wait for it sis ,they are getting bold ,if they can shamelessly defend rape online ,all it will take is a little tweak before they show their true colors . many are used to raping their girlfriends and wives. The entitled mentality of Nigerian men to having sex with a woman is alarming. Even their own wives and girlfriends are not safe
A lot of married men don’t believe they can rape their wives. They “paid” for it. So her personhood doesn’t matter after that.

. are u for real..are u saying we men are not scared of women too?,
tell me more. You’re scared of women why?
You’re scared if you visit a woman by yourself, you could get overpowered and raped by her? You are scared of going out shirtless so you don’t attract a woman rapist to yourself? You’re scared of being out late to avoid being robbed and raped by a woman? If you are for real, I’m not going to knock your experience. I don’t know what you have bee through but I just wanted to make sure I understand what it is you’re scared of.

smh..seriously u are even trying to confuse me more with this ur reply, are u saying women are not scared of their fellow women too..
no we are not. We are not scared that an interaction gone wrong with another woman could have raped and killed by her.

we have situations were by guys are gang raped till death by women,
women have raped men. Gang raped to death? undecided

do u expect me to be in a room in the company of about 5 gals and not be sacred...
try being scared when you’re alone with one. Maybe then you’ll get a grasp.

look most rapist her men doesnt mean majority of men are rapist, understand that ok..
not the point. Of course not all men are rapists. The point is that one hand you teach women to live in fear of men with all your victim blaming and advice that is meant to restrict how women behave in order to keep themselves safe from men. Then on the other hand you get mad that Genevieve said women live in fear of men. Isn’t that what y’all have been asking us to do for ages? To live in fear of men. You disguise it as good behavior. But it’s a docility aimed at not spooking the tiger. Aka Living in fear.

the notion of women being scared of men is due to believe that men are naturally stronger, nothing else...
now we are getting somewhere.

lol..dont mind that fool, apparently he is just joking .well of course every right thinking man would condemn this heinous act, we men are only here to condemn genevive comment, which could incite hatred towards the male specie..i have never touched a woman forcefully let alone attempt to rape, so why should one stupid feminist tag me a potential rapist because i am a male..
Fine you said her comment is inciting. Let me ask you this.

How many times have ever heard someone say
1) women be careful don’t go out at so and so time.
2)don’t go to a man’s house alone
3)dress “properly” to prevent rapists from being attracted to you
4)don’t accept anything from a man unless you’re ready to pay back with your body.
5) make sure you learn self defense....the list goes on.

While not bad advice, do you believe there is anything else fueling these advice except the fear of what men do to women? To encourage women to be wary of men or they might hurt and killed?
I never actually subscribe to any of that and I tend to call them out when I read them especially if people try to use them to deflect/victim blame after someone has been raped but people go “if anything happens to you you’re to blame”. So you folks actively encourage women to live in fear of men. Wonder why the uproar. Because a woman said it the way it is?

Y’all can’t have it both ways. It’s either women live in fear of men as she rightfully said and follow these precious advice listed above to protect themselves from men or men behave themselves and all that won’t be necessary.

All men are not bad yet many of them look the other way when serious issues like this arises. Or at best slap on a lame condemnation that is obviously not heartfelt often ending in a “But she should now have...”. Just like there are good cops who happen to standby and laugh while their mates kill and hurt people.

Bu you’ll see them come out enthusiastically to cry about who a grown women sleeps with or how this celebrity got her wealth. Like that’s the evil in the society. Not what their mates are doing.

Don’t mind the silly elements. If it were women are olosho, they will create threads upon threads. Yet you will never see them create just one thread to address the issues they plague the society with. Then one bastard will come to ask me about my father and brother.
Don’t let this thread upset you. I totally understand how you feel because you know how this is a sore a subject that needs to be taken seriously by everyone yet can’t understand why most posters here don’t.

Typical NL poster lacks empathy. Only cares about what strokes their ego or has a potential to stroke their peniis.

I bet you they are more concerned about Genevieve’s body count than they are concerned about a real and present danger such as the rapists among them.

You can’t force people to develop neural pathways in their brains that don’t exist. For most of them, the pathways responsible for generating empathy the ability to put themselves in the shoes of another hurting human does not exist. And it is what it is.

Just hit report on any post that glorifies or excuses rape .

