I feel truly sad for Nigeria and the fate of her citizens whenever a story pops, and the core of it is to deflect the responsibility of the consequences of a poor judgement or terrible decision from the president. You'll hear "he was tricked or deceived", as if that itself is not an indictment on his capacity to process things. It's quite shameful! |
Here we go again! Has Atiku himself ever mentioned this on the campaign trail? Same situation we've had to painfully put up with a Buhari, who technically did not promise anything other than drawing salaries and allowances as well as making nepotistic appointments. |
ScamHunter:You'll agree with me that students-undergraduates, youth corps members, unemployed graduates possibly away from their localities looking for jobs-would make up no less than 50% of that demography (youths). If that huge percentage is not sufficient to place some limits on your projection, then your optimism is on another level! |
ScamHunter:Well, I doubt if your sample population is sufficient to infer that Obi would win the presidential election. There's something quite tricky about the dominance of youths in the collection of the PVCs. For the better part, I know a good number of them just need it as some recognizable/acceptable form of alternative national identification, and not necessarily for the purpose of voting. More demoralising is the fact that the youths are the ones who are busy applying to be polling officers and hence would not be available to vote the LP at the polls. Need I add the bulk of undergraduate youths who are away in school and would not be at their locality to participate in the elections, for logistical reasons. I don't mean to dampen your optimism but have chosen to be very measured in my projections. I have done my part: transferred my polling unit, and is already in possession of my PVC. I intend to vote rightly, and more importantly so that my vote can cancel the unfortunate vote of some other uninformed/induced/misguided voter. |
; backbone503:. . You see, na insurance companies for declare heavy losses after that insensitive former January 31st deadline. These fellas would have seen how they grossly underestimated the capacity of already overstressed Nigerians to fight back their silly policies. You throw millions into poverty by your clear lack of capacity and vision and still think you can rob same downtrodden of the earnings/cash savings. 10 days is good enough time for redemption. The CBN just has to make the new notes available (the least being like 50% of mopped up monies) and talk about cashless policy from there. |
WibusJaga:If you're familiar with the Central/General Hospital, Warri, then you'd know your best bet is to first reconcile with your maker if any medical emergency takes you there. In fact, you have lesser chances of returning whole. |
ponishah:Not true sir. I applied to have my PU transferred after following the procedure spelt out by the Op |
Fibonacci88:the way I understand it, an application for a transfer of Polling Unit, once successful, invalidates the PVC yet to be retrieved because a new one bearing the new choice, and any/authorized changes may have been effected and issued |
TheOldGods:Thanks for the enlightenment. I just revalidated as a voter. Problem is, I didn't quite see the part where I would be asked to make a choice of the new polling centre/unit Where did I miss it? Mine is a twin problem: my PVC got defaced coupled with the fact that I relocated. This has to be the best option for me because creating the time to spare on those queues would be very hard for me. PS; I've been able to complete the application to have my PU transferred to a place of choice now. You just save me a hell lot of stress. Thank you very much |
Mr Op sir, as a PR consultant, I'm dazed at how amazingly you've done this whitewash aimed at marketing Okowa. Truth is, it's now very clear that you can explain away incompetence once you have a good command of the English language. To your "achievements ", kindly ask the government to furnish you with names , addresses, contract sums, beneficiaries (in the case of empowerment, both of humans and Cooperatives, with amount received) so we can burst your lies. It's okay if Atiku considers him fit to run with him on a joint ticket, but spare us the lies. No be by force to list achievements! I wish Okowa and PDP luck. |
ATEAMS:Yeah. He said so and I quite agree. As an observer, I am quite cool with the aspirations of BAT, CRA and PYO. I love his eloquence and the seeming clarity if his visions. I wish him luck. Would, unfortunately, have to put off the generator to catch some few hours of sleep. There's still a round of daily grind to do starting 8am. |
