Look whatever you like you can say and whatever you like you can call me i don't care. NL is a public forum so I don't expect everybody to behave the same way because there will always be pple like you. For your information, there are things I don't like doing here which include; fighting pple with words, calling pple names without proper and appropriate justification, arguing with some unreasonable and disgruntled fellows, giving unnecessary or wrong comments, discouraging passionate Nigerian with dreams and finally i don't like having issue with pple without reconciliation.

I have been following this thread from the day one but most of the time i don't feel like commenting because i don't see its necessity. For your information, I can name pple here on NL including my very self who applied to University of Iceland last year for respect programmes, most of those who i know that applied for undergraduate degree were all denied with one unreasonable reason or the other. Up till this very moment my online masters application status still reads "In Process" and application results has been sent out to pple since MAY. I called and mailed but all i got from UI was that I should contact my department to process my application in time and up till today, all to no avail.  In short when i said i can give you info about Iceland in a tinkle of an eye, am sure i know what am saying.

@all who want to apply for 2012 session, I am not try to discourage you pple but i think Iceland institutions don't really accept Nigerians so much. The denial giving to Nigeria wasn’t based on the fact that they don't meet their requirements but they just look out for a way to deny Nigerians from the viewing of things. At the same time don't be discouraged because yours maybe a diff story of success. Go ahead and apply, send all their required docs, pray and am sure you will testify to the glory of God. This is a question I'd love to hear a response to.

Personally, I don't know the poster and i don't wanna know him but i will still say whatever i know how to do the best and that is to encourage pple with passion and criticize some with bad intentions. From my personal opinion, d poster might have visited all the countries in the world and know millions of pple but that does not make him or her get assistance of this nature easily. We are talking about money here and am sure some of you running mouth here cannot play with anything called money with your family members let alone assistance pple you hardly know or know through other pple. i know most of you guys with legitimate papers and good job abroad who can raise more than that money but some of you will never help your family members let alone friends. Yes! most of them "agents" do have their sources of getting dis docs but don't be disappointed that 90% of the so called "agents" here on NL will not only feed on your money but will also get you frustrated by getting fake statement of account for you claiming to be real and this will definitely jeopardize your chance of getting your dreamed study permit. Just take precaution in dealing with this issue, I bliv God can do it and He will surely send you a philanthropist only if you bliv He can do it.

Hmmmmmmmmm, the amount involved here is wowwwwww! at this same time it's nothing to some influential Nigerians but to be frank and sincere with you, you can hardly get such favour except it's from a close family member. The truth may seems bitter sometimes but if you base your hope on what one NL member will do to help you on this issue, wa-lai-ta-lai, you may end being duped. You can only get a favour like this if assuming you working and you have years of glorified integrity with your boss at your place of work and if you approach then, they might help you on personal basis or using company document for you as sponsor. The last i checked (last year), their processing was handled by UK embassy only if i'm getting it wrong. Also, mailing is linked from Nigeria (NIPOST) to Iceland via UK (royal mail). Royal mail send it to icelandic post but not direct. Quote me wrong Mr. Mod

In the first place, you failed to get the Iceland visa you claimed to apply for throuhg Iceland Embassy in UK because you lack adequate info. She wasn't my girlfriend, i only quoted Wip4 comment on how he helped her girlfriend who graduated with 3.40 to gain admission to MUN. So try if you can get Wip4 contact then, he will be the best to expalin on those docs and how he can help some pple with likely CGPA. Please help me out. I intend applying to Seneca College (Graduate Certificate in Project Management-Environmental) and Conestoga College (Graduate Certificate in Environmental Engineering Applications). The thing is, I don't know how good these colleges are and my chances of employment after graduation.

For the records, I have applied to many Canadian universities for masters but none accepted my 2.2 degree (GPA of 3.48). Hence my resolve to opt for a graduate certificate course. The graduate certificate courses above  seem to be more of a perfect fit for me compared to other graduate programs.

My first degree was in Chemical Engineering and I have about 2 yrs work experience in the construction (environmental) sector. I intend to start studies in Canada by next Sept (2012).

I need those based in Canada or with a good idea of the educational system there to tell me how these colleges rank, considering I will be spending about $10,000 on tuition.

