Plastic surgery is so risky I wouldn’t consider doing it anywhere else but in the USA. The standards are higher here (from what I gather)
Cheaper is not always better.

She is just one of those Twitter noisemakers and a clout-chaser. Don't forget of all her expenses, she complained most about the price of food. She lived extravagantly and tried to pass it off as if anyone living in Nigeria needs minimum N1m per month to survive. People are living well on N200k monthly salary.
If you go to Manhattan, New York and blow $10k in a month, don't turn around and wonder how US citizens live comfortably with less than that amount in a month. They do. She is using Twitter for what many people use it for--exaggerated narratives.
/
You may have a point about her motives.

However I don’t believe that with the way things are in Nigeria, that people are realistically living comfortably with 200k. Is not the same Nigeria that a decent apartment cost hundreds of thousands to a few million a year?
Isn’t rent part of that 200k? what of constant electricity? Someone can’t be staying with unreliable power and call it being comfortable. We can say they are managing. Check am na.

I think this is the correct word "Medical Waste".

That is what it should be. Instead of us stressing our brains on what to do with it.

I remember for my first time. I told my mum and she told me to go get a small pot called "ikoko agbe'bi" which means "Pot for Placenta".

After getting the pot she asked me to rub the inner part of the pot with red oil (I guess that signifies calmness) before putting the Placenta then to bury it afterwards.
Yep you got it.
It is indeed the official medical term for it. Anything we remove from the human body (surgically, after birth, poop, urine, body parts etc) is considered biohazard because it can be a source of infection to another person if not disposed of properly.

But it’s true that people do have traditions surrounding the placenta. I don’t have anything against those. Most of them are really just symbolic anyway . If they insist on dealing with it their traditional way, all they need is a little bit of education on how to help prevent spreading diseases and infections. I would only just advice those who are confused and don’t know how to handle it to leave it to the medical professionals.

Staying in a hotel for 2 months.

And if she didn't, I will really like to know what she spent the N2.5m on in two months. N2.5m in two months is relatively on the high side. How many families considered comfortable in Nigeria are living such life?

/
Yea staying in a hotel (if it’s a good one) might be considered extravagant.

My point is that what we consider “comfortable” in Nigeria could just be bare minimum in other places. So was it truly truly extravagant or was she trying to live at a standard that the rest of the world considers fairly normal.
Between rent/lease in a good and safe neighborhood, transportation, uninterrupted power supply and nutritious meals, she could spend close to that much before adding miscellaneous expenses

Yes, I would also love to see a break down of how she spent the money. I’m interested in knowing the true state of things right now.

If you didn't have up to 2.5milli you would have still survived, nobody has actually died of hunger in this country. They might not eat what they like but I have not heard of death as a result of hunger so please tone down your lies.
Why do you think she’s lying?
Yes it will definitely cost that much if not more if one is looking to maintain a standard of living that is similar or only slightly lower in comparison to what they have outside of the country.
You forgot that electricity is part of this whole shenanigan and costs a lot to provide for yourself 24/7.

Like? See question. When to buy a phone for the girl child or when to buy a phone for a child?

Mtchew.

Oh, and it's so crazy how you people always come up with these suggestive, protective and paternalistic feelings over the girl child and 'fear' for her corruption, but when same girls grow and say they've been abused, you tag them liars and oloshos. If you knew how "unsafe" the world is for the girl child, why do you disbelieve or shame them when they are older? Is it not the girls of today that grow to be the women of tomorrow?

Nonsense and fake concern and pseudo-moralistic posturings.
Exactly. Absolutely silly

Slowly but surely, Nairaland will soon become a place where men come to anonymously massage their egos, compensate for their inadequacies and completely exclude women voices.

Seun you need to see what your platform is turning to. It is harboring men that make it unsafe for women to speak their truth.
Seun doesn’t care. It’s good traffic. NL provides an outlet for the actual and potential rapists, murderers and assaulters among Nigerian young men to come and voice their frustrations, receive validation on it and walk away more reinforced with hate.

I’ve removed the parts of your post that don’t require a response
bukatyne:
I just saw you modified your older post.

I find it strange you compare Christians with homosexuals.
It’s a valid comparison. In the world of straight people, homosexuals are an oppressed group.
In a country where extremist Muslims have taken over the government, Christians are an oppressed group. So yea, if one is sympathetic to Christians who are fleeing certain death, their humanity and acclaimed love for God should extend to gay people who are also fleeing death.

I would advise you pick up a copy of the Bible and study to understand so you don't make certain comparison.
(let me pretend not to notice how condescending this part is.)

You’re advising me to study the Bible in order not to compare homosexuals and Christians because to you, my comparison of them is based on them being “morally” the same. I’m just saying they both oppressed. Not that hard to grasp.

But if you dropped the holier-than-thou mindset, you would have seen the comparison for what it was rather than “how dare she equate the two?”.
Maybe you need to study your Bible some more in order to gain human empathy and compassion. It’s literally in there. Oh I forgot, you probably believe you know it better than I do.

Once a secret is told to one person, it is no longer a secret. His identity is no longer hidden the moment he granted the interview and he might have drawn the Taliban's attention to something that was not even in their radar initially. undecided

Stating the fact has become judging and insulting in our woke and politically correct generation; I understand.

There is no absolute freedom anywhere; that is the illusion modernity sells to people. Everyone is constrained to conform to something.
I’ve noticed it’s common these days to misuse what woke means. Anyway…

If you know you would be sympathetic to Christians speaking out about what they might experience at the hands of the Taliban, then you know I’m right about this. I don’t expect you to agree that you’re being harsh because it’s a different sexual group who don’t share your beliefs.

Just don’t mask that apathy with “I don’t tolerate entitlement and victim mentality”. The fact that you even consider it entitlement is mind boggling.

You don't know anything about me to assume what my opinion would be undecided

Everyone would 'stick out' somewhere; if you do not have the emotional intelligence or the mental capacity to survive till there is a resolution, goodluck. Except the Taliban has a list of homosexuals, the foolish man would have been safer quiet. It is not like homosexuality is obvious unlike gender, complexion or nationality.

As always, I don't have empathy for entitlement, foolishness, victim mentality and whinners.

Know this and have peace.
But his identity is hidden. You don’t know him. Neither do the Taliban. He merely stated what would realistically be the fate of gay people there now.
Ask yourself why your first instinct is to jump to judging and insulting him.

It’s entitlement to want to be free to live? Okay. Got it

Notably, you don’t have the same thing to say about Christians over there who are risk of being killed and are talking about it. You don’t call them entitled whiners with victim mentality. Even though they could realistically blend in and not make themselves known as Christians or moderate Muslims.

If no, can't you shut up and live your life while you find a way out of the system?

I am sure the human race would have been wiped out if humans were this stupid, entitled and nursed victimhood mentality.

Instead of looking for solutions or making do with the hand life has dealt them, they keep whining and looking for pity. undecided
You wouldn’t have this same opinion if a group of heterosexuals are at risk of being hunted and killed for loving people of the opposite gender.

What you consider entitlement, victim mentality and whining amongst a marginalized group is the same thing that you take for granted in your own life. Simple because you believe it’s your inalienable right. It shouldn’t have to be discussed because duh, it’s your right. The way you feel entitled to your life in all its aspects is the same way they feel about theirs.

Empathy can’t be taught.
