According to THE, CU has 0% international students and UI has 1%. Although, I don't know them by their names, it still shows more international students prefer UI. I'm aware of this but would still choose international exposure for my kids above anything else. The exposure Unilag gave opened my eyes to see the possibility of what could be abroad.
And how much do the Intl student pay in UI?

The exposure unilag gave you must be a cold room one or cold bottle of small stout exposure....

For you to be talking about some phantom and intangible exposure like this, I want to assume you are willing to tell us more about these exposure.

Don't take it too personally, my friend, CodeTemplar. This conversation has been largely for the fun of it to me. Anywhere else I find you and HigherEd trying to cook up the usual "CU larger than life" meal that gives you both that euphoric feeling, I'll be there to remind you it's simply a fenced secret society with a good number of cold room in high places and that only feeds the public with exactly what it wants it to know.

On a lighter note, I like you and your secret society brother, HigherEd, pun intended, who have been consistent in forcing the message on everyone who takes a minute to glance at your comments. Your rewards are indeed in heaven.

I have also noticed with keen interest how you, CodeTemplar, who's business of the day is usually to fight head over heels for CU, have finally made it only an early morning routine. I'm quite sure you would have dropped my head off entirely if you had a bit more time. Have you found a job in an oil company?
And what links oil company to the hate inspiration convoy?

Anyway, you can become a full-time codetemplar-data analyst or codetemplar-data engineer all you want. That doesn't qualify as a oil job you either.

There you go again. In your attempt to indulge a secret society, CU, and exonerate it completely, you make it even more terrifying to the sight. How on earth do you dare justify such misbehaviour as consensual? Consensual sex in exchange for what? Is it on that premise, you earned a degree from the school?

Don't bother putting comparison between CU and Unilag. I wouldn't ever have sacrificed my experience in Unilag for a secret society where all sort of illegalities, human right violation and sexual harassment in guise of consensual sex are perpetrated, buried and never heard of.

Feel free to ride on a phone call that led to the termination of the former registrar's appointment when we all know whether she made the call or not, he would still have been fired by the almighty Papa because the media had feasted too much on the news. But would he have been fired if the news never got to Papa? No! It would be swept under the carpet because he's another Papa's boy.
Cold room uni boy calling CU secret society is the height of it all.
So you mean an act between two and hidden makes the society a secret one but an act between many and hidden makes cold room uni a open society? I see your sense of judgement has been totally blackened by your "experience in unilag". Not surprised at all.

When Universities mgts claim govt not funding them enough this is one of the way govt funds are looted and no delivery of project for the money spent.
If they can't deliver a N2bn project with the specific purpose how can they be trusted with a N50bn project?
This is how govt and FG projects are mismanaged and eventually abandoned.
Then you hear people govt didn't fund them enough.
Worthy of note is the fact that a project meant to be completed was still at the second floor. Nobody is asking questions about that.

Good morning, Covenant University boy. You and I both know CU is never under the scrutinizing lens of the media as much as Unilag is. As a matter of fact, it's a fraternity that treats and buries it own issues at the center of the school while smiling to the public, qouting figures, stats and seeming all is entirely well. These issues are never again to be heard even among the students.

A boy with a ruthless gut sued the University and secret spilled that the registrar, as well as other principal officers, in who's care parents should find their children protected, is comfortably, sexually assaulting them in a cold room know as one of the highest offices in a university. That case was never meant to see light of the day if it were business as usual.

There's no way on earth the sexual predators occupying the highest offices in CU, all the way down the ladder, would deny knowing such ever existed until the case was lying openly in the court of public opinion. Guess what! Papa himself fired the man involved. A sexual beast could not even be suspended until the arrival of almighty papa and his consent. This means many more cases would be buried as far as papa doesn't get to know.

In a liberal university as Unilag, there's a fair hearing process just as you'll find in any other sane university of the world. The cardinal principle of law is he who asserts must prove. Koki Mordi proved her case and got the predators out of the school. You cannot expect a kangaroo judgement, as you might find often in CU, to maliciously take away innocent people's job. That's why the boy who sued lost at CU but won in court, although on technicalities but on the standard which it should be.

