So you are going to tax any transactions that occurs on a bank account? cheesy... All Buahrist truly have low IQ like the bUhari
That is already being done by way of N50 stamp duty for any credit to account over N10k! You no dey see am for your own account?

Besides, linking TIN to account doesn't mean they will charge tax per transaction. It's just a way to link people cash flows to their tax records. How can N50mln pass through an account yet the person has no tax record with govt because he's an Idumota trader. That has got to stop.

Left to me people with no tax record should not be able to fly out of Nigeria. Tax records should be linked to passport sef. You don't pay tax, but you can afford N750k flight to US!? Or N300k flight to Dubai! How can?

The mall is sitting on 11, 000 square meters along Waff Road and it is designed to accommodate 48 line shops.

Shes scared for her life. If she doesn't do that she might get tracked down with her account.

This is why it's important to bring up a child in the way of the Lord. When he grows up, no matter the peer pressure, he'll never give in or join bad gangs.

Now, Does this woman look like someone who has the time to give a child moral upbringing? This slay mama?
From her looks you can easily tell she left the training of her child/children to maids and house helps in his formative years.

Lets forget this peer pressure thing. It only over powers spoilt empty heads that didn't have a proper informal training.
You jumping to too many conclusions on the basis of looks alone. Many parents do try their best, but but the kids just get too swayed by peer pressure.

Peer pressure is the most intense form of pressure in life. Just one bad mistake to drink beer with friends in sec school, or rape a girl or use weed or commit an 'innocent' crime can change a teenagers life for ever.

It is not about training. Nigerian Police as at today has tons of modern kits and equipment for protest or hostile crowd control. And they sure have the knowledge.

Most Nigerians believe that Nigerians by nature are stubborn and only firm use of red eye and raw force will get them moving. It is about mentality. Give an average Nigerian uniform and small authority and watch his enforcement conduct. Even the degrading way common corporate security personnel treat crowd of job seekers especially when recruitment is on will tell you everything.
Which tons of equipment? Where are they?

Because I don't believe he did not know who his passengers were, I'd say he apparently died because he was stupid.

He was helping thieves escape and had the boldness to stop the journey to ask why their getaway vehicle was being rammed by their pursuers.

Even if he didn't know who they were, I still believe he died because he was stupid.
A wiser person would have sensed the urge to flee on his passengers or noticed the uproar around them.
Easy for you to say! Like everyday you go out you know who is a thief, armed robber or kidnapper. Is it written on foreheads? Do you know how many Uber or Taxi you have entered that the driver considered using you for ritual, but something just said No!? You think it's because you could identify the right driver!?

Amazing how in Nigeria we have turned keeping grass green into a national project that is done every few years.

All grass needs is constant watering (easily done with a sprinkler system)
Fertiliser from time to time
Cutting from time to time
Keeping people off the grass except when necessary (matches and training)

While I agree that out hot climate makes grass management less easy than abroad, but still many private parks, gardens, even sidewalks are green constantly, how much more a national stadium.

Funny enough, the national stadium probably has a groundsman on Ministry of Sports payroll, yet he/she will sit down, fold his hands and do nothing.

If the National Stadium is concessioned it will be constantly green

PoliticsRe: Osinbajo Hails Coca Cola's Planned $1bn Investment In Nigeria by COMPAQ(m): 3:44pm On Nov 23, 2021
presidency:
*Adds: It’s a testament to the possibilities in the Nigerian economy

Coca Cola’s plan to invest $1 billion in Nigeria in the next five years testifies to the possibilities in the economy despite challenges, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this Monday evening at the 70th anniversary gala of the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC).

According to the Vice President, “your ongoing investment in the country, which I am told will be in the order of $1billion in the next five years, testifies to your faith in the possibilities of Nigeria.”

“And you can rely on the partnership of the Nigerian government, (and i dare say the Nigerian people too) as you make these great strides,” Prof. Osinbajo assured.

While narrating his personal and family stories about drinking Coke, including how he drank two bottles of Coke a day up until 2017, the Vice President reiterated that the Buhari administration’s commitment to “creating an environment that allows the private sector innovate and thrive remains active and sincere, despite the challenges.

“And we will continue to work with businesses across the broad spectrum of our dynamic economy to ensure that we do this with a clear view of the opportunities and problems of the day.”

Prof. Osinbajo further stated that in the 70 years that the company has operated in Nigeria, it has demonstrated “commitment to the Nigerian people with repeated investments, in the building of production facilities across the country, in creating thousands of jobs but also in your active support of every aspect of our national life, from health to education, from women and youth empowerment to sports. All done with conscious respect for the environment.”

Continuing, Prof. Osinbajo said “I think it is fair to say that the commitment has been met with the enthusiastic patronage of generations of Nigerians; families who have been supported by the stable careers of staff who have grown with the company through the years.”

He explained that “young people who have found successful careers in sports and entertainment inspired by your support; consumers from Lagos to Kano, Rivers to Plateau, linked by distributors in every region of the country, who have built enduring businesses getting Coca Cola into the hands of millions; a robust value chain that includes service providers and marketing agencies, creators of the iconic Coke adverts that have formed part of our individual and collective memories all these years.”

The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to distinguished staff and partners of the company across the country.

On his part, Board Chairman of NBC, Amb. Segun Apata recalled the company’s growth and contribution to the economy and noted that the company will continue in its 70 years tradition of investing in the economy as well as impacting its host communities through several initiatives, especially for the youths.

Nigerian Bottling Company also known as NBC was incorporated in 1951 but started production in 1953 at the basement facilities of the mainland Hotel, owned by Leventis Group, producing Coke licensed by the Coca Cola Company.

