RomanceRe: Why I Don't See Myself Doing Church Wedding Party As Being Celebrated Today by Childfree: 8:14pm On Aug 18, 2023
FreeSpirited:
why, do you want to give me a virgin whose parents is rich and wont mind throwing money around?
Seems it is lack of money that is your problem.

For me, I personally don't desire or see any reason or do I have any interest in such ceremony. Wether I am rich as Elon musk and na virgin marry I dey marry. court marriage with our parents, 1 or 2 friends each present if necessary. I am not even religious, if she wants church blessing it would be in a reverend fathers office.

Of course it would be a lady that is free and open to such.

I don't do things because people are doing. I do things because I want to.

It amazes me how people reason. They know how much they earn, they'll decide to marry, have children which they know requires money. Yet they'll go about lamenting how they are suffering when they are living the life their income can give undecided

Mr A's income could be 30k, would go ahead marry, born, then would start complaining and lamenting about how he is not finding it easy huh Mr B's income could be 70k, would go ahead marry, born, then would start complaining and lamenting about how he is suffering huh When he is living the 70k life oo. Before what where you expecting?

Mr C while alone sef, finding it hard with his 100k salary, borrowing here and there. Yet this same individual would go and marry, birth children on the same 100k that couldn't do him even while alone. The 100k that only you spend now it is 4 of you on it undecided and you think life would be easier?

Mr D, with his income of 150k, having problem affording the school fees of the 1 child he has, lamenting of how 150k can't do shit. Yet he is still firing to add more children. So you adding more expenses would make it easier?

This always baffles me, how can anyone make sense of this?

No one seems to be talking about school fees but they are inevitable and would soon rear its head especially for those of us whose children are in private schools.

This term school fees is going to be half of my yearly house rent.

What a country.

If I can afford it what about others who are just starting a family, can anybody tell this govt that they increasingly pushing people into extreme and agonsing poverty.
Then they shouldn't start a family.
You are not paid because you have a family or because you decide to have alot of liabilities, you are paid because you work.

Moreover, there are school that charge probably millions down to maybe 3k. Choose the one you can afford

I specifically asked about parents because you are their responsibility not anyone's. It isn't your fault if you no longer have them. Moreover at 32 I see no reason why your mother should be the one taking of you. The duties and struggle are yours without option.

Graduated since 2017? Hope you are managing with something and hoping for a better one? Not literally "no job" as you said.

What nonsense "try" This is how you people celebrate and promote mediocrity.

It is this kind of mindset hence you see people birthing children up and down in Africa without minding the responsibility. Children begging and looking for their food and other responsibilities that are the duties of their parents.

It is not a "try for you ", not a help or a favour. It is an obligation of anyone who decides to birth child to cater for its well-being. Food, shelter and clothing.

Even animals provide for and teach the egg they hatch how to fly, catch prey etc in order to face life.

Were you independent before? How comes you don't have food to eat or not knowing where would your next meal come from? Or that no money in your pocket? You are clearly under your parents, then that means they didn't provide the food you are currently begging for hence refer back to the bolded. It clearly suggest that you have such mindset too considering the "try" you said earlier and I hope you purge yourself of such so that you do the right thing to your offspring.

So go to your parents.

The passenger.

Would you just enter into a restaurant, order food without knowing the price? Even if you do, definitely you are prepared and okay with whatever price it would be.

When people eat food and it turns out they don't have enough money to pay. Everyone would bash them for not asking the price before eating. How is it different from this?

E.g point A to B is a straight drop and it is known that bikers charge #100. I wouldn't even ask. Just like keke, I drop and hand the exact know price. I doubt if there would be a tussle in this kind of scenarios.

If I would be taking a bike from point A to C then E, definitely I would inquire about his price. The bike man dictate his price not you.

Attached is the address of the building. Anybody in Calabar or wherever can confirm it. Also, he or she should ask if one of the affected people is by name Umoh. I know some nairalanders here who base in Calabar that can help verify but I don't want to call them so that people would not say am conniving with them. If there's a way to collect even police statement for this, I would do it.
Why is the email address not visible? It is the surest way people can verify your claim i.e through the church.

Secondly, don't be smart by half. Asking whether a person named so so is not a reliable way to verify your claim. Anyone can claim to be anyone.

Sure a house was razed down by fire. You snapped inside, hope you know anyone can do that? Even scammers or people that are not tenants.

