caon:Fax it to them |
Beckyhopeful:Congrats! Wish you the best in Canada. When you dey port? |
Osemigho:Amen o. Wish you all the best. |

Winter, remove your personal information on your post. |
kissoflife:Okay. Try that. I think it should work. |
kissoflife:Did WES evaluate your OND? If yes, you should fill it. That's what's gonna earn you the "Two or more certificate" thing you selected during your eligibility check. |
kissoflife:And you picked "two-year degree or diploma" for your OND? |
kissoflife:Did you select "Bachelors or program of more three years for your HND"? |
teephart:As advised by Glitteringstar, please use WES. They evaluate your ND+HND better to give you a higher points. |
walexlo78:You probably should. Trust me, I know how such passports look like. The VO will certainly not have the time to make out on your passport that you didn't spend more than 6 months in those countries. You would have helped a lot by delineating this in a form. So, CSE could be good. |
kissoflife:Can you look at this for reference? You need to input it exactly as evaluated by WES https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/388#55689419 Alternatively, I suggest you post your WES evaluation so guys can offer advice. You know the format of inputting has changed a bit and there's no more option for selecting "Two or more certificates". Please make sure to blot out personal details when posting the evaluation. And you'll remove it altogether afterwards. |
kissoflife:You entered the right amount of funds for the family size? |
teephart:You should be able to use your six-year work experience. Just make sure it's your desired NOC and you can get a reference letter to prove it. You may not need that managerial experience, since FSW maxes out at 6 anyways. 2) I have a fiancé, we're not married yet as we don't want to spend money on wedding for now. I wish to process my application with her.Yes, you can. I have not seen on this thread someone who did that though. But IRCC explicitly says you can apply as common-law partners. You just need to show proof. Check this link for the proofs you need http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=347&top=14 3) am yet to do my ECA, i heard IQAS is cheaper, which would you guys advise? WES or IQAS? I had my ND in another school.different from my HND. I don't mind the delay in time, i am after gaining a good CRS score and spending minimal. You probably know already that your ND & HND will provide you with "two or more certs" which will count towards increasing your score. WES or IQAS? I think IQAS is cheaper, but not by very much. Check their websites. I think WES is about 285CAD & IQAS is 275CAD. 4) POF, what are my options on getting POF, my salary account has a constant flow of monthly salary, but i do invest in lanes property so no huge savings, can i USE my RSA statement of Account? What if i sell my landed property and do a lump sum lodgement, won't that trigger an alarm? If you sell your land properties and do a lump sum, it shouldn't be a problem. What guys have done here is to tender receipts and other docs to support the lump sum deposit. And then a LOE to elaborate. RSA statement of account? There has been mixed feelings about that on this thread. it has been thrashed exhaustively with some showing discomfort with it and others claiming to use it. In the end, I haven't found anyone who used it to specifically cross the threshold set by IRCC. So, not too sure about using it. I think you are safer just avoiding RSA, as it can be considered funds not readily available to you and therefore not meet IRCC's requirements. Anyways, the jury is still out on this one. |
eddycross:guy, you can't qualify for this one na. You are a Nigerian. if you must do it though, you need to be out of Nigeria first. And then convince them that you can't return to Nigeria because of persecution. |
jergins:On your first question, I'm pretty sure you can go ahead and then add the baby later. People have done that on this thread without issues. Of course, it'll affect your POF and maybe other things. Experienced guys can put mouth here. On your second question, check below post GlitteringStar: |
OdofinLadi:Which system is the asylum system? Please clarify |
Believe13:Yes, the person could qualify under the Federal Skilled Trades. But not sure if his/her trade is eligible just yet under this scheme. Check here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/trades/apply-who.asp Still, even if he/she qualifies it's not gonna be easy getting ITA, except the person goes through one of the provinces. Some draws ago, they actually had a draw specifically for them with the CRS score at 166. Maybe they'll have one again. |
Temas:Yes. Including proof of funds, PCC and medicals. |
swilo:No, I don't think property valuation is acceptable. It used to be some years ago, but not any more. Maybe because it is going to be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for you to use your documents to prove to them that you actually own those properties. Don't know. So also valuation on jewelry, cars, etc. The thing is to prove that "funds are readily available to you and are available both when you apply and when (if) we issue you a permanent resident visa." What you would need to do (and what some people on this thread have done) is to sell off the land and then tender receipts and proof of sale in order to justify the lump sum deposit into their account. And maybe a LOE. For some other provinces PR applications though, I think landed property is acceptable. Like here for example: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/4000ETOC.asp |
GlitteringStar:Haha. Una no go kill person with laugh. Who even comes up with such title "Big Data Analyst and Scientist"? ![]() Anyways, always glad to help. Me sef don receive a lot of help from you all. |
300ng:It usually says 3 months. You can use it like that for your application. |
What's wrong with this country where lives are as worthless as 1kobo coins? And what's wrong with a people who wouldn't mind posting a dead kid's picture online merely because they have the means to? This has to stop!! |
Yooku:Haha. And I officially bestow on you the position of Nairaland funniest comedian. When you start making money from it, don't forget to pay back o ![]() |
MummyJaygirls:Really? Lol. I used WES anyways. Those other acronyms just seem strange to me. |
You forgot PCC and medicals. labeerson:Thanks dupyshoo. So, you have to budget for PCC, medicals. PCC is about 10k, medicals -I really don't know yet, but shouldn't be more than 50k. |