The gala night was also attended by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.

This investment is all well and good, but Nigeria needs more real manufacturing investment. Not investment in soft drinks, beer and cigarette that will kill our 200m people and give us health problems in the future.

We need to also see $1bln investment in solar and wind farms, white products manufacturing (ac,s, fridges, freezers, washing machines, etc) solar panels, etc

We should privatize all these things instead of this constant call to FG to come and do this or that.

If it had been in private hands, then it would be far more efficient, funds would have been invested to upgrade and the owners will engage with importers to provide incentives to get them to use it instead of Lagos. This competition will then bring about more efficiency and innovation.

Affer almost 15 years of MM2, it's still as good as it was and in some ways better, compared to that shambles of MMIA.

That is why I am happy govt is moving ahead with concession of airports. Cos if those new terminals at Lagos, Abuja, PH and Kano are left in the hands of FAAN for too long, they will deteriorate to zero within 10years.

A conducive environment for business. As a taxi driver in Nigeria do you know how many touts you will have to settle before loading passengers? Including the one that union collects. After loading, you meet some misfits in police uniform. Of course you will settle them. At the end of the day what is your take home profit? Also consider inflation in the price of foodstuffs etc.

Now, compare it to abroad. Once you are registered as a taxi driver. That is all. Although I believe there is a sort of due or levy they pay there. Consider their economy.

Coupled with the fact that Nigerians are hardworking irrespective of tribe.

Finally, if you as an individual you migrate abroad, after some years you need something to show for it.

You see, creating parks in Nigeria is good but the problem is that the masses are not earning enough to chill out and enjoy. They are always hustling, the few rich and relatively comfortable are the ones enjoying all these parks. (the homeless too undecided)

Well, I told myself if I become president, I would create very large parks where families can come and relax, take photographs and chill out not a gated place, but a large expanse of land with fountains, green area, swings, ice cream stands (like in New York) and bicycle lanes like in Denmark and Sweden.

We know how to enjoy in this country, but the average person is underpaid or unemployed.

One advice, If you are a young person here, and you need to earn online; venture into blogging, vlogging, selling nft, etc. There is money online guys (Not Yahoo please)
I'm not sure we know how to enjoy peace and tranquility in this country. Once people have money in Nigeria the only thing that seems to interest them is big car, big house, carry women and travel abroad.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Navy Signs Contract For Two New Warships by COMPAQ(m): 2:15am On Nov 04, 2021
presidency:
NIGERIAN NAVY SIGNS CONTRACT FOR TWO NEW WARSHIPS

The Nigerian Navy today signed a contract with a Turkish company, Messrs Dearsan Shipyard Limited for the purchase of 2 brand new Offshore Patrol Vessels. The 2 vessels are expected to be completed within 37 months.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo recalled that Nigerian Navy has in the last couple of months brought to bear her dominant status in the region by sustaining an aggressive presence in the nation’s maritime environment, leading to drastic reduction in acts of criminality in the domain.

This development he added has been acknowledged by the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) in its Global Piracy Report of 14 July 2021, indicating the lowest total of piracy and armed attacks against ships in 27 years.

According to the CNS, this report was corroborated by the Defence Web maritime security report of 15 October 2021 which noted further decline in reported cases of piracy and armed attacks against shipping in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG), a development he attributed to the impact of NN maritime security operations efforts.

Admiral Gambo stated that the contract signing ceremony was another milestone achievement by the Nigerian Navy in her fleet renewal effort towards realizing her 2021-2030 Strategic Plan and expressed gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari for his continued support and goodwill towards the Nigerian Navy.

The CNS also recalled that on the directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief, the Nigerian Navy hosted the Chief of the Ghana Navy to discuss collaborative efforts to combat piracy and other maritime crimes in the GoG and during the meeting, it was agreed that there was a need to establish a standing ECOWAS Multinational Task Force in the GoG.

Pertinently, to sustain the upwards trajectory of the NN’s operational engagements and actively participate in the proposed Task Force, the CNS informed that the President granted approval for the NN to procure 2 High Endurance Offshore Patrol Vessels with the capability to carry out maritime interdiction operations, surveillance and special forces operations as well as provide naval fire support to land forces. ”The OPVs will also be capable of conducting search and rescue operations, anti-piracy, anti-smuggling and anti-drug trafficking operations and disaster relief operations among others”.

Admiral Gambo further revealed that the process of selecting a shipyard capable of constructing the OPVs began in earnest and Dearsan Shipyard Limited was selected based on its track record and the conviction that the shipyard would be able to construct a platform that could be deployed as an OPV in peacetime, while having the capability and flexibility to be quickly outfitted with sensors and weapons to re-role the platform for warfare and maritime defence purposes, at a cost effective price.

According to him, today was a remarkable day as it marked the consummation of relationship between the NN and Messrs Dearsan which is hoped would lead to more fruitful engagements between Nigeria and Turkey in the future.

While responding, the Chief Executive Officer of Messrs Dearsan Shipyard, Mr Murat Gordi appreciated the Nigerian Navy and the Federal Government for the confidence placed on their company to construct the Offshore Patrol Vessels.

He further assured that the company would reciprocate by building the best in class vessel for the Nigerian Navy and ensure the contract is faithfully executed to deliver true value for money.

Mr Gordi added that this project will further strengthen ties between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Turkey through the provision of added value in technological transfer and expertise.

The event was graced by principal staff officers of the Naval Headquarters and representatives from Messrs Dearsan Shipyard Limited.
