Car TalkToyota Camry Sound While Driving - Diagnosis Help by Chrisbenogor(op): 9:37am On Dec 04, 2013
Hi guys this is a bit long bear with me,
So I am hoping someone with a similar experience can tell me whats could be wrong. I have a Toyota Camry 2007 model which makes a funny sound (let me say its like a roaring sound but not quite, sha something that rambles). Sometime last year I got a check engine light, with vsc lights and trac lights on as well. I went to these guys I use, they scanned and told me the LHS car Tyre sensor was bad and gave me some funny bill. However I resisted the urge to just change it based on their say so, the parts seemed ridiculously expensive so I opted to buy it online from rock auto. Fortunately or should I say unfortunately I found an obd2 scanner online as well and bought it.

I came back and scanned my car and got a P420, "Efficiency of threshold bank low or so I think (picture attached)" apparently that was different from the earlier error. I cleared the error and started studying it, when it came up and I scanned I kept on getting the same code. I did my search online and found that this could mean changing my catalytic converter, I am very very very wary about these guys here so my first question would be

What is the most effective way to clear this P420 code for good, best practices, costs etc?

Back to the rumbling sound, usually the AC is on and windows up so I do not know for sure when it started. When I noticed however I took it to another place to have it checked out. The guy took it for a test drive and while with him in the car he says he is positive that its a hub and bearing problem. I was not too comfortable with the answer, I took it back to the original place where I had that first scan, they did a drive and physically checked and said bearing and hub was fine. Frustrated I went to Google I did my own search on a test drive for a bearing problem. In the videos I watched they said when you hear the sound you turn the steering to either side to ascertain where it was coming from. I did that and noticed that the sound did not change whether I was turning left or right, I noticed something funny however.

When I accelerated i.e push the gas down is the only time I hear the sound, when the car has hit even 100 to 120 km/h I do not hear the sound except I am pushing the accelerator down. I also noticed that between 1000 and 2000 rpm while driving I do not hear the sound it only comes up when I rev the car past 2000 rpm and I am driving as well. When I am not on motion and I rev past 2000 rpm I don't hear the sound.

Can anyone tell what the problem might be?

PS: I do maintenance regularly, those ba$tards changed my break pads and now I hear that annoying sound when I break cry cry its small I know but I am so paranoid I drive with windows down and no music now cry cry
i sincerely agreed with you, my company just employed one guy (an electrical engineer), to be sincere with you this guy doesnt know how to use tester, he doesnt know anything about electrical, i just discovered today that the guy is zero theoretically and i asked myself one question, how does this guy passed his exams, a Bsc holder from ESUT. I'm equally a fresh graduate (mechanical engineer) but i can dismantle, assemble and overhaul an engine without any supervision. i was telling him what and what i can do which i did some in his presence and he asked me a question, where did u learn all these from? my response goes thus....... i did siwes and IT and i took it upon myself that i must know these things. today i can conveniently lay my hand on heavy duty engines and any mechanical machines as well as air condition and refrigerator. i think its just mind set. believe me
Stop giving mechanical engineering a bad name nwokem even a monkey can be trained to 'lay hands' on heavy duty engines.
I helped wake her up. When she regained consciousness, she didn't just know what to do or where to start confessing or how to start pleading for forgiveness.
I categorically told her it was over between us. I collected the dubai necklace I gave her(which was a symbol of our engagement). She pleaded with me but I told her it was over btw us. I left.

The following day, she came to my house with Veron my best friend who betrayed me. They said they came to beg for my forgiveness.

She said it was me she loved, and that it was a mistake what happened btw her and Veron. Veron was speechless.
I told them to go and never come back because I don't ever want to see their faces. I left there.
My girl kept coming. I neglected her. She kept calling me. She called me again yesterday which is why I'm writing this.
Should I forgiver her?
YES!
Forgive her man, infact give her a call back and thank her very much for showing you the true colors now before you started raising three or four kids that are not yours cheesy cheesy cheesy
Suck it up man its all part of life, people cheat simples.

