I want to sincerely thank you all for my culinary progress. I owe over 90% of my food making/photo progress to this page.

I remember how i started here #shy. This group and its tenants spurred me. You guys spurred me to attend a culinary school, to improve on myself and many others things.


I wish everybody here elevation.

To me though, local/traditional food or dishes doesn’t mean something negative.
It just signifies something that’s indigenous to that area. Unless she meant something else.

You don't see Chinese calling Chinese food local or traditional. You don't see Korean naming anything they prepare local.
It's only in Nigeria. We feel so inferior we don't feel proud of our own very food

None of the natives of such countries has termed theirs local.

This is only an issue because the medical field is customer facing, once you prove yourself once, that is all you need. You become a super star amongst your male colleagues.

Being a lady in a male dominated field or vice versa makes you unique and you move up the ladder faster.

In tech for example, we have what we call diversity hire, a lot of women are giving higher priority in hiring. If they are more than average they become super stars. Shopify Canada is one company that does this 100% because i have witnessed it from them.

Once you prove yourself once, that's all you need. You earn your respect!

But you have to prove yourself first. So no free pass then.

Diversity hire by definition means that the organization is made to hire QUALIFIED people of that group because traditionally they would not hire them even though they are very qualified. So it’s not a free pass either. It’s just a system to curb oppression.

Just in the hospital alone, a female doctor and a male nurse or maybe even a male CNA go in to see a patient, the guy will get more respect the moment he walks into the room, they’ll assume he’s the doctor and she’s the assisting staff.

To them he is “yes sir, thank you sir” and she is “please can you get me a cup of ice?” Every.single.time.

Who do you think will more likely get the job just on a blind pick. No interview or skill assessment process to be done before selecting the applicant? Women keep getting told over and over that they should not care about men’s sexual wildness as long he “provides” and they start believing it from a young age.

But when the man carries it into the relationship and steps out during the marriage or even a mere boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, it hurts the woman (who supposedly shouldn’t really care as much as the man). Now we have confused women who are hurt but feel guilty about their hurt feelings. Like they have no right to be hurt by a faithless man.

And all because they truly believe that they are selfish for wanting a man who commits to them in the same way he expects strict commitment.
