BusinessRe: National Microfinance Bank Supports Smes With Independence Day Gift. by Cmeo(m):
The ownership structure of this National Microfinance Bank is wrong.

They could have allowed 10-20% of the shareholding to be with the public. With the current structure of 50% for bankers committee, 40% for CBN and 10% for Nipost. What this still mean is that SME are still at the mercy of these commercial bankers, whose interest is theirs only and give loans to those close to them only, never to be paid again with CBN bailing them out with our collective fund/tax and never to paid back again to CBN.

National Microfinance Bank is still the same wolf in the sheep clothing.

PoliticsRe: Fitch: Buhari’s CBN Policies May Drag Nigerian Economy Into Crisis by Cmeo(m): 7:55pm On Aug 28, 2019
nwakibie3:
Fitch, a credit ratings international organisation has disclosed that the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) under President Muhammadu Buhari might drag the Nigerian economy in crisis due to mismatch in economic policy management.

In the latest report released by Fitch, titled Nigeria’s Unconventional Policies Aggravate External Vulnerability, the organisation stated that the CBN’s recent attempt to boost economic activity through giving incentives to banks’ lending had clashed with the goal of maintaining a stable exchange rate, and this is not good for the economy.

Uncoordinated policies: Fitch noted that the CBN’s policy moves to reconcile competing goals through unconventional macroeconomic management and weaknesses in policy settings were raising medium-term vulnerabilities to shocks, and this could expose the economy more to falling oil prices or disruptions to hydrocarbon production.

- According to the report, tight management of domestic liquidity had been the key pillar of Nigeria’s exchange-rate policy in recent years.

- However, the recent measures to boost lending have contributed to a temporary loosening of domestic financing conditions. This has combined with falling oil prices and deteriorating investor sentiment towards emerging markets to put pressure on the naira.

- Specifically, one of the major policies cited by Fitch is the policy implemented in July, which includes a requirement for banks to have a loans-to-deposits ratio of at least 60% by the end of September and tighter restrictions on the amount of remunerable deposits that banks can park at the Central Bank.

Macroeconomic Pressures: Also, it was stated that exchange rate movement pressured the CBN to resume its liquidity tightening operations in August by auctioning Open Market Operations (OMO) bills, and to increase the supply of foreign currency, releasing about $800 million from its foreign-currency reserves between mid-July and mid-August.

- According to Fitch, these moves by the CBN have contributed to a rebound in domestic interest rates and limited the depreciation of the naira on the Investors’ and Exporters’ FX Window by 1% since the end of June.

- Hence, Fitch noted that the competing goals of preserving naira stability and supporting Nigeria’s fragile recovery were pushing the CBN towards increasingly complex policy measures, with a risk of aggravating external vulnerability or causing macroeconomic distortions.

- Fitch stated that the CBN’s policy of auctioning OMO bills to non-residents had led to a rapid build-up of short-term external liabilities with non-resident holdings of these bills amounting to $15.8 billion (4% of GDP) at end-April, equivalent to a third of reserves. This generates meaningful rollover risks, which could necessitate persistently high-interest rates, holding back growth and increasing the government’s debt-servicing costs

FOREX restriction on milk and food items: Fitch identified CBN’s recent move to intensify restrictions on FOREX access for imports that were imposed in 2015. While the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, recently called on the CBN to end FOREX for milk importers, the President has also announced restriction of FX access for all food imports, but according to Fitch, the scope, modalities and timeline of such measures remain unclear.

Also according to Fitch, FX restrictions are unlikely to foster expansion in the domestic food supply, as Nigeria’s agricultural and food sectors suffer from deep-seated challenges from infrastructure gaps, communal conflicts, insecurity and weather hazards. Instead, these restrictions could push more traders towards the informal economy and compound inflationary pressures.

On Nigeria’s inflation, Fitch noted that Nigeria’s Inflation at about 11% already raises the risk of an overvaluation of the real effective exchange rate, which could put more pressure on the naira and increase the risk of a sharp adjustment following an oil price shock. Withdrawal of portfolio investors would aggravate the potential balance of payment pressures.

$14m bond is too small for a tanker vessel. A tanker vessel cost around $100m - $300m. It is not a good judgement for Nigeria. The company and the Swiss govt can easily forfeit the bond because a tanker vessel is much costlier than $14m. In short before the case is finally adjudicated, the vessel would have made more than the $14m bond placed on it.

The judgement is good for Swiss than for Nigeria.

