2-1! Wolves win! |
"Stones". "Boy stones..." ![]() Really? @GrammarNazi Please help mod. |
Welcome back. You'll need to give lifenajeje a loaf of bread for his perseverance... ![]() Welcome again. |
@ikdaddy01 Great lesson. Little things. I have learnt to stop at the next convenient place after driving in the rain, coming back to Lagos from a wedding at Ogbomoso. Visibility got so poor that I kept switching cars to lead me. I didn't stop, just kept wondering why my lights were that bad... That's until I was washing the car after Sunday Service the following day. The headlamps had a nice coat of dirt! Just one wet swipe and I wished I had come down to inspect in the rain. I'd have banged the car a lot less! |
olanewton:I'd rather drop it here. First, you shear the stock in a Pulper. The stock is either used paper or virgin pulp from trees. In solution, there is requisite separation from staples, dirt and ink (for used paper only). Stock is then bleached. After bleaching, stock is heavily diluted, cleaned by density separators (usually cyclones) and sent to a Fourdrinier or Crescent former (you can check pictures online). Then dried, reeled and rewound. |
@Centino Last piece had more than usual typos. What's up? Most confusing was your substituting "Mama" for "Maya" rushing to call Ndi. Do check. I also think you meant 'talons', not "fangs". About adding faces to characters, I will gladly contribute for your getting artist's impressions. I hope you aren't thinking model's pictures? I'd like to see YOUR facial representations of these characters! It's Royal Rumble, now! Everybody's hand against everyone else. The battleground is finally open for fatalities - not main character fatalities o! That (unknown) bloody-headed young man can go first. I don't like him already. |
myners007:Didn't you just create a problem? The middle of the temperature gauge is a good sign. Did you explain your fear to the "radiator mechanic" properly? Radiator expired? I think you developed a problem from nothing... Cc: adanny, piyke... |
Chi59:Please, do take that down. It's OK. It gets OK at the end, whenever that is. For those who've fled to The Anchor, it gets to be OK. I'd advise you don't pursue love yet, as well. |
Ermmm… Why only birds? Afterall, Mama Akunna transformed into different things before. Hehehe...not sure if battleground is ready for fatality. Battles everywhere! |
So, story moves from the physical to the spiritual "katakata"? Please tie it into the physical intensely. I literally caught myself floating with the last piece... |
This is why the mindset of today's youth is susceptible to crime. How much has been given? Families relocated, monies diverted to other things. All lost for a repeat?! When one defaults against the government, does the government pay? Was this to discourage the voters? How many will do this again next week? Bank ATMs debited but did not pay, things went up and everyone tried to secure himself, spending more than usual. All from the same Nigerian's pocket? Dear GOD... |
@Centino I look forward to your next piece because Saturday's Election result will be 'analysed'. Achike could still be saved by the bell, as he hurries into a very small calabash.. |
Sweet! Mama Akunna + Papa Efe (Irikefe as sub) tag team. Versus the Togolese birds... |
@fyneguy Isn't that the same as "buyback" in NNPC terminology? Same as selling the crude for refined product. It will not be MUCH cheaper than refined products even when it eliminates the transport cost. This move has been assumed by many, including myself. Building in export-facilitated Lagos and piping feedstock all the way from Bayelsa? The export market was the design. |
I'm hoping Irikefe is Evae's choice. Agbon fineboy's village people have come in form of Papa Efe for Round 1... |
I am still wondering why there are no resignations by Internal Security officers responsible for the vetting of National officers. From Ministers in NYSC scandals (or working in the Civil Service as National Service) to a Judicial Officer who apparently filled the correct BVN on Asset Declaration forms, but "forgot" to include the foreign currency bank accounts (as alleged). An Agency is actually tasked with this and someone was PAID from public funds to carry out this task. To imagine that some of these National officers had been Commissioners or had served in a position that required such investigation previously is shameful. Nigerians get to be in a quagmire because of forms filled over a year ago and vetted by someone who didnt look into the financial aspect as well as he/she should. |
@Piyke Well done! I'm optimistic you'll find the cause of the sound. I also think you distanced yourself while driving and got to be alone too long. It's good to pick your speed group, remain in sight of faster car so to query decisions when you get to same spot. Don't mind me, advisers dey plenty when team lose match. One Police check point can mess up all that. Well done again! |
Dpharisee:Spot on! |
@Fahrenz Thank you for narrating how it went down. I mean, the shocking tale of bravado by the Police report was almost swallowed whole! It's painful that others took their lives in their hands, while the "official" report tries to give reasons for fuel spent in the patrol vehicle. |
Security Agencies who vetted and passed Mr. Onnoghen's name for this office should submit names of those to be retired. It appears his accounts were linked by BVN, yet his Asset Declaration forms were not properly scrutinised. This should lead to a cleansing. |
Whichever Agencies that investigated this senior lawyer and found him clean enough after vetting should submit names for resignation. The senior lawyer has a BVN. It appears the amounts were linked at the time of form filling. |
Statistically enlightening. I believe he needs to understand that most setups outside Africa are merit-based. Until "Federal Character" becomes merit-based, truthfully identifying problems will appear an impossible leap. |
Enough information to draw up a business proposal in any field, not just automech! Giving a mathematical figure like radauto suggests would be dependent on individual set-up, just like in a business proposal. Going hypothetical, the 200th to 999th customers would get any item free of charge if the first 199 paid for troublesome scans; especially if PHCN was upbeat, you got low-rent location and few staff. Unfortunately, there will be unknown months ahead. The moral stance brings conscience into business. Neither here nor there, really. So, my final answer is, "how does one quality compare with the cheapest of same quality in terms of cost?" ... and that lasts until there's a Union or Association with capitalism in mind. |
Maybe the goat and ram were stolen from Agbonyibo's animal training shop? Solid alibi for Ndi... when his friend gets back. Castro's destiny will be scooped into the calabash... Nice! |
I hope I don't sound too pessimistic, but the challenge is the age old institution of meritocracy in Nigeria. Challenging Federal Character and the so-called Nigerian system. Harmonising all salary scales is not going to be effective if time is spent setting up a committee or a commission and then pegging a date in "2022" to achieve full 'implementation'. That appears to be the most preferred political route by successive Nigerian governments. No one would give up perks for nothing, but everyone can give up much for a general review. "Everyone" isn't ready, as some just want to sneak past the curtain into irregular high pay. |
Baba for the boys! E dey here... OP, presentation is key. Only diviners like me can mediate. Next time, include mine and call me. My cowrie throwing is on point! |
Mod, please correct the spelling of her name. The last letter is an "i". |
Request for transfer due to relocation has not been effected since mid-2017. I have sent emails and was given a number to call in December 2018. That, there, is a problem. |
@diportivo Any experience with? I believe that until people can sue for non-disclosure, problems will continue from that angle. When people win such cases with compensation, "seasoned engineers" (and other point staff elsewhere) will gladly hand over liability to the customer. |
The political establishment does not like... Lagos likes... I wonder how many actually understood his comments? |
@Centino I meant to ask if the sentence shouldn't read "Mama Willy Willy had just finished sweeping her frontage...", where the two other women went to consult in desperation. Nice story, didn't mean to nitpick. I can't direct the story by stating my biases, but I liked thinking Maya was on the upswing and maturing (else Agbon-fine boy is already working?), use of plain language by a 'spiritual' proverb-speaker who defused sexual tension before (abi Agbon-fine boy is already working again?). I can't readily remember any more now, but that was what I meant. Dont change anything you think about, please. I'm learning. I have no doubt I'll like the final product. I already like it midstream... |
