I can see Atiku actually winning the primaries. But he will lose the presidential election to GEJ. Buhari's only hope of winning the primaries to be held in Lagos is Tinubu. But, Atiku can match Tinubu, Naira to Naira, Dollar to Dollar. |
Time to break Tinubu's grip of Lagos state and it's treasury. Vote Jimi Agbaje as Governor. Tinubu's near absolute controle of APC cannot be good for Lagos or the Fed. republic of Nigeria. Ambode is nothing but a stooge. Tinubu will still be in charge. We cannot allow that to continue in Lagos state. |
No be today na.. that's the greatest gift God gave to the African woman. They've got the edge over other races on that. Some women really do have great futures behind them......... if you get my drift. |
Excellent 'I report'. keep it up. Good to know no lives were lost. |
Two major suicide bomb blasts with heavy casualties within a 7 day period? !!. I can swear that this is politically motivated. The sponsors of these uneducated animals are bent on influencing the voting patterns of the coming elections. Thier evil plans will never work. What kind of ba*stards sacrifice their own people for cheap political gains. They will be shocked to find out that GEJ will even win in the same North East. They should stop wasting innocent people's lives. |
I support Atiku 100% on this. They should go to the primaries. If not for anything, to spite the backstabber Tinubu for betraying Buhari. Tinubu displayed the most visible character trait of his people by bringing that loser Tambuwal into the picture. Those people are very unreliable. If it cannot be Buhari, then Atiku should contest for APC. Both Tambuwal and Tinubu are snakes. They wanted to pull the carpet under Buhari's leg. Atiku should kick everybody's A$$ now. Tambuwal is a NOBODY !!. |
ibedun:Relevance has a direct correlation to the issue at hand. Only a small section of the constitution is relevant to the issue at hand. I hope you are schooled enough to know what " Relevant" here means. |
@ chamboy : Mehn , this you combo is 'wicked'. Buhari and Ezekwesili. You are really playing on emotions here. This combination will really kick a$$. |
willibounce1:Yea... very funny. When the time comes, they will know how to vote. Even A.boki go know where dey draw broom or umbrella. |
ibedun:Politics is a game of numbers, my friend. What the constitution says is totally irrelevant. The relevant aspect of the constitution is the clause that says " every Nigerian is eligible to contest elections anywhere in the country as long as he meets the age requirement and minimum educational level. Having said that, you and I know that it is totally foolhardy for an Hausa man to aspire to be the governor of Oyo state or for an Igbo man to aspire to be the governor of Borno state. He simply does not have the numbers on his side. Lagos on the other hand is a different ball game. The state has a population of close to 20million. All Yoruba's ( immigrants and indigenes alike ) can not be more than 5 or 6 million. Besides, just like Igbos come and goes, Yoruba's come and go too. One my workers recently relocated back to Osun state. I also have someone who lives in Lagos while his wife and children are in Ekiti. Lagos has a very fluid demography. You have no exclusive claim to Lagos. The sooner you deal with it, the better for you. Otherwise, you will suffer a heart attack. |
ibedun:Hahahhaha.... the Oba of Lagos has just one vote and his people, the indigenes of lagos possess less than 1.5 million votes. If INEC does their registration properly, Lagos should have at least 8 to 10 million voters. Who do you think make up the rest of the voters ?.. Omoniles ? Thank your stars that Alaba and Idumota boys are just not interested in registering. Same goes for Adamu and Hassan the suya seller and mai nama. They don't register because no contestant from their tribe has shown them the importance of registering to vote. |
davitogreat:Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is being groomed as we write. |
Where will the white man come from ?. |
orimsamsam:....and what is wrong with that. Do you think Mr. Akabueze, the commissioner in Fashola's govt. is now less of an Igbo man just because he is involved in Lagos politics ?. |
ibedun:....and who are "the powers that be in Lagos". You think it's the Baale of Igbogbo or the Tinubu's. My friend, you have zero understanding of politic and economics. The only thing making it possible for Yoruba's to continue ruling Lagos is the simple fact that other tribes and ethnic groups are just not interested in the politics of Lagos. Yoruba's have virtually no control or say in the economy of Lagos. What the governor has is the administrative convenience. The day somebody like Safyu Dantata, Coscharis ( Cosmas Maduka), Oskar Ibru, Ifeanyi Uba or even Dangote decides to contest in Lagos will be the day you will know who owns Lagos. I just chose the names you can relate to. there are other powerful owners of Lagos you know nothing about. Just let sleeping dogs lie. Like I said earlier, our people are just not interested. Other tribes in Lagos are just there for economic reasons. The day you drastically encroach on their business activities is the day it will be made clear to you who holds the REAL power in Lagos. |
Why is Chukwuma Azikiwe looking so old na..... Anyway, Buhari is taken the right steps now. Tambuwal don put fire for him yansh. I was beginning to feel sorry for him. I do not like gang ups against anybody. I doubt if Buhari will win the nomination though. GEJ might just be re elected. |
ProfCorruption:Thank you for that. This settles the issue between me and you. What is left now is for the Igbos to really get political in Lagos. We do have the numbers to do some serious damage. But, my guys in Idumota, Alaba, Festac, Orile, Isolo, Island etc are only interested in their business. They just want to trade. Things might change in the future though. |
ibedun:The place you are born will be your 'state of origin'. that will NOT in any way delete your ancestral roots. The Kennedys and the Clintons in the USA will always be Americans. That has never removed, deleted nor denied the fact that they are Irish descents. They still celebrate St. Patricks day after all those centuries. Your roots will always be your ROOTS. State of origin will be where you are born and reside |
