Well said. Willie Obiano is a monumental failure.

Obiano is not a failure in any way whatsoever. No matter how you measure it. Whether its agriculture, SME,security, roads, hotels, critical infrastructure etc. You can dislike the man, but you cannot say he didn't improve Anambra state as so many governors that cannot point to even a single achievement.

Obiano could have made political enemies. But who wouldn't if you want to make a positive mark on history? Everybody wants to be Governor at the same time and once they feel he supports one side, they will automatically become his enemy, and they will decamp to another party. Even Peter Obi also had enemies because he wanted men of proven character to succeed him. I like Ifeanyi Ubah because i want an Nnewi man as governor in 2022, but i am not sure he has the type of great vision that will make Anambra a world class state.

If Obiano completes the airport, ICC, Stadium and others before he leaves, he will remain popular. Truth is that Anambra cannot do all the roads and simultaneously build all the infrastructure needed to develop the economy at the same time. Obiano has chosen to complete some key critical projects while leaving a few things undone. Depending on which project you view as a priority, you would have your opinion of him. But for sure, his legacy projects will speak for him many years after he left government house if he manages to complete them. The way Enugu remembers Chimaroke for ESUT permanent site & law school, Imo remember Dee Sam Mbakwe for Imo airport and Igbariam Campus of the state University & Teaching hospital will remain forever projects that Peter Obi will be remembered for.

I am not saying Anambra and even Imo and Enugu governments are not doing their part by expanding roads. This isn't about local politics or praising one state or another. It is about the emasculation of the company by the real powers that be so that it will eventually collapse. Their plan is simply make the operating environment very hostile that true growth and expansion to export will be nearly an impossible feat.

Do a little research about the renewed onslaught on the company by Nigeria from denying it forex to the refusal of any sort of waiver on essential vehicle production machinery, to unfavorable policies against critical components of the much taunted "National Auto Policy". The same Federal Government that borrows and imposes huge taxes everywhere due to a "shortfall" of resources has suddenly slashed taxes and tariffs on the importation of used cars to just 5%! Meanwhile, the same Federal Government claims it protects local industry (based in the north) by border closure to save local rice, tomatoes, onions, and livestock farmers or anything that Dangote touches such as cement, sugar and refined petroleum once Dangote refinery is completed!

INNOSON must seriously consider partnering with another African country to provide 50% of the investment so that INNOSON can build a subsidiary in that country. Eventually, that subsidiary will be expanded to export to various parts of the world. The INNOSON factory in Nigeria will NEVER be allowed to grow and export globally by the "Nigerian" janjaweeed factor.

INNOSON is already under the Fulani Janjaweeed radar of destruction.

After years of denying it of foreign exchange had failed and heavily taxing its imported machinery, they have now decided to open the Nigerian market to all sorts of used cars from all over the world! They even slashed the tariff on used cars from the insufficient 35% to now a mere 5% ! Mind you, this is the same country that claims it needs to increase taxes to fund its budget and closed her border to protect local cement, tomato and onions production!.

Worse still, they have doubled the tariffs on imported industrial machines while maintaining all sorts of tarrif waivers on DANGOTE imports claiming he is building a refinery. Now ask me why or how Nigeria can ever develop if all they do is how to turn the table against one part of the country. Even when the entire Africa desperately need the factories they are desperate to kill in Nigeria?

Before this beautiful factory and pride of the black race is killed by the Nigerian Federal Government, INNOSON must seriously consider partnering with another African government to build a subsidiary in that African country. That Subsidiary would be for global export which will be supported by that country's Federal Government. The best African country that easily comes to mind with stable electricity and good ease of doing business is TANZANIA!

The aim of this thread isn't to deceive as you claimed,but to showcase the good side of Abia state- most especially aba.
As I informed you earlier, that portion of eziukwu is under construction although the drains have been done to azikwe road.you can ask someone to verify since you know the area well-thanks.

Thank you for the explanation and the good job you are doing showcasing the improvements of Aba.

