[size=21pt]When they fix Enugu-Onitsha expressway and Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway the way they had fixed Ibadan to Ilorin expressway and are currently using Julius Berger and RCC to do the Lagos to Ibadan expressway with a whopping N170 Billion Naira, then i will breathe the fresh air in the South East too! Although, i must concede that GEJ is the ONLY Nigerian President truly dedicated to improving the infrastructure of the entire country without the usual discrimination and exclusion of the South East roads from the national budget, for now, i am still holding my breathe because it is still all "Promises" which we have become accustomed to with Nigeria's tribe of corrupt Politicians GEJ must work through.[/size] |

I can't believe people are people responding to this yeye thread. The man went and got every horrible picture of Anambra from about 4 years ago and posted it..... and you all are here feeding into his junk instead of verifying when the pictures were taken and the true situation on the ground. The picture of Nkwo triangle Nnewi around Igwe Orizu's statue was taken by Sahara reporters in 2010 and published in 2011 following the death of Ikemba to ridicule his hometown as a slum. That roundabout and adjoining Nnobi road have not only been fixed with drainages. Buildings around the triangle itself have been demolished as it is being prepared for the construction of the Shoprite Mall in nnewi. Nairalanders should be a little bit more discerning when those 40 laptop warriors here start their propaganda to deceive us collectively. bestview: This is Onitsha!Bros take more pictures abeg. A picture speaks louder than a thousand words. The only thing i think Peter should learn from Fashola is that instead of employing 5000 teachers every week, who really will not teach kids anything because of the quality of training they got in the colleges of education. He should set up 2 or 3 landscaping teams to plant flowers and trees in open spaces and the major roads of Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi. Fashola literally transformed Lagos by creating beautiful parks and planting trees & flowers! Being fair to Fashola, i think it is a legacy worthy of emulation by other states of Nigeria where creating a conducive environment isn't a priority to the residents. 1 Like |

The main building with semi-circular glass finishing is NAL Towers in VI.This thread is to compare Fashola's achievements to Akpabio's and not compare Lagos ( A former Federal Capital and commercial capital of Nigeria) to Uyo (A rural town, just became a state capital in 1987) which is what you are trying to do. Since Akpabio and Fashola got into office the same day on May 29th, 2007, any project commissioned before 2007 pre-dates their time as Governor and therefore has nothing to do with them. The main building in the background is NAL towers, built by defunct NAL Merchant bank in the early 1990s. It was built when Fashola was still in the university and has nothing to do with him. Gen. Buba Marwa should take credit for those building using your logic.At least he was the Governor of Lagos when they were constructed! Please show us Fashola's achievements since May 29th, 2007 and not showing us Federal highways and bridges built in Lagos or buildings built by banks and Multinational companies as their corporate headquarters in Nigeria's capital since 1980.
