Good afternoon fellow nairalanders. Please advice me a viable business i can start with 300k. I am a private school teacher and I'm not ready to quit now until my business can sustain me. I work 7 to 5pm. Thanks my dear fellow nairalanders.
Seek God's face. Nairaland is full of fraudsters.

If I must suggest. I will say start small with maybe cooking and selling. Start with 75k at most when it grows, you can assess growth rate then decide in weather to inject more cash or pull out.

Nigerians abroad, how many of you are considering relocating back to the 'motherland' once this whole pandemic/lockdown debacle is over?

If you are, state your reasons here..
What are you coming back to Nigeria to do? to charge you phone or buy paracetamol?

Thank you very much for the prayer I receive and believe in Jesus name . I am hard working , i work 2 jobs cleaning, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. As I am typing I am at my second job I will finish at 7pm
Hmmm... good luck in your quest to regain some of your children. But you will need more than some menial jobs to have the kind of money that can help you win back your children. Either by standard of living or by lawyer fee.

Now you can see how the law of replenishment as commanded by God took effect both in Adam and Noah leading to the presertvation of the human race. If you can believe this why is it hard for you to beleieve the same God if he tells you those creatures are within 6,000 yrs of age and no more. Science is good it is the contiuation of God's works on earth by his highest creatures created after his own image, infact he plainly told man to be fruitful and multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it, meaning research what i've created, try to know more about the things I didn't plainly explain to you. But the line is drawn where He PLAINLY TELLS you something with assurance and truthfulness, and a man who cannot prolong his days in the name of science or scientific discovery tells you otherwise and you believe such at the expense of Gods revealed truth, such a person will not go unpunished, for undermining the highest authority that controls the universe taking him for a liar. Take this for a fact, anywhere science differs from God they are always found to be liars, even if it takes a millenium to unearth such lies.
A task and not law.

God created beast and all the living creatures on the fifth day and man on the sixth. So biblically speaking, there existed no tangible period of distance between both creatures to warrant invisibility and ignorance. Infact all animals according to biblical narratives were named by Adam the first human being created by God.
God told Noah to replenish after the flood. He also told Adam same after creation.

which kind lie be this now. so living things like this are already in existence long ago before God created Adam and Eve? how old is the earth now?
There is no where bible says creatures weren't in existence before man. in fact Genesis points to existence of creatures before Adam & Eve

Waiting for religious clowns to come here and try to disprove this.
If you don't believe that scientists can discover things which dates back to millions of years, but believe that a virgin gave birth to a boy who walked on water and then died, only to wake up three days later and ascend into the sky, then you're a compound fool.

PhenomenalAustin:
I'm sorry for bothering you all but please hear me out.

I'm posting this on behalf of my uncle.

I was working in a company, and was being paid 40,000 a month not including other allowances. A new company called me to work with them as an Officiator and we negotiated a salary of 60,000.

Both companies produce the same products.

They agreed to pay and I resigned from the other company. I started my new job in Oct. last year and was paid all through Oct., Nov. and Dec.

Earlier this year, January precisely, I had a little issue with my boss. The misunderstanding was that I complained to him that the chemicals we use during productions was adversely affecting me. In the previous company where I worked, I didn't work during the production of the products as I was allergic to the chemicals used.

On a working day, during the time for production, he asked me to join in the production but I politely reminded him about my allergies to the chemicals being used. He commanded me while shouting that I should go back and work. I normally have heart burns, dizziness and severe migraines when I'm exposed to these chemicals.
I left during production as the chemical adversely affected me.

The next day, he came and asked if I had finished the work he commanded me to do the previous day. I apologised to him that I didn't because of the chemicals rxns which he knew about. He didn't say anything but from his body language, I thought everything was alright.

I returned the following day, only to receive a 2-week suspension notice. I was surprised and asked about my offense which the General manager told me, the boss was really pissed and so mad at me which I also explained to the GM and he was really surprised as I did no wrong. Nonetheless, he advised I serve my suspension sentence.

After suspension, I was given a review of my salary and my salary was slashed by 20,000 to 40,000 because of the issue...

I was really confused and bewildered because out of the revised 40,000 I receive per month, the company takes 15,000 out of it for my rent loan...

I've been apologising while also pleading with my boss to reconsider his decision as I'm a family man and 25,000 realistically, will not be sufficient for I and my family. He hasn't yet changed his stance.

I'm so confused, please I need your opinions, suggestions and help whatsoever..

I'm sorry for bothering you.. Thanks

Please help me out please... My uncle is really down at the moment...

Thanks!
You wanted to go back to you former work place arrangement and they equally gave you your former salary In exchange for the unplanned exception. It is straight equation and logic.

The reason you're saying this is because the Nigerian government is yet to shut down most of these schools. There are employment laws guiding every sector of the economy. How many of these schools enrol their staff on pension scheme? medical insurance? staff training? leave bonus? How many even comply with the minimum wage? Education is not an informal sector and you just can't run it like a mechanic shop.

The kind of behaviour you're promoting among employers in the private sector is why many employees independent teachers will ALWAYS leave to public schools at the slightest opportunity.
I agree there has to be systemic regulations to guard against harsh working conditions and low output quality, but dictating salary and when it is paid is well beyond what govt can handle.if they make the pay level standard or have a minimum standard it will quickly lead to a collapse in affordable school fees level and the pressure will easily reflect in the public schools who cannot cope even with the seeming bottomless pockets of their sponsors - the FG.

I don't subscribe to that school of thought. In a formal employment, employers bear most (not all) of the risks.

If the students are not paying now, what about the huge amounts they paid previously out of which you gave out peanuts as salary?

Salary and compensations should be structured in a way that teachers can get paid even on holidays. Teaching job is not an informal employment.
You arent making much sense sir. Did employer force anyone to accept. peanut pay? Never.

The idea of labelling what has been agreed as peanut after you are in the system is a very senseless one. Do you know how many school owners are struggling financially? if school business was that lucrative, they won't be struggling. Go to the bankers and their marketers to ask how school owners are performing in repayment of loans and you will hear stories.

This is so annoying. Is it a crime being Nigerian?? The government should consider those private school teachers and tell all civil servants to resume back to work. Students are even eager to resume back. I have someone that has not been paid since the outbreak of corona virus having 4 children at home. No money and no food to take care of them whereas, the politicians are there making money through the pandemic. Let everyone resume back to work and give precautions which nobody should break. #let us resume please cry
Almajiri are even going about their business and spreading the plague while govt restricts family breadwinner. It is a harsh contradiction.

Very difficult times for private school teachers. Even home lessons have become impracticable as parents would not want to expose their kids.

I think private school teachers need to form an organized union; drive the call for better pay, better compensation and reward, etc.
If you a school owner will you pay staff when students aren't paying?
Education › Re: Private Schools Teachers, How Are You Coping During This Lock Down? by CodeTemplar: 10:18am On May 20, 2020
Tonylyte:
I don't know if those of you teaching in private schools, like my humble self are facing the same difficulties like me too.

Are you getting paid by your employers during this lock down?

Our case is different here, ever since the lock down began we have not been paid even a dime or reached by our employer to know how we are coping during this tough period.

Those of us that understand better how things work, is it proper that way? What are your thoughts on this? Share your experiences too-those of us in private sectors.
There is no way they will pay if students or pupils aren't paying them. No input means no output on employer's part. Simple logic.
