I wish we can focus our energies on productive ventures than our primordial perception of "bad" states we don't like in our midst. This is just a precious waste of energy to always focus on the wrong & negative things while we are constantly and gradually being made true second class citizens in a country our fathers fought for her independence. |
Afam4eva:Mister Afam, Just for your information, you are not more literate than many Igbos and neither are other tribes in Nigeria more literate than Igbo. The problem is that an average Igbo person is taught to work hard but the average person in western Nigeria learns early how to be subversive and insidious. You see the same attitude here how people create funny monikers and argue age-long Yoruba or Fulani ethnic points of view or stereotypes of Igbos, while swearing they are "Igbo" These people who come here claiming to be Igbo are not are not crazy as you may like to think, they are doing it for a purpose. Since you are not raised to be insidious, you will not understand their ways. The people pointing it out to them that no Igbo person will gleefully accept the injustices of Nigeria as non-existent are right in doing so. Those fakers can come out with names as Abdullahi or Ogunlana and argue their point of view decently. Instead they choose Eze or Nnamdi thinking they are fooling anyone but themselves. I agree with those that said folks should simply ignore them and that is what every reasonable person should do. It still won't stop them from using other silly monikers to respond to themselves, but at least we know this is a mad man talking to himself and hoping somebody will respond to their trash. |
horsepower101:Let us hope what you have said is true. I know Ebonyi governor resisted investment to resuscitate the company because IBETO chairman was from Anambra. I grieve when our people fail to think globally. If you insisted that a set percentage will be local content will be part of the deal with even foreign investors, then it's a different thing. Why would you flat out reject an investor because he is from Anambra? Yet you are willing to sell the same factory to Dangote? We are in trouble the way our people reason through the anus. I will be happy to see the company running and giving us quality cement we used to get from NigerCem. All the houses built in 1970s & 1980s in SE were built from NigerCem. There was nothing like building collapse then, even though the architects then were not really qualified. Since Dangote flooded Igboland with fake cement he calls 42-R, which always cracks walls and takes several weeks to dry or harden, buildings have been collapsing like pack of cards in Igboland |
Now seriously, I have read this Op's previous posts and i know he isn't Igbo. So if he is not Igbo and not Yoruba, he is very likely a Fulani guy. Now why do Fulanis always incite bickering between Igbos and Yorubas? What do they really want to achieve? |
horsepower101:Word!! |
TundeBricklayer:I don't know why the guy didn't want to be posting pictures of Ibadan instead of looking for old pictures of Anambra to post. Now, i'm beginning to understand Ibadan better ![]() |
spyder880:This looks like Asata, most likely Udi road as you approach St Mary's Church. There is a restaurant i used to eat there behind St Francis Hospital. An obiagu guy like me cannot miss any location in Asata. |
ckenneths:Imagine how many jobless youths now who could have had very good paying job if this factory were not abandoned? Even the effect on economy of Ebonyi and neighboring states. Not to mention the IGR Sometimes i think our leaders behave how they do because the followers have not suffered enough to complain vehemently. |
ANSMEDIA:Not bad if they will actually plant tress and grasses along roads, roundabouts and institutions as schools, hospitals and even churches. They should mandate people to plant trees and flowers around their houses. Driving around nice cars with nice pictures on it without even a single tree or flower to be planted somewhere is not in our interest |
lillan042:This is actually what happens when gutters are built in such shabby way that water cannot flow into them because the edges are higher than the road level. Our people must realize that without gutters, our roads cannot withstand 6 months of rainfall. Also when gutters are built so shabbily that the edges are higher than the road level and water cannot flow into them, then it's almost as if there were no gutters and the same effect will happen on the roads. We need to take gutters seriously or these types of occurrences will always happen. |
mktinsight:NONE of the SE states allow Okada in their major cities! Even Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom where Okada used to be the only means of transport banned that primitive method of public transportation in Abakaliki and Uyo several years ago before Anamabra did. Those people asking for Okada to return to Anambra are merely dreaming. Anambra is moving forward into the future and not retrogressing backwards. I only regret that Peter Obi and Ngige didn't have the political will to ban Okada when other states in the cuntry did. So it created an anomalous situation where it appeared Anambra was the ONLY state where okada was okay and it was not in Asaba or any other Southern state INCLUDING LAGOS! |
nnamdijonathan:As if i have not lived and still live in Lagos. YOU ARE YORUBA. All your previous posts in other threads with anti-igbo slurs reveal your identity. It isn't bad to be Yoruba and argue as one. I don't know why you lots always think Igbos will not listen to you just because you are Yoruba, so you must pretend to be Igbo. Yet, your posts give you away too many times. I know your next move will be to create a new moniker and start pretending again. You will still be found out even if you create 2000 monikers! |
