So true.

tearoses:
My dear Good morning
Yes I love these stories
People who work hard to achieve what they want
Unlike the other lazy ones who sit an blame everything and everybody but themselves

There are so many opportunities in Nigeria, but our youth are busy trolling & being rude on the internet, and are addicted to Instagram and more interested in Basketmouths new rolex than their own futures and opportunities are just rolling by.
I feel very sorry for them cos I hope by the time they wake up its not too late

A young male graduate catered for a house party a few months ago for us. We were the ones even showing him how to do the barbecue but I loved his spirit and I know that his next event will be better.
He didn't just sit there waiting for a job, but learnt to cook and is making small money. Tomorrow he will be big while his mates are still disturbing uncles here and there and carrying out small small scams on nairaland.

Women!!!!!!!
Even if it's once a month and you still say against her will? Hope you won't join her in calling the man a cheat when he starts looking at other options(that will probably be available daily)
Both of them no date? For her to know how often the man wants sex?
Family › Re: How Some Wives Are Continually Raped But Can't Speak Up by cococandy(f): 3:24am On Sep 15, 2016
And what exactly does that mean?

That you're smarter than the average woman out there because you're a man?

Not your fault. It all part of the sexist nonsense that has been bred into most of you.

I hate chatting or dragging words with women due to their comprehension capacity and data/information interpretation.

It's almost as if all African tradition/culture is based on ideologies that centered around stroking the men's egos and their sexual satisfaction. Nothing else mattered to them I suppose.
dasparrow:
Alright. And whose fault is it that black Africans - Nigerians included - have such barbaric archaic traditional customs that mess up females' private parts and leave them sexually incapacitated for life? Who came up with the idea to cut off a girl's clitoriz so that she would not be promiscuous? was it not African men? Do you see Caucasian men inflict such harmful nonsense on their females? No they don't. It is only the backward African-bred male who sits there and comes up with ways to cause bodily harm on the females of his society. And then tomorrow, you people want to complain about your females being frigid in bed. Why won't they be frigid after you people have completely messed up their God-given varginas?

Secondly, let's not even get started on the topic of pedophilia and how raping innocent little girls have also left them traumatized for life thereby causing them to hate sex as adults. Anyways, until you people change your barbaric and satanic ways all in the name of culture and tradition, expect more of these problems to arise.
Family › Re: How Some Wives Are Continually Raped But Can't Speak Up by cococandy(f): 3:20am On Sep 15, 2016
It doesn't matter how many times it is. Even if it's once a month. If you forced yourself against her wish, it's rape.
nnamdibig:
Wife Rape?
What's that?
You accepted to spend the rest of your life with him, you proclaimed before everyone that both of you are one and you come here and talk of wife rape?
Apart from maybe new couple no man ask for sex everyday from the wife. And so far it's not on daily basis, how will you explain having sex with your wife 3-4X in a week as rape?
Please say something else

Madam @tearoses. I know you will like this story. cheesy
MrPristine:
I started with only one thousand naira which I used to buy a laundry basket for keeping them. I then started picking the snails in the bushes surrounding my house. On my own I was able to catch almost two hundred but it involved a lot of hard work and passion. I had to be catching them late at night or very early in the morning before sunrise as most snails disappear into their hideouts once it's daylight. I later stated paying security guards in my area to catch for me, by so doing I have been able to accumulate over seven hundred snails on my back yard. My target is to have over a thousand before the raining season is over.

You've said it all.
Sophyrocks:
There is nothing wrong with a 20 year old female getting married. What is important is the level of understanding she has of what is involved in marriage. Is your sister mentally and physically ready for marriage? Also this man and your sister have not dated in order to know each other well. Compatibility is very important. Lets say your sister wants a career or wants to become somebody in life, is he the type that will support her? will he help her to fulfill her dreams just as omotola's husband is doing? Remember, we are in an era where women are meant to have a purpose in life and contribute financially and meaningfully. Life isnt just about getting married and being a baby factory. There is going to be a time your sister will reason like this which is why marriage is not to be rushed. what you thought was good for you when you were 20 will not be what you will like at 25.

Your sister developing likeness for this man is not a strong reason for her to say yes to him. How can you ask her if she loves the man when they have not gotten to know each other well? Allow these two to court themselves properly like a normal man and woman relationship should be. Your sister needs to know this man veeeerrrrry well before deciding to take such a big step as marriage. A red flag in this man is that he has A flimsy reason for wanting to marry your sister. It does not speak well of his intentions. In fact i wouldnt want to give out my daughter to a man who wants her just for her skin color. He just wants a young trophy wife. it shows he doesnt even know her enough to want to marry her. The way he is going about begging people to force that girl to marry him is suspicious. Even men who are goldiggers or abusive or with questionable characters do that so that is not a new thing my dear. Any man can beg. That proves nothing. Where is he rushing to? Why is he in a hurry?
Horrible stories are everywhere of certain advanced men who like to prey on young girls and then destroy their future. There is a reason why such men go for very young girls that are not exposed. When domestic violence is involved, the girls are helpless because their husbands refused to complete their education and no income of their own to survive. Then divorce happens and they are back to square one, All the good years they would have used to have a better future were wasted on a horrible marriage.