The focus has been pay pay pay and it can be very very misleading. There are many factors one should consider before taking the plunge. You cannot have it all and depending on which role you are taking you have to be careful when you look at money.
Some companies at entry level might not pay so well but have better industry recognised training programs than others, at entry level this should be a bigger draw than where you would seat to be a glorified house boy taking instructions from HQ.
When I have time and energy I would expound more.
TravelRe: My Experience In Port-harcourt Airspace & Airport Today by Chrisbenogor(m): 10:18am On Nov 02, 2013
Mr Aboki: Ichie.. Mba o!! grin

Heres my complaint sir;

1. Port Harcourt has two Airfields. Omagwa (Commercial) and NAF Base Military. Since the President knew that his Mother-in-laws burial would attract the usual flies that follows him about, he should have commandeered the Airforce Base and allow the regular scheduled flights for Omagwa to continue undisturbed. Lets not forget that when you halt or disrupt air travel like they did, it costs the State and the COuntry money somewhere, somehow. Whilst in the Air, I counted atleast 3 small Jets that flew by underneath us. I don't think it is wise to risk the safety of Thousands for the comfort of tens. (I hope you can understand)

2. Why did it take the death of the Foster Mother in Law of the President for that ELeme road to be fixed?! Just incase you do not understand the importance of Eleme road, let me explain it to you. Eleme ROad houses the following high priority National interests;

- Eleme Petrochemical Refinery
- National Fertilizer company
- Access to Onne Free Trade Port
- Access to Onne Port
- A lot of Oil & Gas Fabrication Companies and yards
- Its one of the entry/exit points from port Harcourt.

This road is so important to Rivers State and Nigeria that it a surprise that it as left in such abject decay. The traffic on that road everyday can drive you mad. But what it took to fix that road was the death of the '1st mother-in-law'. I'm sorry but if nobody sees a problem with that, I do. Or shoud we wait for Jonathans Mother to die for the East-West rad that leads from Port-Harcourt to Bayelsa to be fully fixed?!

You know that I have been a die-hard Jonathan supporter (only shifting sides when it involves Amaechi).

I voted for Jonathan and was going to vote for him again. But beyond my tribal and ethnic sentiments, I don't think I would be doing Jonathan any good if I don't call his fuckups out.

Ifu ife di njo, lets say it.

If that Plane had dropped out of the sky as a result of this VIP priority access crap, Threads would be here on Nairaland floating around speculating what went wrong with Stella Oduah and NCAA taking the blame, ut we te passengers would be 6 feet underground (if we are lucky) and our stories would never be heard. I reminded you that DANA Air was kept in a holding Pattern that resulted in the death of over 150 people because we had 1 VIP passenger flying off.. grin

Mba nu, oburo otus ka anyi kwesili I na ebi na obodo a.
If I start to type about that onne road I would be in tears before I finish. For many many months people have toiled on that road in fact if it's Wednesday you work in onne and you dey office by 5 pm and you intend to take you and your vehicle home that day na midnight things.
The irony is that it is a federal road and I remember once it was so bad that a company near that akpajo junction on the road had to fill the gullies with Hardcore, Nna ehn they entered big yawa with ferma - their crime was that they were 'spoiling' a federal road.
If I no join politics ehn..........

@ Post:

Madam, I grew up with the mentality of whats mine is hers and whats hers is mine. Equality all round.

However.. In a union, its always right to define roles lest everyone runs around chasing their dreams at the expense of the greater good of the family. I'm sure our forefathers forsaw this thats why they created roles for each party in the relationship bearing in mind who the stronger party was and giving that party the hardest role and making the weaker party have lesser but equally crucial responsibilities.

You asked how many of us have proerties in our wifes names? ANSWER: I do. My father also does. Infact, any car in my house that carries only one persons name on it was a gift from the other partner to that person. The lands and houses all read Mr. & Mrs. The ones that dont carry Mr. & Mrs. bear the company name of which they are both the principal share holders & directors in the company.