Have you tried MUN, with your CGPA maybe you can be lucky though I applied too with 3.34 and I was denied but urs is a little bit higher than mine, so why don't you give it a trial and make sure you package your application very well. there is high posiblity of you getting University with that your CGPA of 3.40 in canada. dont loose hope and be strong anf package your application well with supporting documents, you can have another sheet for your work experience, add your NYSC, and strong motivational letter to convince them. just last year i personally took my girlfriend application to this skool with CGPA of 3. 33 and she is now in this skool, i met with the grad school director and she did some calculations on the CGPA and told me that it falls to C grade in their own scheme and wit her motivation, that she will be accepted as soon as her departmental members and faculty members go tru her transcripts. she is there now studying. If you are looking forward to apply to any school in SA, then the course you wanna apply for will determine the school you will apply to. At the same time, you have to put things like tuition cost, cost of living, accomodation into consideration b4 you apply. What level of programme are you applying for; undergraduate_p or masters_p?

I don't think it is possible unless someone is deceiving you or advising you to claim asylum. You can only extend your stay by applying to a school and apply for your study permit which is a little bit difficult, because you will need to pay repatriation fee, provide Health Insurance, school receipt, bank statement, SA guarantors and many more docs and it's going to cost you much.

2. I may return shortly after am back in Naija! Can I get formal jobs with my BSc certificate (2.1) in accounting from a Naija school?

I can't discourage you but God can do it if you can append some professional certificates. I mean SA qualification because they don't have much recognition for Nigerian certificates. Mind you, it’s hard to get work in SA but there is nothing God cannot do.

South Africa universities request that our certificate be evaluated by SAQA before applying to their schools. This takes over 6months. By implication, am too late for next year's admission. Can anyone hint me of schools that do not require SAQA as a condition for entry into a masters program

This has already been answered, evaluation from SAQA is not a prerequisite for admission except some schools want you to do b4 admitting you. It can be done easily in SA if you have the original copy of your certificate and it will not take much time and if you want to do it from naija then you have to send it to somebody there to do it for you.

Collins is right, the evaluation from SAQA is not a prerequisite for admission - at least not in all schools. It is compulsory for certain schools like Wits and i think UCT but other schools like Stellenbosch and Rhodes which are also top schools do not make it compulsory.
@OP, admission is still open in a number of those schools so dont shut your doors just yet.

These guys have stable policies than NG - more so, educational.

By the way, applying for a Study Permit outside S.A, you need
to tender your SAQA.(irrespective of the institution).

Pls advise your friend to take a 'walk' to SAQA House, and do what he is to do; else,
he might have issues with the authorities someday.

If I may ask, what is wrong with UNISA being a research post-graduate school? I don't think you can read very well or understand me at all, who is talking about applying for a study permit outside SA? The person am talking about got his admission with his transcript and the photocopy of his documents and later tender all the original document on registration and he got his study permit without evaluating anything though he's working on his evaluation now but he was only asked to pay the repatriation fee and provide medical insurance in jo’burg home affairs with the other documents he got from his school such as evidence of tuition payment, admission letter and others. For your information, you don't need to advise him to take a walk to SAQA office because he knows better than you do already.

Note: It’s important to evaluate certificates in SA both for schooling and working purposes but most schools in SA still admit international students without evaluation in the first places and it's not a compulsion thing for schools to admit students whose certificates have been evaluated. Evaluation is just a guideline to compare foreign qualification to South Africa qualification and not binding on any institution or used as a yardstick for admission. So stop deceiving pple here. See my friend am not talking of "then say" am talking of reality. I applied to UNISA last year along side a colleague of mine and we were offerred admission to their research master which I later changed my mind. In my bid not to let him down, I assisted him in getting a visit visa which he travelled with and he got his study permit about 2month upon arrival and up til this moment his certificates has not been evaluated. So stop giving false info to pple here. If you need proof then I will give you his personal phone number to call him and confirm this or I will refer you to his FB account to confirm same. At d same time I will be glad if you can quote that South African Law from its source. For ur information, he's not a member here so don't wait till I will refer you to a member here.

Are u sure of what you are saying here? Who told you that anybody with foreign certificate cannot be admitted until SAQA evaluate such certificate? You better get things clear b4 you come here to give pple wrong information. SAQA only evaluate your certificates b4 one can be allow to work and not studies. If you doubt me then I will refer you somewhere else to confirm for urself. Beside, evaluation does not take a long time when you have the original documents upon application.

Where on earth is an objective research performed by observation of events of public media?