Whatever is best for the security and wellbeing of the greater population of Lagosians should guide the governor in rescinding or modifying his order Truth is Hausas don't remain wherever they're domiciled, outside the north, to vote during elections. They go back home! Sanwo-Olu shouldn't be fooled into thinking he would get any massive votes from Hausas. Moreso, more than 50% of these so-called Hausas are migrants from Niger and naturally shouldn't have anything to do with voting in our elections, on a good day. |
Abascoh:If I echo you now, them go say no wetin police do my family that year na im cause the bad belle. Just check out!! |
. I no fit cry!Such a sad thing that, however mentally deficient a candidate for an election is, he only has to be the most popular(other things being equal), and is catapulted to a position very well above his capacity. When i voted in 2015, aside thinking holes would be plugged, i was hoping security would be better managed. How wrong that has turned out to be. Borrowing in quatum that makes this administration a record holder, yet nothing to show. I hardly would blame them, afterall some 109 Senators and 774 Representatives have elected to make themselves rubber-stamp, so i'll applaud them for such mindless gang-up. They're all doing well! |
Smartgunna:A loss I dread to imagine as a parent. May God give you immense strength to cope with the irreplaceable loss and above all, make your joy full with beautiful others. Amen |
While he was around, on any of my visits to him, particularly when he was recuperating from those barrage of age-induced illness, he would smile: tell me not to worry that he would be around for a lot more years. I wished! Got a call; papa was unable to move, thought it was manageable till we had to move him to hospital. For 2weeks his frail body failed under the excess of medications and procedures he underwent. When I returned to check on him few days before his passing, he was unconscious while the doctors still sold us hope of a turnaround. ![]() I lost my friend. Death ensured his promise of being around for some good more years was broken! I'd eternally miss my dad, he did his awesome bit and is gone to a rest fully deserved. God rest his soul. Amen. |
Strongdickfresh:I've had to deal with this situation before. #40k involved and still unresolved 3yrs after so I'd wish you luck in your pursuit. But, there's quite some differences in our case: yours appears to have been transferred to an active account while mine was transferred to a dormant account. I understand, standard procedure is: bank contacts the unintended recipient and persuades him to return your funds. I don't know if there's a penalty should he decline. Hope he's honorable enough return your money. |
reel14:. To survive as a man whose wife is the breadwinner, you have to be as indifferent and irresponsible as a broke man doubly engaged in polygamy. Proud, insulated and thoroughly lacking commitment. To tell you the truth, a man lacking the capacity to provide for his family, while being healthy, would be rubbished by even the best behaved of women. Problem is, women tend to be think they're more ambitious and would see any funds deployed to rescuing an incapacitated husband (especially when they figure he won't get back to winning ways soon enough) as a waste. On the flip side, they start thinking of all the things their money would have done if the hubby was solely responsible for picking the bills. Gradually, they graduate from asking you to help, to ordering you to run errands, to taunting you and eventually dumping you "if symptoms persists after an extended period". May life never give us the shorter end of the stick. All we need to meet our needs and keep our sanity, May God supply! It's not beans being the man! |
ume1000:Exactly! If you realise that some of these women enrol their children in yahoo academy while some others go the extra mile to coordinate the requirements for the yahoo plus, then you would save your condemnation for an innocent victim. She get luck say na only scar go remind her of the poor moral upbringing she gave her son. |
kingphilip:Merit fire!! To be brutally honest, the bests of the north would not be anywhere near the tenth percentile if merit is the criteria for appointment, placement or promotion in Nigeria. Know this and know peace! The nepotistic inclination of our political leaders (majority of which are northerners) is the reason misfits as Kyari are holding vital, strategic and sensitive positions and consequently tipping us over the edge with their embarrassing cluelessness and inefficiency. I don't know why, but like Senator Ali Ndume, another of the North's best, I'm hopeful, ' we shall find light at the end of the toilet'. |
