Much of our prayer life can sometimes become about how much faith we have. We think that our prayers are answered when there is maximum faith and minimal doubt in our hearts. Otherwise it's best we try again.

But the power of prayer lies not on our faith, but on the finished work of Christ.

Faith is wonderful, and the Bible says that it is faith that pleases God. But is it also the determinant of whether our prayers get answered and how fast they get answered?

So much of the teachings on prayer nowadays focus on having more and more faith. These teachings say:

● "You should believe God more when you pray for the sick."

● "Stop doubting when you pray for financial provision and God will open the flood gates of heaven."

● "Your family isn't saved yet because when you pray, you don't pray with conviction."

Faith is important and vital to our everyday life. But do we really gain more faith in prayer by believing more and learning to doubt less? Isn't that in essence trying to get our prayers answered by our own strength?

When we think this way, then we fail to realise how faith really comes. Faith comes not by our own ability to believe or our own ability to remove doubts.

We need faith, but sadly many of us have misunderstood faith. We think it's about how much we read the Bible, how much we think about God's goodness, how much we shut out the fear when praying, or how much we cry and kneel when praying. When we think of faith this way, it now becomes faith relying on our attempts and no longer on God's power.

Hebrews 8:1-2 reminds us that it is through Jesus alone that we can now approach God in prayer. He is the high priest that mediates for us and stands on our behalf before the Father to come to His presence and offer worship, gratefulness and petition. That's why we end every prayer by saying "in Jesus' name."

Many believers pray today thinking it's their faithfulness that will get prayers answered. We watch for keywords, traditions and rudiments unawarely thinking that's what will get our prayers answered.

Even the simplest of prayers will be answered when we realise that it's God's faithfulness and not ours that answers prayers.

God's faithfulness to hear and answer our prayers does not depend on our rudiments, our works, or our ability to shut our doubts and fears. It's God that works out our faith and it is His perfect love that casts out our fears.

Now to business, I heard she was preaching in a Muslim dominated area and also close to a mosque. Now that's foolishness in her path. The bible never advised anyone to invade another religion as its seen as tempting fate and provocative. Did she asked why no man of God, even the one with strongest anointing have never gone to countries like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc to preach? Even her GO with all the power and wealth has never attempted to. NIGERIA is a religious country made up of various religious practices. You are not allowed to go to another mans domain and try influence him/her to worship yours when he/she has a solid reason reason to keep practicing his/hers. That's called invasion of another's religion. Yes it's bad she was killed but know that the people she was preaching to are known for their jihadist mentality and killing for Allah is rewarding to em. You want to preach, then go to a Christian or neutral dominated zone not to a Muslim, Pagan or Atheist zone cos these guys got no chill and they can only be arrested by the Holy Spirit. In conclusion, sorry ma, and to her family. But next life practice both Christianity for faith and reality for sanity.

Uhm.....first and foremost I will like to re-inforce the fact that being a christain does not necessarily mean going to church or having a mental assent that Jesus is the son of God.The word "Christain" means Christ-like and from your contribution I wonder if you are because Jesus says go into all the earth and preach the gospel.He did not say unless the area is already being dominated by other religions and what she did is just simple obedience to the word of God.
Again let me remind you of Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
So you see its not about about life or death.Its only a wicked man that will pass someone who is drowning and not do anything to help as a good swimmer and I firmly hold to my belief that no man can be saved or make Heaven without being born again.I am not saying it because I heard so but because I have experienced it myself and I think you should too.

Only Allah knows what really transpired between the woman and her assailants that day. She might be preaching inciteful messages that were too hard to bare. Even tho i condemn the action of the killers, by preaching around a mosque makes her actions daring. It's like an imam coming to preach in a church territory. I suggest the government ban street evangelism so cases like this can be averted in future. It is wrong to go around with megaphone and start preaching as early as 5am when people are resting. Those who blame Islam for her death are just displaying ignorance. We cannot use the action of few to judge the entire muslims. Islam remains a peaceful and tolerant religion.

I guess you should also stop your morning prayers that disturbs the hell of out me in the morning.
I still wonder why your religion delights in bitting the fingers that want to feed you.You are suggesting that they ban the only means by which men can be saved.What hope is there for you?I feel so sorry for you.

For those that qouted me please understand that this is my opinion and an opinion is entitled to everybody, I just believe that death is something most sane people would do anything to avoid and only stupid or mad people can walk right into it ,

One thing u shld also understand is that death does not necessarily mean the exhaustion of life but a passage into enternity.You may regard her as foolish but wherever she is now is much better than where you will ever be on the surface of this earth.what will it profit you if you gain the whole world and suffer the loss of your soul and of what use is it that you are extra careful to avoid death and then after staying here for 120 years, you spend the rest of enternity in hell.
Summary: If you had the attitude of christ you wont think the way you do.God help you.

Dont mind those people that are just adding more salt to injury.The truth is that there is no guarantee that they would have done better if they had the same problem.Ignore the advice of those that are telling you to get married to solve your problems.Never make a parmanent decision over a temporary issue.I have an aunt that had a similar issue and got married to escape it.Now is she regretting the decision.I am not saying that you should not get married o but at least for the right reasons.
Now about your case; I really undetstand and i know its not easy but keep praying and holding unto God.He will surely do it.Remember that when a man's way is pleasing to God even the man's enemy will be at peace with him.Everyone has a trying stage to go through in life and yours seems too challenging but when God gets ready to bless you, you will forget all these troubles and you will narrate them with laughter.The scripture says that eyes has not seen,ears has not heard nor has it entered into the heart of any man what the lord has in stock for them that love him.Just hold on and keep praying.You may be surprised at how their countenace will change and even if it dosen't then help will come from somewhere else.If u attend a good fellowship then you can narrate your ordeal to them.while i was in school such issues were taken care of.
Above surrender your heart to Jesus If you are yet to do so.Its not a promise that once you do so things will change like magic but their are God given potentials which you posses that you may not know about until you become born again.Honestly if I had money I would have loved to help you and I know that there is someone out there like me who will also love to help and who has the resources to do so.May God lead you to such a person.

There is a diffrence between being a christain and being born again.I knw those words have been reduced to mere rules but really, Jesus is real.He is not just some God somewhere.I wld advise you to genuine cry out to him to save you and receive him into ur heart by accepting what He did on d cross for u .If u are already born again then be rest asdured that he that is in you is greater than he that is in the world .Your mother has no right over your life beacuse it belongs to Jesus.I shall join you in prayers but just jnw dat God is going to see u thru.Who knows,maybe he has allowed all these to happwn so that he will bring u closer inorder to manifest his power.so dont misuse this opportunity.