nduchucks:That is the future of Nigeria. There is no way 'this state of origin' crap will survive in the long run. It was even like that in the olden days. Alhaji Maitama Sule was the mayor of Enugu in the 60s. The man speaks fluent Igbo. Through out the military era, any Nigerian can be posted anywhere to administer the place. If Yoruba's are complaining about Lagos, what will the original owners and indigenes of Abuja do. |
ibedun:Thunder fire you there !!.. leave which thread. I' m here to contribute to decisions that will affect OUR Lagos and you are talking crap. Do you see me poking my nose on issues that has to do with Ekiti, Osun, Ondo, Ogun or Oyo. Those are Yoruba states. Gat no business with them. Keep deceiving yourself. If any man from Yoruba land can govern Lagos, can any man from Yoruba land govern Ekiti, Oyo or Osun. If it's applicable to Lagos, why is it not applicable to the real Yoruba states. My friend,Lagos is a Federal protected territory. Has always been, will always be. Even when Oyibo ruled us, Lagos was separated from Western region. So take your Yoruba self to Ondo and leave Lagos matter to the rest of Nigerians. Are you aware that no body can win the Lagos state governorship seat without the votes of the non Yoruba residents. Like I posted earlier, the NA is working on the matter. You never begin cry sef...... |
aljharem:Wow !! that JAMB form. It seems like no real indigenous Lagosian has ever governed Lagos. I was meant to understand that both Tinubu and Fashola are also migrants from the South West. so, if migrants from the SW can govern Lagos, why not migrants from the SE ?. I don't subscribe to the view that a migrant from Osun or Ekiti has more claims to Lagos than an Igbo, Calabar or Hausa man born and bred in Lagos. I believe the national assembly is looking into the matter right now. I will voting PDP anyway. no matter who they bring out for Lagos. We need freedom from Tinubu grip. Lagosians cannot breath freely anymore. |
OdenigboAroli:The bolded is not entirely true. Somebody has to jump start the freshly created Anambra state. Anambra after the creation had very few experienced civil servants living in the new Anambra state. Most of them were living and working in Enugu. The Anambra civil servants, on request of the new administrator, had to move from Enugu to Awka to kick off the new state. How else do you expect a freshly created state with zero civil service structure to take off ?. Same thing happened when Ebonyi was created. It has been like that since the federal govt. started splitting the old Eastern region. Most civil servants living and working in Enugu had to go to their new states to begin the administration. Especially the very most senior civil servants. |
Chisos !! this thread was created since 2012, how come I'm just seeing it. Anyway, I hardly visit the politics section. Any thread outside the front page eludes me. I usually scan the front page quickly and vamoose. Lots of things to do. @spyder880, well done. Very nice and informative thread. I am a coal city boy to the core. Been away for a long time, but it's still the best place to reside in within and outside Nigeria. I will be going there to see my mom shortly. Enugu Adigo nma since 1920. |
FastShipping:The example is right there in the post you quoted. Fashola needs to build houses for those ladies in Orange overall you see everyday sweeping our highways. They are govt workers too. They have regular income, so they can afford to pay for the low-cost houses, if it's actually made " Low-cost" . |
FastShipping:Your argument is flawed. The state government has no business in constructing COMMERCIAL housing. It should build SOCIAL houses with little profit motive. The houses bought and sold in the US and Europe are private houses owned by private developers or banks. A state govt should not build houses for sale. Definitely not at such prices. |
you deliberately moved this thread to properties from the more visited Politics Section that I created it to cover up your discomfort with the content. - @pendy79. The thread has no business being in the ' Politics' section. It belongs to the property section. |
Obinoscopy:Not only is it NOT affordable to the common man, it's also sold to cronies of Fashola and the Lagos state govt. Most are bought by corrupt senior civil servants who subsequently rent it out. The housing scheme is a sham. In Europe, a cleaner would be given a council apartment. How many cleaners can afford to live in the so-called low income state housing scheme ?. |
Did'nt read the entire story. But 'waiting till your wedding night' is so 1920. It has absolutely no advantage today. It could even backfire. Both guy and babe should know what they are getting way before the wedding. I could marry a girl who slept with me on the first date if i had the night of my life with her. No big deal |
Punch is pure garbage. Wrong sentences, incoherent stories and very biased. I always read the Guardian first. |
scribble:Exactly, can someone here explain to me in concrete terms how OBJ and IBB will help GEJ or even Buhari to win the election. As a matter of fact, IBB is in a somewhat better position to help Buhari in the North. But OBJ has zero influence all over the nation. |
OBJ cannot influence Shyte today. This is 2014 and he is totally inconsequential. This is a man who lost his own ward while he was the president. All the visits to him by both parties is nothing but a courtesy call. GEJ does not need both men to win the presidency. They have but one vote. IBB is totally disinterested in the affairs of the nation. The people that will decide the election are not even on NL. They are the market women, traders, bus drivers and conductors, okada riders, vulcanisers, etc. These group of Nigerians possess the swing votes. OBJ and IBB were just visited as founding members of the PDP. They are officially STILL members of the PDP. |
The right lady won. For me it was either her or Vivly. Congratulation !!. |
