Education › Re: Covenant University Would Produce A Nobel Laureate Before 2022 - Oyedepo by CodeTemplar: 4:42pm On Nov 05, 2018
HigherEd:
The university should set it's gaze on Economics. Economics is a good place to start. The only problem would be in the area of policy adoption by the Govt.
Economics in Nigeria has a huge room for improvement that can be duly exploited but I think Agric too is another aspect.
In Nigeria we not only export raw crude to import finished products like petrol, we also export cocoa to import chocolate and 70% can't afford it. Nigeria is the fourth largest producer of cocoa.

Insha Allah they will.
Covenant University should just introduce mixed-dormitories.
That's the only way a future Nobel-Laureate can be birthed from the school.
Always typing senseless stuff to get likes and shares instead of being first to make sense FTMS.
It is achievable and I know Oyedepo isn't an empty talker like your favorite political party. He knows where he is talking from.

Go to the nearest LGA to where you reside and ask properly. It is done in LGA Secretariat around the country. Also Voters Cards is done there.

if in OP shoes I will go for the contract job because it pays better and can be extended. State job will likely have you looking up to your pension.

It's a long-term project. These guys have visions and they are patient too. Thirty years ago, you would hardly find a Muslim ilorin man in any Kwara State civil service top positions because they weren't as exposed academically as the mostly Christian south. Today, the number of Christian south in any sensible position is less than 5%. Do the math.
You are confusing politics of domination for advancement in education. How many of those Muslims in the position merited it?

Yeah hence my commendation of them. Imagine If other churches emulate RCCG upto or even beyond this scale; the huge rippple effect it will have on the society. Thats the good thing about true christians, quest to make positive response when criticized unlike some others who look to kill any who criticize them. Thumbs up to RCCG and leadership on this.
Some other ones like Winners are doing well equally.
Christianity Etc › Re: RCCG Awards N300 Million Scholarships To 694 Students by CodeTemplar: 4:27pm On Nov 04, 2018

To what scale? If the members contribute 1 billion per month and the church gives 10 people scholarship of 100k each? What is that? Has it always been significant to this level?
There is nothing wrong for a church or individual to make amends where it has hirtheto been failing and i see that in RCCG and some few others with this and other gestures and thats great. It shows a true christian nature.
The scholarship must be significant going by the figures on display here. N300m to 694 students averages about N430,000.00
Now that's huge by any standard.

Dangote making lives better since 1890 cool
What is the point of govt stifling the cement competition and make dangote artificially rich while citizens are homeless?
Is that a example of Dangote making life easier?
Education › Re: Dangote Hires 15 Foreign Professors For Kano University by CodeTemplar:

I see it, but they are majorly doing it in a crooked way. UI doesn't enjoy nearly the amount invested into ABU. Over the years, the Min Of Education, NNPC and CBN have given ABU some very suspicious level of funding that other universities down south are not priviledged to.

BUK's solar electricity project is so massive and bankrolled by govt apparatus. I wonder if southereners realise this silent mandate by the North to give advantage to themselves as regard educational institutions. But know this while Southern public schools may be deprived of the level of funding in Northern schools, the private sector led education sector is clearly dominated by the south, from primsary to tertiary level.
The north have been using this rough tactic to develop themselves for decades. Their eyes are fixated on the South's resources to the point they neglect their own potential.
As I type this, they are building power plants through NNPC in Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano while Fashola has become a pothole minister. Ironically, the refineries which are part of the NNPCs core responsibility is almost in coma.

They are a confused people. Boko haram is also against the western education they secretly wish they can overtake the south in.

I laugh when other tribes see Northerners as unintelligent Abo..kis....they are silently taking over their educational structures from Southern bred academics and professors...see the amount of scholarships offered to their indigenes.....
They would have gone for good southern professors...but they know they would dominate and Populate their system with southern brethren, knowing fully well they(Northerners) cannot do this in the south ...rather they went for foreign Profs. who would not care about domination but would mentor the Northern academics.

Take a look at Ekiti for example and see how the educational structures are rapidly falling. If you have ever schooled up North...there is a systematic plan to have Northerners...foreign trained and obviously better...to take over from southerners in most Universities... eg ABU and BUK...

I hope other states wake up...
If the Abokis are intelligent as you imply, why aren't they being employed to run their own schools themselves. The problem with northern Nigeria is that they are always trying to compete with southern Nigeria. The south is simply trying to be self sufficient and not trying to outdo the north.
The suspended NHIS boss for example spent lots of years in the west but look at his morals.

Now this is a beautiful thing. A fantastic response to the criticism so far. The church showing the way in charity just like it should be. Maybe wuthout all the criticism they wouldn't have noticed where they were going wrong.
More of these from even other and the society will change for the better as people see the practical application of what they preach. Good one RCCG and may others emulate.
Churches have been giving scholarship to members for decades and I am surprised by your comment here.

So govt should bring fees lower to accommodate all instead of upholding standard. Clap for yourself.

bro chill where do you even see that manual labour... Out of the 2 month holiday one month is almost over before i could get something to do and at the end of the day i realized less than 40k still yet i spend part of it as upkeep during the holiday the money on my acct now is less than 25k and my rent will be due by january ending, i will be spending 100 naira everyday as transport (will still have to trek a long distance)... I woke up to check my portal and meet 23k as tuition plus faculty charges and minor charges its over 30k now tell me how you want me to cope? I have left where i am working so its too late to go back...i wouldn't mind if you help out though. .... There are many self sponsoring students who even find it difficult to pay the former fee now how do you expect them to pay with this?
That's how u guys play the victim card and confuse people. Go and work for your fee of you value what govt is contributing toward your education.