Look at these idiots more concerned with their egos than a girl that got raped and murdered by 11 guys

They're not saying literally every man you ever come into contact with in life should be feared

Rape is a common enough occurrence committed by all 'configurations' of men (stranger, friend, boyfriend, uncle, colleague, husbands and dare I even say it, even brother and fathers) to have to come to terms with the fact that you can't even count anyone out when it comes to the possibilities.

You sef know it yourselves, that's why when you get stories of innocent females somehow finding themselves alone with a colleague, uncle etc and they get raped you have people asking why she was alone with him. Something as standard as collecting dvd or biscuit from someone's house and you will find all the reasons she was to blame because you are very aware of the risks

Even grandmas aren't spared

Urgh, this made me sick

I don’t have anger in my heart towards any real and aggrieved citizen who threw a stone here and there out of anger in Minneapolis the actual place where the death of that young man occurred.

But the protests in other states seem to have been taken over by paid instigators and rable rousers who have something to gain if BLM activists are termed thugs. This is from an FBI finding that was reported on CNN BTW.

She should have done so sooner.

I read previous allegations brought against that officer and I cringed at how he was so full of cruelty.

The wife tried, staying with him this long. But I also wonder, what happened to, for better for worse?

I don't blame her for leaving though.
Two things I suspect.

1) she did it in attempt to protect her assets which she jointly owns with her husband and can be subject to liquidation to fulfill settlement requirements (he’s getting sued HARD).

2) or she is secretly abused and this is her opportunity to break free from him.

But I don’t believe for a second that she didn’t know what he was capable of. She either stayed because she was in support of his wickedness or she was afraid to leave because of his power as a law enforcement agent.

Most of those who date and marry foreigners are seen as assets by their partners. Their marriages last longer than their male counterparts married to foreigners. Their children are more grounded than those of their male counterparts married to foreigners.

I want the child. The mother agreed that she is gonna let me have him. She said she will allow me take her after five years. But I disagreed cuz by then it is gonna be complicated and she agreed. I want him at a tender age. I will take him to the motherless, when he is of age I will take him to come and leave with me and I will take care of him.
You disagreed but you’d rather the child be raised in a motherless home than by her own mother.
Men that fight to take children from their moms when they are totally clueless about how to take care of another human being, how do you sleep at night?

You don’t think sending her to a motherless home is going to be complicated?

I can’t believe your relative made $100k annually and couldn’t pay their bills.

It’s very surprising.
samzepaparazi:
This was true before 2015 buhari regime.

I believe the dollar was still N150.

I always told my friends that it was better living in Nigeria .
But this is not the case today. I remember back then my relatives earned about 100k dollars, but my folks still sent them money from Nigeria for some bills They lived in Connecticut at the time.

Before now, you all you earned was 500k that would have been over 3000 dollars.
1 million was over 6000 dollars.

If you make 100,000 dollars in the US, that places you among the top earners. Infact some articles place you as high class.

$100k was just N15 million.

Pure water money in Nigeria for many business men back then.

Now 15m is not even half of 100k dollars.

So I doubt people in Nigeria will be sending people abroad money now. Things have turned the other way round

I will go with around 60-70k (Some of the money withheld still belong to you - and many will still get tax refunds during the tax season - 3k, 5k, 12k etc depending on different factors)

So we have too many variables:
- Federal tax: Depends on several variables
- State tax: Some states don't have state tax on paycheck e.g. Texas among several others
- Retirement plan (401k etc): Some people invest up more than 10% of their paycheck on this and lots of companies will match this or a percentage of the contribution. (Remember, this is savings - for those who think Americans don't save, a chunk have savings but not in their savings account)
- Health Insurance: A fraction of the paycheck depending on if single, married, have kids
- Social Security deductions/Medicare etc: Also another rainy day stuff. Many are unaware that most Americans receive social security checks based on the contributions they made while working. In fact, social security sends you an estimate of what you earn monthly if you retire TODAY. Even if you move back to Nigeria, you get your check.

I will agree that your points cover most of the reasons why some don't send money just to anyone.

Another one is that, people in Nigeria feel entitled and think that it's your duty to assist whenever they come up with another "school fees ", "rent" and "medical" stories.
They might have even called or reached out to you when you were even not in good financial position but they think just because you are in the US , then you.must be able to help.

I have told this to many people in the past, - a lot of people in Nigeria have more in their savings accounts than most Nigerians abroad.
A lot of Americans don't have 1000 dollars in their accounts
, they live pay check to pay check.
So how can they help you with school fees when they have Bill's to pay.
Hmm.
Where are these stats coming from?
