honeric01: I hope u are not using their last match with Arsenal to judge them? they are far better than that, they used non-starters for that game, so don't write them off. All the same, i know we are likely going to beat them but anything can happen. Not at all, why will I judge them based on their performance with Arsenal at the emirate? I trust my team (Barca) with the type of quality players we parade and I know we will not let go since La liga is slippry away from us gradually. This is the resean why AC millan can't qualify, they can't beat us at home never and we will have away goals even if we don't beat them in the home. The chances of qualifying is Barca 65% and 45% AC millan. Barca 4 life!!! Gbammm over and out |
To me, it make no sense at all, I will continue to say, it will only favour banks and it's never a policy to checkmate money laundry and it will never be. Useless policy Gbammm |
ChuckBoi93: Hi everyone. I'm just curious to know. How does one a visit visa to South Africa and later change to student visa on arrival. I've got plans to take up a course at UNISA. People please help, I wanna be enlightened. Collinfbi, Justwise and co I expect to hear from you.I don't expect you to title this thread with "Life in South Africa" because there is a thread already with the same title, pls try and change it. On the other hand, Yes! it 100% possible to change from a tourist visa to student permit in South Africa, it's even possible to apply for extension of your tourist visa on a reasonable ground. Meanwhile, I am sorry to tell you that application for studies has closed since feb and registration of courses just closed yesterday 19/03/12. You have to wait again for the next application entry which will be around November or better still you can search for other schools that are still accepting application. Gbammm over and out |
@MaclatunjiYou are very wrong, when an uncountable noun is used in the subject form of a sentence, the form at which it's being used will definitely determines the verb that will precede such. Therefore "have" is the correct form of verb to precede "All our equipment" On this note, the perfect form of the sentence should have been; "All our equipment have a six (6) month manufacturers' warranty." instead of "All our equipment have a six (6) month Gbammm over and out |
Shame you have not got any sense or you would have realised I wasn't talking about the OP. Have you read all the posts? If so you would have noticed that there are already some 'skilled' people that have joined the thread - where are 'their' links? Only 'WE B.A.N.G - Our boy Magnum' posted something and I actually do know who he is in 'real' life, here in London and he is a damn good filmmaker. So why did I ask that question? Unfortunately you didn't think that far ahead. Simple reason... so we can beging to find out who does what and begin to get organised. But no, you come in guns blazing. I'm completely dissappointed in you.Obviously i wasn't expecting anything better than this from your stinking mouth because nothing good can ever come out of the most dense and dim-witted arrogant animal like you rather than pride and overconfident. For your information, i am not a novice and i know what i am capable of, I was just a bit drifted by an offer in the maritime industry so bury your pride to teach people what they already know. However, if i ever plan to acquire more skills definitely not from a worthless fool like you. Trading words with you is just a waste of time, i have better things to be with my precious time. Just take note that not everybody you see here are of your age grade, some are old enough to be your father so learn to respect comments. Gbammm over and out |
luka1981: so what feature are you people talking about that is added to NL. no good search engine, no clear specification, nothing. very soon NL will start loosing everything, unless we have a change and go back to the old NL.Maybe! Gbammm over and out |
Lord_Reed: All our equipment have a six (6) month manufacturer's warranty. The above sentence is very correct but only but it has just a mistake which all of you did not take note of. Equipment is an uncountable noun so the plural form remains the same. The only mistake with the sentence is the word manufacturer's with the apostrophe before "s" It is obvious that all the equipment can't be from the same manufaturer so the plural form of equipment must apply to manufaturer as well which means it should be manufacturers' with apostrophe after "S". The formular used is simply referred to (V1=V2 or N1=V1) verb1=Verb2 or the word or words in the subject position (either nouns, verbs, collective pronous) determine/s the form of verb usage. Pls correct me if am wrong. Gbammmm |
I call my mother "mama" mama na tiwa 'ntiwa, mummy na foreign Gbammm |
VillageBoi: Hardly anyone is posting links to their work so I'm guessing all totally unskilled..! Shame, as it could have become interesting!!Stop your mouth watering, I hate show off and insult, read the OP statement very well, he stated that he's a novice and need more training, you can as well see that too from my post. If you know you can co-ordinate the group, why don't you start the fire instead of making mouth and posting links. I will love you to spear head the group if you can help to bring bring out talent from the mud, many are interested and willing to work while other interested members on training like the OP in one place or the other will join later. Thanks Gbammm over and out |
justwise: I will tape it and make life miserable for both of them, after collecting serious cash from both of them i will still distribute it online.Chairman, it's easier said than done, I pray it won't happen to you sha, if she happens to be your wife whom you loved so much, the mother of your children(God forbid) you won't be able to do that. As for me, I will forgive them but that is the end of life for both of us.I can only do that if she is a girlfriend and not my wife. Gbammm over and out |
