You sure made interesting observations which right now is a hot subject among some Eckists. Iran has some of the spiritually advances Souls on earth. The matter had caused a division of some sorts in especially Iran which has a very high number of Eckists. Eckankar flourished there so much that seminars, book fares etc were held openly by Iranians.

This went underground after Eckankar's tag by Paul as "The Science of Soul Travel" was changed to the "Religion of the Light and Sound of God" by the current leader. The Iranian government rounded up anyone practicing that just because of the "religion" in the tag, they would not have any other religion other than Islam. This saw a lot of imprisonment and executions in Iran.

The tag had now been changed to the "Path of Spiritual Freedom" which really represents the mainstay of the teachings.

Talking about Paul refusing, there was about 2- 3 things involved. After the teachings were revoked from the open during the time the church used deadly means to thwart truth or any spiritual information which was threat to the existence of the church as ruling system, the pure teachings and ways of the Holy Spirit went underground and latter became scattered and later lost or reduced to some of the crude rituals, practices, religions and dogmas you have circulating now in almost all of the place like the music or ringing of bells in church, witchcraft, sorcery, yoga, scriptures, water baptism, oracles, fortune telling, astral projection, cultures, doctrines etc.

Paul was to gather these teachings, remove the cultural trappings or outright distortions as the case may be and then restore them to their original or purer states and so on.
He also has to gather these teachings under one roof. This means a physical organization was necessary, but then to run an organization, you have to pay taxes...so tax and government regulation was what Paul beat by registering it as a religion. This was the last resort for him and a good one really because taxes were almost grounding him. This is yet the case even now.

Who would have thought the power of the Holy Spirit needed grounding (as in electrical engineering)? On and for Terra (earth), the temple of ECK in Chanhassen Minnesota USA plays that part whether this is recognized or not. Same role anyone who is the spiritual leader of Eckankar plays. The present one was a Lutheran pastor in the making before his arrest like Saul in the Bible. The qualifier is always the purest love for God and creation, not religion. He can give anyone the pure water of the Holy Spirit--not him as a person though, but as the primary tool of the ECK, the Holy Spirit. This means unlike yoga, Eckankar needs the buildings and the leaders.

Eckankar originally is not a religion, even now. It is a name of a Practice, just like you have Yoga Kungfu, skydiving etc. When Paul reestablished the teachings, he didn't run it as a religion either till the USA policies necessitated Eckankar be registered as a Not for profit organization and then later as a religion...for the books.

What then is Eckankar? It is reestablishing man's connection with the Holy Spirit which we know manifests as light or sound towards self-realization (as a divine spark) and unto God-realization. The practice had been known with so many names and was originally from the planet Venus.

There had been over 900 line of an unbroken chain of Living ECK Masters (Spiritual Leaders) since man migrated to earth. Some where popular like Pythagoras, Shams (teacher of Rumi the Persian poet), Rumi, Saint Francis of Asisi and others who worked with only a handful of students who were ready and sometimes with a large crowd.

As you can see, Rumi and Shams are Muslims, Saint Francis of Asisi a Catholic... The catch then about Eckankar is your mastery of the ways of the Holy Spirit regardless of your religion, and also how much detached Love you can generate amidst negativity.

The teachings of Eckankar rather focus on people awakening to their true identities as Souls than converting people. The teachings of Eckankar are not really the teachings of Eckankar any more than the sun worshipers do not own the sun.

A prayer warrior from Mountain of Fire just joined after push came to shove for her spiritually. She was merely given the HU to sing...if she was to go back to Christianity, she won't fit in anymore having experienced heaven firsthand, rather than only reading and being told about it.

They had been here since way back, transporting themselves and people in "chariots of fire" and "flying horses"...

This will rattle most of the religions who had took these guys for God. This however does not mean there is no EXISTENCE out there which should rightfully bear the "God" designation, the discovery by a section of renegade physicists that the universe and everything in it is a unity and actually a conscious entity together with the understanding of this state will take us closer in scratching the surface of grasping 'God'.

That a portion of our brothers existing in other planets within our Galaxy could re-engineer Man into what it is now, build space crafts spanning over 600km, shine so bright that one can't view them with the eyes, etc and yet are not even up to the level of a tiny atom of the magnitude of 'GOD' says we, together with these "God" or "Gods" have not scratched the surface.

This is because you are inside a box. Christianicity makes you so. Should you have been broadened enough, you would have seen that l addressed your assertions regarding God keeping books through men and that the book is all of God's word. Books have their place...

You once again you kept dwelling on the christianic mentality that who ever asked his word be written on a stone was actually God. You want to broaden your concept of God. God as presented in Christianity has human characteristics. Indeed someone who had once walked the face of the Earth and who took interest in the Middle Easterners and by our standards must have been God...but is that so?

What l needed you to see is truth cannot be captured in a book, God's word cannot be captured in a book, any book. A multimedia device like a computer perhaps may do a better job. This is physics 101. To assert that God's word had been signed and sealed in a certain book is such a religious folly. Most of what you have as "God's word" was actually the words of certain folks whom mankind presumed to be God or Gods.

It will interest you to know there are more than one God which the Bible presented. The one who regretted creating man and who also has a favorite tribe and then the one Jesus referred to as "My father" and maybe more.

This does not mean there are no compilations that contain all the masoretic scrolls, but one thing you can't deny is that God himself wanted history, stories, and his word , put down in writing for generations upon generations to read.

So if God loves all of these written down. What is the guarantee that it was all contained in the Bible? If l present "his words" written in another Masonic book (for instance), will Christians accept it? Can you now see the 'Dilemma of Christianity'?

Christians love to quote a certain part of it ..."do not add or subtract to what is written in this book...", And then generalize it to the whole book known as the Bible. To this day, this part of the Bible (and some others) is not even 'Christian'. Note that the BoR as you have it is not even complete owing to the editors removing certain parts of the text due to its 'vagueness' in their times. Funny enough, the person responsible for giving John these Revelations in the island of Pathmos is very much accessible and well known in certain quarters.

The torah was first pieced together by Ezra the scribe, he was picked as a kind of leader after the Greeks conquered Israel.

When they said "Let's make man in our image", it was actually a bio engineering venture. Do not pin is down to the relative wisdom and ignorance of the olden day's people.

Exactly what l was saying. That book belonged to the Jews. l suppose Christianity is different from Judaism. Christians 'defend' truth with scriptures, where did God sanctioned the almagamation of the Torah into Christianity? Talking about courses in Christian History, did you consider a course in the history of the Torah itself? Did God inspire it too? Why was it necessary for Christians if not that there was need to include stories of our purported origin?

Understand that my grouse with some of you Christians is coming from statement of people like oladeboo as in when he mentioned something in the lines of not believing "fallible sinners"(scientists). You make it seem like the Bible was one infallible document of facts of itself and Christians enjoy Monopoly of understanding or wisdom. An average person like this cannot think outside the minutest of the box of truth that the Bible or any other book is.

Do you know that scientists have even unravelled most of the stories of the bible beyond what some of the uninformed writers of the Bible envisaged?

Consider the case of Galileo who was made to suffer from being a scientist of his time as against the understanding of the editors of what you now have as the bible, only recently the body of the organization responsible for your bible apologized for Galileo.