You'll also agree with me that such investigation carried out would only scale through in a university as Unilag, a citadel free for all. Kiki might not have made it pass the gate or arrested for trespass if she's unlucky to get in. Ills and rot that happen in CU remains in CU. Well, it should and its students should live with it. We really don't need to know.
Cold room University boy, stop ranting senselessly about how papa had to be the one to fire the said guy. If you have any proof of anyone's complaint against the fired registrar being suppressed please present it or shut it forever.

Unilag A.K.A Cold Room Uni, is a well know heaven for sexual harassment that even the VC and Chancellor combined can't influence misdeeds of rat talk less of a full human.

Kiki can come try her luck in CU, I am sure no one restricts movement of prospective students like you subtly implied in you last paragraph. Let Kiki and her likes go there and try their luck.

@bold, please endeavour to follow issues to the end before trying to make another issue of them. The court victory chapter was abruptly brought to an end by emerging evidences which made their way online for all to see.

Like CU or not, they led the way for the most impactful set of reforms we have seen in the last 20 years in Nigerian schools. They opened the floor for fair hearing ( that's if you understand the concept of fairness) of students. They attacked the rots cold room university and likes tried institutionalizing like sexual harassment, prostitutiin, occultic society, yahoo yahoo, loose dressing, money for grade and sex for grades as well as sex for admission.
How many sexual harassment cases were treated in cold room uni in the last 20 years for example? hardly any but check CU records, they do it from time to time as the cases comes up.
The said registrar went after an evidence emerged and not when papa intervened as wrongly implied by you. take note of that.

Covenant university boy, what are the cold rooms over there in CU call again? Oh! I now remember. They are the registrar and principal officers' offices.

Away from the jabs, I think we should assess the situation rationally here. A project was meant to be completed November, 2018 and in early 2019, the slab of the first floor collapsed. Imperative to note they've not not gone pass the first floor because the supervisor would not accept their shoddy work. Consultants and supervisors who visited the site admitted DUTUM was doing a shady job and using archaic technology for the job.

The question thus becomes, is this how it executed the construction of the Senate building of CU? If it is, then CU senate building is a time bomb ticking to explode, it's simply a matter of time.
While I won't sit here and deny the existence of sexual misconduct in CU, I think we all know how the management of CU frowns at it and never have to be influenced by media exposé of the act before daring to act. Can we say same about cold room University? If CU was closing their eyes to theirs, I am sure it would have evolved into a cold room situation like unilag where they formed a deadly clique of harassers.

As for the contractor, The man says he has completed such projects before and I have no reason to doubt him. The possibilities are endless when it comes to public or federal project, kickbacks could starve the projects of funds, maybe a rival did something malicious but I find it hard to believe a contractor will bring in substandard material and do a poor job step by step in front of a whole UniLag. I seriously doubt that was the case.

Selective border closure. It is easier for Nigeria to enforce laws like criminal laws, tax laws, Traffic laws, Terrorism laws and other ones on Southern and western culprits or suspects than in the North. In the North, when you are a bandit, terrorist, law breaker, traffic offender, you will be pardoned even paid millions for you to stop. However, in the south, no shaking, na jail straight.

This so called border closure will not be enforces in the north, same with other laws.

Christianity Etc › Re: Can A Born Again Christian Lose His Salvation? by CodeTemplar: 7:59pm On Nov 23, 2019
solite3:
The answer to that question biblically is a resounding, clear, emphatic, joyful, glorious “No.” A born-again person cannot become dead, cannot be unborn again. I will give some biblical thinking here, trying to be as textual as possible, and not just theological.

No Dropouts

The life that is imparted in the new birth is precisely eternal life. “This is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life [has given us eternal life], and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11). So he didn’t give us temporary life. He gave us eternal life. We are already participating in the life of the age to come.

“If you are called, you cannot lose your salvation.”

Here is another crucial word: “Those whom he predestined.” This is from Romans 8:30: “Those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Now, glorification is the final state of permanent salvation. This verse says that all the called — with nobody dropping out — are justified, and all the justified — with nobody dropping out — are glorified.