doofanc: you still don't get it. You can still do your day to day transactions provided it's below the daily limit for deposits and withdrawal.. Like i asked a previous poster, how often do you buy DAILY foodstuff worth 150grand?Look my friend, it will not affect ordinary man because a common Nigerian live below N1000 a day and almost 70% earn less than 150k per month but it will affect businesses and increase internet fraud. If you want to buy a car worth of 1million for instance, how many days will you withdraw 150k to keep in your house to complete 1million because right now Nigerians fruadsters have gone gaga in terms of internet banking manipulation. Do you know right now that you can receive a credit alert of a particular transaction without seeing any money in your aacount? They have done this to scam many auto dealers after they must have escaped with the car and that is why many auto dealers prefer cash. Either we like it or not, it will have some negative impact on businesses. Gbammm over and out |
Assuming things are well planned, it will have been a great policy to practice in Nigeria and it will help a lot but these things are not properly planned and it will affect many pple in terms of business transaction. Our banking sector is not adequately programmed to facilitate bank to bank electronic transaction and at the same time it will further improve rate of fraud on the internet to hack pple pins. Right now a copy of GTB online transaction website have been created by hackers. They will send mail to your box to update your account by inputting your account numbers and passwords or pins and it will be saved on their saver which make it easier for them to gain access to your money at any time. With the cashless economy now, I am very sure that many bank websites will be created to scam a lot of pple and ineffective bank to bank electronic tranfer will affect free flowing of business. I have known Nigeria leaders to be fools, they create more problems in their bid to find solution to Nigeria problems. On the other hand, the policy is meant to favour banks and not the pple. It won't affect rich and political thieves because they are ready to give 30% to the bank as charges and take 70% into their purse. Sanusi claimed it will help to monitor electronic tranfer, yes it will help but political thieves will never tranfer money, they are willing to give half to the bank and take the other half. It will have negative impact on individual business and affect Nigerians in general. Gbammm over and out |
LeoMax: How do you deal with a jealous fiancee who calls you every time you are with friends and business associates questioning where you are and accusing you of being with girls ?First of all, try and check yourself maybe you have hurt her once or probably it was due to her past experience with someone else. Sit her down and talk senses into her skull, let her realise you haven't done such before and you aint gonna do that no matter what. Let her realise how much you love her and reasons why you'll never cheat on her. If you really love her then let effective and regular communication be the first priority in your relationship. Let pple around you know her possible some of your friends and boss in the your office. I must tell you, 80% of women in general are like that. I was once in your shoe but I tried everything possible to gain her trust and today I am happy and free. Call her regularly and if possible always talk to her on BB even when you at work, always let her know your whereabout. If you can do this regularly for just 2months, you will gain her trust and she will relax and won't bother you. Take it or leave it, that is women for you, Gbammm over and out |
honeric01: I hate this pairing.. sucks.. why Barca Milan? why?You don't need to fear anything, even if we are going to play 24players(Two teams) at a time, our victory is sure. AC milan will chop am again and chelsea too will chop am no matter what. I am not surprise seeing the draw, I knew right from time that platini is planning Real Vs Barca final to make more money. This time, we are going to prove to the world that we can do it again and again and again God helping us, Barca 4life!!! Gbammm over and out |
The STCW 95 certificates are vital, but to make headway smoothly,it'd be best if you acquire a HND/Bsc in Nautical Science,or Marine engineering.etc. With your current papers you'd only fit in as an inexperienced rating on most ships(which is quite rare considering the fact that most shippers recruit highly experienced ratings to make up for their lack of "paper" qualifications) thus if you can afford it,it'd be best to further your maritime studies first. The RMU and Egypt's Maritime tech academy are still some of the most reputable in the African region BTW. Good luck. 'hoy! It's advisable to get standard certification but it's not always about certificates when it comes to maritime work, it's all about experience. Let the poster get a job if possible before considering going of other certificates. Even if he possesses all the maritime certifications in the world without adequate work experience, he's nobody. Try and look for panafric limited at 34 creek road or Union Maritime in apapa and submit your CV with them, the operate as vessel owners. I hope this helps 4 now Gbammmm over and out |
I don't like the arrangement of having topic and posters' name on a straight line i don't like the colour arrangement Seun has a lot to do to make NLDers happy Gbammmm over and out |