If you dnt want these for your sister, please dnt rush her like this kpa kpa kpa into marriage with that man. Let her get to know this man veerrrrry well. Insist that this man wait until he has proven to be a good choice for her. Even when she has gotten into school, let him continue to wait while they keep dating. You and your people dnt know this man yet. Marriage no be beans. Nobody should force that girl to marry that man.
I am using almighty God to beg you oooooooo.

That's true though.

Maybe they didn't try hard enough to let her know what was involved.
Although one can't really tell since we weren't there. You know how Nigerians can be over religious and depending on God to come down from heaven to solve issues when the solution is right there.
helovesme:
There is a way doctors can smartly coerce a woman into making the right decisions.

If the doctor had stood her grounds and painstakingly explained ALL the risks involved with prolong labour and allowing the twins go full term, maybe the woman would have changed her mind.

As she had gone overdue, she should have been going daily to the hospital to have fetal movements checked. If this was done, the doctors would have been able to detect reduced fetal movements with one of twins and quickly intervened (c-section).

I wonder if the dead baby wasn't detected before the prolonged labour. I doubt it was which further questions the credibility of the hospital and it's medical team. If they had detected one heart beat and not two at the time she was brought into the hospital, why put her through the agonies of a long, painful labour? C-section should have been carried out at that stage.

BomboyOnline:
So sorry to hear about your loss. Cherish Boo, and the ones that are coming after her.

The Nigerian health care system has a long way to go. First of all, a twin pregnancy should have never been allowed to go full term not to talk of 3 weeks over nine months. Who allows a woman carrying twins to labor for hours? C section should have been considered as soon as the babies weren't coming.
According to OP the doctor did suggest it but the wife refused. They can't force her you know.
Family › Re: A Bitter True Story Of My Child's Delivery by cococandy(f): 9:41pm On Sep 13, 2016
Your wife should have opted for the CS. Two babies over nine months in the belly. Placentas would have gotten aged and unable to function well. Lessons learned for next time if any.

Sorry about your loss. And pls be strong for your wife.

Spitting on your face? Mehn that's baaad.
In my culture it's seen as something reserved for the vilest and most disgusting of creatures. Nobody in their right minds would do that to their husband/wife except they are done with the marriage and really despise the spouse.

And she's not even remorseful about it which makes it worse.

Sorry OP.

keepingmum:
It takes more than semen to be a father. It takes more than blood to be family. Are you swayed simply because your biological father's family are well off? If they were rural farmers/herbalists/drug dealers/touts would the decision still have being difficult?

Where was your uncle who stood with your dad/mum when your mum was going through the trauma? No where!!!

If your dad's biological family all had kids/grandkids would they have come looking for you?

Its only when Nigerian families (the men especially) learn that you CANNOT abandon a child with their mother UNDER ANY circumstance and assume that "well she will suffer with the child and when the child grows, he/she will come looking for me".

If your stepdad hadnt trained you and shown you love as though you were his biological child, would you have thrived healthily, academically and mentally to the point of graduating and qualifying to work in an oil coy?

I find it insulting that your biological family think money answers all. Its even more insulting to your stepdad that they are saying they would train his children. Why didnt they train you? Why didnt they come looking for you all these years? At least they knew your mother and her family.

It would be very disappointing after all the heartache your mother went through, after all the sacrifices your DAD (the person you call step -dad had earned the right in every aspect to be called and respected as your dad) for you to throw all that away because of money.

When you were sick, who stood up all night supporting your mum emotionally whilst footing your bills - the man you call step dad

I suggest you go back to work. Tell your biological family that you need time and would appreciate they give you space/

Your dad has already given you the perfect answer, you are now a man. Choose wisely

The Catholic Church won't approve of her remarrying but she doesn't think they will disapprove of her having a double affair with two married men? Sigh.
This is what happens when people put religious values and traditions over what's right to their conscience.

I guess she thinks it's okay to ruin other women's happiness since her own men didn't want to stay with her. Maybe on some deeper level she blames the other ladies hence has no problem messing up their lives.
Romance › Re: My Supermarket Boyfriend Has Turned To Something Else (help) by cococandy(f): 8:16pm On Sep 11, 2016
Don't let anyone push you into what you're not ready for.
Sex isn't a payment for financial assistance. Except you guys have a prostitution arrangement. If he doesn't want to wait and you want to wait, then the relationship won't work. So it's best you decide if you want to leave for that or give in to his demands in order to keep him but it should never be as a repayment for whatever monies he spent.

Don't listen to these hypocrite dudes. You can never please them. If you asked him for money because he had sex with you, they will call you a prostitute. But they feel it's okay for you to pay back money in sex. Don't even.

P.S you know the dude more than we do. So can you tell if he's helping you financially in order to get into your panties or if he's helping you because he wants to?

If it's the former, just break up with him and go your way or one day he will rape you in the name of taking his reward. As we can see by the random sampling that is nairaland, many guys don't have problems with rape and many of them feel they are owed sex for monies no one forced them to spend. Be wise and know who you're dealing with.