Without diminishing the important role of other Igbo cities, as Ojukwu accurately pointed out, the industrial take-off of the entire Igboland can only happen when we all understand the intricate link of a viable industrial Aba (Enyimba City) in all these endeavours. That is why i am so intricately invested in what ultimately becomes of Aba. I only ask specific questions to pin-point & understand what and where not because I don't believe you.

does Eziukwu road connect to Ehi road ? I think you meant Azikwe road.The road running across the old Mr biggs (close to Bata) is factory road.Absuth is at umueze ,what is close to eziukwu is the ABA general hospital.
The portion of eziukwu road commissioned yesterday is the part from factory road to No1 okigwe road,along with the adjoining milverton and ojike lane.
The part of eziukwu road running along ama-ogbonna) No1 okigwe road, all the way to azikwe road is under construction ( the covered drains has been completed). They are doing that section of the road all the way to cemetery market.

I was raised in Aba. I lived on Crystal park hotel junction, Akalanna street and later on Ekenna str off Okigwe road when i worked in the old Absuth site. Now reverted to Aba General hospital. I said all these just to make you understand that i'm not one of those you can fool in Aba. Abum KOMPLETE NwaAba!

Back to my question: (Let me explain the bearing so you'll totally understand where i'm asking about).

If you stand on Eziukwu road behind the Aba General Hospital (Old Absuth) facing Osusu railroad (Ama Ogbonna) & Osusu market,
1. On your Right Eziukwu road leads to Milverton junction, to ASA road (That is the part you are showing)
2. On your Left Eziukwu road continues until its junction with Ehi road, Cameroon road (That is the part I am asking)

The part of Eziukwu road that you are showing has remained motorable but bad. The part of Eziukwu road that i am asking has remained impassable for many years. My question is whether it has been fixed.

Let me quickly add that i'm so grateful that Governor Okezie is finally fixing internal roads in Aba and working on drainages to help reduce flooding and elongate the lifespan of the roads. I am completely grateful to him. But he shouldn't relent. A lot more needs to be done to return Aba to its former glory.

pictures from the commissioning of eziukwu,ojike and milverton roads. There are a total of 6 banks on this road (used to be more before the road collapsed).It used to be the centre of Aba business district,housing mostly the regional headquarters of banks in the SE and many super markets.
those roads collapsed steadily from 2006-07. Happy to see them good again

I love what i'm seeing, but i know Eziukwu road has really bad portions that needed serious work. I am not quite sure of the buildings i'm seeing here. The Eziukwu road approaching Asa road from ABSUTH was very good portion. But i know this isn't behind the ABSUTH or Ehi road by Eziukwu. it is the other side of Eziukwu road where it meets Ehi road, Cameroon road and Clifford that needs to be fixed. You needed a boat to reach Eziukwu by Ehi road in the past. So i'm curious if those really bad part was fixed, or they worked on the manageable part closer to Asa road by Mr Biggs. Which already still had asphalt and was always motorable.

Can you show the portion of Eziukwu road by Ehi road, and by Cameroon road? Those were the worst portions of Eziukwu road. if they are able to fix those portions with concrete roads and drainages, then the Governor is finally working hard to rescue Aba.

With due respect and without diminishing Ngige's projects in any way, Ngige did not perform better than Willie Obiano or Peter Obi.

Perhaps if Ngige had 8 full years, he could have done more, but there is no yardstick whatsoever that you can use to say Ngige performed better than Obiano or Obi. Infact to even say Ngige performed even 50% close to both men is a huge exaggeration talkmore of suggesting her was better than them.

From Healthcare to Education, to Agriculture, to critical infrastructural projects, to Hotels & Tourism development, Malls, Roads & Bridges, Security, Improving ease of doing business etc. There is no single yardstick where Obi and Obiano didn't perform better than Ngige.

I am glad to see a modern open air market design finally being built in Nigeria! This building template should be copied as the MINIMUM standard for developing any open market anywhere in the Southeast.

I still wonder why we build markets in 2020 using the template Zik used in 1960! That is why Africa never seemed to grow or modernize because nothing done in the 1960s was ever improved upon.