ArcFresky:smh. Girl has clearly shown how 'clever by half' she is by this thoughtless manoeuvre. 1. An indigent student 2. Borrowed from 5 loan sharks to pay school fees. What an outstanding display of extreme daftness. |
When a serving policeman shot his debtor on the knee on account of default in the payment of a N20,000 debt, people didn't understand that wicked debtors could as well plot evil towards their creditors. There you have it! ....and yes, it happens all the time. When convinced about lending, but sure you're really convinced. And when pressed by circumstances to go borrowing, be responsible and honorable to keep to your own end of the deal. May the soul of the gentleman killed find rest, Amen. |
Most unfortunate that the young man has lost the use of his leg, but in fairness, he didn't say say for how long he owed the policeman the #20,000 before he was able to repay just #5,000 nor did he say what timeframe they both agreed on for repaying the full amount. If you've ever had an unreasonable or irresponsible person borrow from you and later turn out to frustrate the hell out of you when it's mutually agreed time for repayment, then you could rationalize the employment of violent extremism in loan recovery efforts. See how much time he has lost to injury as well as how long more he may have to be dependent on his wife, particularly, because of a breach of agreement. While I am inclined to encourage him to further see redress, we should be guided to remember to always be honorable in financial dealings, more especially with our creditors so they're not frustrated to resorting to extreme measures in getting back their monies. |
d1tto:Man was appointed by the governing council in ACTING capacity. Save the Halleyah choruses. In due time, an Abdallah Ibn Dan Iska would be appointed. |
Goodyness:You see that civil war experience? The template housing it cannot be domesticated anywhere else, especially the Sahel! Only in the Southeast. Yeye dey smell. |
BigSarah:You'll believe anything if you believe the police are swift to resolving seemingly high-profile murders. Thing is, we have an almost fragile security situation with a greater probability of further slide so they're employing tact to calm tempers and possibly reduce escalations from reprisals et al. If feel for innocent s that'll be paraded as culprits all in a bid to manage the crises this country has been plunged into by the indifference of the leaders. |
AlienStar:I don't know you, but I strongly advice u not to part with your #2,000. These guys are just scammers. First, ask yourself how they'd get to fund the scholarship and you'll they've got no sponsorship from anywhere. If they successfully get 2,000 gullible people to part with #2,000 each, that's a cool #4,000,000 and that would've made a good 2021 farming season for them. Most times, we know these guys are fraudsters, but because we are 'hopeful' we still go ahead to lose our monies to them. The choice is yours. |
daddytime:How about you assume that, a greater percentage of the expenses on the wedding wasn't spent on venue, decorations, make-up, photo book, souvenirs and entertainment. This is because, in some cultures, requirements for sorting the entitlements of the bride's family (both maternal and paternal) would make an expenditure of funds in excess of a million naira look low-budget. Though Op didn't say. |
Penguin2:Like you, I feel some grief for their families especially as they are mostly breadwinners, but my very recent encounter at a police station where these poorly trained illiterates almost abandoned my friend, unjustly detained in their custody to die, I say may they be served in full measure for all the pains their corruption, complicity, wickedness and ill-training has caused hapless citizens. Now that they're being targeted in an apparent balance of terror, hope they still have up to 15 toll points on that Elele road that links IMO State. Those fools made a driver of a vehicle I was travelling in cut grass for 1hour because he said he wasn't going to pay their toll fee after almost exhausting everything he was given at the Park, in Aba, by his employers. |
Fooolishbuharri:Think I would agree with you the preference for Ukwani by folks born and bred in Orogun. My friend is a typical example. With his siblings, they relate in Ukwani, with friends and others, strictly English language! I doubt he speaks Urhobo....never caught him speak it and haven't really asked. ....and why i'm not bothered? I can't quite express myself fluently in the Urhobo language. |
Where I'm planted. Thank God for staying faithful to the Commission and its Liberation Mandate. I am a proud Winner! |
OfoIgbo:flesh and blood hath not revealed this to you sire. |
