Not writing this to impress anyone, its a simple life experience which someone can learn one or more things from it, i could twerk the story if i want to but i dont wona deviate from the moral of the story. Thanks madam Sabi
So it's a made-up story.

Can you tweak it so that the lady gets some sense and leave the asswipe husband who decided to disrespect their marriage by bringing someone else into it in the name of second wife?

That would be a better read.

EfemenaXY:
Agreed.

But I don't believe this story.

What sane woman would give her two year old son to a step mother to raise? Suspicious story.

@OP: Where's the link to this story?
She definitely didn't give her child to the step mom. Not willingly.
The child was taken from her.

That's how they practice divorce in Nigeria.the man will claim the children even when he can change a diaper only to offload them on someone else to take care of for him just to spite the ex wife.this is a believable story.

They are not in the west where the children's welfare are considered first when deciding custody.

The men usually take them (if they want) because they can.

But you know the saying: "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips..."

Girl! You're so lucky to have a personal trainer. Make the most of her. That in itself is motivating enough. But I agree with Eds, though. You can equally get the same motivation for free off YouTube. All it takes (as you know is consistency and determination). You tube helped me a lot, from exercising, to dieting eating clean, to how to ginger yourself for the days you feel kinda down and don't want to exercise.

Don't shy away whenever you fall off the wagon. We all do at one point or the other but the important thing is that we motivate ourselves on here whenever that happens. kiss kiss

Why didn't I get to be the photographer or the one who kept the guys away?.

Hahahah. It's just too funny because I can literally see those ladies feeling like they fit and awesome.

EfemenaXY:
Now ladies, you know I've missed you all loads even though (in Kimoni's voice: I only drop by mostly on weekends), but I've got a pic for you all. Pls don't shoot the messenger. If anything, better grab the photographer, not Efe. grin

1st lady - in blue: That's just gotta be Edwife. Very tall, and never shys from taking the bull by the horn. Proper showgirl. :- tongue

2nd lady - in green: Damiso. Always happy, never lets life get her down. Check out her smile sef. tongue tongue

3rd lady - in purple: Definitely Kimoni. Without a shadow of doubt. The serious bookworm. Even now you can almost see her mentally calculating and grinding numbers in her brain. tongue tongue tongue

4th lady - in white: Cococandy. The model and fashion chick. Check out her shoes. But shoes wise, it's a stiff competition between her and Damiso - not sure who comes out trumps. tongue tongue tongue tongue

Photographer: Armyofone - she passed this information to me. cheesy

Notice how the men are kept at bay? That's Chillisauce's handwork... grin

Question though: Why the rope, ladies?? cheesy cheesy

@bold The man maybe rich, not everyone look's chubby even when they are wealthy. So no one can conclude if he is rich or not, moreover the bakground in that pic looks very remote, an artisan is likely to be a rich man in such a place.

The one i witnessed happened in my church.
the man wasn't rich either, and everyone was stupefied as to why the young lady would marry such an old man
. it do happen all the time, right from the biblical days when young girls were betrothed to men old enough to be their father, it is not new.

But what i haven't seen is a young man marrying a woman old enough to be his mother, the ones i have seen didn't end up in marriage...
@first bold, so maybe it's her own definition of love.
@second bold, how will you see?
You only see what you want to see. All these boys marrying women close to their graves for visa and papers fall under what category?

Don't All of them belong to the class of gold digging?

Well some people get motivated by being pushed but i doubt you are a disgrace to the healthy cause because you just had a baby. You should eat as much if you are breastfeeding and if you aren't, you have to lose weight slowly otherwise you will look worn out and older.

Take it one step at a time, you are already a disciplined person so it won't be much of a struggle to get back. Just make sure you have a lot of veggies in your system.Green is good for new mums.

If he didn't allow it, it wouldn't have happened. EVery father should be there when his child is being born.
If he was there and was supportive, he'd at least have the chance to take the baby from her if she didn't want it herself.they are both to blame.

purpleblood:
No matter the circumstance this is totally unacceptable in every standards. I'm not saying the father is right, but you don't know the condition of the father too. The woman has all the blame, if she actually did it. The father wouldn't have allowed this. When people sound the way you did, in a sane world, they are monitored closely because. You have the potentials of repeating the same act. I hope you don't one day.

I'll call on you to type that when the demonizing begins.

raumdeuter:
What is gender neutrality or what does it mean? If what you say is true then I would expect you to avoid them and marry one of the other 2billion men in the world.

Anyone that demonizes Nigerian women should marry foreign women, you cant be saying Nigerian women are evil and while you are in a foreign country still seek the few Nigerian women as partners, Thats hypocritical

Same for the womenfolks.

There are many guys here who would say Nigerian women are evil and end it with "Thats why I only date whites/Asians/Ghanaians" etc. Those ones would be logical

But to say Nigerian women are evil and be switching from one Naija woman to another especially when you are in an environment where other races exist

Majority of ladies complaining about Naija men are currently married to those Naija men and all at least here claim to have good if not perfect relationships.

Its either you are enjoying your Naija men and are trying to scare others away from the same thing you are enjoying, Or You are suffering with your Naija man and pretending to be enjoying it

There's nothing he can possibly proffer in rebuttal. When parallels are drawn, the circumstances prevalent in each of them - in this case in the two different eras - have to be brought to the front and centre, and have to, in spades, be largely identical before it can be bucketed as a reasonable line of argument.

I thought this was entitled: 'What is the African marriage about and what is its values?'.

Discussions as usual have gone off at a tangent with little to nothing to take home
.
That's because no one has anything to offer except the usual women be submissive unto death. "Accept cheating because your mothers did." Stop 'making' him beat you. Bla bla bla

According to NL standards, That's what African marriage is all about.
The man, his whims and nothing else.
It's that simple.

If they knew something else to say, someone would have said it.

I'll love to wake up one day and see a change in popular opinion to tune of "African marriage is all about mutual respect (not only husband respect), understanding, Love and mutual sacrifice (not one-sided sacrifice).

I'll love to see the day when and if something bad happens, people will condemn it for what it is and not say "this is Africa not the west" thereby implying that it is okay for us to accept rubbish in the name of culture.
Family › Re: What Is African Marriage About And What Is It Values? by cococandy(f): 3:03pm On May 20, 2016
I don't even know what to tell you.

My point is that I and some discerning people are not blind to the fact that people like you only wake up to start claiming gender neutrality when someone says something bad (even if true) about Nigerian guys' behavior. But somehow you manage to be silent when (as is the custom on this sexist forum) Nigerian women are being demonized.

I'm not fooled. No one is.

raumdeuter:
If you see the misogyny in the youth I'm sure it's also prevalent in the elderly. Which is why my first post is that both set avoid one another. Naija men avoid naija women

If you claim Naija men are evil and still end up with one of them then you're either lying or an hypocrite.

If the guys who bash nigerian women aren't married to nigerian then their case would make sense but for the women I see here who claim naija men are evil yet most of them still marry from these evil set. Maybe they desire to experience some of the evil in the men

He would have kicked her out asap. Most men can't take or forgive cheating. It wounds them deeply, which is why it baffles me that they would make someone else go through such pain and expect you to overlook.
Because they are selfish?
Because we enable them to think its okay for them to hurt us and act like its nothing but be like heaven is falling when we do?
Because somehow we have convinced them that what we feel is less important than what they feel?

Pick your choose.
