All these crazy people again! Davido didn't know Junior Pope even when he was alive. He had no business or any connection with him; not his friend! So what's this noise about Davido not respecting Junior Pope's memory ? Uche MADagwu or whatever nonsense he calls himself should find something doing,he seems very jobless! |
The Iranians are scared of attacking Israel because they are quite aware of the grave consequences of such action! Israel will never allow Iran to have nuclear arms. It is therefore a matter of time, the inevitable war between Israel and Iran will happen. It MUST happen for the security of Israel and protection of its interests in the Middle East. Israel is ready to provoke Iran to a direct war so as to be able to finally cut off the evil snake's head which Tehran represents. Even if Iran refuses to retaliate against Israel for the bombing of its consular building in Syria, and especially the killing of its revolutionary guards' Generals and soldiers,Israel will still launch another attack against Iran very soon! |
PresidObi:When your father's peers are having a discussion, you should remain quiet! The subject matter here is clearly far beyond your basic understanding! Now, run along; your peers are waiting! |
Chibuezem:Why should I or anyone feel offended by the gibberish you spewed above, coming from a money-worshipping criminal who most certainly used his own father for money-making rituals? How can you have respect for anyone's father when you used to beat yours regularly before deciding to use his oblong head for money-making rituals? Isn't this a vicious circle of generational curses for you guys, right from the days of your progenitors in the enslaved camps of the Ijaws? Everybody is talking, yet a descendant of these 'things' here thinks he has any idea, people with no prominent ancestry or any civilization worthy of being celebrated... just a bunch of primitive cannibals!
|
wizelink:I said it earlier, yours is an acute case of narcissistic personality disorder! You're delusional; you assume in your flat head that you're bigger than your actual size! A nobody like you feeling funky! What is there to know about the people whose forebears were still walking around butt-naked as recently as the 1930s? You're mentally deranged, I swear! Lol! Exactly what we are talking about—your poverty-stricken people are already eating themselves, but an empty chest-beating fool like you is here talking about feeding other people! Take it or leave it, your primitive hinterland-dwelling tribe is not rated by anyone; come down from your high horse, Chinedu!
|
As expected, those who wake their fathers up with a kick to the buttocks in their villages don't see anything wrong with this highly sacrilegious act! I'm very sure, that young man is from the Dot-in-a-circle land of primitive hinterland bushmen! If that old Baba has a "Malu" in his pocket, the young idiot is as good as dead! It's just a matter of days for him to kick the bucket! Most elderly Yoruba men carry "Malu" around in their pockets;you hit them, you die! |
wizelink:Lol,you were so pained that you had to quote me twice! Igbo are indeed progressing such that Ekene Dili Chukwu,Young Shall Grow and other night buses keep bringing your poverty-stricken people from your erosion-ravaged land of primitive hinterland bushmen, they keep arriving in droves, but here you are beating your tiny chest about non existent "progress"! Typical loudmouthed fools;a bunch of NOBODY who think they are some sorts of VIP! Go and cure yourself of the narcissistic personality disorder you lots from that jungle of primitive beings are suffering from 'cause the symptoms are well written all over you in particular! It's a genetic trait of mental disorder you all from Dot-in-a-circle land suffer from. The underlisted are the symptoms you often exhibit: 1. Always craves for “the best” in everything! 2. Have a very fragile self-esteem 3. Have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance and require constant, excessive admiration. 4. Feel that they deserve privileges and special treatment. 5. Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements. 6. Make achievements and talents seem bigger than they are. 7. Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate. 8. Believe they are superior to others and can only spend time with or be understood by equally special people. 9. Be critical of and look down on people they feel are not important. 10. Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them. 11. Take advantage of others to get what they want. 12. Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others. 13. Be envious of others and believe others envy them. 14. Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited. 15. Insist on having the best of everything — for instance, the best car or office. At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they view as criticism. They can: 1.Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special recognition or treatment. 2. Have major problems interacting with others and easily feel slighted. 3. React with rage or contempt and try to belittle other people to make themselves appear superior. 4. Have difficulty managing their emotions and behavior. 5. Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change. 6. Withdraw from or avoid situations in which they might fail. 7. Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection. 8. Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, humiliation and fear of being exposed as a failure. Listed above, are what a typical Igbo, including you, suffers from! |
wizelink:With idiots like you around, always looking at issues through the prism of tribalism, it's just a matter of time before Airpeace goes under! Nigeria will not prevent foreigners from doing business here simply because the Igbo don't like it! If Airpeace can't cope with the rising competition in the industry, its management can diversify into something else - making gala wouldn't be a bad idea! Before you talk about putting anyone in the abyss, I hope you know that the shackles are still hanging around your enslaved necks?!
