I believe all lands should be owned by the government and freehold land ownership should be abolished. As long as individuals own freehold properties , Nigeria and other third world countries will never develop .
That's my opinion. what's your opinion?

The people of Nigeria or the people who rig themselves into power and say they are "rulers" or "governors" of Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by ChimaAdeoye:
passion007:
Your post is superficial and upsetting, and I'll tell you why.

There is a sense of responsibility that most Igbos have toward AIIA. We have witnessed years of neglect, of traveling through decrepit federal roads in order to get to the airports in Lagos or Abuja. Grudgingly, AIIA was given international status. With no facilities to shoulder such a responsibility, it was almost certain the airport would crumble upon itself-it was only a matter of time.

Years have gone by, and the airport has held up against the smear campaign of the Lagos media who once opined Enugu was too dirty to host an international airport, and against the duplicity of the FG who denied other airlines entry into Enugu, while allowing new airlines leave to enter Kano, a city with far less international air traffic. Hence, most of us have come to stomach the slight inconvenience that is a 6-hour layover at Addis Ababa in order to give this airport a lifeline. Then, there's the independent thinkers like yourself who cannot be bothered to fly an airline struggling to find its feet on alien, inhospitable soil, who are enticed by the convenience of flying the Royal Dutch airline, and only waiting under an hour in Amsterdam. That certainly sounds far less tedious, and who could blame you for making a convenient choice.
What the rest of the guys on here are trying to say in the nicest of ways and in the politest language, is that your opinion on the matter is of limited benefit, hence no one wants to hear it. Moreso as your time is far too precious to be spent on a matter as pedestrian as planning your trip around the three days Ethiopian flies into Enugu, and as you won't be flying Ethiopian anyway, we are asking that you not kill the zeal of those who do. I believe that's not an unreasonable request.
Please stop responding to that Afonja. The more you do, the more he thinks you are dumb and he has deceived you by merely claiming he is igbo. Let him use google translate to also write Igbo and think nobody knows about that too. Biko, Stop being deceived by their antics to be Igbo this or that. Just ignore them to spew their bitterness and hatred. We share a country with horribly hateful fellows we call "compatriots"

If you scroll back this thread a few pages, you will see where they argued Enugu was more expensive. Then they argued, ET was unsafe. Now they are arguing it has layover. They are sooooooooooo bitter. You could see for yourself that they mischivously closed down the airport in it's busiest week in December. Please do not let them deceive you by claiming they are Igbo this or that. The same people that conspired to kill Onitsha seaport using similar deceitful and totally false talk are having sleepless night with AIIA, Enugu. They want Igbo to have no access whatsoever to the outside world without first going to their region. That is why you must ignore their silly excuses and just do what needs to be done.

I have flow that route from USA about 4 times now and you rarely stay in Addis Ababa for more than 3-4 hours. Notice that he deliberately chose to begin his trip on Tuesday or Thursday so that he would have missed the Enugu bound flight and would then have a long layover. If you book such flight on ET website, they immediately suggest alternate days for your trip. If he could start a trip on 13th, he could very well start it on the 12 or the 14th and he won't have any long layover, but he chose 13th because he was very mischievous to claim there is a long layover. I started the trip on March 12th instead of 13th he mischievously chose. You can see for yourself that it is only in the return flight that you have more than 3 hours layover.

Layover at Addis Ababa is the shortest compared to using Air France or Virgin to Abuja or Lagos from USA. Infact in one trip i almost missed the Enugu flight because the layover was just 30 minutes from when the plane that brought us from Washington touched down in Addis Ababa. Usually the one hour layover from Washington DC is like 30-40 minutes because the Washington flight is always delayed.
Please don't let these wicked people deceive you. NEVER believe any word they say. They are out to deceive you out of their senseless undiluted hatred.

So igbos are supposed to go out of their way abroad to research how Ethiopian airlines operates to fit them into thier schedule?

Other airlines operate on a schedule that is able to acommodate most people and their traveling habits with competitive prices.

The goal is to enter Nigeria to visit family. Not to bend over backwards to meet anybody’s agenda. If KLM, British airways, Air France etc has routes available that make it easy for the customer to get to Nigeria, Ethiopian airlines can go to hell.

I’m not planning my trip around an airline. There is a date I want to go home and I pick the airline that can get me there at a competitive price without much burden on me. Simple
Afonja!
Nobody is asking you to fly to Enugu airport.
Without you, it is growing and shall continue. Yorubas like you go out of their way to fly Ethiopian airline from Washington or London to Addis Ababa and to Lagos. You won't complain about that, but if it's Enugu then you open your filthy mouth to complain.

