testesterone is a chemical hormone for christsake. has nothing to do with experience or naivety. It is biology. There are lots of teenagers out there raised in good families who have good discipline and don't act in sexually perverse ways but you can still tell that they are chock full of hormones at a certain age. This is a graph of testesterone levels in males. as you can see the highest point on the graph is 18yrs old but I would think that it's even higher at 17yrs. that is not represented in the graph though.
It drops sharply after that.

Below is a picture I took at the famous Onitsha Main Market. From the picture one can see that it is a world class massive market with television sets and ceiling fans adorning various lines. Haven't seen such organized and landscaped market elsewhere, a market that is paved all round without any mud. I took this picture last weekend, I was in the market to do some shopping. I have not been to Onitsha main market, but on getting there I saw young men and women gainfully employed in their respective business. Everybody is so busy, that there no time to gossip.

your "testosterone versus estrogen" argument is very flawed
The couple is middle age or older. which means that their hormones should be balanced off. a man's testosterone plummets as he gets older while a woman's estrogen plummets as she gets older (which is why she goes into menopause). Males and females also have varying levels of the hormones. ex. a slimmer or athletic woman will generally have more testosterone than a heavier one. this is why birth control (estrogen pills) make u fat and lose interest in sex.
For a man (assuming he is no longer in puberty or early 20s) who is not particularly muscular or ripped, I have no reason to believe that he has a high level of testosterone. In fact, he might have increased estrogen esp if he is starting to get flabby and grow man boobs. viagra was developed for a reason. a man doesn't have a teenager's sex drive after a certain age.

for a man who is faithful to his wife, his testosterone starts to go down as soon as his wife is pregnant. and it goes down lower with the arrival of the baby!! assuming he actually lives in the house with his family and hangs around them. This has no effect if the man is absent from the home.

Why is this news on the web, is what puzzles me?
Firstly, as many good people have pointed out, the dear professor has spent ALL his formative years abroad, in their system, so he really actually climbed the ladder to the position he occupies today. Please let us remember that in civilized countries, these positions are not like the way they are in Nigeria where the civil service is full of infighting and killing, and where people do not actually have room to realize their potential, in the absence of a godfather, "connections", or an Okija shrine subscription. Elections to the position of VC in Niaja are do or die affairs. I'm willing to bet that it was not so in the University that has just promoted this gentleman.

Secondly, the position in question. In Nigeria, you become a VC, then you shut down the nearest cathedral/mosque/Pentecostal worship center in your town for a huge "thanksgiving" service to show off your newly-acquired wealth and train of official cars. Abroad, nobody even knows the name of the university president or vice chancellor, or whatever the head of the institution is called. Except for in the high profile schools, their salaries, like that of the U.S president also, can be earned by a suitably experienced doctor or whizz kid IT guy. So even though Prof. Adesida has acheived something wonderful by the standards of our bent, hopeless society, in the society he is living in he has done no more than to acheive his due.

I have a question and need your help in finding out the solution. I got some yams from this lady at the supermarket. I'm not very experienced in buying yams. How can you tell if the yam is bad?