hammer6F:Ndigbo don't need a secret army.At least not now. We might need a military wing of the struggle if Buhari type individuals continue their unprovoked killing of Ndigbo in Igboland calling it Python dance or whatever. But if we plan a military response through guerrilla means, we must dot thoroughly plan every inch of the struggle because we cannot afford to lose it. Right now, i still believe it is not necessary because Buhari simply wants to lure us in that direction too soon before we are ready by provocatively carrying out military operations in the zone even in peaceful periods. All Igbo needs for now is think how to develop their region without begging the Federal Government. The minute you achieve the mental emancipation of knowing projects that will change lives of our people and figure how to raise the funds and implement them without much government interference, then you have truly overcome. Ndigbo both in Nigeria and diaspora need to unite and begin to pool resources together for key projects. Our inability to mobilize & organize is hurting us badly. We still have Igbo stuck in the primitive ideology that they must be Chairman of every gathering. That is why the best way to mobilize is through town unions and kporakpo type organizations which are part of a greater umbrella Igbo organization. That way, the cravings of some people to be chairmen of their town unions or state kporakpo union will be achieved, while the national Igbo body still focus on its vision and mission of helping the Governments in the region prioritize and harness funding for key infrastructural projects. |
Xander85:He is Yoruba trying so hard to claim Igbo. I have always known his true identity because i read 100% of his posts here and elsewhere. There is another one that i have been reading all his posts. It might be his second moniker because they write in a similar way using similar English tenses. I am sure he chose NnamdiJonathan from (Nnamdi Kanu) and (Goodluck Jonathan) thinking these are names Igbos must like |
hammer6F:Truly, Igbo should not have ANY alternative than APGA. Let Igbo vote for APGA massively and at least secure that their land is governed by a party headed by an Igbo person. ONLY in Presidential elections should APGA abstain from presenting any Presidential aspirant, but can negotiate with one they can adopt from PDP or other parties. |
The 21 billion found has been cleverly switched to 12 billion. The next move is to drop the "1" and say they found 2 billion. Nigeria is a...... |
Its so sad what has happened to Nigeria's economy since 2015. Measuring the economic mismanagement through changes in our GDP alone, In 2014, Nigeria's GDP was $589 billion In 2017, Nigeria's GDP was $409 billion We depreciated and lost about $180 billion dollars in GDP size! Yet, nobody talks about it! Everything is politics, while the country is slowly dying from mismanagement! Someone without secondary school education is ruling Nigeria and we are clapping for him to kill the country. |
Igbos want to go, you hold them back because you want their oil. Yet, you complain that Igbos should go.. Please make up your mind. Time will come when these things may lead to bloodshed. |
Just as Nigeria need to address regional inequality in; 1. Producing Nigerian Presidents 2. Federal presence and amenities 3. Federal government infrastructure 4. Federal airports 5. Federal government parastatals jobs allocation 6. Federal government ambassadorial appointments 7. Federal civil service 8. Federal Police 9. Federal army 10. Federal representation and states |
Handsomegod:I have deliberately stayed away from this argument so that our people from both sides of the Niger can express their frustration and iron things out in a democratic discussion which is the hallmark of Igbo custom. Truth is that even in the same Ika family, one brother will be 100% Igbo and the other will choose to be 100% Bini or whatever. Now how do you judge that family? If you say they are Pro Igbo, you have not accounted for the half brother than is not. If you say they are anti-igbo, you have been unjust to reject the brother that is 100% Igbo. These things were engineered by Nigeria after the civil war to perpetually destroy the Igbo and make it a minority tribe in Nigeria. So all the Igbos at the border fringes of Igboland were approached by Nigerian vandals and through coercion or active collaboration, they got elders of those communities to declare they were not Igbo. These were all done to strip the former East Central State (SE region now) of any access to the sea and more importantly, an access to it's oil reserve. Ofcourse a lot of families took personal decisions not to break their Igbo identity and even encouraged their sons and daughters to marry from the East Central State, while many others gleefully accepted their new non-Igbo designation and pretended to be Nigerians of no ethnic group. In the newly created Rivers state the worst atrocity of confiscating Igbo properties was enforced and that brought untold bitterness between us. Everyone went to sleep and it was thought the Igbo was finally decimated in Nigeria. The Igbo quietly endured the loss of her investments in Port Harcourt and many parts of northern Nigeria and simply started again from the scratch. Today, Igbo has come up to speed with other people that stole their properties and these issues have come up for discussion about who is Igbo and who isn't. Firstly, every Igbo outside of the SE knows he is Igbo. They just fear that the behavior of their elders immediately after the war cannot allow them to say who they are without sounding hypocritical. Despite this bitter history, i would ask that we find a way to unite all our peoples again. That will be the best way to pay back the Nigerian vandals who engineered this division of our people to decimate Igbo in Nigeria. If Germany united her people from the Eastern and Western block many years after World War II, Vietnam united her people in the northern and southern Vietnam after the Vietnam war into the Vietnam we know today , North