I am just saying if we will look at that matter with facts, we cannot drag GEJ for not finishing it, when he had less than a year to stay.

If GEJ had a track record of starting and finishing projects I wouldn't be so harsh on him but why make many promises you can't keep? Agenda for what GEJ used his own mouth to say he will do? If he knew he couldn't complete the 2NB within his first term why make such a promise in the first place? It's not like Jonathan was a JJC who just joined government when he made that statement. He had been VP for at least 3 plus years before he became president so he should have had a fair idea of how long projects of that nature take. You promised to build a house within a year I don't want to know if after 11 months you're laying foundation. izzou: I am not making any excuse for him. I have not.
I am only stating the fact. Its there for everyone to see.
The project began 2014. He handed over in 2015. How on God's green earth will you blame him for not finishing it, when the contractor needs 3 years plus to finish it?
The usual agenda was GEJ ruled for 6 years and didn't finish 2NB, whereas, the project began 2014. These are the facts, my brother. Let's not shy away from it
And if we start holding every politician by what they said, all of us would be throwing stones at Aso rock today |

The 2nd Niger Bridge was flagged off in March 2014
GEJ handed over in May 2015.
Are you expecting him to finish it in one year, when JB marked 42 months for the project?
I would appreciate a straightforward answer, your honour |

Fulham played on the deck sweet football in the EPL a few seasons ago but got relegated.

Nwakali's workrate is still not pro-level. That's why I smile when a few posters say he would have changed the outlook of our midfield yesterday. He would have found it hard to cope with the hard running and swiftness of the Algerian midfield. Think about it the only times we have been able to cope with the Algerian midfielders in the past was when we deployed a double pivot of two energetic midfielders in form of Ndidi/Etebo/Onazi and we still struggled. Playing Nwakali against that kind of Algerian midfield would make him retire from football prematurely. charlesemeka85: No matter how bad a player Onyeka is he is miles better and ahead of nwakali
Both has different playing style but in today’s football where coaches prefers agility, stamina work rate Onyeka will always be in top demand in top flight football than nwakali
Even if Onyeka decides to leave brentford today because of minimal playing time he will get offers easily in French,Belgian,German,Italian and Spanish top tier clubs |

Based on HERE and NOW of which you're the chief proponent Nottingham Forest is playing dour football. They could start playing sexy football this next match day but until then my opinion stands. I didn't know you have started writing works of fiction because where have you seen me ever give excuses for Nwakali? I will take it you mistook me for somebody else. komekn: First of all l lay greater emphasis on the HERE AND NOW in context.
When we say Lukuku, Kane, Vardy, Aubmyang are top strikers the word consistency is at the heart of It , because for over a decade they have been consistently outstanding, that's why they get paid outrageous Sims of Money.
Football is a short term career, so you have a very limited time span to prove your quality. First season can be excused, second can be compromised and third possible forgiven but at the fourth season. You are essentially written off until proven otherwise.
At this stage other players come into the equation for consideration. On the Here and Now principle in context.
On this Forum I once talked about Chuks Aneke, Fred Onyedinma, Tega Onomah, Moses Odubanjo, Dominic Iorfa, but I havent talked about them for maybe 3 seasons or more. Because they have not done anything of substance to merit a call to the SE, for a catalogue of reasons including injury and poor performance.
Which some of you here keep making reference to irrespective of how many seasons ago that was.
However, in comparison you give every excuse for Nwakali under the sun. You give undue preference, you even change the goal posts to accommodate him. You deny reality for fantasy. You create a unit of measurement that pertains to him alone, you enthrone mediocrity over quality.
After 7 years of football ⚽ your talent can not be hidden, it should be proven.
There is an intrinsic linkage between a players quality and monetary value that you cannot make irreverent. Once again because it's Nwakali.
You anchor ⚓ your deduction not on substance irrationality.
Last season Nottingham Forest with far less quality players in the Championship were able to beat Arsenal and flog Leicester city 4-1, in the FA Cup.
Do you think any Segundo division team could have beaten Leicester city and or Arsenal, l for one for one do not think so.
But you are quick to dismiss Forest as a team that plays poor quality football. Your prejudice had blinded you.
Finally I am not absolute about any player only God can do that. Nwakali may become the next Pogba but until he does we should stop the delusional fantasy. |