Someone almost scam people with the same kind of story as yours. He also snapped inside the burnt building. But it turns out he is trying to use an unfortunate incident that happened with another person to scam people of their money.

I am not saying the op is a scam or not but here is my take. His write up seems to be the typical style scammers use.

New moniker: most scammers create new account.

Threaten suicide. He also did this.

Always no father, mother, or anyone.

Exaggerate a situation: he claimed to be roaming about, sleep on in dangerous places. Probably on the street?

Suggest an unreliable way to prove their claims. Picture of burnt building or the individual in the burnt building doesn't prove anything.

I have a building close to me that got burn some weeks ago. I can say that my everything is gone and I have no one, no place to stay or money to rent another house then solicit for money, when requested to snap pictures I can also do it. Does it proves anything?

@ Garrieveryday People go to various length just to scam people. Some even use sick people pictures... etc.

Here is the same kind of scam that was busted on nairaland.

@NiceUpper I suggest op should drop the state, town and exact location of the house. There should be nairalanders there who can do an in person verification of your claims.

NB: the nairalander has to be an old member. He or she should must act smart, ask people around e.g the shop owner beside the building if you were a tenant and so on.

FamilyScam Alert. Nairaland's Bony And Clyde, Come And Redeem Yourselves. by Childfree(op): 3:41pm On Aug 07, 2023
For the past days or weeks if you have been frequenting the family section, you must have come across this user Dcass https://www.nairaland.com/dcass

That her husband is dead, she's a single mother, no food, learnt tailoring, creating thread up and down looking for 90k for buying sewing machine, that no one is helping her, no relative, all people want is sex before helping her, she'll go into prostitution bla bla bla...

From the numerous threads she has been creating for the past 1 month+ since she created the account, some people probably bought her stories and were genuinely trying to suggest solutions and giving her advice. She shun all suggestions and refusing to answer basic question. All her tale didn't make any sense at least to me and maybe to some.

Common sense suggest she's a scam. So I decided to burst her bubble the brutal way lol. I contacted her and here is how it goes.

After some few basic questions, I requested how would I know she's genuine and where does she stays.

Her response: Benue. And a 5sec voice note to tell me she's not a scammer. She even suggested a video call.

Lol anybody can claim anything. I can also claim that I lost my parents, I manage to learn tailoring and I have 20k looking for 40k to buy sewing machine... How does making a phone call or video call with me suggest my claims are true. I am not dumb to take such.

I requested her to provide me with her Facebook name. Why I requested it was that, there I should be able to see if she's truly married or once married, if I can find anything that would tell that her husband is no more or anything that would tell she's a single mother like picture of her baby... etc

She gave me, but I couldn't find her on Facebook. I guess it isn't visible or public. I requested her to copy her profile link and send to me. She did.

Her account is new not more than 2months yet with 4k+ friends. red flag

I was expecting to see her age mates, matured people and mother's father's... as her friends, you understand. But no, most were just random male teenagers in their early 20s, a lot not Nigerians and also obvious hacked Facebook accounts. Just like the way you see some of those money doubling fraudsters on Facebook with many friends, some commenting I received bla bla bla.

She has like 6 photo post only. It doesn't tell or show she's a single mother or her baby, no sign she's once married.

She is not a catfish I guess since she is willing to do video call.
So this suggest to me that she's just a random lady, she created a nairaland account, made claims and hoping people buy her stories and money sent to her. And for the Facebook account, definitely something is wrong. It is not the average Facebook account.

You are not satisfied? ....to be continued

I brought this matter to the public to see if a friend can be helped. We served together in akwa ibom but she is yet to get a jọb.

She has been trying so hard but none is coming yet. We spoke yesterday and she had to confess to me that she is contemplating suicide. The truth is I understand how she feels because even as a man, I felt like that too.. I do not have a job I can link her to because I am currently interning with a firm.

She stays around igando, Lagos.. Is there anyone that can help?

She is a HND graduate and she has some job experience. The only way I can help her is to cry out to people for help...

All she need is a job.....
Someone suggested this
Mindlog:
Let her check out private primary schools around her, many do recruit in August for September resumption.
That is a good option. People that do such don't know what they are doing abi she is too big for it?

"Boss... Person wey go learn tech skill go dey chop"

Curious, is she staying on the air and eating sand currently?