So the answer is this: If you are called, you cannot lose your salvation. And I am going to argue that being called and being born again are identical biblical categories. We will be justified, and we will be glorified, because we have been called — that is, we have been born again.

Beckoned to Life

The kind of call Paul is talking about in Romans 8:30 is the call of Lazarus, by Jesus, from the grave: “Lazarus, I know you are dead. Now come out” (see John 11:43). The call creates the life, and that is what happened to everybody who is a Christian: God’s sovereign call created the life. That means that there is a promise attached to the call.

Here are a few texts that show this connection. First Thessalonians 5:23–24 says, “May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely . . . at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.” So the logic here is: If you have been called, God is faithful. You will be kept for the last day.

Or here it is again in 1 Corinthians 1:8–9: Christ “will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son.” So now you can go back and see why (in Romans 8:30) all the called are justified, and all the justified are glorified — because God is faithful. There is nothing automatic.

Preservation of the Predestined

A lot of people think eternal security is like a vaccination. They think, “When I was 6 years old, I prayed, and God vaccinated my arm. Therefore, I can’t get the disease of damnation.” That is not the way it is. Rather, it is more like entering lifetime therapy with a doctor who says, “You are my patient. You will do what I say, and I will get you to the end, whole in the last day.”

Here is Jeremiah 32:40, which has to be one of my all-time favorite verses on perseverance: “I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.” So the new covenant that Jesus bought with his blood is a covenant of preservation. It is not just security in some mechanical way. It is preservation in an active way. God is active in my life.

“Perseverance in faith is the evidence that we have been made part of Christ.”

When I ask people, “How do you know you are going to be a Christian when you wake up in the morning?” a lot of people are kind of shocked by the question. They respond, “Oh, because, you know, it is like being human.” No, it is not like being human. You will wake up a Christian tomorrow morning because God is faithful. God will wake you up and awaken in you his faith.

Faithfully He Keeps

Here are a couple more verses that highlight God’s faithfulness: “I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion” (Philippians 1:6). The reason Paul talks like that is because of the way God’s faithfulness connects to his call, his new birth.

Or Jude 24: “Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling . . .” I preached on this verse a while back, because I was, at age 67, just finishing up my pastoral ministry. I am overwhelmed by the fact that God kept me.

He kept me. He didn’t let me fall down and bring reproach upon his name and destroy the church. I don’t look back on that and put my thumb in my armpits and say, “What a good boy am I.” I say, “Amazing! Amazing! Now unto him who kept me and will keep me . . .”

Anchor of Our Assurance

This leaves, I think, only one key question that people always have and should have: “Well, what about people who are in the church? They have been deacons or elders, and they look like they were saved in college. Here they are five years later, and they have thrown it all away. Some of them die in that condition. What about them?”

I think there are two key verses that people should think about long and hard. First John 2:19: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.” The words of us in that verse surely mean “born again with us, grafted into Christ with us” — and they weren’t. They looked like they were. They said some of the right things. They had “tasted . . . the powers of the age to come” (Hebrews 6:5). But they were not born of God.

“You will wake up a Christian tomorrow morning because God is faithful.”

Additionally, Hebrews 6 is a big stumbling block for people about the kinds of spiritual experiences a person can have and still be lost. But Hebrews 3:14, I think, is an absolute key verse in that book: “We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.”

The author doesn’t say, “If you hold your confidence firm to the end, you will get a share in Christ.” He says, “We know that we have had — from the beginning of our lives with Christ — a share in Christ, because we endure to the end.” This means perseverance in faith is the evidence that we have been made part of Christ.

And when that perseverance doesn’t hold, then we were never in the assurance. Here is the key: The assurance, therefore, is not automatic. It is assurance rooted in our confidence in an absolutely sovereign, covenant-keeping God, who gave his Son on behalf of sinners so that, as we look to him, the Holy Spirit testifies to us that we are the children of God (Romans 8:16).

You are very wrong. What is salvation? Who is a Christian? Is a Christian one who writes Christianity in WAEC form or one who is Christlike?A christian can lose his/her salvation. Even the logic of "the unpardonable sin" support that fact.
