KingEbukasBlog: Logical fallacy , denial of the antecedent . It goes thus : A implies B, B is false, therefore A is false.
If God exists he will prove himself and respond through miracles and answered prayers . But if God does not respond through miracles and answered prayers , then He does not exist
Truth : God can choose not to respond and it does not imply He does not exist . following your logic, why didn't you also say the universe can exist and does not imply god exists. Meanwhile this got to do with gods existence. He surely gonna prove me wrong like he did in the days of Elijah. Have you lost your faith? Try the practical first na make e remain say god no answer. If a prayer of a sinner is an abomination, you can ask your pastor for support. No you see talk is cheap. Religion is about talk and no practical proof of god. If you can't do this, then I have gone a long way to prove your god doesn't exist |

butterflylion: You are actually the one being slippery. How can you insist on presenting facts and yet want me to use my faith to show you the facts you claim to have.
This is how facts are gotten: Get born again and spirit filled and then look for someone whom you compassionately want to be healed or whom you genuinely desire God's touch to be upon (controlled environment) pray via faith and with deep desire for God's touch and when God fails you have your proof.
My evidence would prove nothing to you if you do not have your own which is where your personal facts come in. So where are they? too much talk. Face the practical or accept your god is a non existing dummy |

Do you even have any idea what it took Jesus to do before mankind got offered salvation? Do you even know what being a Christian is all about and how one becomes it?
So God should convert you due to mockery when you have full knowledge of the intent of your words? In the days of ignorance God winked...... You ogbeni are not ignorant. Repentance is you initiating a genuine change and God approving and not the other way round.
Do you see how cowardly you sound? I have hereby proved your god doesn't exist. It is that simple! |

KingEbukasBlog, butterflylion, Ermacc OK, I want to prove now your god doesn't exist. We'll make this practical cos talk is cheap. I will give you a practical task, while you give me a practical task. But I will use the same method used by Elijah in your bible to prove Baal does not exist. First, one of the proof of your god's existence is through miracles and answered prayers. TASK I really don't want to be an atheist again. Can you both just pray to your god. The god that hardened pharaohs heart. The god that answers by fire to just do a simple task by converting my heart and maybe every other atheists on nairaland. RESULT If by tomorrow, I become a theist again, your god exists. Else, he also exists but in your fantasies. Start calling your god. Kikikikikikikiki |

When I was a christian, there was this friend I later hated so much due to his atheistic posts on Facebook. Sometimes I use to confront him via private messages but he would just ignore me, maybe cos we use to be close friends until we parted ways. He was in fact a nuisance to me on Facebook back then. But today, I think I hate my friend more for ignoring me and not showing me the way, thus allowing me to wallow longer in religious delusion. Each time I go to my Facebook timeline to see all my religious and Bible quotes, I feel ashamed of myself |

He doesn't believe in an omnipotent God that would rely on people with less than intelligent thinking like yourself to speak for Him; this I strongly agree with.
Another reason I always say your comprehension ability leaves much to be desired. He actually said that because Zuckerberg is limited, being human and all, the need for other media as a means of educating us about him can be excused. Basic comprehension is a problem for u. There is no way u are a doctor.
No doesn't feel so. He argues that ur god, the one u believe in, has to be imaginary because considering he has all the unlimited power u ascribe to him, how come he relies on u of all people, one of the most stupid people I know, to speak for him when he could use that power to convince everyone himself. He even gave an example of how Zuckerberg can clarify misconceptions about himself when the need arises.
After explaining how to read and comprehend to u, tell me how u came by ur own understanding of Dalaman's argument. Jeez no one can be this stupid. No one. Chai! Brutality!!! |

did not eating the fruit make man disobey? then if they hadn't eat the fruit, in what way did they disobey God?
you are probably intuiting that temptation is sin in the course of eve being tempted No what I'm saying is that Adam and Eve are inclined to disobey god in every other occasion asides eating the fruit. Meaning disobedience is already borne in on them by default |