Flipmac:
Good day guys,
I work online as a freelancer on fiverr. I'm currently seeking a cheap town or place in Nigeria that I can get good supply of electricity (at least $12 hours or more). This is to enable me do online jobs and cut cost of buying petrol.
I would prefer somewhere cheap where I can get a decent self contain accommodation for around 70k. Also, I would like a place that has good security.

There's an old thread similar to this opened by a freelancer a few years ago but sadly I can't find it.

Please give me suggestions. I hear oshogbo is good choice.

Any other suggestions? Be as specific as possible. Thanks.
Ganmo/Amoyo area of Kwara State beside Ilorin. You are assured of 20 - 22 hours of electricity daily. You could also get an accommodation of that price range and cost of living is relatively cheap.

alBHAGDADI:
I find it funny how people who aren't even saved are now positioning themselves as Bible teachers. They think the Bible is some novel anybody can pick up, read and understand. They don't know that it is a spiritual book meant for those with the spirit of God in them. See what Jesus said about the Bible:

John 6:63 (KJV)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

You can't understand them unless you are born of water and of spirit which means you are born again. Till then, you are just a natural man who will always misuse the word of God or find it foolish.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

It's just like a Yoruba man complaining that he doesn't understand Chinese language. But a baby born to Chinese parents will understand it easily. Once you have the Holy Spirit, you will understand God's word which is Spirit and life.

Why did I go into the above details? The man in the OP believes he understands the Bible verses he quoted which speak of the law. The natural man he is sees the verses as saying the law has been done away it and has been thrown in the trash can, never to be followed or obeyed again. That's how a natural man reads the Bible.

Before I show you how a man with the Spirit of God reads the Bible, let's first of all expose the foolishness in the natural man's understanding of the verses he quoted.

According to him, the law has been thrown in the trash can because Jesus came, died and resurrected. If the law has been thrown in the garbage, kindly tell him to break the laws in Leviticus 18, which are mostly against having sex with one's close kin e.g mother, sister, father, brother, aunt etc.

Romans 4:15 (KJV)
for where no law is, there is no transgression.

Since he says the law is no more, isn't that also saying that it is not a sin to do those things? Let him go ahead and do them.

He quoted the below passage.

Galatians 3 vs 10 - 13
10 For all who rely on the works of the laware under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”[e]11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”[f] 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[g] 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”

Clearly, he doesn't know what the passage is saying at all. To him, the passage means if we obey the laws, we would be cursed.

One thing I would want you all to know is that the passage is talking about those relying on the works of the law as a means of eternal salvation. Paul is clearly saying that if you are depending on your ability to obey the law as a means of making heaven, then you are cursed. You are cursed because you can never continue in the entire laws without breaking one. You can't at all. See what Paul said:

James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

As seen above, Paul revealed that even if you keep the whole law and failed at just one, you will become guilty of even the ones you succeeded at. That is the curse of the law Paul was talking about. That's why he made it clear that depending on the law as a means to salvation is like cursing yourself to eternal damnation.

So what's the way to avoid depending on the law? The way is Jesus Christ who is the Way the Truth and the Life. You have to have faith in him to be saved. That way, there won't be any need to depend on the works of the law. As seen below, Paul said we are saved by Grace through faith, not by our ability to do the works of the law.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

So far so good, we have seen that we Christians are to obey the laws of God unless in cases where they've been specifically changed in the New Testament e.g dietary laws washing, worship, animal sacrifice etc. The anti-tithing can't show where the law on tithing has been specifically changed in the New Testament.

We obey the laws to live right on Earth. The laws have made us realise that it is sinful to sleep with one's next of kin, have tattoos, be homosexual etc.

But when it comes to salvation, we don't depend on the law because Jesus has come to save us from the curse of the law which hits us when we fail one despite passing the rest.

Find a Once Saved Always Saved Church today for more knowledge.
If going by your assertion that the law is meant to make us live right on earth, then the tithe law has been replaced by Personal/Company Income Tax.

A new update we got about the Gospel Minister who committed suicide in Abuja, revealed that he is not an RCCG member, but a member of Shepherd House Church, Apo.

According to Bennie Umoren, the deceased left the Redeemed Christian Church of God two years ago, and he didn't die because he was depressed over rent. The Facebook user who revealed that the Gospel Minister who committed suicide was not an RCCG member, further disclosed that his wedding was cancelled because of sexual relationship with another girl who leaked his nudes, hence he got frustrated because of the embarrassment.