My thoughts on the game based on what I saw in the second half and Basco's highlights: 1. Algerians obviously dominated possession due to us playing a more direct style coupled with the formation that left us thin in the midfield which didn't have the right kind of personnel to carry out the task. 2. Our wingers and fullbacks were always in decent positions to cause damage but their lack of execution and poor decision making didn't give our forwards enough balls to utilize. 3. Onyeka, this is a strange one for me because he didn't have a terrible game infact this was one of the games he stood out for me performance wise but I can't just exonerate him completely for the goals like Nerdie rightly pointed out. 4. Defensive did ok. Akpors was the slight weak link. I love Bassey's game but he needs to become streetwise in his defending especially when utilizing his physicality many shrewd strikers will target him to win cheap fouls or get him sent off. Aina didn't join the attack as much as I would have liked especially in the second half. This defensive pairing like others have suggested should continue to get better understanding and chemistry. 5. Goalkeeping position is in God's hands now because how can we keep conceding saveable strikes from distance? 6. Workrate and energy generally was good 7. KC still struggling to discover his true role in the team after almost 7 years. 8. Subs didn't really inspire much. Once Awoniyi was introduced then I knew our ambitions of drawing or winning the game were effectively over. 9. JP is falling into the trap our previous coaches have gotten themselves into. Once plan A goes up in smoke we are toast. He fast needs to come up with formations that will allow us to always respond to situations within a game. 10. Big room for improvement but little slivers of hope here and there. 11. Iwobi is the man! |

Like Andrew said you're over simplifying the issue. Wages though a determinant is not the only way to judge a team's quality or lack thereof. Everyone knows that teams in Spain outside the top 3/4 are financial lightweight so you can imagine how poorly paid teams in La Liga 2 are. Compared to Championship clubs who enjoy huge financial windfalls. Most of the time they are able to buy a legion of players. Look at Nottingham Forest for example despite buying almost 20 players during the transfer window the quality of their football is still dour. I can bet the quality of La Liga 2 will still be decent quality in comparison to wages received. Don't get me wrong Nwakali still has a long way to go in his career but sometimes learn to appreciate people's small beginnings. Didier Drogba and Jamie Vardy didn't enjoy the greatest starts to their respective careers but look at where they are now. Nobody is saying you shouldn't give your honest opinions on a player but learn not to be absolute when judging how well a player will turn out. komekn: Please stop being academic and get real
The core motivation for players is to get the highest pay available in what is a very short term career.
Good players cost money there is no way you can get around it.
This club Ponferradina FC is essentially bankrupt, weekly wage bill for the whole club is €37k with a €400k deficit in transfer fees. Who will you sign of quality with that kind of budget.
What you will get is poor quality free agent's, loan youth players ( not the top quality ones) and players with failing or retirement careers.
Bruv you get what you pay for. Na beta money kill Soup.
Imagine a whole squad of players weekly wages €37k, dothe the mathematics and reason it. Divide it among a bare bones squad of 22 players. Some will have to have part time jobs. Which better player can you buy, it's peanuts.
You are literally moving towards semi professional wages in England.
That kind of budget is reflective of English league two lower end clubs. |

Udoka did a bone-headed thing but for goodness sake according to reports it was consensual! Plus it was with some member of the non-coaching staff so it's not like by sleeping with him it would have seriously improved or hampered her career whoever she is. To the best of my knowledge it's not as if Ime has previous queries against him. Forgiveness ( not you ogbeni) no dey their dictionary? GEJ had more money at his disposal yet the railway he could have used as an achievement he didn't finish it. GEJ at the very least spent 5 years enough to do something with him earning the highest revenue of all the administrations yet nothing concrete to show. Why shouldn't 2nd Niger Bridge be celebrated by the APC? The PDP from OBJ, Yar adua to GEJ used the promise of that bridge to campaign in the SE. I'm very sure if PMB didn't complete it people would have said it's a Northern agenda against the SE. You're right that a lot of the stuff we celebrate here are basics in developed western democracies, but if you're praising your favorite politician for doing those same basics and castigating some else for doing something similar it doesn't hold water. A40: All Buhari did was finish what GEJ had built to advanced stage
Just like if for some reason the 2nd Niger Bridge is stalled and Obi takes over will we say it was Obi's project? Obviously not
How long did GEJ spend in power? Buhari had been struggling with this bridge over 4 years now despite serving uninterrupted 8 years
I'm saying these are projects you do quietly without noise especially considering the amount that has already been spent on it. Which is obscene |

Chief GEJ never finished Abuja-Kaduna it's this same 'totally useless' PMB that finished it. Lagos-Ibadan railway nko is not praise worthy? Second Niger Bridge is no big deal but OBJ and GEJ were celebrating 'start' of project. Even your main man Obi was there when GEJ Commissioned 2NB drawing There are many things you can use to hammer this current administration but down playing infrastructure is not a serious opposition strategy. A40: All I'm saying is that's not a project that unnecessary noise needs to be made about. Especially considering their other numerous failures.
A bigger project is something like Abuja-Kaduna rail which Jonathan was able to do not a 1.6km bridge |