|
wizelink:"What exactly do you want the FG to do, barring foreign airlines from doing business in Nigeria because of Airpeace? People like you are the main problems of the Igbo; you just don't realize it. |
Lol! Foreign Airlines hate Igbo! If Mr Onyeama is not careful, it's his Igbo people that will ruin his business for him with their toxic mouths! Mtchew, mumu people ,everybody always hates them! |
Ojey1234:Japa strategy! |
Oh,this woman! May her soul rest in peace. |
robosky02:Thank you. |
Go Falcons! |
shortgun:Why is it so difficult for "Others" to respect the wishes of the deceased's family members?! By the way, what exactly is there to celebrate ? I mean what do you need a DJ for ?! The deceased family wishes must be respected! |
2mch:Which "shock of your life" can be more pronounced than this pitiable level of ignorance you're displaying here, kiddo?! How will you not resort to foul languages when it is quite obvious that the subject matter is way beyond your elementary pedigree! What on earth does the fact or no fact that you once lived in Benin have to do with proper historical perspective of the ancient city ? You lived in Benin and so ? How does that change the fact that Yoruba and Bini are two distinctive ethnic groups? If you're not suffering from chronic narcissistic personality disorder, you'll not be here arguing blindly that the Binis are Yoruba people! All the Obaguah Idases,Iyases,Osajiobases, etc who surround the Oba are all Yoruba men, right ?! Lol! You're a funny guy who knows nothing but pretending to know so much! Will it not be sensible if you had said that many of the Indigenes of Benin today are descendants of a union between indigenous Bini people and Yoruba people who formed part of the entourage that came from Ile Ife with Oranmiyan, which is a fact ? But here you are, pretending to be an Authority on a subject you know nothing about! Was Oba Eweka, the first Oba of Benin, not a product of the union between a Yoruba man (Oranmiyan) and a Bini Princess? Stop displaying your ignorance for all to see; Bini people are not Yoruba! I'm a Yoruba man and I know that our connection with the Bini people is the royal stool of the Oba of Benin which was established by a Yoruba man,a Prince named Oranmiyan from Ile Ife. He established the city - Ile Ibinu (Benin) as well but the land belonged to the aboriginal Bini. |
efogie:I put it to you that you don't know ANYTHING! The word "Oba" was alien to the Binis before the arrival of Oranmiyan to the location he termed "Ile Ibinu" which was corrupted by the Portuguese to become Benin today. Ogiso was the tittle of the aboriginal rulers of the land then. The word "Oba" was coined from OBAtala, being the first king in Yoruba land and he owns all Yoruba Oba's crowns till tomorrow! Is Obatala not a Yoruba deity today ?! Yoruba culture influenced Bini's culture greatly, it's not other way round ! Is "Oyegun" a Bini name ? That's a Yoruba man's name from a family or Compound of renowned tittle-holders in the community ! Oyegun is deeply rooted in Yoruba language and it means "the tittle is quite befitting". Words like "Iya Oba", "Olori", "Asipa","Balogun",etc are well rooted in Yoruba language as well;they are all Yoruba tittles which the Binis have retained in their vocabulary till today. Bronze casting which Benin is renowned for,all over the world today,is actually an ancient skill of the Ile Ife people that was taken to "Ile Ibinu" - Benin by Oranmiyan's entourage ! The general name for all Kings in Yoruba land is Oba,but each Oba has his own tittle which is derived from the family or town's panelgyrics. For instance, "Ataoja" of Osogbo is the tittle of the Oba of Osogbo. The tittle has to do with ancient Osun River and the river goddess. "Ataoja" means he who receives fish with his hands and that has to do with the history of the ancient town - Osogbo. Oba is never a word in Bini language,it is a word deeply rooted in Yoruba language and history. |
2mch:You need to get your facts right! First of all,it is "Ile Ibinu" but not "Ilu Ibinu" as you wrongly put it. Oranmiyan so named the place because he found the native inhabitants, the Binis,as a people who were too quick to anger, hence the name "Ile Ibinu". My argument essentially with you is that Bini people are not Yoruba! Facts : * Benin is the land of Bini people;it is not Yoruba land. * Oranmiyan connected Yoruba people to the city of Benin being the first OBA OF BENIN. He introduced Yoruba traditional monachial system of government,as being practiced by his Yoruba people of Uhe (Ile Ife),to the Binis. *Ogisos were the ancient aboriginal rulers of ancient Benin - Igodomigodo. *Bini and Yoruba people are entirely two different people but the