MuttleyLaff: It's you who first brought this up with this remark: ''Why then do Christians say god created man perfect...'' so I challenged you, to reproduce here, anywhere from the bible, where and at any time, God said He ever, created man perfect Perfect, in relation to man, only began to be used in the NT The quest to be a perfect man, the advice to aspire to be a perfect man are NT stuff, never and not OT, my friend.
Whatever floats your boat.
Its the latter (i.e. disobedience) with no defined unwelcome, unpleasant and painful or harmful outcome
It is unlike the disobedience of the command not to eat the fruit that had a defined unwelcome, unpleasant and painful or harmful consequence of death
Disobediences, dont all necessarily have consequences Are you a bad person? Else you tell me why a not-a-bad-person-that-you-are should have that tendency of doing bad by default? All the time, people do bad things, but that dont necessarily mean they are bad people
Do you buy a perfect electrics bulb at all? Do perfect electric bulbs forever remain perfect?
It's impossible for you to reproduce here, anywhere from the bible, where and at any time, God explicitly said, He created man perfect because God knew man is a house of cards that will need strengthening and before Adam, God already had in place a warranty plan
Affirmative, it is disobedience to God's command that made man eat the fruit and death is the consequence of eating the fruit. Period
If disobedience precedes death, why would death bring about disobedience?
What brought about the disobedience were 3 things: #1 - fruit that was good to eat, #2 - nice to look at, and #3 - desirable for making someone wise
Affirmative. The second man is, case in point and a testament to this fact and truth You are busy confusing yourself until you gave me the answer I needed. Thanks. I'm glad you agreed with the bolded Disobedience (sinful nature) of man made man eat the fruit. Meaning the concept of original sin is flawed. It wasn't actually the fruit that brought about a sinful world. Adam eating the fruit or not, that sinful nature is already in him. Lol, because I said Christians said god created man perfect, now you want to deny that just to win an argument. Even asking me to give a bible quotation on that. Look above at all the extra biblical explanation you gave without any quotation. You even spoke to the extent I wondered if god now has a nairaland account. I even wanted to ask if you are the Yahweh I will not be surprise if tomorrow you deny all the pointless extra biblical explanation you gave up there just like you have denied that you guys said god created man perfect |

teamf: How God Saved Me From Been Electrocuted today
I had a shocking, terrifying and closed to death experience today but Almighty still counted me among the living pls join me in appreciating God.
It happens that no supply of water in my area for past few days now, seem I forgot to turn off the water tap, to cut the story short I came back this night and discovered my house has turned to a river I only needed a canoe to paddle to the cabinet side the terrifying thing here is that I discovered that the socket and Stabilizer for the refrigerator had also been covered With water while I was still in the water, I was only saved because thrs was no light at that moment. I would have got Electrocuted today but I was favoured don't know how or why but I knew terrible thing would have happened. But the first thing I did was to quickly rushed out and switch off the entire light to the house. pls always turn off the Taps in the house and Switch off the entire light from supplying box. Always on light first before you step in into any where. In my case I entered with my phone instead of brighter light. Be observant . All thanks to my wonderful friend helped in parking things out All thanks to NEPA/IBDC for not supplying electricity
I decided to share this because it may save entire family somewhere somehow. You said you were only saved because there was no power supply. You were also thanking NEPA at the same time. How is god now involved in this? By the way, why advise to always turn off switch when god will always be there to do the needful? Or you don't trust him anymore? Just leave that switch always ON man. It is still the same people that will help you thank god today that will also say "god knows best...god gives and god takes...." when it happens. |

Wilgrea7: the question should be.. “was man created with freewill?" if yes, then why did he have to eat a fruit to tell him the difference between good and bad? if he could do what he wanted without any orientation of whether it is good or bad.. does that constitute as freewill? if man was not created with freewill, and he did not know the difference between wrong and right.. then how did he know that he was not supposed to eat the fruit and that eating the fruit was wrong? if he didn't know that eating the fruit was wrong because he didn't know the difference between good and bad, why then was he punished? and if he knew it was wrong, then doesn't that mean that he knew the difference between right and wrong and should not need any fruit to reveal it to him? This is another great point! Ken4christ, GoodMuyis, MuttleyLaff, oya come answer this also |
Christianity Etc › Re: Man Was Inclined To Committing Sin Even Before Eating The Forbidden Fruit by chemystery(op): 9:46am On Aug 06, 2017 |
Ken4Christ: Op, you are wrong. Man was created perfect. But he had the opportunity to prove his loyalty to God but failed the test.
However, Jesus, the last Adam came to prove it is possible to overcome temptation. He was tempted the same way the first Adam was but never fell.
Jesus came to restore back what man lost in the Garden of Eden. And one day, a new earth will be created that life will go on as originally planned by God even in greater glory. If man was created perfect why did he succumb to a mere temptation of eating fruit? Even Satan was created perfect, yet he rebelled against god. A man that could succumb to temptation and disobedience by default and an angel that could rebel against god. Tell me, what sort of perfection are you talking about here? |

If Adam and Eve had not eaten the fruit: Integrity would have being passed as trait, which shows that Man had passed integrity test SIMPLE
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. - Genesis 18:19 If they had passed the integrity test, what would happen if Satan comes again to tempt them? GoodMuyis: MuttleyLaff Welcome back, where you haff dey?
chemystery the fruit of the three of life is meant to be eaten, but the command not to eat the fruit is an integrity test to man's freewill.
Even angels rebel against God, so what is man that was created with freewill not to be tested for integrity? It means god never trusted what he created. It means man have that tendency to either do good or evil. It means the world will still be sinful whether man ate the fruit or not. Tell me what would have stopped Cain from killing Abel if Adam and Eve had not eaten the fruit, and Satan had tempted Cain since there is that freewill to do good or evil |
