Madam Confun.... I remember ooo... In fact, I have all their matches on DVD, and the highlights from Fifa TV and other sources on my gadgets. grin (same with the 2015 class, and many other glorious moments of our football... I even have Afcon 1980 final On my PC and Handheld... hahahahahaha... I don vex! wink ).

Musa even repeated such freekick strikes at the U-20 AFCON (AYC) in Senegal last year but was just unlucky not to score. I remember he hit one that scratched the outside of the angle between the crossbar and the left post against Ghana in the semis and he hit a bullet free kick in the final against Senegal that was supposed to end up in the net's top corner but was denied by that "winch" of a goalie between the sticks for Senegal (no wonder na "winch" goal Bulbwa take score am grin ).

Musa is just special and I know he will benefit our Senior national team in the long run.
hahaha, u really made me laff, in fact u don vex, bt really, we av had glorious moments in football.....

Ifeanyi Matthew and Ubong Ekpai won't make the final list in my books. I was kinda shocked the writer mentioned them as part of the "key 10".

Musa Mohammed was excellent in that game against Brazil's U-23 that had Gabigol, Malcolm, and Andreas Pereira leading that Brazilian attack at different points of that game. Musa was the best defender on the day.

Look, you guys should cut Musa some slack. His is a case of " Class is permanent but form is temporary". Musa got Class and top potentials as a defender especially at Right back. The lad got balls and guts to stand against even the best. He showed it in that Brazil friendly.

No doubt, Odubajo edges Musa in experience and some other qualities little wonder reports are still making rounds of NFF's attempt to get him. But right now, we have Musa and he's a Class Act.

It's true he's not featured as much for his club but when he was given the chance he showed his qualities. I hope his big breakthrough comes at club level like Chidiebere Nwakali is currently experiencing.

But no one can deny this fact: MUSA MOHAMMED IS ONE PLAYER WHO WILL ALWAYS GIVE HIS VERY BEST FOR ANY TEAM HE FEATURES IN AND MOST TIMES HE DOES HIS JOB PERFECTLY... SO PERFECTLY THAT HE REMINDS ME OF THE LEGENDARY BRAZILIAN RIGHT FULLBACK, CAFU.

Personally, whenever Musa plays I don't lose sleep (yes, he can be a bit rash and overzealous but with a little more time he will outgrow those) because I know he will always command his right back role and give any left winger he faces a big hell of a time.... and I mean a big hell!!!! grin My goodness! Musa is a leader! You see it all over him and in his plays. THE LAD'S GOT HEART FOR BIG GAMES.

All he needs is his time to shine at club level. I'm sure he's working hard. Look at Chidiebere Nwakali, he never featured for Malaga and Girona, he was never given a shot. But he's currently flying high with IK Start of Norway.

Musa and C.Nwakali are two very hardworking players. To me, they were probably two of our five most hardworking players at UAE 2013.... THE OTHERS BEING Akinjide Idowu, Aliyu Abubakar and Taiwo Awoniyi.

So please, Spare Musa... the lad is a good gain for Nigerian football in the long run. I wish we get Odubajo too and fast. We need quality options at right back in the Super Eagles for the future after Rio 2016. There is also Godswill Elohor Ekpolor of Barca (thankfully he featured against Brazil u-23 in that friendly in Vitoria.... shows he's deeply under our watch now grin ).

Seems Kingsley Ehizibue and Tyrone Ebuehi may be lost to other nations but I sincerely hope not. But like I've always said, try, we will to get these exceptional foreign-borns but we won't get all...

In conclusion, I fault Matthew's and Ekpai's name as part of GoalNigeria's top 10 must-go-to Rio. But Musa deserves his place. He's special.... despite lack of game time.my brother, u remember musa's goal in the finals of UAE 2013?…(if I can clearly remember), dt goal from a free kick, twas perfect.....

AF Nigeria Premier League 2015/2016 CSKA Moscow
EXCLUSIVE: Siasia picks Mikel, Ighalo and Ahmed Musa for Rio

Mikel and Ahmed Musa are set to feature at the Rio Olympics in August

by Samm Audu

AfricanFootball.com can exclusively reveal the three over-aged players coach Samson Siasia plans to take to the Rio Olympics in August – Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi, Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow.

These are the only over-aged players on the 60-man provisional squad for the summer games, we have exclusively gathered.

This means the Olympics dreams of Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi have been dashed.

The Olympics allows for three players who are beyond the eligible age of 23 to feature.