Korea and South Korea are still working out modalities to unite their people, it is only reasonable for Igbo to unite her people into an Igbo nation. For the process to be genuine, mistakes of the past my be acknowledged so that they do not happen again and forgiven. We must understand the need to unite our people when you clearly understand that the Nigeria - Biafra war ended it's shooting phase on January 12, 1970 but has continued through economic, infrastructural, political representation marginalization and all sorts of exploitation of the Igbo by Nigeria. We need every Igbo in this new tactics against the Igbo adopted by Nigeria, especially the Fulani dominated Federal Government and active collaboration of our Yoruba southern brothers. The moral of our history which we have refused to learn is that we MUST learn to invest at home. Today, the Igbo must learn to invest more at home than wherever attracts their fancy in Nigeria. Some of the greatest harm to Igbo economy by Nigeria was possible because most of her wealth were outside the East Central State which is the SE region now. Those that think the war of Nigeria against the Igbos ended in 1970 are still living a silly dream. It is very much alive today as the blockade was alive in the 1960s, they just decided to stop the shooting. If we FAIL to LEARN from these mistakes of our fathers and repeat the same mistakes in our generation, then just like our fathers we may suddenly lose everything through a silly "QUIT NOTICE" and again start from the scratch for another generation of back breaking toil just to meet up with those who stole our investments and properties. Let us LEARN from our past mistakes and vow NEVER to repeat them |
investnow2013:Investnow, Are these two different buildings? or one building repainted in a new color? BTW, i am so proud of you for ignoring that silly comment. Next is that we should stop quoting them. Just completely ignore them totally.
|
arinzeejikonye:Not bad at all. But truly, we should emulate international standard in everything. If we can have American standard in our building code for road sizes, it will be better than the disastrous British standard that has caused tiny, bending and winding roads to ruin all our cities. |
arinzeejikonye:I just want them to maintain very high quality African, Continental and Chinese dishes. If they can do that, they will swim in money soon as folks will associate their name with quality meals.
|
spyder880:I would not mind cutting trees if we had a culture that understood and appreciated the importance of trees in purifying the air and reducing the effect of erosion and wind damage. The tragedy of the SE today is that nobody plants trees anymore, yet the few trees that has kept the region from being blown away by winds and kept our environment health with clean air are rapidly cut and removed. That is the tragedy of the SE today. If we could only plant more trees, removing old ones for development projects wouldn't have mattered. |
omadeltason:Don't know your intention with this post. The Niger Delta militants have never been Igboman's problem, nor did they target Igbo people. Whatever intention behind your mischief, you will fail to achieve it. |
gidgiddy:The so called military operation in the SE against IPOB is not only uncalled for, but an act of gangsterism. There has not been IPOB rallies in the SE, there has not been any outbreak of violence or rise in criminality in the region. So why deploy tanks to patrol the region and harass bus drivers and Keke riders to pay them bribes? Then those who refuse to pay are shot and called criminals? Buhari is a shameless murderer. However, Nigerians should ignore such an evil President and go get their PVC now. Let him continue his misrule of Nigeria, it is soon coming to an end. |
OyiboUgbo04:God will bless Gov Ugwuanyi and posterity will always remember him for completing this edifice. It was so sad when i saw this edifice close up. Wow, all its previous roof had all fallen off. The glass was now dirty and the inside had tall grass like a forest! I wept for Enugu state. I am glad Ugwuanyi has determined to tackle this project and complete it. Hotel Presidential should be sold or leased for 50 years to a key hotel line such as Golden Tulip and the state's investment so far will be turned into equity which yields dividend for the state every year and included in state budget. |
We all know the poor quality of cement we are given in Nigeria today. Even blocks made from Nigerian cement always crack and brittle away. Let us keep pretending and playing games as more buildings collapse and kill people. |
mancanoe:If we seriously look for small packaging firm or a small service business opportunity, you can also make it big in Enugu. We have so much agricultural products to properly package from Smoked catfish, yam flour, cocoyam flour, frozen onugbu,Ugu, Egusi, Okra, frozen chicken, turkey, beef, fish. To setting up a a chicken, goat, pork or fish farm and package your products well to be sell-able in supermarkets. Think of anything that can make cooking easier and shorten the time, think of how you can add value to any product including boiled palm kernels. Try it out and see how you can preserve it through refrigeration or make the sauce used for Ofe Akwu and see if you can package it and sell. The millionaires of the future are those ingenious enough to know how to make life easier and sell the service not necessarily the hardest working.

phemsy1:Please why is the Ewu can beer posting Lekki Estate here? We are not interested in Lekki estate. We are interested in Enugu, Aba, Awka,Asaba, Owerri, Abakaliki or Umuahia estates. Please post it in a Yoruba or better a Fulani thread. Afterall, Fulanis have all the money and best jobs today in Nigeria. |
Buhari is a very bad person. He deceived Nigerians and now a lot of people have come to see his true wicked colors. He is threatening violence in 2019, but Nigerians will prevail. |
