest you go for the Access offer while it lasts, don't look at the 30k/mth you will get paid during your 4months training, are you aware that if Access publishes today, that people should come and pay 500k for the training, and then get employment letter afterwards, you might not get a chance! The trainings are to season you up so that you will hit the ground running, once you resume work. And then you have the real opportunity to grow and aspire to be whatever you want, you can even decide to go back to Airtel with your years of experience and bid for a better grade/pay. Finally, though, it's your call. ![]()
Airtel pays 74k wid 24k airtime.
What do you do with 24k airtime in a month, they shd give those kids 5k max and moneytise d rest now ![]() |
Hey guys, this is a new dawn! Happy new year y'all Olori oko got the new year cracking with the first ever official mail of the year, early this morning. The much expected pepper don rest ![]() |
The good old Yeast is still there, though the taste can be something else, i actually bought one large tin since last year but the taste won't let me use it. |
^^^ Aaah haaa! At least i set the ball rolling by moving the motion. Criz, had really abandoned her baby. Come back ma'am, it's time to jubiliate. |
^^^ Paid well for doing what exactly? Most of them are already feeding fat on the scourge of darkness! How can the govt be paying over 47,000 staff for generating btw 2 and 3MW of electricity daily. No private company will accept that joke. They can rant all they want but their end has come. We must light up Nigeria, whatever it takes! |
@TKB, Omo u got taste, I dey feel that your machine ¤ that pool side too will make a good get together joint for awon boiz ¤ |
oyb:Hope you didn't poach his love interest ![]() @AJ, Great topic you raised here because so much seems to be discussed about the 'Bosses' all the time. In as much as we are humans that cannot be pinned down to a single behavioural pattern, after reminiscing on my attitudes towards bosses all my working life, I think if you remove the part "So they either manipulate, pander to, please, humour, or in some extreme cases, even sleep with their bosses as required, so long as the boss holds up their end", i will be comfortable in A. I don't get too close to my bosses and i still always get whatever i want, what i know is that i always show them genuine love, take genuine interest in their visions and their families, never boot licking. |
^^^ So much so for your sanity, brov. Can you highlight any single abusive sentence in my write up? Any way let me not be dragged into your distraction. The government have seen that all their efforts to build up energy plants themselves have ended up white elephant projects with all the voted billions ending up in private pockets. Why will they continue to go in circles when they can easily privatise and hands off to companies that will invest their own money and demand accountability ![]() Let the private companies do their feasibilty studies and decide the type of plant to build, coal powered or hydro, based on the region they are building. We all are old enough to see that our govt are not capable on delivering on multi billion naira projects without spending endless man-hours and more money on probes and counter probes. Look at the MMIA2 terminal building, no matter what people may argue about it, at least we have the infrastructure standing in record time due to private effort, the govt couldn't have delivered that project in 15 years! even at that, the contract will have been awarded, cancelled and re-awarded severally. The only thing you can accuse private companies of will be higher cost when they start delivering, but aren't we all paying currently without getting anything? In my area for example, we have not had a cummulative 1 month of supply in this 12 month 2010 and people pay exaggerarted bills every month Now, for me that use prepaid meter, i am saved from their exploitation as the 200units i bought since June is still very much intact.Whether it is my father or brother that will lose his job inorder to get this sector right, it is worth it, let's stop being emotional on this issue. |
@All As we leave the office today to hit the holidays, let's remember that troubles never go on holidays. Drive carefully and eat/drink in moderation, especially, 'don't drive, drunk' I will like to have y'all back in good shape as we resume. P.S. AS i drove out of the street to work this morning, i saw a beautiful Benz C200 flatened out by an electric pole just by my junction, dude probably started the holidays wild and early and together with his prized Benz, ended up a broken pieces. It won't be our portion in Jesus name ![]() MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS! |
^^^ Honestly if you are my relative and involved in this kind of shenanigan, i will promptly disown you. I don't suffer crooks gladly. You have a system and a process that does not deliver any single value to the customers that pay their hard earned money for it on one hand, and somebody also claims that people lose their lives running the warped system. Is it not rational to bring about process re-engineering that will take care of these two critical points, why will any sane human being still be holding out a fighting hand ![]() |
You had the boldness to try even though you failed, you conquered the fear of getting started. All of us here are all cyber tigers, nibbling at the modern day politicians and profligate leaders. We have not enough liver to lift a finger to fight Whether you die now, or live a while longer, you know the end is definitely near. The world knows you are a brave Soul! |
^^^ yeah, who says motherless babies can't be born with golden spoons ![]() |
petaling:We are not interested in their matyredom that brews complete darkness over the nation,( sounds so much like NITEL workers chant prior to 2001). That's the more reason they should go back to their villages and live happily ever after in the huts. ![]() Brov, this is 21st century, life activities practically depend on equipments and gadgets that require constant electricity, why keep on dying on the pole for nothing ![]() You are saying that government have not been investing right? That's what they want to do, hands off to the private businesses that can run it like the MTNs and Glos of the telecomms world. Driving themselves hard to provide the best infrastructure in providing efficiency in the midst of competition. We won't need any other power probe commitee when private companies are running it, all we will be hearing is continual service improvement. |
medjai:I wish Me i dey office every day apart from the official public hols. |
U mean people really fall for this in Nigeria ![]() You paid for a product you didn't see, advertised by someone you've never seen Sorry, but YOU ARE DUMBER THAN YOU EVER THINK ![]() Anyway, if you have proofs of this transaction, you can trace his physical address and full names through the bank, assuming they properly documented their KYC. Show them the phone number he used to communicate with you, if it matches the one in his KYC documents, you will have a good case. All da best! |