Siasia himself reasoned Mikel, 28, is keen on playing at Rio after he missed out on Beijing Olympics in 2008.

The coach has not hidden his admiration for 26-year-old Ighalo, who he made captain for the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt.

He has also praised the striker’s form in front of goal even though he has struggled to score in recent weeks now for club and country.

Ahmed Musa though was a surprise choice after Siasia stripped him of the Super Eagles captaincy in March.

The CSKA Moscow flying winger looks set to quit the Russian club in the summer with the English Premier League a likely destination.

He has played at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, 2013 AFCON as well as the 2011 U20 World Cup.

Nigeria, whose Olympic team are better known as Dream Team VI, are drawn in Group B alongside Japan, Colombia and Sweden at the games, which begin on August 4.

OSIMHEN SCORES TRADEMARK CURLER AS FLYING EAGLES THRASH SIAONE ACADEMY

Victor Osimhen is proving that his showing at the last U-17 World Youth Championship in Chile is not a fluke scoring a sweet curler for the Flying Eagles in a 4-1 thrashing of Siaone Academy in Abuja.

The game a friendly meant to prepare the team for their 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burundi saw the Nigeria team dominating the local side owned by Nigeria U-23 coach.

Osimhen scored a trademark curler, bending his effort from the right to the far corner of the post for his team first goal, a replica of two of the goals he scored at the U-17 WYC that he emerged top scorer with 10 goals.

Nwakali, who won the Most Valuable Player of the same tournament scored from the spot before an own goal confirmed the Amuneke boys dominance which was reduced by the Samson Siasia owned side.

The team of 50 players are currently training twice a day and the friendly is their first in the build up to their game against Burundi in May.

Good write up my brother.

I hate it when peeps come here to tag our players age cheats.

I know many old players that did nt cheat with their age.

One of them is Emmanuel Amuneke. He was born in 1970. He finished Class Five(so it was called then) in 1989. That means he was 19 then. (We dey old for school those days). He shortly after signed a professional contract with Julius Berger FC. He broke into d national team at d 1991 All African games (U23) as a 21years old. Shortly after he signed for Egyptian giant-Zamalek. And d rest is history.
He was one of d over-aged players at d 1996 Olympics. He used his real age. He did nt look older than the Likes of Amokachi, Okocha, Ikpeba and Oliseh hu were still U23 then.

I know most professional African players age-cheat bt it is nt 100%. It baffles me that even with the introduction of the MRI some people still believe our last 2 Golden Eaglets class were over aged.

Taiwo Awoniyi that even wrote WAEC after he participated in the 2013 FIFA U17.

A guy dat knows John Lazarus in Abuja said he wrote WAEC a year before he featured at d U17 WC yet people were saying Lazarus doesn't look 17.

I know how people doubted d ages of the 2013 Eaglets until a pix they took 2 years earlier as U15 surfaced. And the difference in terms of physique was so clear. They looked 15 in 2011 & then looked 30 in 2013?

Age cheats was well pronounced in d past bt we have a new generation of talents of which most are truely their real ages and lets run with that.
And i expect more from dem cos they are yet to hit their peaks.
tx you oga icon, when I see comments tagging our players as overage especially d last 2 sets of golden eaglets, I just bypass such comments, I don't take it into consideration at all.....d problem is dt no matter ao u explain or give facts and figures, some pp will still not believe because dey have a bad mind set...as for me, those pp are on dir own, I don't argue wit dem.

CHIDERA EZEH MAKING INROADS AT FC PORTO

Nigeria youth international Chidera Ezeh is pulling his weight at FC Porto slowly navigating his way to the first team with impressive performances for the U-19.

Ever present for the youth side of Porto who are presently third after five games in the U-19 league in Portugal, he was once again one of their best legs against their counterparts from Benfica.

He twice came close to opening the scoring for the team missing their best chance in the first half as well as in the second half before they finally got the breakthrough their dominance deserves via the spot.

Already he has scored once for the team and the slick forward who recently signed professional terms with the Portuguese giants is heavily tipped to make a step up to the B team next season.

18 year old Ezeh was part of the Nigeria U-17 team that won the world cup in 2013 and made the U-20 team to the last World cup in New Zealand but didn’t get to play as Nigeria crashed out in the round of 16.

“It was quite bad and painful that we are not going to the Nations Cup again,” Celtic defender Ambrose told Complete Sports. “We have to put that behind us immediately and start looking ahead to the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