YOU WOMEN ARE SELFISH

Look at the way the OP's post put it like the women are slaves.

When a man works and toils hard at work everyday, what is his ultimate purpose?! TO PROVIDE FOR HIS FAMILY (which includes the wife).

Look at what you women are here advocating. Chasing your dreams. To benefit whom?! Yourselves! So that you can make money and be equal to your husbands financially abi?

Or do you think it is a Mans dream to have a woman spend up all his hardwork?! No! But he does it as his responsiblity and sacrifice to his family. Look at me for example. I make enough money to lounge and ball like I want. But hey! I am forkig over my earning every month to my wife who already makes money just because that is what is expected of me.

You women should please ease off this gender eqaulity crap & slavery nonesense.. We are both slaves to each other in the relationship.
Mazi Okija! I hail.

@topic, we have experimented this union called nigeria for over 60 to 100 years without any positive thing to show for it,so why can't we experiment another diagnosis to know weather we can get it right this time.
I love nigeria but nigeria have never showed me any likeness for once rather she keeps denying me my basic right.

Nigeria cannever work the way it is now.
There is no divide button to press, the only way this country would part is through bloodshed simple.
Obviously you were not around the last time it happened, with the proliferation of weapons now through the whole of the arab world your basic right to type what you like on this forum would be for VIPs only.
Look at Libya for instance, Gadaffi united the whole country in hate or well most of it. The minute he was gone then all the various tribes started to remember the feuds they used to have with the people they fought side by side, today the country is worse off and there is no telling which direction the country would head to.
Splitting this country would never ever ever ever happen. The earlier you sit up and practice actively in the process that would bring about good governance the better for us all.

Nigeria is not sitting on a keg of gunpowder.
One fact remains that this country cannot split without blood being spilled before, during and after the split. For all ye E-Gladiators that think its by taking a knife and carving it you are all sorely mistaken, this country is way too diverse to split evenly anyways......along which lines? Religious? Ethnic? I am from the Niger delta, but that region would be the first to go up in flames if Nigeria does. Politicians in charge of the oil wealth would be way too powerful and those who say simply when they are tired its easier to throw out a bad government, thats easier said than done.

Even if Oduah was a Minister in the Republic of Igbos, the people from Anambra state would feel marginalized that their princess is being attacked by the other Igbo states. Even if it was the Republic of Anambra, the people of her local govt would stiil complain......the point is people would always see things that divide us regardless. The average Nigerian is first loyal to his stomach, before his tribe and Nigeria.

Nigeria's strength lies in its diversity, we need to practice true federalism and tackle our problems as they come. Any major conflict in this country would set us back a minimum of 30 years.

2ndChance: @chaircover
I have tried to respond to your questions to the best of my ability with the bolded comments below.

Have you given her any reason to doubt your faithfulness to her and she feels that she can be traded in for another model any time soon.
Well I am always blunt on issues but not to the extent of threatening her with another mistress except may be in her imagination.

When you were earning 8X than her, was she given any say in how you spent your money and was she involve in decisions and did she have free access to that money or she had to justify or ask you for money severally for each penny you gave her.
The money was "our" money, that was the policy and I made sure she had equal say in the whole decision making process. We always agree on the best decision together.

When you were purchasing/building your own properties was she involved in it even though she wasn’t putting money down to give her a sense of belonging. Was she able to pick and choose things, eg colour schemes so she sees it as "our" house rather than "your" house?
She was fully involved. She always signed as my witness on all our deeds of conveyance. She decides on most things while I execute

Do you say things like “my house” “ I will chase you out of my house” “ I don’t want Jack or Jill in my house”?
It's always our house, our money, etc. But when she became more financially bouyant, she introduced the concept of "my money" which devasted me the very first day I heard it from her. That was about the first time I used the phrase "I will not take this in this house". I think I have used it freely anytime I notice any untoward behaviour ever since

In what names are your current properties? If God forbid you die today, will she have compete access to all those properties or will your family tussle it with her and make her homeless. Who is your next of kin?
All in our names i.e. Mr & Mrs Lagbaja I kept the documents in an open place where we both have access to them. We don't have tussle over properties in my family. It's not a polygamous home and I have a lot of landed properties from my parents that I even don't know some. I advised my father the other time to sell off some of them I am not sure I can trace them if he's gone. My son from my wife is the heir apparant to all these properties including the one my wife and I have jonlty acquired. She is my next of kin on all my documents till date.

