I would feel okay with that. If you don’t like the tribe, then don’t marry that person. The kids can have names from any tribe out of the ones you guys are from. There are no rules to these things.

I’m not a phone expert though but I’ve seen some good photos with androids.

AkeNathan:
IPhone camera is the best in the world

The orange effect i noticed in the picture simply gave me the idea. iPhone is synonymous with orange effect and it's so cool.

Also, America's climate is so mild, hence that factor with the iPhone factor, make photos clean and classy.

Our rada rada Nigeria sun just dey blacken everything that you snap with your phone. You literally have to be patient until 10am in order to have a warm and temperate photo with our dumb android grin

No offense but Your story has no head or tail. Filled with irrelevant details that don’t really add anything except confusion to the core issues.

So you guys had sex, she got pregnant and had a kid before you were able to have a Christian wedding? I’m assuming that’s the point you’re trying make. Correct me if I’m wrong. If yes. Then what’s done is done. Forget about the church people and their issues for now and focus on being a good parent to your new child.

Any wedding proceedings can be done after things get back to normal. We are not in normal times right now so you need to adjust your priorities. Appeasing church people should be the last of your worries. Not when you shouldn’t be going to church anyway.

Stay home and take care of your family. Thanks

Honey I posted in reply to your comment that Nigerians are mostly below average earners in the USA. You should know that education and skill is actually power which in most cases translates to more income..

If you’re following basic statistics, that doesn’t necessarily apply to Nigerian immigrants. They don’t come to America and live here with the same drive as people who have always been here and are used to not struggling for basic things. That extra drive often amounts to more income.
Here are some links that talk about average Nigerian-American income.

USA poverty level is around $25,000 for a family of four and $32,000 for a family of 6 As of 2020.

Average Nigerian household income is above $60,000. So no! We are not low income earners like you generalized earlier. Neither am I claiming that Nigerians are rich. Just easy on the generalizations. Thanks

ivolt:
Your sources are all about education.

I had no source before my previous comment, just basic statistics.
If every other immigrant in the US earns averagely or below, there is no reason to believe
that Nigerians are different.

Here is a source, not exactly what I want but it points to the fact that immigrants are having it
worse than native borns at least for up to 2 decades after immigration.

https://www.cato.org/publications/immigration-research-policy-brief/immigrant-wages-converge-those-native-born-americans

If you have any source that discuss the salary of average immigrants contrary to mine, please post them.

And your stat source for the below is?
ivolt:
Do you have a stats source?

I am alluding to the average Nigerian immigrant and not highly skilled professionals.

I expect the immigrants' income to follow a bell curve like every other demographics.
Few outliers and majority average.

Belonging to a group that is best-educated and well employed does not preclude that the majority
of that same group are average or below income-wise.

It will be a 10th wonder of the world if an average Nigerian in the US earns significantly above the average wage of the country.

No they are not.

Nigerian immigrants here are some of the best educated and well employed citizens the country has to depend on.

Actually backed by research.

Not that old wives tales of washing dishes and cleaning toilets. (Not that it’s bad)
ivolt:
I gave 3 possible sources for such a misleading statement, you apparently fall into one.

Nobody on minimum or average wage(most immigrant are average or lower) can buy a house through a mere 3 years savings
no matter how frugal they are.

Family › Re: The Many Challenges Of An Only Son by cococandy(f): 2:06pm On Apr 02, 2020
Your sisters can earn incomes. They are not handicapped. Your intended wife can also earn income. I’m assuming she’s not handicapped.

The only person whom you should truly consider as a responsibility in terms of providing for is your mom in case she gets older and unable to work or trade.

This life is hard on everyone and you shouldn’t bear the burden alone. While you’re planning with them in your mind as people you’ll have to cater for, are they also planing with you in mind to help you or are they just relaxed waiting for you to come be their source of livelihood?

Your goal of making them financially independent won’t work if you’re only able to save 30k a month.
Businesses need big capital to sustain them. I doubt you on your own can even run a sustainable long term business unless you come across some substantial money right now.

Don’t go and die for nothing.

Please show me that immigrant working a $15/hour job that owns a $300k dollar home and I will show you someone that knows where bin ladin was hiding in Pakistan.
Maybe you think you are talking to a child undecided
Absolute trash!!!
So the Nigerian person that makes 15 an hour don't have expenses abi?
The people you keep saying send money home,I hope it's not them boys sending 500 dollars and co and call it sending money back home undecided
Don't you know they are able to do that cos naira is weak?
Look,Nigerians are determined no doubt, they go there, exploit the system, get better jobs and enrollment in mortgages too or for the better ones, buy outright.
But saying they do so on minimum wage is a big lie.

I guess I should mention that mine is about 3 years old. So possible price change in that time frame. I didn’t think of that before .

loveymom:
May be because of the food processor, but then it's still expensive. It was around $150 in Walmart.

Mine doesn't have the food processor, just the blender cup and smoothie cup.

Sorry that it's broken and useless.

loveymom:
Got it for $100 Minus Tax

It has 2 types, the other one doesn't have the smoothie cup and it goes for $75
shocked

I feel cheated. I got it for $190 from sears before tax.

Is it because of the food processor that came with it? Did this one come with food processor also?

Even so, my food processor is broken now so it’s still useless therefore was not a good deal to me. And it can’t even blend egusi that well either. Sigh