Benin royalty ( OBA of Benin) is of Yoruba ancestry through Oranmiyan, the progenitor of Eweka ruling dynasty of Benin. *Yoruba was the official language at the OBA of Benin's palace before the arrival of the Portuguese and Spanish people. *The Benin capital was a metropolis that spoke the same language in the past as Itsekiri. History should always be recanted correctly. Benin city was a Yoruba city of around 50,000 population but in the suburbs today's Benin language was spoken. It was when the empire ceased to be an empire that the present Benin people entered the capital. However they are owners of the land and were the one that accepted a Yoruba monarchy who named the city "Ile Ibinu"- Benin and brought tens of thousands of Yoruba people who built the Benin empire. Portuguese and Spanish records show Yoruba being spoken in Benin and one of them described how the Imale okun,a Yoruba deity, was venerated by saying "Mo be o mo be o imale okun mo be o" which is a Yoruba language. Therefore the "Binis" (Yoruba actually) that came to Iwere- Ode Itshekiri spoke the same language as the Itsekiri. The same is true for the Bini that went to every other place but the Bini of today are Edoid people. To put it simply for you; Benin city was founded by Yoruba people but the land belonged to the Bini people. |
Stop fooling yourself, Oduduwa was not a Bini man! How could you people say that he was from Benin, yet he did not introduce a single Bini word or culture to the Yoruba people of Ile Ife? Oduduwa knew where he came from; far East, somewhere around today's Middle East. There are many archaeological pieces of evidence to back this up. A trip to Ile Ife in Osun State will clear whatever doubt you're having in your ill-informed mind. The ancient occupants of Jerusalem, Egypt, and other parts of the Middle East were actually Black people; various archaeological excavations, artistic works, and designs have proven that already. Do you think it is a mere coincidence that the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic inscriptions are found in some sacred places in Ile Ife and even inside the sacred forest of Osun Osogbo groove? If truly Oduduwa was "a Benin Prince" as you Binis want the whole world to believe, how come he did not introduce his native Bini language to the people of Ile Ife, but instead introduced a language that was the same as the one being spoken by the Kemets - ancient Egyptians?! This is why today, there are a lot of similarities between Yoruba culture and ancient Egyptian culture. These similarities are quite visible in the habits, manners, customs, and other cultural aspects of both Yoruba and ancient Kemets - the original owners of the Middle East. Please note that the Yoruba language being spoken today is quite different from the one being spoken by the Yoruba people of Ile-Ife before the arrival of Oduduwa. Now, check some of the similarities: Ancient Egypt : Yoruba: Wu (Rise) - Wu (Rise) Ere (Python) - Ere (Python) Horise (a great god) - Orise (a great god) Ged (to chant) - Igede/Ogede (chant) Sueq (a fool) - Suegbe (a fool) Ta (sell) -. Ta (sell or offer) Enru (fear) - Eru (fear) Kun or gun (brave) - Ekun (brave) Ma or mi (to breathe) - Mi (to breathe) Khu (to kill) - Ku (die) Hika (evil) -. Ika (evil) Edjo (cobra) - Ejo (snakes) Horiwo (head) - Oriwo (head) AK (male) - Ako (male) Mu (water) - Mu (drink water) Do (river) - Odo (river) Aru (mouth) - Arun (mouth) (Ilaje dialect) Ash (invocation) - Ase (invocation) Po (many) - Po (many/cheap) Budo (dwelling place) - Bu do (dwelling place) These linguistic resemblances further support the notion that Yoruba words bear similarities to ancient Egyptian words and provide further support for the historical and cultural connections between the Yoruba people and ancient Egyptians, among whom Oduduwa came to Ile Ife. In terms of artistic standards, both the Yoruba and ancient Egyptians demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and a sophisticated understanding of aesthetics. Both civilizations valued the representation of the human form, striving for accuracy and symbolism in their artistic creations. Moreover, both cultures employed art as a means of expressing religious beliefs, with sculptures and paintings serving as conduits for spiritual worship and storytelling. Now ask yourself, how come we are not comparing all these similarities between Yoruba and Bini people today if truly Oduduwa was "a lost Prince from Benin" or something?! That can't happen because Oduduwa was never a Bini man; he neither spoke the language nor understood Bini culture. Isn't it odd that it is Yoruba culture today that has a great influence over Bini people - from Yoruba deities to Yoruba