themanderon: Yet some accursed never do wells are still talking about returning the source of the pains Nigeria is going through next year. At times I wonder the kind of people one shares this country with. Fela aptly described them as a suffering and smiling people and he will be very much displeased that after all these years Nigerians are still trapped in this vicious cycle of suffering and smiling. Each successive government that replaces the former seems to take the nation further deeper into the darkest recesses of poverty and yet my people never seem to learn. They keep reinforcing failure while somehow hoping that things will turn out well. Go to a nation of sane people and see the way they change governments that fail them but over here religious, ethnic and tribal sentiments seems to guide us in choosing who will sink the nation further. APC is a curse to Nigeria and these ones they presented as their candidates will make Nigerians gnash their teeth for more years to come. Is APC in Lebanon or New Zealand or UK? Keep playing your local politics with sensitive issues. |

lhordspy: I dont support war or destruction in any form. But you see Ukraine. Dem go collect !
Roger crawford once said: "Being Challenged In Life Is Inevitable, Being Defeated Is Optional"
But Zelensky misused ukranian little chance. They could have avoided defeat and this heavy destruction that is following it. Russia made it optional for them. But they were fooled by the west, incojunction with their western media propaganda. They pushed them into war and made them continue it even when they Nato, the EU and the US, themselves are bunch of cowards that cant even risk putting their foot on the ground by joining it.
Now the time for settlement and peace has passed. Peace is forbidden in this war now. When Russia is done with them. They will beg for mercy, an off-the-table mercy. Unfortunately, there wont be none left. Is your brain Okay at all. The only problem Russia has is huge landmass and yet one man trying to be a Russian warrior is looking fo land to annex and an inconsequential monkey like you is rooting for who...the aggressor? |

SIRTee15: Nigeria needs it's own b2b online platform. It will eliminate all these greedy middlemen. Nigerian farmers also need to embrace new ways of doing business, which means getting the right information and embracing modern technology. If jaja of opobo could sell his palm oil directly to traders in Liverpool in the 19th century by buying his own ship, I don't understand why Nigerian farmers can't organise themselves in 2022 and market directly to foreign buyers. Even the so called middle men are mainly Lebanese and Indians. U rarely see Nigerians in that sector despite the huge opportunities and wealth in area. These foreigners cash away while Nigerians languish in penury. Nigerian problem isn't poverty but poor education and lack of foresight. I once asked a 500 level agric economics student in uniben to tell me about commodity market, her response was shocking- they've not been taught in school. The above is why Nigerians can't develop the agricultural value chain while our farmers are stuck in poverty. So true. Same cycle of middlemen unionizing to scheme cocoa farmers too was experienced. Most people don't know the significance of international prices. It helps you stay in sight of was is going on out there. |

sonnie10: See how you calculate it like the ginger would disappear and appear in foreign countries to be sold at #100k equivalent.
Air cargo alone is about $3 per kg. That means a 41kg bag would cost $123 just to transport outside.
If you go the sea freight route which takes for ever, you would still have to pay about $1 per kg. That is $41 for a bag just for shipping. sonic you a trader you will fly ginger out of the country? Wonderment. |

Kobonaire234: 1.Grow up. I don't back APC, PDP, or even Obident, never voted for Buhari.
2.All this talk, I recall hearing one adult grumbling about how low prices for bread (50kobo), maragarine (N2 ) and so forth were...in the late 1970's....in 1996. I even recall someone saying that a table fan cost N16...in 1981, and a new car cost N250...in 1975.
3.The issue is simple. We vote in leaders who do the same thing the previous ones did...and the naira keeps falling. APC is just doing the same thing...that the past ones did, only on a bigger and more godawful scale.
4.Either we start being a productive nation, attracting dollars, and the naira grows stronger...or we can keep on believeing that 1.2m barrels of crude per day revenue can satisfy a nation of 200 m people, when 10m cannot satisfy a whole Saudi of 40 m people...many of whom are poor.
Don't call me an APC supporter again. Thanks for missing my point. You are an incompetent political attack dog. No party holds the key to this mess. It is a structural one that needs restructuring. How good is the state where labour party candidate ruled? They still experience the same poverty all other states are experiencing. Just like other states, they go to Abuja for oil money to feed and pay salaries. They claim industry is there but does it reflect in tax revenues? |