There isn't enough money after the basics such as salaries, roads, schools and hospitals. I think we have to be mindful that Anambra isn't an oil producing state or a northern state that benefits from all sorts of huge Federal Government allocations and massive infrastructural programs. Even the airport and major roads that Anambra is using it's meagre resources to build were built by the FG for most of the northern states. Thus, there is a reason why Anambra never had a stadium because apart from Peter Obi that insisted in doing some projects in the state, the previous governors were just content with the mindset of saying "Lack of funds" and not even trying to build a little.

Since they have enough space on the opposite side of the pitch, they can always build new spectator stand across. Afterall, most world cup stadia are upgraded to reach 30,000 - 50,000 capacity before every Fifa world cup by the host countries. When such a huge event comes, they can always upgrade. They can even do a double decker upgrade by building spectator stands on top of the roof of the present one like the stadia below. Its a common method used in increasing the capacity of stadia selected for global events. However if they fail to build the stadium at all, there will be nothing to upgrade.

The final stage of tiling the airport tower has commenced. After this, the installation of glass tidings, airconditioning of the control room, radar on the roof, and other facilities will mark the completion of a functional control tower.

Hopefully, they have already ordered radar and other navigational equipment meant to be installed on the roof of the control tower. The time taken by Obiano and the team to do a high-quality job must be commended. I'm just impressed at the quality of work.

I expect more gnashing of teeth tonight by that enemy of Anambra. Let him come and say the control tower will be blown down by wind or some of his nonsense talk. His wailing will be endless on this project.

About planning, state roads are by design supposed to be dual lane or at least there should be enough road reserve to eventually build such but not in Anambra and many Eastern states.

This mad dog! I have told an ediot like you to stop quoting me. Your time will be used better for your state. To begin with, the airport has 3 main access roads. Two are dual carriage ways. The first and the main one starts at Nteje on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway, the second is another dual carriage way leading to the airport from the Awkuzu - Umueri road, and the third access road is the short cut to Onitsha on the Nsugbe - Aguleri road (33 / Nkisi) road

Which "Three lanes" did FAAN build for Enugu, Port Harcourt or Owerri airports? It took pleading from Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo and Igbo leaders before Babangida dualized the access road to Enugu International airport. The road to Port Harcourt International airport Omagba was just recently dualized by the Rivers state government under Rotimi Amaechi. The Sam Mbakwe access road has still not been dualized till date!

The gov't should do up the approach road to the airport well.....at least 4 lanes, with trees on either side and carpet grass on the verges. Also, land on either side of the airport road should be reserved for hotels, conference centres, office blocks and aviation logistics and related coys!

The bolded is so critically important i had to re-emphasize it in this post. I could not visit the airport during my last visit, but i drove past Umuleri/Nteje area. The area is becoming another Onitsha with lots of commercial shops and residential houses coming up. In southeast Asian countries, the heart beat of their economies are their airport cities. The proper use of the areas around the airport determine so much more than local business people using it.

Apart from supporting business and logistics in the entire region, the airport has the potential to massively improve tourism in the region. Hopefully, the state government can sign an MOU with a reputable company like those doing the Awka Millennium city and Onitsha Luxury place to regulate the development around the airport city project, to ensure optimum value of the location for the state. Five star hotels, true shopping malls (Not supermarkets we call malls in Nigeria), residential buildings/ activities, high rise office complexes that will eventually be rented by banks, airlines etc, and other recreational outdoor facilities as amusement parks should be reserved in the area. The area being half way between Awka and Onitsha should be purpose planned and developed as the heart beat of the state.

Once the land around the airport is allowed to be built up with shops and stores like Onitsha, it becomes very difficult to develop what was intended by demolishing structures. Thus, now is the time to ensure the area is secured away from land prospectors whose central strategy is simply to build an open market of lock-up shops there as they do in every other location.

The Fulani Government of Nigeria's singular plan is to have Fulanis control ALL critical sectors of the economy to exploit other Nigerians.

The same thing they are doing with cement is the same thing they have done with beef. Nigerian beef is the most expensive anywhere in the world. They have started the same thing with refineries. Then they will move to electricity, and use their water resources bill to stifle access to water and agricultural production anywhere else outside their control.