Common sense suggest that one should find something doing at least while waiting and searching for a better good job.

A CHILD IS A LIABILITY WHEN BORN TO THE POOR, NOT A BLESSING
Yeah but still one would have to decide to either do their request or not. The blame is still on the individual.

In fact that is the total disregard I was talking of. Is like choosing between pleasing people who are pressuring you and well-being of the kid you would bring to the world since you are not ready. Unfortunately many chose the former

why would you care what insane people are doing (when their wives themselves dont complain)?

who is really to blame here: the yeye husband or the deluded wife who agrees to the above nonsense?!
I think both of them.

I don't bother in that way. If that's what they want to do that's their problem.

If I see a dog who's owner doesn't feed it, maltreat or always starves it. Sure I'll wonder or be angry why hold a dog if you can't feed it. I am very sure we'll all hold this sentiment.

That's the same thing when it comes to children, my concern is for the innocent children, they bear the brunt and consequences of the foolish parents.
FamilyWhy Do People Don't Bother Or Have No Concern Regards This? by Childfree(op):
Some people( that are not even wealthy, they don't even earn 500k monthly, infact they could be the average poor Nigerian or middle class) they prevent their wives from working hence they are the sole providers. Doesn't it occur to you how would your family survive if e.g something like death happens to you? What of you the wife, doesn't it concerns you what would be of you and the children?

Some settings, not necessarily the wife is disallowed to work, but the couples less care about the fact the wife don't earn or work I.e no effort or seriousness to find something doing. What if something happens to you the man? It doesn't come to your head how the situation of your family would be? Or you the wife, how you would cope with the children?

While In most settings, the wife work but earn way less than the man. I do hear even on this forum people saying if a woman earns more than the husband she'll be disrespectful, less submissive... bla bla bla. I guess deep within them they wouldn't want their wives to out earn them. So if you you are finding it difficult with your 150k salary, doesn't it bother you how would your family flare with the 50k salary your wife earn if e.g something like death happens to you?

Maybe if you are a stinking wealthy man, no problem. However I am talking About the 110 million Nigerians that are poor, can't even afford basic 3² meals a day. Probably another 60 million are hand to mouth.

My take is that people have no regards to the well-being of the children they would birth or the ones they already had, their problem and concern is just to have the number of children they always desire.

Hence you see, despite the kind of lives people are living, complaining on how they are finding it difficult to make both ends meet yet they are busy adding children to meet the number they always desire.

It is so pathetic in this part of the world.

Why I asked the question is because We also get workers for our farm which is no way close to the amount you are quoting.

It is 99.9% chance this is the typical serial beger ravaging nairaland, working day and night hoping someone would buy into their ridiculous story then 3, 5 or 10k be sent to them. If not then OP is not a serious person to begin with.

He created this account November last year. Only active in the family section opening threads up and down with ridiculous begging stories.

During the Christmas season, his begging tales were about no food, Christmas cloths... A 28 years old man concerns are no Christmas cloths? Lol definitely this is a dumb teenager behind the account.

in one of his thread he has a wife. Which would not tally with anything he has been saying since he open this begging account.

Okay let's even leave this aside. Regarding this thread.

You are delusional, ridiculous and stupid at the same time.

You don't have kobo, you don't earn Shi Shi yet you are requesting people give you 150k to open up a phone repair station.

You need fan, seats, laptop, banner, software... Ridiculous things which are not even needed and they amount to 95% of the amount he is requesting.

Typically people just get space where they place a table, by the roadside, front of someone's shop... etc Bench that 3 or 4 can sit on that's all. That is what you see everywhere. Not to even talk of the ridiculous remote village you stay at, that 7k to 9k is the salary of teacher with ssce certificate.

Tailoring, you are already have the skill, go to someone's shop and give a helping hand. If you want to have yours, save and establish yourself. That's what people do. Same with the phone repair skill.

Likewise every of the skill you cited. Moreover you can go back to the wheelbarrow work which you claimed you do initially. Your mates are doing it, eating and solving their problem.

But no, there is nairaland where people are dumb, let me just come people would give me money.

Unfortunately this is not the case. With the kind of marital issue you see here on nairaland and around, it makes one wonder what have they been discussing during the dating.

This is what any sane serious person should discuss within the course of dating, and also make sure they are on same page if not better go find another person.

While the average girl is only concern about buy me shawarma, take me out, give me money.