@Seun, i understand your plight for changes and newness but the new look is not at its best, you might not like the way people are complaining but it's for the benefit of all of us, you are the real owner of the site by foundation but ironically members are the real owners for without then the site is nothing, so i think you should let members happiness be your first priority and not what you stand to gain with the new look. Believe me or leave it, the new look is odd, it won't add any value to the site but rather chase members away and that will make the site loose its worth and value. I believe you can still do better, why don't you retain the old look and incorporate new features? I appeal to you to listen and not to murder the voice the numerous members for without them, NAIRALAND is nothing and SEUN OSEWA is like an ordinary man without fame. Best of luck in your decisions brother. Gbammmm over and out |
UK Border Control: South African deported. A South African woman gets refused entry and deported after being spotted trying to gain illegal entry to the UK by eagle eyed Border Control Agency officer Lee Watch the Video live https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMERq0qZr6A I hate holier than thou principle of life, though Nigerians have their own short comings but South Africans should not be the one to disgrace us Gbammm over and out |

I Pity Nigeria For this Kind matter ooDon't say that again, my only fear is for the corrupt leaders in Nigeria to have a change of heart and re-orientation then you will know who and who will loose out at the end of the day. Nigeria is a Goldmine island for business with 160 million population compare to South Africa with just 50.6 million population. Nigeria only have a few companies operating in SA such as Union Bank, First Bank, Philips consulting, News Media, Financial standard and ThisDay newspapers with other small scale Nigerian firms whereas South African Companies over 20 are dominating Nigeria and suppressing the indigenous Nigerian companies with the help of their useless Godfathers (Nigerians) who back them up because of the millions of bribes offer to them which include MTN DSTV Eskom Nigeria South African Airways Stanbic Merchant Bank Nig Ltd Multichoice Nigeria/M-Net and Umgeni water Defresh Products Nigeria Ltd South Africa-Nigeria communication and system Ltd Grinaker -LTA contruction Ltd Protea hotels Critical rescue international Global Outdoor Semces Oracle airtime and many others Do you think we won't have replacement for all these companies who offer nothing but to milk Nigerians. MTN in particular is the most expensive TELECOM coy in Nigeria as described by subscribers. Many of them offer bribe to many useless Godfathers to suppress indigenous companies so how do we grow? I don't care if South Africa deport all Nigerians in SA at least it will give them rest of mind but if we can also send packing all these South African Companies and allow our indigenous companies to grow then Nigeria will be a better place and more jobs will be created. Nigerians here commenting should just shut their mouths, south africans are not the one fleeing the shores of their land in the name of seeking "greener pastures".They all stay in there to contribute to the development of their country.Oh well south africans that visit nigeria are public officers, investors or any well-to-do individual who don't roam our streets or harrass nigerians, they dont even come to study in our so-called universities and/or colleges(tell me when the last time was that a south african committed some atrocity out there in Nigeria).Nigeria(courtesy of its leaders)has made itself a nuisance to nations all over the world, and even other nations in africa cant but laugh at nigeria when it boasts to be the giant of Africa,a giant that cant even squash a roach.South africans know about our poor standard of living, the degree of corruption, unemployment, bad roads and so on so when they see us at their ports they the scarvengers are here again, and to add insult to injury they wont stay in abidance to the laws of SA but form evil alliances and perpetrations.South Africa on its own is a country lurking in the shadows cos their real identity, traditions and customs of the land have been taken away long ago, black south africans are those I really feel sorry for, they are merely onlookers even on their own land, the whites control virtually everything(Money IS Power) but that is topic for another day.I remember clearly how well Nigeria supported SA to see that the apartheid era was over.I remember even then in Nigeria schools were declared schutdown abruptly on the announce of the release of Nelson Mandela from prison.I still listen to that "Free Mandela" song by our popular reggae artiste Majek Fashek. But we cant because of all these come here with our corruption-soiled hands to corrupt another man's land.So please lets tackle our problems from home first and redeem the image of Nigeria resultantly abroad. The issue at hand is undiplomatic deportation. Nigeria is/nigerians are to blame first of all. This is just the beginning,an unproductive-nigeria will continue to face humiliation and deportation its nationales/citizens all over the world. Both countries should just reach a reasonable conculsion and stop this humiliation of one another. If the worst case scenario happens both countries will pay for it,especially Nigeria. To be frank and sincere on this issue, the deportation of the 125 Nigerians because of Yellow Card is undiplomatic, though I don't dispute the fact that many Nigerians in SA are really not doing well due to their involvement in different atrocities across the country but proper measures should have been taken by the South African Government by tighten the visas procedures rather than their initial childish behaviour by deporting a whole 125 Nigerians becos of Yellow Cards whereas the South African Embassy in Nigeria issued same Visas to Nigerians with same Yellow Cards as their requirement and (WHO) on the other hand had cleared Nigeria long time ago from the yellow fever disease. I know for sure God is involved on the issue to set so many things right in Nigeria. Bliv me or leave it South Africans will loose greatly and different indigenous companies will rise and take over power from the many dominating South African Companies if they continue this way.
