Are you for real!? Those are those who came for the commissioning? Surely you know anything that involves a governor commissioning something always involves a lot of hangers on.

The secret message here is that there are too many things that state governments can accomplish without fed govts assistance.
True talk. But only for serious governors with half a brain. It amazes me that a state like Rivers with only major city is still the same as 20years ago asides some dualised roads by Amaechi and flyovers by Wike.

Where are top notch schools and hospitals?

LASG should stop lieing, this is just nedia blitz. They, LASG made the portal non-functional, so that travellers have no options than to come to MMIA and pay cash. Nowhere in the world do people pay cash at the aurport for PCR test, except Nigeria. No where else on Earth.
FAAN should investigate the scam. When my wife travelled I processed her payment, but could not print receipt. Fortunately, I made screenshot. When she got to MMIA, they refused to accept phone screenshot. Unkmown to them she also had the printed screenshot. They initially started their shenanigan. So, she called me and I told the officer that if she collects any money I will go public. The next I learnt was that they sent her to VI instead of Ikeja we selected for the test
Nigeria is eternally corrupt. The only country you land and have to pay for trolley. They charge people coming into Bigeria money to use trolley, whereas your ticket already includes airport fee. Thieves!
Its not true that Nigeria is the only country where you pay for trolley. While free in many airports, its not free in all. I pay for trolly in most airports in US. And I recall paying in Manchester airport as well.

Abeg go siddon. There is NOTHING WRONG with the toilets in the Uyo stadium.

You went there during a match and you expected what? Clean toilets?

There is no stadium on Earth whose toilets are nice and clean during a game, because tens of thousands of people, many drunk and loutish, are all over the place.
That is absolutely not true. By the same logic, toilets at airports and major train stations abroad should be filthy too because many people pass through there very often and that is not the case. I have watched a match at West ham stadium and Etihad before and used the toilet at half time and it was fine.
PoliticsRe: Dangote To Hand Over Refurbished National Stadium, Abuja In November by COMPAQ(m): 3:28pm On Oct 25, 2021
Reflect7:
Stop stereotyping.

It all depends on the arrangements made for the maintenance. Most projects today are done via PPP (Public-Private Partnership), and maintenance clauses are written into the contracts, to protect shareholders' investment, and it works. Numerous examples abound from airports to railway facilities.

Maintenance problems arose in the PAST when projects were 100% govt funded, (eg National Theatre, National Stadium Surulere, MMA etc) and there was no real incentive to maintain projects by using govt funds.

Today, as a result of private sector involvement in projects, the story is different.
Its not stereotyping but the honest truth. How many times has the stadium fallen into disrepair and fixed. This will be like the fourth time. I can guarantee you by 2025, we will be back to the same situation again if left in government hands.
Seven wonders of engineering, massive open space without pillars, you can see how tiny those trucks look inside the hall
This is relatively poor quality construction. It's not being constructed to the quality that a building this big ought to be. The ceiling looks like something that will sag very soon. And I'm sure it will use standing split AC instead on proper central ac with conduit in the ceiling. Which will eventually go bad and be leaking water all over the Place.

I notice the interior of the terminal building is using standing split air conditioners. In this day and age, why not install conduits in the ceiling to channel the AC!! Air conditioning is very basic and I wonder why its such a big deal to do it right. Normal houses in US have central AC with conduit, how much more a building of this size.
InvestmentRe: MTN Nigeria Offer ₦90 Billion Bond For Sale by COMPAQ(m): 4:40pm On Oct 11, 2021
daewoorazer:
The valid question remains:

Is this a good investment with the dwindling value of naira?

Even if the bond appreciates by 1000% in ten years, what if 1 dollar is 1000 naira by 2031?

Especially with the crop of re.tar.ded leaders Nigerians keep voting into power.
A 10year Bond even at 12% in Naira is very risky. In that 10 years, Naira could have devalued by up to 80%.

However, if its a short term investment of 2-3 years, one can risk it in Naira cos the interest rates in NGN (12-15%), is much better than USD (1-4%)

Was not surprised Efe lost. His style is too dependent on the power of his right hand. He's too stiff a d had little to no footwork.

I knew the moment he met a good technical boxer he'd lose.

But with a lot more training and practice, he can still improve significantly. Same thing with Efe Apochi.

It still beats my imagination how these so-called unknown gunmen operate and with all the pictures and videos of them operating in the open yet they can't be traced?

There is obviously a conspiracy going on by those that are mandated to protect the people. What is currently happening in Anambra is sponsored terrorism. With the current sentiments against unknown gunmen, if truly they're indigenous, they won't have any hidden place now. However, if they're sponsored they would always return to those that sent them and would remain elusive.
Which video have you seen? Even this article says there was video, yet I see no video here o it is Nairaland.

One of the best roads in the country is the Lekki Epe Highway. And it is state road, not federal.
Lekki Epe is still as good as it it today because of the toll collected. At least they typically do not allow small potholes to degenerate before fixing them. If not for the toll, Lekki Epe would have fallen apart by now considering the high volume of traffic on that road.

It's because they toll it, that's why LASG at least tries to respond to it very quickly. that is the responsibility that tolling brings.

I would rather drive on a smooth and perfectly managed Lagos- Benin, or Ibadan Ilorin expressway and pay toll, than not pay toll and drive on a death trap.

PoliticsRe: Details Of The Lagos Regional Road Project (Video, Pictures) by COMPAQ(m): 11:23am On Sep 29, 2021
And besides, once this road is completed, LASG should immediately begin to plan for a Coastal road as well so that say by 2025, there will be at least 3 parallel roads of similar capacity to take people from Ajah axis to VI, Marina.

And in fact, beyond roads, a train system would be very welcome to that axis.

https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1443103988048699395.html
I really hope that the design of this road has been well thought through? Unfortunately, knowing Nigeria, it will not have. A factor that causes so much issue for the existing Lekki Epe expressway is the absence of flyovers, with proper exit and entry lane. While the effort to re-design the road from roundabout to junctions made some sense, it was not the most optimal because the traffic flow of that axis is too heavy even for junctions with traffic lights.

At the minimum, there should have been a flyover at 2nd (Marwa) round about, 4th Roundabout at Ikate, Igbo Efon, VGC and then the Ajah one. This would have allowed for much freer flow of traffic.

8.75 kilometer Road and it is regional? Less than 10 km and yet billions will be expended. Go to Jakande and Igbo-Efon see the worsening state of roads. God will help you. One day posterity we judge us all!
Why won't billions be expended? I hope you know N1bln is only $2mln!! N10bln is only $20mln. Besides the road will be more expensive than normal because of the swampy and non solid nature of soil in that axis (a LOT of sand filling and compaction will be required - its not the same as building a road in Oyo state on firm, dry ground). Also because the fact that the construction is in a built up area, logistics will be difficult and safety and environmental measures have to be put in place much more than a road construction in the middle of nowhere.

I am not saying it might not be overinflated, or that there will not be corruption, but just trying to balance it for you.
