Well the reason men don't show true colors abroad is because in Nigeria, they are the ones calling the shots in marriage, they are the masters and lord and commanders who can cheat and neglect their wives with impunity. Our society already enables men to show their bad and oppressive side without repercussions, there I no true color to show for them again, unlike women who keep tolerating bullshit in marriage because they will be mocked and stigmatized if they leave their husband's in Nigeria.

Secondly, the women cannot stay alone because old single women are also stigmatized and mocked in Nigeria. If a woman chooses not to marry she will be laughed at and people will treat her like an anomaly or as if she had a disease.