names, language, etc., are quite visible in Benin? I grew up in Benin in the early '80s; number 11, Yoruba street, Iyaro, and Lawani street as well. Then, there was not even a controversy about the "Yorubaness" of the Oba of Benin; it was common knowledge. It is only today that the Binis are so desperate to erase the fact that their Oba is of Yoruba descent. Oduduwa was NEVER a Bini man; there is no single archaeological evidence to back it up, but there is numerous proof to show that he was an ancient Egyptian from today's Middle East. Oduduwa influenced Yoruba people very greatly with his ancient ancient Egyptian's culture, which is quite visible even till today. If he was a Bini man,he would have done same thing but he wasn't! 2mch:What are you saying, man?! Bini people had been existing before the arrival of Oranmiyan in Igodomigodo! Bini people are not Yoruba; they are a distinct ethnic group, very different from Yoruba. Oranmiyan arrived at that location, which he named "Ile Ibinu",with a very large entourage of his Yoruba people. They, of course mixed with the natives, indigenous Bini people through intermarriage and what have you. That's why, today's Indigenes of Benin are actually a mixture of indigenous Bini people and Yoruba who came from Ile Ife. Any Bini man with Yoruba name,e.g Oyegun,Bamidele, etc has Yoruba ancestry. The first Oba of Benin himself was a product of a Yoruba man, Oranmiyan and a Bini Princess. Bini people are not Yoruba, but the Oba is of Yoruba descent.
|
2mch:First,you need to know that there is a clear difference between Benin and Bini. The formal is the city while the latter is tribe (people). Bini are not Yoruba people but Benin, historically,is a Yoruba territory. Take this as a sacred truth. |
Emir01:The Binis are not Yoruba, but their Oba is of Yoruba descent. Please, know this fact and keep it as sacred truth. |
aikyg:No,it was Edo and Delta, old Bendel State. |
airsaylongcome:Lie! The Yoruba people did not commit such an act and will never do so. You have fabricated a story to suit your narrative, which is entirely false! The truth is that the Yoruba people respect whatever Olumide Akpata or anyone chooses to call themselves; the Yoruba do not force any 'attachment' unlike some individuals from a particular region of the country. However, the fact remains as it is; a fact! Names such as Olumide, Omobayo, Tunde, Bamidele, Oyegun, Idowu, etc., are deeply rooted in the Yoruba language; they are Yoruba names. Those who claim that Akoko Edo people are not Yoruba simply do not know what they are saying. It's like saying Owo people are not Yoruba. Moreover, the key point is that the Oba of Benin is of Yoruba descent; it's a fact. |
Omobayo, another Yoruba! Truly, nobody can curse those whom God has blessed. Yoruba people are truly blessed! |
The guy causing the confusion, his name is Obinna, he is not even a Itsekiri Indigene. For several hours, trucks were delayed at NPA gate as if they are the lord I pity Warri people if they allow this Ipob guy from a tiny erosion-ravaged landlocked terrain to drive away businesses from Warri Port with his Nzogbu Nzogbu mentality! |
How do you form a vigilante group that's made up of just one ethnic group,Fulani only,in a multicultural state like Nasarawa ?! That's very dangerous for the security of other ethnic groups in the state, it's totally wrong! I believe everything Mr Bodejo narrated is the truth;it's very detailed with verifiable names, dates, and even traceable financial transactions. Even though Mr Bodejo had his own ulterior motives for to setting up the Fulani vigilante group, the truth is that he wouldn't have been able to establish the group or mobilize such a large numbers of men without the supports of the state governor. Governor Sule knows a lot about the establishment of that group. Badejo and Governor Sule are both dangerous men! |
Caeser37:Exactly! |
brain54:How is the Examiner wrong when the instruction states very clearly as thus; ".....read all 15 questions ESPECIALLY QUESTION NUMBER 10" ?! With the emphasis laid on question number 10,a smart student would first check out what's so important about that particular question before he or she would even start reading other questions. What you're complaining about here was exactly what the Examiner wanted to test: students ability to decipher WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT and treat as such! |
lawani:Stop embarrassing yourself,man! |
EreluRoz:Go on a three-day fast, read the scriptures, and pray for restoration of the Holy Spirit within you. What you've lost is not "the interest of going to church" but the Holy Spirit! You can ONLY regain it through FASTING and PRAYER. Do that, and you'll be fine. Shalom. |
