Until the system of maid employment changes in NIGERIA, na so so story we go dey hear.
Somebody really needs to invest in that business and create a home service rendering company that takes professionalism very seriously. That way, any maid hired will know that if he/she messes up, they will have consequences to face with their boss.

Dangotesmummy, this might be a good way to invest all those your billions that you're using to slap people anyhow grin

Sorry Team July members, I'm afraid I've checked out.

Mummy's little Rockstar was born today. She weighs 6 lbs 4. We are both doing well and my little girl had great lungs (perfect for when I take her swimming in 6 months time).

All the best to the rest of you. It will surely end in praise.

Ummm where is the gentleman Ness if he told the cashier not to ring up her purchase? ? That was plain and slyly rude plus embarrassing. There are better ways to prevent your wife from buying something. Not saying what she did was right but guys know your woman personality.
I guess they are both used to belittling each other in public. As if she's his errant child and he her errant child.

Come to think of it, OP assumed she's the breadwinner, how is it that he's the one telling the cashier not to ring up her purchase. He controls how she spends 'her money'?
Family › Re: Sistas, Why Are Some Of Us Too Angry Even In The Public? by cococandy(f):
I grew up in Nigeria.
I've seen women tie their husband's collar screaming obscenities at them in places as public as Nigerian market.

Aggressive people are aggressive regardless of gender or location. When someone says you're behaving like a market woman, the implication is that you're being loud, rude and aggressive. Same way a guy is termed a tout or agbero if he's being unruly and violent. These example are common average everyday Nigerians. So pls tell me again what freedom or being in America has to do with it.
Family › Re: When An Over Worked Wife Is Fed Up by cococandy(f): 4:25am On Jun 28, 2015
He made a statement that he would meet other girls when he is back on his feet and flaunt them to my face.
He said this to your face? shocked

The guy doesn't even love you.
He's there because you're his meal ticket for now.

Watch him bolt when (if) he gets a means of survival of his own. What kind of man won't even make effort to help his wife take care of his kids' needs? Even if he's bringing only a quarter of it. At least that something.

And if he loves you, he won't be ok watching you stress yourself to death doing two jobs and doing all the house work on top of it all. He's both physically and emotionally not with you and it's not your job to fix him. He's an adult.

If you can't do it anymore, tell him to his face and not us. For example, that chair incident, I'd have left it there let rain fall on it and the sun shine on it. Or better still return it to where I bought it from. If he can't use his muscle to lift the chair into the house, we might as well send it back where it came from. I don't believe in stress lai lai.

Stop killing yourself slowly.
Anything you can't do? Say you can't and so be it.

You are probably afraid that he may misunderstand anything you say as disrespect for his lack of money. Even when you're very respectful about how you say it. It's not a new phenomena. (There's actually a name for it) But guess what? If it makes him sit-up and be an adult, the end justifies the means in this case.

Slut shaming is what women do to themselves. It's either you let us have an adult relationship( if you've ever had in the past), or you be a child, lock up hold your panties in your father's house until you get married. You don't get to tell me 'the girl is good' after you 'been there, done that'. Can't you see? It's simply illogical.
P.S. She's only a slut if she won't have sex with me after having with others before me, after me. You see the difference?
Of course undecided

Makes a lot of sense. While most people I have met outside nairaland have been nice and pleasant, one person who I never met but got friendly with by replying his pm has ended up awful. Op is right about secrets. People don't know how to keep secrets even though they will be the one to ask you to keep theirs. If a nairalander knows anything about you and you ever disagree with them, that thing will be revealed and used against you. You don't even need to insult them or anything. You just need to disagree with them. It's a shame. Though not everybody is like that, some immature ones are. Just one awful person can make you scared of making friends with nairalanders outside Nairaland. It certainly did for me.

stop swearing so much. It's unbecoming.
And yes, I belong to that school that says it aint a relationship if we aint fucckin. Fornication shmunication.
If someone is speaking deranged and you call it that, it ain't swearing.

Well if you belong to that school of thought that relationship without sex is not possible for you, you better not belong to the slut-shaming school of thought too. Well hopefully not. Because that one is not unbecoming, it's plain senseless.

Try to make sense of insisting that a lady has to sleep with you for it to be called a relationship and at the same time is a slut for having premarital sex with you and whoever else she dated before or dates after you. If you can make sense of that twisted shyt right there, thumbs up.

standd's thread comes to mind.

everything is wrong if the lady is not a virgin.
Really? So if she's had sex before that must she just continue having sex with any guy she dates even if that's not what she and regardless of whether the relationship lasts or not?

