Anyone in the house who can write a comprehensive marketing strategy for cosmetic. Mail me FAST on: kenn_george@yahoo.co.uk
We can do business!
I don't see writing as the most important thing here considering the bold portion of your post. I think you should be more concerned about pple who are in the marketing field or business developers as regards the ideas to be put in place and not just ordinary writings.

Acrostic

An acrostic (Greek: ákros "top"; stíchos "verse"wink is a poem or other form of writing in which the first letter, syllable or word of each line, paragraph or other recurring feature in the text spells out a word or a message. As a form of constrained writing, an acrostic can be used as a mnemonic device to aid memory retrieval.

There is a classic example of acrostic poem in English written by Edgar Allan Poe is entitled simply "An Acrostic":

Elizabeth it is in vain you say
"Love not" — thou sayest it in so sweet a way:
In vain those words from thee or L.E.L.
Zantippe's talents had enforced so well:
Ah! if that language from thy heart arise,
Breath it less gently forth — and veil thine eyes.
Endymion, recollect, when Luna tried
To cure his love — was cured of all beside —
His follie — pride — and passion — for he died.

Absurd

In contemporary literature and criticism, a term applied to the sense that human beings, cut off from their roots, live in meaningless isolation in an alien universe. Although the literature of the absurd employs many of the devices of EXPRESSIONISM and SURREALISM, its philosophical base is a form of EXISTENTIALISM, which views human beings as moving from the nothingness from which they came to the nothingness in which they will end through an existence marked by anguish and absurdity.

Abecedarian, Abecedarius, Abecedary

This is an acrostic arrangement of words in which the initial letters of successive lines (or other units) form an alphabet. In this type of writing, each word in a line begins with the same letter, although this difficult task is seldom attempted. Such a poem by Alaric Alexander Watts, published in 1817, begins,
"An Austrian army, awfully arrayed,
Boldly by battery besieged Belgrade"

"Yield, yield, ye youths! ye yeomen, yield your yell!
Zeus', Zarpater's, Zoroaster's zeal,
Attracting all, arms against acts appeal!"

Many Psalms (e.g., 9, 10, 34, 37, 111, 112, 119, and 145) adhere to some principle of following successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

Abbey Theatre

Associated with the Irish Literary Revival, the Abbey Theatre was an outgrowth of an earlier group, the Irish Literary Theatre, founded by W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory in 1899, which later became the Irish National Theatre Society and still later moved to the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. It endured, producing plays with a markedly national emphasis, until the theatre burned in 1951. W.B. Yeats was director of the Abbey Theatre until his death in 1939. Among the major playwrights of the company were Yeats, Lady Gregory, J.M. Synge, Sean O'Casey, James Stephens, and Lord Dunsany.

I am hopeful this thread will help many as writers and students of literature in writing as a profession or for academic purpose. It's an introduction to literature as a course of study and various literary terms used in the world of literature. Note; everything you see here is copy right protected. Be warned, there is punishment for plagiarism.

What is literature?
Literature can simply be referred to as creative writing of recognized artistic value. It means Learning; acquaintance with letters or books. The word literature is from the Latin word “littera” meaning letter and is the art of written works. Literally, the word literature is translated to means "acquaintance with letters." Literature, in its widest sense, embraces all compositions in writings.

Brief History of Literature
The first form of world known literature writing has it origin traceable to the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Babylonian epic poem which arises from stories in Sumerian. This writing was probably composed around 1900 BC but it was recorded around 2100 B.C. The epic deals with themes of heroism, friendship, loss, and the quest for eternal life.

Different historical periods have emphasized various characteristics of literature. Early works often had an explicit or hidden religious or didactic purpose which is the source from which morality or prescriptive literature emanate. The exotic nature of romance flourished from the Middle Ages onwards, while the Age of Reason manufactured nationalistic epics and philosophical tracts. Romanticism emphasized the popular folk literature and emotive contribution, but gave way in the 19th-century West to a period of realism and naturalism, an investigation into what is real. The 20th century brought demands for symbolism or psychological insight in the delineation and development of character.

