Yesterday, it was reported that a woman was publicly humiliated and stripped totally unclad on the order of a prominent politician in Ika local government area of Delta state.

Hon. Chief Friday Eluro, a high chief from Owanta area and a special assistant to the Delta state governor - allegedly ordered his boys to humiliate the woman for insulting him.

The woman named Dada who is a mother of one and said to be mentally unstable, was tied up, stripped unclad and beaten by the youths as seen in a viral video posted online.

According to activist Prince Emefiele Harrison, the politician has been arrested and is currently detained at the Delta state CID in Asaba.

Report also has it that Hon. Eluro has been sacked by the Delta state governor over the shameful and brutal act on the woman.

Investigation into the matter is still ongoing.

Okowa Orders Sack Of Aide For Violent Behaviour And Assault On A Lady

Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Friday ordered the sack of Mr Friday Eluro who was caught on video assaulting a woman.

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Aniagwu said the Governor frowned at the unwarranted assault on a woman especially from an appointee of government who ought to ensure that rule of law is observed in all situations.

"Governor Okowa having watched the video of the assault on a certain woman has directed that the appointment of Mr Friday Eluro as Security Aide be terminated forthwith to serve as deterrent to others”.

"In the last three and half years, our administration have worked so hard to entrench the enduring peace in our state and we will not sit back and fold our hands to watch appointees of government or any other person no matter how highly placed in the society to take laws into their hands”.

He warned appointees of government to be of good behaviour and always remember that they are ambassadors of government and are supposed to be role models in the society.

Beyond sacking of the Aide, the Governor has also directed full investigation into the incident with a view to serving the interest of justice.

There is a popular female taxi driver who was always seen working so hard to meet up, it was very clear that all wasn't well with her as her taxi was worn out and was no longer road worthy even though she still managed it despite its bad state, and for a woman, that was very unusual.

The pastor who had silently noticed her, asked for her to be brought to his house with a motive of helping her out of her difficult situation which was of course oblivious(unknown) to the female taxi driver and people around. 

He asked for her services, asking that she conveys some goods to his village, Ohanku. She agreed affirmatively and charged him 10,000 Naira but later brought it down to 7,000 Naira after the pastor bargained .

It was not a hidden fact that the old taxi couldn't comfortably embark on such long journey due to its crappy condition but the female taxi driver pleaded to manage. She couldn't miss out on the money as it would go a long way to help her, so she preferred to manage.

The pastor studied her for a while before making his real intentions known, he didn't want to hire her but actually wanted to gift her a better vehicle so that she could drive something more appealing. 

It was all mixed feelings of laughter,shock, joy and excitement for the woman and everyone present. The woman couldn't control the outburst of emotions that erupted within her as she broke down in tears and thanked him profusely. 

The pastor did a good job in pulling a Christmas prank and everyone fell for it.

Former governor of Abia State, Orji Kalu, has reacted to the vice presidential debate involving Prof. Yemi Osinbajo of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the VP candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Peter Obi and three other vice presidential candidates on Friday.

Canada has become the first G7 country to completely legalize recreational weed.

Well here’s some good news for those of you living North of the border. It was just announced on Tuesday that Canada has legalized recreational marijuana use after the country’s two legislative chambers approved the Cannabis Act.

According to reports, the bill will allow anyone over the age of 18 to possess no more than 30 grams of marijuana. It also allows adults to sell cannabis as well as grow up to four plants in their home, making Canada the second country in the world after Uruguay to legalize recreational marijuana use, and the first G7 nation to do so.

“We’ve just witnessed a historic vote for Canada. The end of 90 years of prohibition. Transformative social policy, I think. A brave move on the part of the government,” the bill’s sponsor Sen. Tony Dean told the CBC. “Now we can start to tackle some of the harms of cannabis. We can start to be proactive in public education. We’ll see the end of criminalization and we can start addressing Canada’s $7 billion illegal market. These are good things for Canada.”

It’s reported that Canada will go legal within 8-12 weeks allowing provinces, municipalities, law enforcement, and other entities to prepare for the new law.

Now the real question remains when will the United States follow in suit? Hopefully sooner than later now.