Surprisingly someone with your kind of mindset will the at the fore front of those who label ladies aswhores yet you can't imagine a relationship without sex simy because the girl is done it before.

I swear most guys thy comment on this forum are deranged. No sense at all.

Hunny I don't stress my self unnecessarily.
There's no need for that machines are made to make life easier so what not use them if you have them?
Babysitters are there to help you balance child care and other aspects of your life, why not use them?
If you agree with that dude about doing stuff the hard way to prove that one is a good spouse, I hope you do your things the hard way too to impress your lady.

In this day of life made easy, someone is advocating stress.

Ingredients
Water
500g Calamaris
Garlic butter ( optional )
Olive oil
1 red onion
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
Garlic
Ginger
Maggie cube
Green chillies ( according to your taste )
Salt ( optional )

I choose to boil by calamaris until soft.Just to remove any bacteria which may be in my calamaris. When the water is about to evaporate, add just a table spoon of garlic butter and shallow fry the calamaris just to seal the garlic taste into them.
Then in seperate deep saucepan, fry onions, garlic, ginger and all your peppers and your green chillies. Add your maggie cube. Stir until all soft. Add calamaries and contiinue frying. ( I usually add a little water for frying when my olive oil disappears in evaporation ). Lastly when all the ingredients are sealed, add a can of chopped tomatoes. Bring to boil until there is no water.

Add any herb to your liking.

Then this takes me to the plight of millions of African children facing this exact predicament just because of people allowing superstitious fear to drive their judgement. This kids are maimed, beaten, starved, mutilated, burnt by the society who had given them an unwarranted tag witch, ogbanje, mami-water, demon and so on... and imbedding this nonsensical superstition on our young children that they too at this tender believe and fear this nonsense is very disturbing to me and it makes me wonder if our generation will ever rid this society of this stupendous belief.

These children are none of these exceptionally stup!d concepts people tag them with, these children need love and acceptance by the society to fit in, they shouldn't be discriminated against or mutilated.

There is nothing wrong with them, they might appear different and act above societal expectations but everyone is not meant to be the same. their difference makes them unique and a wonderful asset to the society if people will understand that all they need is love and acceptance.

My personal experience with linda was just one out a million cases that happen all over Africa, and i hope people will step up and save these children when ever, where ever you find them. what the society are doing to this children is totally wrong and Africa need to change this very archaic superstitiously stupendous ideology.

Anyone who's saying that is a closet homo because it means they believe they or others like them who hate homosexuals can turn gay and not reproduce.
(As of gay people can't reproduce that is.)

what i said is no oxymoron. Homophobic people are always quick to use God and religion as a reason for unneccessary hate. You seem to forget; slavery was perfectly established and taken seriously in the Bible, it was seen as "normal". In the same USA it was rife then fortunately abolished.is the abolishment of slavery not also "a direct opposition to HIS divine vision"? Due to the fact that God Himself ordained it? And as for human rights, i guess ur seeing them as "man made" and "direct opposition against His divine vision". Id advice u sir to do urself some good and rise against unreasonable hate and stop being God's spokesman. He is GOD for goodness sake....

No, I have never done timeshare. The only time I got close to it was some years ago; timeshare by Marriotts. I pulled out cos the cost was as good/bad as staying in a Marriott hotel itself so it didn't make sense to me. With my kids in tow sef, timeshare is not an option if I must enjoy the vacation.
ok

I'm having a lot of second thoughts about the one we just bought but we have 10days to cancel if we change our mind.
It seems so expensive. I'm trying to convince DH to just leave it so that we do regular vacations every year instead of being tied to a mandatory lifelong payment even during the years that we don't have energy to go on vacation.

If only I knew someone who's been in the system for a while and can vouch that its worth it, then I won't be bothered. I was hoping you'd know as it seems you travel some.

Anyway thanks smiley

The above is a process, and realistically speaking, I don't expect her to stop in a day. Old habits die hard. So while the resolution is still a work-in-progress, what should he do anytime she nags?

My advice again - nagging will not kill him. Rather than hit her back, he should learn to ignore. Concurrently, he should address the root of the problem. I propose reducing her idle time by getting her a job or establishing her in a business. If she refuses and continues her nasty behavior, the next steps are entirely up to him.