Dear friend, its quite unfortunate i read your post lately about defamation of islam. if u are a student of history or an avid reader of contemporary history you will definitely shut up. try to read other scriptures. before christianity there was judaism, buddhism, shintoism, taoism etc. Buddha was a preacher, he was baptised with fire and he received holy spirit. that was the first time "BAPTISM" came into religion. so Jesus must have copied him. try and read mankind search for God", a highly religion sensitive book. have u read read about the crusader in the middle ages? who are those persecuting the christians? are they the muslim extremist? did u read about the great fire of 1666 in england? who sets it on fire? if it were modern day Hamas or Alqaeda or one islamic extremist group whould have been blamed. open your eyes, "IT'S ALL POLITICAL MOTIVATED". NEO-COLONIALISM, NEO-COLONIALISM, NEO-COLONIALISM. TELL ME, WHO CAUSE THE 1ST & 2ND WORLD WAR? my friend if u are a black man, think twice but if u are not shut up. I AM AN AFRICAN MAN. I HAVE BOTH MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WE ALL RELATE. THANK YOU.
Aside: READ BAGHAVAD GITA. Maybe by then u will reason and understand that the war and the world existed before your existence.
Pls can you justify the bolded portions with references

@roland, This is nice

To every1 out there searching for love, do not burden your mind with worry and sorrow.

Listen to the cries of the warning sparrow    A
A troubled mind is like a wheel-barrow      A
All it carries is nothing but sorrow
It weighs you down when you seek to travel solo    A
Like quick-sand, the more you panic the more it swallows    A

A troubled mind has no marrow       A
All the worries have made it hollow      A
Painful mysteries line up its tomorrow      A
Sharp pains from its most poisoned arrow     A
Like the fear of a woman who walks the gallows     A

A troubled mind is like a dragon’s kiss    B
So much fire waiting to release        B
With one breath it can all go amiss      B
Not a chance to ever find peace        B
Tread softly or damage the Golden Fleece      B

For when life brings you sorrow     A
The waters ahead look dirty and shallow      A
And the road looks crooked and narrow      A
Alas there’s no need to wallow       A
For Dawn approaches with a charming fellow    A
To bring good news of good times that follow      A
To rescue you like Moses from a Pharaoh      A

I pray to God that you all may never tire      C
Like the piercing notes of his church’s choir      C
he will bless and take you higher      C
Faith and trust is all He requires       C
Even if it goes down to the wire       C
Cool, the end rhyme for each stanza is cool and lovely. keep it up!

LiteratureAdieu Old Soldier - Collinsfbi by collinsfbi(op): 11:51am On Dec 05, 2011
This piece was written in Memory of my Father who died on 21st Nov 2008, the same day I graduated from the University, I got home only to find out he has been called to glory.  http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150415809688120

Only if I could turn the hand of time

I’d love to see you and breathe once

Not to shed tears for the unknown future

But to say goodbye for the known feature

You laboured and traversed in penury

To raise potential among errant of pedigree

Now tears prickle down my face

B’cos you never wait to see us growing

What a memorable day of 21st Nov. 2008?

The day I bid farewell to that citadel of learning

When home coming became irrefutable

As I saunter with smile to see my hood

Home calling became unquestionable

To the man whom my success lies

A man who treasure family like diamond

It was so hard to believe “old soldier” is gone

How I wish you could look back and see my tears

Not for the responsibilities ahead of life

But for the years spent missing and thinking of you

For your investment is ripe and harvest is now

Only to realize you are nowhere to be found

I wish you were here, I wish you were alive!

But God understands why it has to be you

Am sure he know why you have to go so soon

Chief Timothy Ifedayo Iwayemi

It’s 3yrs today since you parted this world

Your death was like a burning fire without flame

But your impacted inspiration is more of glorious fame

Letting go is tough and hard, but fate controls life

I never knew I could live to see you no more until now

I will always cherish you as a loving and brave father

B’cos no words can describe the enormity of your qualities

Adieu Old soldier!

Rest in the bosom of the Lord Almighty

Till we’ll meet to part no more

We love you but God love you more

Goodbye father.
