Sepsis: You read my post right? I’ve never complained. I’ve never mentioned it. Never brought it up. I support her by helping out at home. I go to the market, cook, run errands, and still work full time as a doctor plus side hussles. I think I am more hardworking and supportive than most Nigerian men are. That isn’t even something we should be talking about.
The crux of the matter is there. I wonder why most females responding to this post are conveniently avoiding it. Someone even tried to insult me above but I overlooked it. Are you guys saying that you don’t really get what the problem is? Sir don't mind them too many people without responsibilities on this platform... the thing is you may offend her feelings by telling her your thought. so why not just get her to get a gym membership that way she'll pick up and get the point. or you too could do it together that way it seems like it's something you want to do but you decide to draw her in. telling her to eat less is not going to work I have seen housewives eat its like the more time at home the more they consume out of boredom I guess. |

ConcNiggress56: This will be interesting
(Carries popcorn and 5-alive)
So, I've observed that my in-law is actually a yahoo boy.. I mean I thought he was a business man but what do they say about truth catching up with lies.
He married my cousin and my cousin is hardworking.. so, anytime, "client doesn't pay", my cousin funds the entire house needs for that period.
She's overwhelmed now and I saw her crying in the kitchen at some point.
My in-law doesn't like to play with his kids too. He shoves them away like cockroach and doesn't want them to come around when he's busy with his laptop.
It makes me cringe.
He's well to do though.. has 3 houses but no visible investment. Which means he only relies and burns off whatever his clients pay him.
Whatever he does, is none of my business but my cousin must not suffer..
Your turn.. Wow...sis you need to tell him to get his act right. I have friends n family in that same line of work. yeah it's common for them to collect n spend with no reasonable investment. no backstory too(if someone or the police comes up to you and asks you what you do they are speechless) it's all so sad. well babe knows what are hubby was into...guess she in iyanya voice "come for the money O" |

Luv9jawomen: Most oloshos usually have a certain look; they are usually tightfaced, bitchy and have haughty looking faces.
But this one is different. She has an innocent, girl-next-door face. I wouldn't have believed she was an Olosho if I hadn't seen her Dubai pictures and gotten other inside info.
But the question is, would you date this girl even though she is an Olosho? Are you calling djnipple an olosho...have some respect man. |

bigtt76: I agree with you but then some tasks are regarded as less tasking for a Masters degree holder and may be the preserve of a lower qualification holder.
At other times, the employer's conscience may be pricked to think paying the employee with a master's degree lower than they deserve is not good especially when they can't afford it.
Some other employers may actually encourage employees who gained higher qualifications since it would help boost their image and go on to increase their pay in appreciation.
So it's a double edge sword, some appreciate it and pay if they can afford it, others out of shame may politely tell you they can't afford you. The selfish ones will continue to pay you pittance. Well Said... |

Also, I have a colleague who made a third class, he's currently rounding off his masters at unilag and will most likely come out with a distinction too. That's a huge plus if you ask me because most recruiters will be very impressed with such tenacity. Which every employer looks out for. So brother, it's even more paramount when one has a third class. okay nice...good to know... |

Education › Re: Does A Masters Degree Guarantee Jobs? by Chuky7(op): 1:50pm On May 06, 2020 |
slyfoxxjoe: It does not any longer. Gone are the days when a masters or a foreign degree guaranteed you instant job in Nigeria. There is an over saturation in the job market now of people who meet both criteria which means companies rely more on work experience now.
Just try to finish uni early. (Preferably under the age of 24) do few unpaid internships, if you have to, to get the ‘experience’ thing out of the way and then you should be good to go.
Otherwise your best bet is to rely on personal connections. Which is always the surest way to get a job in Nigeria. Thanks bro well said... |
Education › Re: Does A Masters Degree Guarantee Jobs? by Chuky7(op): 1:45pm On May 06, 2020 |
NigPatriot: A master's degree is very significant. Especially in cases, where the student didn't do so well at the undergraduate level. A master's provides a boost. Big companies like Mobil, Nnpc etc don't normally send invites to 2.2 and below. But they concede if you have a 2.2 plus a master's (with distinction). Also, in more recent times, BSc has become as popular as leaving school certificate, hence the need to step up your qualifications which will ultimately give you the edge. Don't listen to people saying, MSc is a waste of time. Trust me it's just one year sometimes 18months, but the certificate stays with you for life. Think about it. If you want to lecture, it's almost a must you have one too. Without further ado, if you have the chance to up your qualifications, please do. Thanks a lot you made a lot of sense what if you are on a third class level plus the masters |

bigtt76: Not always, in fact it might limit or hamper you if employers can't afford to pay your level of qualification. That's why sometimes people reduce their qualifications on their CVs to improve their chances. wow...that sounds bad really. after all the work you put in. there should be people willing to pay your worth |

Masters shud allow help u advance ur career once u stated bt here do to no work people without experience rush to do masters in hope to get a job without considering how lucrative the 1 or 2nd degree is.
U will be faced with thesame situation and challenges as b4 most likely unless u have smtn extra to offer. Nice thanks... |

Solatium: it pays when you are already on a job.
it pays at the long run if you like the sound of Msc attached to your name. it pays when you don't have to spend your savings to acquire one when the prospect of getting a job is not here. But you will be highly disappointed if you think it will land you an automatic job slot,so many people with Masters. the only degree I know that you have a job guarantee on is PhD okay that made sense...like my cousin... why is that so... |