Igbos shall still fly to Lagos, Abuja or Kano depending on where they have families to receive them when they enter the country. Of course some will fly directly home to Enugu and none of your silly propaganda can stop it or your wicked ideas of closing the airport during the peak Christmas week to frustrate people who want to fly directly home to Enugu. Even if Nigeria Federal Government continued to flatly refuse to build a proper taxiway for Akanu Ibiam International airport as it did for all the other international airports yet continue to reject the idea to concession out the airport to private investors to properly develop the airport, it still can't stop our progress nor frustrate growth of the airport.

All your wicked actions in Nigeria against Ndigbo which has held Nigeria back from developing will finally come to naught. Just that you people are too daft and blinded by hate to see it.

In 5-6 years, Fulani will begin slaughtering of local village people and launch their expansionist agenda using cattles to destroy farmland in order to expand into other areas. They will be armed by Nigerian security agents and their population inside those colonies will surpass the villages. Everyone in those villages now will run for dear life and abandon their land and farms to Fulani.

Then this yeye Governor would have retired and be one of those saying "I regret my actions" as if that will bring back the lives of the people killed nor get back their land.

Let the defendants refuse to show up to answer their case, no problem.
America isn't a country where law and order is toyed with, so they can ignore US courts, but the court orders will stand.

IPOB should just present the evidence to the court of their crimes and secure the judgement. It is a crucial step towards going to the international criminal court for crimes against humanity.

Whether you fly KIM or you fly British air, you must be smart with day of flying.

Ethiopian airlines fly only 3 days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) into Enugu . You must plan to begin your journey on Monday or Wednesday or Friday to avoid long layover
EXACTLY!
If you are traveling to a place where there are 3 flights / week, you MUST plan to travel on Monday, on Wednesday and on Friday.

If you travel on the wrong days, you will definitely have long layovers because if you land in Addis Ababa on a Sunday, you have to stay in a hotel until Tuesday when the first flight to Enugu for the week leave Addis Ababa.

It is true that some of our people in diaspora know next to nothing about Nigeria or at least recent developments in Nigeria. Some still call Obasanjo and Babangida as if they were still Presidents in Nigeria. Each time i come to this thread after viewing all the troubles in Nigeria, only to see that the most important issue for Chino and Abagworo are just Anambra and Imo who is better, i remember village never do wells.

In every village, there are never do wells that sit in the village just to compare who's house is finer amongst their town's people. Then if you return to the village and you don't give them something, they will instantly hate you and begin to plot how to poison you or bury juju at your project site. You just cannot help wondering how they will find energy and money to go and get juju to punish someone, instead of helping their pathetic lives. That is exactly the feeling that comes to mind each time i see Chino and Abagworo.

These wicked people are still diverting Enugu flights to Lagos!

Didn't they say their runway "repair" was going to last from 22nd of december to 27th december 2017 and only after 3:00pm?

This is now January , 2018 and they are still diverting Enugu bound flights to Lagos and not even Port Harcourt as they stated in the announcement?

So, how will the passengers get to Enugu if they were not told they will be going to Lagos until the last minute?
If they really wanted to do any good at the airport, they would complete the abandoned taxiway.

Akanu Ibiam International airport, Enugu remains the ONLY international airport in Nigeria without a taxiway and they deliberately left it like that. All other Intl. airports in Kano, Kaduna, Port harcourt,Abuja, Lagos airport all have taxiways EXCEPT Enugu intl.

They claimed a taxiway was part of the upgrade they paid for. Yet, they won't arrest the contractor to finish it, nor award it. So it's obvious they don't want anything to develop the capacity of the airport to function properly as international airport to be implemented.
They should complete the abandoned taxiway and leave the good runway alone.

I do agree that there needs to be a protest against the plan by some NAAN and NCAA to frustrate international operations at AIIA,Enugu.
They now "mistakenly" omit to refer to it as one of the 5 international airports in Nigeria. Instead, they emphasize Kaduna airport. Not that i have anything against Kaduna, but they should not try to kill the only International airport in the SE zone just to have two Intl. airports in the NW zone.
Let the international airports in Kaduna exist, let Kano exist, let Abuja exist, let Lagos, Enugu and Port Harcourt exist. Let Nigerians choose the airport which is closest to their destination as it is done in civilized countries

We inhabit a space called a "country" with people who treat us no less wickedness than a hate-filled enemy. It is unfortunate the type of countrymen that we are stuck with. (Sundiata Post) –

Many Nigerians Ibos have expressed anger at Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) over the arrest of the Managing Director of Nigeria’s indigenous Motor Assembly Plant Innoson Motors, Dr Innocent Chukwudi by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Our investigations reveal that there is a sustained campaign against GTbank since his arrest on Tuesday, as thousands of Nigerians yanminris from a section of the country have vowed to close down their accounts with the Bank. Some have already done that and posted them on social media.