Tsufyaan: Nawa but peak milk was never sold for 130 Naira in 2015 unless you're buying the watery peak milk. Peak milk Full cream if I remembered vividly was sold for either 220 0r 220 with the Hollande one as old for 270 Naira and the ordinary one being sold for 120 Naira. Even till now full cream peak milk is selling for 400 Naira in Lagos unless if you're living in Edo State where the cost of commodities are very very expensive. just a year ago, fullcream peak milk was around N250 in retails and N220 in market. I know what I am saying. I cannot remember the exact price as of 2015 but that figure you mentioned was the wholesale cost a year ago. You can ask those who sold it. |

Yesterday I was talking with some people, and most of them said this year they have not bought it, and some said they don't even know when last they took it. It's really painful, most Nigerians can't afford milk like this again. This fullcream version is very scarce and costly. The brand has been trying hard with their adverts but it istnt by ads alone. I see their ads and campaign on Nairaland often. |

LesbianBoy: First I want to say congratulations to Argentina but....
Why was Messi given the best player of the tournament instead of Mbappe? Even if it was given to Messi I think it should have been shared with Mbappe! That is 2 best players of the tournament!
Someone said because Messi won the world cup.
Let me remind you all that in 2014 Germany won the world cup yet Messi who didn't win the cup still was given best player of the tournament that year.
This is the reason many people still prefer CR7 because he is not pampered like this. And all his achievements were done with so much hate from even people around. There is politics in football. From grassroot to worldcup. That's why hooligans like Blatter who are educated always lead FA of nations. In 2010 they robbed sneider and gave messi when sneider just won treble with Inter and still left his mark in world cup. It took the world cup a move from summer to winter and shiity league standing for messi to conjur his best performance in Argentina shirt. |

Saintmary: So, because you have a wife with four kids makes you think you are smart?
They didn't tell you that stupid people also grow old?
You, in your egotistical little mind, you expect the entire Yoruba race to find and cook your type of food because you are who?
An entire culture dating back to prehistoric times should pander to your whims because you want food?
To top it all, I was trying to point out the foolishness in your post to you but in your great elderly stupidity, you can't even detect it.
The distaster in growing old without wisdom is that you will not only be the one affected but the innocent children who did nothing wrong to deserve the kind of foolish guidance they are inevitably going to be saddled with for most of their adult lives.
So, don't bite me in your anger, for the sake of those innocent little ones, get sense.
Summary:
Age is not what makes you wise, it's the application of what you have learnt over time that makes you wise.
How do we detect wisdom: the content of your words.
I'm done with you. Some rat faced tribe from one or two state feel their next point of conquest after the Itsekiris is Yoruba and naturally don't see anything bad in constantly dragging the Yorubas. This won't the first or last. |

Eriokanmi: I've never seen such an opportunistic tribe like fulani. Their man came to power but they messed up big time. Niger-delta too behaved this way. I remember mend, asari dokubo, jomogbomo, tompolo and the likes. They turned aso vila to their second home
I stand to be corrected, only yoruba didn't misbehave during obj's 2 terms in office. In fact, we didn't care.
Now that am supporting Obi, whom I strongly believe will win next year's election in all indications, I hope my igbo brothers too would behave in a mature and patriotic way. To be honest, this remains the fears of some undecided voters amongst us, not that they hate ibos per se. We live together peacefully and are now inter-marrying.
Opinions are welcome please cos we've never had an igbo president b4 so, we can't tell. Will the agitations stop once obi wins? God bless Nigeria. Save the last paragragh, you spoke my mind all through. When OBJ was there, no big deal for Yoruba's, in fact Hausa's enjoyed the most. |
