Canadianfly: So I haven't really written how far with me coz work and pikins had person hand full. My 1st attempt of IELTS last month was 7.5 in Listening and I knew I had to register again plus WES decided to sit on both my degree and Oga's own. Anyway, I took the 14th October test in Abuja....those who took it that day knew what we went through with regards getting everything to work and we left the venue at almost 3pm. My results today: Listening - 9 Reading - 8 Writing - 7.5 Speaking - 8.5
Overall band 8.5. Just glad I'm done with British council . And I'm very grateful to God. Nice results! Congrats. Pool dey wait. |

Seyitorl: Thanks sir. But there isnt any seal or stamp it was cellotaped in a Lasu envelope and addressed to a company and i have opened it. As long as the transcript is signed, sealed and stamped, you can send it to IQAS yourself. Use DHL. Have someone else do it on your behalf so your name is not the sender. You should be fine. They want the school to send it to avoid fraud. But they know what they are looking for (stamped, signed, sealed). Even if you school sends it and the seal is broken (often by reckless NIPOST, if you use them), they still won't collect it. But if the seal is broken, don't even bother. They'll reject it and insist you send another. |

Cherokee: Hello House, Please what NOC would you recommend for one with a job title as a Industrial Operator?... @einsteino,coctrane, Kontagious, 40Lappyman etc. Depends on which kind of Industrial Operator? Is it in logging or oil & gas or manufacturing or ships? You can look at 2233 for Industrial engineering-related operations, 8241 for Logging operators, 8232 if it's oil & gas, 9241 for power plants & power systems where you can have operators too. Do you move heavy materials with handling equipment? Then maybe 7452. Or if you are a supervisor of such heavy equipment crews, you can look at 7302. In any case, you need to be more specific. Also not very advisable to mention people. You run the risk of getting ignored by the people you did not mention. And those you mentioned may also skip your question in the hope that another of the names mentioned will jump on it. Personally, I think everyone should just ask their question straight. If you aren't getting a response, just repeat it again in a later post. Someone (or usually many people) will take notice the second time and offer you more solutions than you can handle. |

vulpeslopez: Hello guys, pls I would like to know how many months it would take to get PR and how much I need to have for POF for a me and my fiancee? There's no definite number of months. Scroll through the thread and you'll observe that while some have gotten PPR in less than a month, others are 5 months gone and are still waiting. A lot of factors come into play. Regarding your second question, CIC does not entertain applying with your fiancée. They want an application with a wife instead. Call them proper; they like people to get married. With a wife, i.e. two applicants, you'd need to provide POF of 15312CAD. That's about 4.3 million. As it stands, you can only apply for yourself and will need to provide POF of 12300CAD. That's only ~3.5 million naira. |

themaestro212: Hi guys. I am writing this as a follow up to a question I asked some weeks back and to tell how that went. Hopefully anyone who's in the same shoes can refer to this post. In my PR application, I marked "no" in one of the statutory questions asking about visa refusals. (I had been refused visa to a country after which I appealed and got the visa). I was not sure if this was a misrepresentation so I asked on this forum and I was advised to send a CSE with an LOE. To be safe, I sent a CSE with an LOE and an updated Schedule A form. CIC acknowledged receipt and did not require any additional documents. I received PPR last week. Below is my timeline.

Thanks for all the helpful posts. I wish you all the very best. Remember to commit your applications into God's hands. Congrats bro! Wish you the best. Thanks for the feedback too. |

Can WES evaluate my professional certificate from the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria as an addition to my BSc.

As for me and myself, Na siddon look I dey so, I estimated the whole process to take about 6 months and only after then will I start to get worried. Honestly the right position to take. Newmum0615: Hellp cochtrane,
How does this apply to the score one recieves from the CRS tool? While using the tool, I only have the option of 3 years or more. When completing the EE application, will there will a further option to select 6 years or more? I used to think that the score received from the CRS tool is reflective of what your score will be when you apply under the EE. Yes, while using the CRS tool you only have the option of 3 years. Express entry, the platform on which they decide whether you should get an invitation to apply or not, has 3 years as maximum number of work experience years. This is where you create a profile. However, you are applying as a Federal Skilled Worker. In that case, if you have 6 years work experience then you earn 4 more points than if you have 3 years experience. This is towards scoring 67 or more / 100. This is actually what determines your eligibility under the Federal skilled worker program. People who are applying for the Federal Skilled Trades (another program entirely) also need to submit their application under express entry. So, express entry is like a platform for everyone. You get? They also have different requirements to meet under work experience. They need two years of work experience as minimum, unlike those in the FSW who need only 1 year experience. This is why you need to take the eligibility test first. If you pass it with only 3 years of work experience, then you are good. Means you don't need the whole 6 years then. It's only 4 more points after all. 4 more points towards getting a 67/100; not 4 more CRS points. |

I'm 31 year old. I have OND in Accounting, I also have Bsc in Banking and finance, I have 3 years of working experience
My husband has a Degree in Insurance, he is going to be 36 next year. He worked for about 2 years with a company in lagos but he is now a self employ and doing good for himself.
Not written the IELTS just yet , we are about to kick start the process by registering with the WEs for our credentials evaluation.
* about the IELTS, is it the only principal applicant that needs to write the text or spouse too?
I have 2 kids and both have a dual nationally ( USA & Nigeria )
My husband and I have good travel history, hope that helps in any form ? It looks like you'll be better off as Principal Applicant. You need to make sure to score excellently on your IELTS and you'll be fine. Also make sure to evaluate your OND along with your BSc. Use this CRS tool to derive an estimated CRS score with the IELTS score you think you can get. The higher your CRS score, the more chances you have of getting an invitation to apply. |

PefHouse: I have a question on claiming Work Experience for Express Entry Application. Some of the companies in my past experience (Nigerian work experience) have agreed to give a reference letter while others won't. Can I simply exclude the the experience that does not have a reference letter? Will a 3yr gap in my experience raise a red flag or get me rejected? I need someone who is experienced in this
Company A (3yrs experience) - reference provided Company B (8mnths experience) - reference provided Company C (7mnths experience) - reference provided Company D (3.5yrs experience) - NO reference letter Company E (2yrs experience) - reference provided
Can I exclude company D from my application? OR can I include it and NOT send any re fence letter? What are the implications. Thanks PefHouse, I think there's need to prevent misinforming you. Firstly, have you taken the eligibility test? That's the first thing you need to do. Though you may need a max of 3 years to increase your express entry CRS score, you do need up to 6 years of work experience in order to boost your eligibility score under FSW. Minimum required in this case is 1 year continuous. So, my advice: get all the reference letters you can get. For Company D that doesn't want to give you reference letter, that shouldn't matter. But you do know there are alternatives if you are unable to get a reference letter? You could have a supervisor write one and then attach some other docs to it. This has been extensively discussed on this thread. But you can check here for more details. Exhaust your options before giving up on Coy D. However, if you are unable to get anything for Coy D, you should still be fine. Take the eligibility test while factoring out Coy D. But please get reference letter from company A. With your references from Coys A, B, C & E, you should be good to go. Finally, you should know that each of your work experience is only relevant if it belongs to Skill Type 0, A or B. You can learn more about that here. Regarding gaps, you have already been well informed. Gaps in your work experience can be moved into personal history and should have no effect on your application. |
