purem: I don't think there is future anywhere except the one we create. Often times people talk about future and sit around doing nothing.
Can the future we hope for really come to us?
Someone once said "When I look at the front I can't seem to see any future waiting for me, it seems more like am going to create it and I don't know how to go about that.
Am just too tired and fed up to be living like this."
So guys what do you think about this future thing?
Coz some people are just waiting for the future to come just like waiting for Jesus Christ to come which can never happen

Wow, what does atheists call intelligence sef? hehehehe, so you are saying your god cannot do this? Tell me lemme know if I should give another test |

How can a human being first deny an actual comment he made and then in the same breath accept that he made it but placed it under "slip of tongue" if such a person isn't confused?
Your horns are growing! no longer dropping of faith as excuse. Its now denial. Bro, your god failed his existences test woefully. Go and rest like your goons are already doing. |

Remember I told you on that same thread that your confusion has horns? Well that statement hasn't changed. When I said drop you faith, I quoted and was referring to you alone but I gave a generally practical where I quoted you and several others I never told to drop their faith. Also I never stated in the practical that faith should be dropped. Other guys ran from the test with no excuse. But you, after looking left and right and nothing to hold on to, chose to inherit a statement from another discussion to be related with entirely another discussion which have to do with people that were not present or aware or concerned with the previous discussion. Smart try bro. I give it to you. OK sorry now, my bad. That was a slip of tongue. Oya use your faith this time and do the practical. |

Christianity Etc › Re: How To Be An Atheist by chemystery: 12:23pm On Aug 14, 2017 |
In my opinion, superstitious believes are not to be respected in anyway. Especially the harmful ones. Such as those making people believe sacrifice of human parts can bring wealth (also known as ritual killing), those involving fraud and extortion (tithing and offerings), those involving believe that prayer will give you job and make you pass exams against hardworking, that a car can travel for miles with an empty petrol tank, etc.
If not accepting any of these is arrogance. Then I'm glad being arrogant |
Christianity Etc › Re: How To Be An Atheist by chemystery: 12:13pm On Aug 14, 2017 |
purem: Because you are too desperate I will just jump to number 10
(10) RESPECT THE BELIEVES OF OTHERS
Let your rationality guide you, but do not let it lead you astray. Following a religion does not make anyone superior, nor does your atheism make you superior to anyone. Atheism has no dogma. Don't be fanatical when discussing your beliefs with others, and try not to be pretentious. It's fine to be passionate about your beliefs, but there is no need to dismiss people for their methods of creating meaning. An atheist respecting the beliefs of religious people is no different than a Jewish person respecting a Catholic's views. Remember that their views cannot be proved or disproved. If someone attacks with their opinions, you have every right to defend your decision. Consider, however, whether it will help either of you to argue about your difference in belief. Consider whether either of you is actually going to change his or her stance on the subject If you take your own advise, you won't be bashing otematum. Bros align! |

I have used up all means known to me including, bathing hot water, applying aboniki after bath, etc. I brought this to nairaland believing to get a lasting solution. Thank you my good people. Your condition is called aquagenic pruritus. Just google for a cure, you might get a solution. I use to suffer from this in the past. I tried the cure I got from google. hopefulLandlord: To answer OP, all theists can claim is number 2 and you've made it useless and rightly so
Too often, people act like faith is a virtue--as if believing something in the absence of evidence is an admirable quality that more should aspire to. This is disastrous for the future of civilization. Faith is, at best, an emergency backup option for when real knowledge--the best way to address questions and reach conclusions--is unavailable. It's a spare tire; nowhere near as good as the real thing, but sometimes necessary in emergencies. It should never be the preferred choice. i'm surprised though. They all seem to be avoiding this thread like plague. |

Christianity Etc › How Do You Differentiate A True God From An Invented God? by chemystery(op): 9:20am On Aug 12, 2017*. Modified: 5:59pm On Nov 13, 2017 |
Everyone knows all gods cannot be real Therefore some or all gods must be fake
Some believers are convince through faith. Faith works for all gods Therefore, faith works for fake gods
Some believers are inspired by their holy book. All religion are inspired by their holy book Therefore, fake holy book can be inspiring
Some believers are convinced by their love of god. Many different god are loved by believers. Therefore you can love a fake god
Some believers are convinced their prayers are answered. All gods are believed to answer prayers Therefore, fake gods answer prayers
Some believers believe their god protect and watch over them. All gods protect and watch over believers Therefore, fake gods watch and protect believers
With all these, how then do you differentiate a true god from an invented god? |

Just like all deist and agnostics, he is only finding it difficult and challenging adapting to change. It took me 5 good years from this stage to atheism.