Already Hashtags have been created to drive the massive campaign against GTBank. Some of the hashtags include #BoycottGTBankOverInnoson; #BoycottGTBank among others.
Sundiata Post gathered that even the elites among them are not left out.

A very popular hotelier that owns a four star in Owerri is one of those who has done that .The message is already spreading like wild fire on social media. None of the top management team of GTbank was ready to speak to our reporters when we contacted them this afternoon.

Chukwuma, was picked up at about 11 a.m. at his Savage Crescent, GRA Enugu residence on Tuesday, December 19 on allegations of refusal to honour an invitation by the Commission having earlier jumped an administrative bail granted to him in a case being investigated by the Capital Market and Insurance Fraud Unit of the Commission’s Lagos office.
His arrest has however sparked widespread condemnation as many see this as an act of intimidation to prevent court judgements secured in his favour from being executed in cases between Innoson and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.
Those that have continued their war against Igbos in Nigeria must stop it.

Igbos should wise up and deny patronizing ANY business that participates in this war against them.
It is a little sacrifice to make to help fight injustices against one ethnic group in Nigeria.

So go to the bank today and transfer out all your funds to another bank. Those that want Igbo money, should not collaborate with the current regime in Abuja in their fight to make Igbos second class citizens in a country Igbo fought for it's independence.

Nobody should be deceived to trust these horrible people.

Knowing their wicked disposition to anything in the zone to be substandard, I predict that since they couldn't close the airport as they wanted, they will still do a substandard job that breaks down completely in a few months that will force the closure they are plotting.

These people have nothing good in their heart for the region. When it's Kaduna or Abuja airport to fix, they find Julius Berger to do the work to specification. If it's Enugu int'l airport, they use bricklayers hired from the market as engineers to mix sand and stones to "fix" international airport runway. Let them give the job to a reputable construction company as contractor to make sure specifications are met than to do and not use useless direct labor to "fix" an international airport runway.
Those wicked people. Their ultimate plan is to completely shut down the eastern airspace.

After shutting down Enugu, they will find an excuse to quickly shut down Owerri airport. Just like they shut down Asaba airport.
Then their plan is to divert the traffic to Lagos, Kaduna and Kano

Our people have a very very funny mentality that Lagos makes them "civilized" or more "respectable" than anywhere in the SE. even if they live in a rat hole in Lagos grin

I say this as someone who is living in Lagos and see what our people go through there. The smart ones usually find a way to build a decent business for themselves in the SE than running around in Lagos living like a rat being chased around. i have seen a few smart girls set up hair dressing and braiding saloons in Obosi and Aba, than remain jobless and working as maid servants in Mama-put in Lagos. On the other hand, I have seen the follish ones living in Makoko slums in Lagos claiming to be somewhat "better off" than people living in GRA or independence layout enugu!!! On what grounds bikonu?

Even those Ebonyi youths selling pure water in Lagos traffic see themselves as "better' than those with decent market shops and earning a decent living as a merchant in Abakaliki.

In the same vein, i can see our people thinking that arriving or leaving the country through Lagos or Abuja somehow makes them "higher or superior" than arriving or leaving in Enugu. The illiterate mentality is real and just needs to be addressed.
PDPGuy:
Lol

In addition to your reasons, I also think that ticket prices are another reason why most Igbo diasporas prefer flying to Lagos or Abuja.

The relatively expensive ticket to Enugu may be due to the fact that the airport still lacks some critical safety infrastructure. Hence, Ethiopian Airlines would want to guarantee that they have enough money in the bank in the event of something terrible happening to their aircraft.
shaibu123:
The reason why people fly to lagos or Abuja is the ticket price. For example from any European country to Enugu will cost between €900-€1200,why lagos or Abuja can sometimes go as cheap as €398 return ticket. So if you have a family of 2 adults and 3 kids flying to Enugu it Will cost you €4900 but if you choose to fly to lagos or Abuja it will cost you €2500 on average. So when you put 2 and 1 together you will understand. Enugu Airport has to undergo serious rehabilitation in every area to allow for more traffic from other airlines. And this will cause competition between the airlines. At the moment Ethiopian airlines decides the price,no competition.
One wonders why all these lies are flying around the internet about Enugu being more expensive?

Please just search flight prices for yourself from your local city and stop listening to these professional propagandists here on NL that have one agenda or another and sell lies & deceit to those lazy enough not to verify the truth for themselves.

Who is really bent on fostering this propaganda against Enugu airport? ...and for what mischievously diabolical benefit ?