Does she get on with your family?

Of late, she doesn't get on well with my family because of some issues that emanated from the actions of some of these Priests around her in the past.

As her husband what have you encouraged her to do with all the money that she is now earning? or did you expect it to just sit in the bank or to be used on frivolities.
I have engaged her severally on the need to maximize the opportunity presented by her new financial status all to no avail. I stopped raising the issue the day she blatantly told me I was "poking nose" into her finances.

What is the general health state of your relationship until now?

It's been very smooth until like 2yrs back when I started challenging some of her changes in attitude

Does she feel comfortable and relaxed within the relationship ie she has given you both male and female children?

Yes she has

If she had come to you and asked for permission to build the house, would you have agreed

Of course I would have agreed and would have even handled the job because I have a lot of good builders that I have used in tha past. She knows most of them as well

Re the pastor issue . . .that I don’t subscribe to and that man shouldn’t have gotten involved in that or found a way to let you know from the onset. Men of God should not take sides and definitely shouldn’t do anything that will jeopardise a marriage. They should be fixing and not breaking.
Thank you. Surprisingly, the same Priest declared us husband and wife about 10 yrs ago proclaiming "what God has joined together, let no man put asunder". Hilarious! Isn't it? I wish it was possible for me to vomit the communion and wine he gave me that day on his face now. angry angry angry

You say that she has asked for forgiveness. Is it genuine? If it is genuine have you asked her to honestly tell you why she took those steps.
Initially, she sounded genuine with her pleas for forgiveness. But right now perhaps after some consultations she's cooking up lies to justify her action, not willing to discuss the issue and becoming aggressive at the same time

You need to know the “why” so you know what you are dealing with. If you are satisfied with her answers, then you both bridge the gaps and move on.

She's not talking yet. Have engaged her like four times since I raised the issue. She was remorseful and apologetic at first with a promise to open up later but now, is becoming aggressive and keeping mute

I would however say to watch what she does with the house. If she is genuinely sorry, she will hand over the keys to the house and tell you to take over the maintenance/collect rent/look after the house even though the house remains in her name.

Really not interested in the building but just want to know that rational behind her not informing me cos I fear she may have some more shockers in the waiting especially with her now aggressive approach to the issue
Nna ehn warrraaaayou waiting for?
She is becoming aggressive on top!

GamingRe: FIFA Or PES: Which Do You Prefer? by Chrisbenogor(m): 3:33pm On Oct 24, 2013
Having played both these games through the years back and forth through the different series I still am of the opinion that PES edges Fifa, it all depends on how you get your freak on.
Fifa - If graphics are your thing (well up till 2014 where the PES fox engine totally anihilates it), if you need the name of arsenal to be arsenal. Konami has an uphill task here, while fifa can basically grab most of the stuff i believe for free konami finds it harder to get the license. Commentary I agree as well fifa edges PES, thats about it for FIFA. IF you enjoying playing shots at awkward angles using a players weak foot and watch it rifle into the net then fifa is your thing.

PES - This is for people with a football sense, PES 2013 is still for me the best soccer game ever. When I say to people that PES has a heart people never understand, but when you play a game and do what you would love to do in real life and you see it happen, smiley smiley smiley smiley that my dear friends is what fifa lacks. That last ditch slide, that first time high through pass, that shoulder to shoulder struggle between PEPE and ZLATAN------TOTALLY PRICELESS. For those who say defending is about holding X then kindly up your game, better still up the people you play with.

Nuff said.
