Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Enenche Blasts Critics Asking Churches To Build Industries by CodeTemplar: 7:43pm On Sep 03, 2018 |
vaxx: Church enterprenurer are smart, building industry is not a good idea for the church since it will raise the risk of being tax and monitor financially by the government. Rather the church will prefer to establish more branches as it is more lucrative.
why?
Because it requires minimum capital with zero need for tax payment but has a multi billion naira potential;
How?
because the church positions itself as an entity which appears to have in high supply of what the society truly demands ;Nigeria church understand what the society demand and it is playing on it to maximise the benefit.
what does the society demand? => ‘Security’. So from financial security to medical security, afterlife security etc is more rewarding to them than building industry.
They church enterprenurer are business men with great marketing skills and with a good sense of identify less risk and high profit bustness potentials .
My own appeal to them is this......... Your advice is like encouraging hospitals to have more bed spaces and less drug supply. |

HigherEd: No problem really, as long as those lecturers being sponsored by Tetfund are studying Literature or Arabic etc. It would be saddening if any lecturer is sent to study STEM courses in Sudan.
Then secondly my question to baffa goes thus, you are the one who criticized private universities here in Nigeria for not being cheap, yet you release 9 million naira to folks to go study arabic/literature in sudan. What is the use of ABU, Bayero, Unimaid and Al-Qalam university?
Tetfund policy explicitly states that Nigerian lecturers can only be sponsored in top 1000 universities in the world(Times Ranking) but here you are sponsoring lecturers in sudan which has no university in top 1000 by Times standard and top 2000 by webometrics standard. The best university in Sudan - Uni Of Khartoum can only rank 5th in Nigeria, so why are we setting up kangaroo policies and enrishing sudan unnecessarily... When I speak at times it may look like I have some form of hatred for northern folks. Any agency or body with impressive representation of northerner is always having these kinds of challenges. I once asked about what foreign nationals who are studying in Nigeria pay as fee in public universities because of things like these. What TETFund is doing is like NNPC sending staff member to Angola or Niger or even Ghana to learn about crude oil related management when those nations should be the ones consulting big brother NNPC/Nigeria. If we can use public funds to buy Ramadan rams then nothing surprises me about Nigeria. |

HigherEd: “Professors who are your supervisors look for you; they visit you. It happens only in Sudan, not Nigeria,” he said.
Jimoh said: “When you look at the student-to-teacher ratio, there are many professors. Also, when you are qualified, you get admission; it’s not like ours where, out of 100, only 10 would get admission. We have the potentials in Nigeria, only that we are not using them.” Mohammed said he left Sudan, not only with his certificates, but also with a renewed mind on how best to relate with his students and ensure maximum productivity.
“Immediately I went back, I was supervising my students the way my professor treated me. I invited them to my house and served them drinks. They were very surprised, wondering what was happening. I said that’s the advantage of studying abroad,” he said. He said his relationship with students was very cordial, adding that in Sudan, there was no gap at all as students could speak to their professors anytime, even at the market.
“The moment you come to his office he gives you a cup of tea and you relax. That relationship is lacking in Nigeria,” said Mohammed. “If we can borrow from what they are doing here, I am suggesting if TETFUND can give incentives to every professor in Nigeria, if they are able to graduate a particular number of students, it may encourage them to fasten their belts,” Usman said. |

How can a section of the population from part of their meager income start sponsoring the govt when the govt on another angle is sponsoring religious trips and fasting for other religion? Crazy ! |

magicminister: I’m neither a Muslim nor an Hausa person. I read this article objectively and I totally agree with him. We need an education system that is relevant to the people. Why would someone trying to study Arabic or Hausa language in nigeria need to pass an English based exam??
I feel that a better alternative would’ve been to suggest that English also be learnt by people focused on Islamic education. That way, they’re not alienated from their societies. That is like saying we should construct a third lane on our roads for people who may not want to share roads with others. English is the language you and I must learn to communicate at national level. They have Arabic and others have Hebrew and greek,. they have Hausa and others have Yoruba, Ibibio and Ijaw. These people and their backwardness that has interwoven with a huge sense of entitlement. |

PediakAuthor: Let us face the reality... i am not against the men of God using exotic cars or private jet... who am i to touch the anointed one of God...? I am only being factual and practical... but wait.. why is it that church members cannot afford to send their kids to a school built by their church? these and many other things have been bothering me about the modern faith... let me just drop my pen here for now... tnx The bold is true for some churches but false for most. A church like winners gives scholarship to those they can or want to and then allow people who can afford the set standard to vie for the remaining admission slots. If you understand the last sentence very well, you will realizes that the school is as good as free or technically free. The church cant take average tithe of a Nigerian that's less than #50,000- for a whole year and then flip it into #700,000+ in school fee subsidy. The wise thing to do is to set a standard for the school according to her founder's vision, charge whatever it takes to maintain that standard per student, sponsor the number of students the ministry or church can sponsor by offering the scholarship equivalent, and finally select the best of those who can afford the set standard from among those who didn't make the scholarship. This is what some brilliant churches are doing already and they are running smoothly enough. Even the govt that makes tax compulsory can't provide absolutely free education for all the citizens, how then can a church that is only funded by 10% of some citizens fully subsidize church owned schools where unbelievers can claim the faith(Christianity) just enjoy the subsidy the church provides? If you think about it deeply, mega churches are the solution to our problems and not the cause as people like to claim? Other religion pay seeds regularly and spend heavily but aren't getting the kind of attention you are giving Churches and Christians. |

EPL has been weak for the past four seasons and it is only natural that any strong team that emanate dominate. The points man u got would have won a league title between 2006-'13. Liecester winning the title is proof of this. |

When you consider that Guardiola won three titles in a one team league and got a lot of favour with bad refereeing decisions in UCL (2009 against Chelsea) then his record isn't so great. What is left is largely his tiki-taka possession game play. |