You will ask yourself, how many are these Fulani to determine the fate of Nigerians? Not many! But because they have figured the gross inattention of other Nigerians to everything bothering their lives, they have capitalized upon it to drive their wicked agenda for Nigeria.

Unless Nigerians RESIST these people, there will come a time we'd wonder how we irresponsibly surrendered our land, resources and sovereignty to Fulanis.

I think Nigeria is actually missing the point that the people being suppressed have had it and will no longer take their subjugation and slavery. Things will soon come to a head, and Nigeria will discover that indeed the issue of subjugation of the SE in particular has become untenable.

Please Let's do something about this my people, it's heart breaking to see lot's of high rise buildings, but no road and proper waste management to curtail this mess. I saw on this guy's facebook page and i decided to bring it to our attention to talk about it. Awada Obosi is our hood then. Sad to see everywhere rotten like this.

Why ordinary sanitation and water supply is a feat to us is the biggest surprise in the world!

What would it take for Anambra state government to enact a law that authorizes private companies to collect monthly sanitation levies from every flat in every street to make sure the rubbish is removed twice a week? But the state government and legislature are so comatose that they will never worry about such legislation to help improve quality of life.

The Government should target a policy that mandates landlords who cannot sink private boreholes to come together a sink one borehole per street or 2 or 3 streets in high density areas like Awada, Omaba, Nkpor, Woliwo etc. What will it take for the state government to pass a legislation that landlords in high density areas must come together to set up a borehole system at the edge of each street and pipe the water into each compound in that street for a small monthly fee for water supply from every flat in each house? But they won't pass such law.

I am truly disturbed that we don't have leaders that care about how to use the instrumentality of government to help people organize themselves to provide water, sanitation and fix their roads with interlocking stones. Mind you nobody is asking government to spend their money in doing it for the people. Just make a law that makes it mandatory for existence of sanitation authorities funded by the people themselves and water board funded by landlords in each city themselves. Mind you, all these things will create thousands of jobs for people who would run it.

Why it is so difficult to have people in government who will use their good offices to help our people organize themselves to solve basic problems like sanitation, water supply and even creating basic streets with interlocking stones? It is truly shocking.

Nobody trusts the sincerity of you governors and your bogus security network to protect the farmers. You are only interested in harboring bandits and killers in our forests to fetter the nest of your Fulani master. All that matters to you governors is your 2023 ambition and not lives of villagers lost daily.

The people deserve true security of their lives in their own village, and they have come together to form the ESN precisely for that. Those criminals regardless of their tribe who are hiding in forest camps to kidnap, kill and rape women in farms better leave our forests now.

Its shocking that the same SE governors that allowed herders to Arbitrarily Annex farmlands, slaughter farmers without doing anything to stop it have suddenly found their voice now that farmers are taking back their farms.

Truth is that the people know that due to their selfish political ambitions, these eastern governors donot care about the lives of the people nor the annexation and destruction of their farms by Fulani herdsmen. Therefore nobody will save the people unless they save themselves. The people will take back their farms from illegal campers and killer herdsmen whether it pleases these governors or not.

I don't know how to reach out to Anambra State government, so i'll just post this information here so that those with access to them can plead with them.

We URGENTLY need roundabouts at certain typically traffic-jam prone junctions in the state. We all know that Nigerians are the worst when it comes to being patient and obeying traffic rules. Therefore, having a 4-way junction on any major road without a roundabout is fundamentally a flawed design which will inevitably cause complicated & locked traffic jams. The idea of posting 1 or 2 traffic police or road marshals does not address this in anyway as they are easily totally overwhelmed.

Important road junctions as Nnobi Junction and Ekwulobia junction amongst so many others should have WIDE roundabouts to facilitate smooth movement of traffic across such junctions. These roundabout apart from helping the traffic police to manage the traffic, also serve as cultural beautification monuments around the state. In other countries such as the USA, some 4-way traffic junctions have been modified into roundabouts with nice monuments, water fountains and flowers. I am pleading with the authorities to consider building roundabouts around those notorious junctions in the state to help ease the flow of traffic across those important junctions and around the state. It shouldn't cost much to build these roundabouts, but they will save so much man-hours and fuel cost spent in traffic commuting around the state.