funshobabs:Cool. Suggestions are that the gift deed should be drafted by a competent lawyer. |
elfmann:Abi. True talk. |
labeerson:For the initial stages: WES Evaluation - 285 Canadian Dollars (~83k naira). You could use ICAS/IQAS/ICES, but this is about the average minimum cost you'll pay. IELTS - 68,000naira. Procuring your transcript from your institution - Variable, depends on your institution (maybe more than 30k?) A lot of things could pop up while doing all the above, so you need to budget for you-never-know-what-may-happen - (~50k) if you don't get your desired score on the IETLS one time, you may have to rewrite it. That's another 68k. You may need to prepare towards that. For the application stage: Application fees for the express entry - 1040 Canadian dollars (~305k naira) Then if you are a single applicant (i.e. applying only for yourself), you need to prove that you have up to 12300 Canadian dollars at your disposal (~3.6million naira). This increases according to your number of children and wife or wives (?) ![]() During your application, you'll do Police Clearance for about 10k and medicals for ~70k. So, this is kinda the minimum. Of course, unexpected stuff will pop up so you should have a buffer of like 500k Total: about 4.7million, if you re-write IELTS once and maintain a buffer of 500k for you-never-know-what-may-happen. NB: used 370naira to 1usd |
funshobabs:I think you should do this only if you feel comfortable with it. Scouring through the thread, I have seen cases of people who weren't too comfortable using it and I have also seen cases of people who said some used it and got PPR. It's important to note that IRCC has not explicitly required that people submit deed of gift, but it seems to have worked for some people (no doubt). As far as I can tell, it evolved from the canadavisa site into Nairaland. Nairalanders embraced it and some have used it successfully. Check these links, you'll get the mixed feelings about this famous "deed gift" thing.: https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/677#58780700 https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/552#57598715 https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/683#58809082 And for at least one person, a bulk of the money entered into her account without a gift deed. No explanations, lol: https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/736#59214871 If you want to do the deed of gift, here are some formats: https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/124#46058842 https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/261#53487248 From my own observations, you should be fine with a deed gift. If you still have doubts, then buy treasury bills with the money well before 6 months and present those. |
labeerson:Confirm that your CRS score is good enough (at least above 420) here using your actual details and what you reasonably expect to score if you took the IELTS exam today: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp And afterwards that you meet the FSW cut-off of 67: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp If you do, then evaluate your credentials with WES or IQAS, and write IELTS. Those are your first steps, provided you have enough to finance the process. |
funshobabs:You want a foolproof explanation? Well, I can assure you that you won't get a foolproof explanation ![]() One of the critical things I have learnt about this express entry stuff is that there is no foolproof explanation for anything (besides some basics). What works for one person does not necessarily work for another. This is no mathematics, I tell you. Though most Nigerians are bent on using cash as POF (money in savings or current account), IRCC is actually more flexible. Gift deed is good. You are on the right track there. Use the huge millas to buy treasury bills well before 6 months so they don't show on your account statement, but the TB certificates will carry your name. Use tangible properties transferred to you which you can show to IRCC are easily dissolved into cash, etc. Just my opinion sha. As I understand, there is no foolproof. |
swilo:I agree. There's been a lot of mixed up info. Let me just try to clarify some of them. Firstly, IRCC wants you to "show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family" and this money must not be "borrowed from another person" Basically, they want the following: cashhttp://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp Now, for the Nigerian market what would they mean? Treasury bills, Fixed deposits, mutual funds, stocks, bonds, of course cash in your current or savings account, cheques payable to you, etc. Regarding pension as POF, you should be able to use it. The clause is that "the money should be readily available to you". However, I'd suggest you should only use it to buffer your position, not cross your threshold. That's because there has been a whole range of arguments regarding this on the thread. Check these links: Can one really use pension as POF?Some have used it, while others have urged to desist from using it. I'm not sure if anyone has used it to specifically cross the set thresholds. I hope you know if you want to use it, you need to clarify the terms of your pension with your administrator to be sure the funds are [according to IRCC] "easily available to you". An example of what IRCC does not want is equity on property, i.e. money available to you on a property after you pay off what you owe on it. Apparently, since market prices are not set in stone, I can understand why IRCC would not want equity on property. Can the same now be said of stocks? Probably! Stock prices vary from time to time and are not set in stone, so if you use it as POF, just make sure you know what you are doing. This is of course because by the time the VO is evaluating your docs, reduced stock prices could see you dropping below the set thresholds. Do you have any questions? Perhaps I can try clarify more. And to add to this: they want to see your net, i.e. debts, loans, and credits. And your net should exceed the set threshold. |

) Done my IELTS...good score CLB 9; WES almost complete. I need advise on few things as I beleive I WILL receive ITA as soon as I create my profile(I would have anyways if I created the profile before last draw). Now the issue is this. I have a baby on the way ( say Nov/Dec).
Senior Nairaland Big Data Analyst and Scientist, as conferred this day, 14th of August 2017, by His Excellency, @Yooku.
