Thanks for the information and accept my deepest sympathy on the death of your cousin |
Is there some thing you would change in your life, were you to come again in the next world? I would like to be born in the same house. But then I would learn to play the piano, learn to speak french, dutch, and the sign language and probably be a medical doctor. These are things I've always wanted to do, would have loved to do but couldn't find the time to do them. Over to you. |
Kindly remove Indomie from the list. It is definitely not a Nigerian food. It is Noodles, eaten by the chinese. |
Can someone help with this? What are we contributing to? |
One of our family friends Mr Salami arrived UK for the first time 5 years ago. He decided to go to Sainsburys by himself for some shopping. He was moving round the big store in awe, undecided what and what to buy when he heard the supervisor's announcement on the speaker: 'will somebody bring 'Salami' to the Deli counter'. He couldn't believe his ears, somebody from home must have recognised him as he came into the store. He left his trolley, rushed to the Deli counter and said to the assistant: 'excuse me, 'am salami, I understand 'am wanted at the counter'. The attendant was so shocked - 'You what?!' she said. Am salami, the man repeated, somebody just announced my name on the speaker. You couldn't be she said. You see Salami is a type of sausage!!! |
There is only ONE God in the whole of the universe. We only have different ways of worshipping or getting through to him. Christians call Jesus, Moslems worship Allah, some people get to 'Olodumare' through Sango, Oya, Ifa Olokun a soro dayo (a La Yemi Elebuibon), the Jews worship yahweh, they don't believe Jesus is the messiah. In India, their religious is 'bhakti' - a devotion to personal gods, this is just to mention a few. The problem with our people is they want to be like 'Oyinbos'. In embracing their culture, they have completely forgotten ours. This covers all aspects of life - dressing, behaviours, our schools, our chilren do not even understand or speak our languages anymore. And the irony of the whole thing is these oyinbos want to be exactly like us: www.oyotunjiafricanvillage.org 'This is United States of America, where a white american HRH Oba Efuntola Oseijeman Adelabu Adefunmi I, is one of the most important practitioners of Traditional African Religion in the Western Hemisphere. He is not only credited as the first initiated African-American, but also as one of the pioneers of cultural nationalism in America and the first African-American to be crowned King (of all Yoruba in the Americas and Canada).' Their religion is Ifa oracle. If these oyinbos are embracing our culture, is it not shameful we've lost everything? |
Love is the meeting of two souls. Love is two hearts beating as one. Love is Understanding. Love is Togetherness. I truly and honestly hope you find true love. |
Prepare for blackout for 30 days Ayodele Adesanmi, Abuja - 29.02.2008 RESIDENTS of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti and Lagos states will have to do without electricity from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) for 30 days due to the vandalism of electricity transmission lines supplying power to the states. The Minister of State for Power, Mrs. Balaraba Ibrahim, who said this on Thursday in Abuja, disclosed that unknown vandals had on Sunday, February 17, cut down with a saw, 330kv Tower No. 395 off Oko Baba near Abeokuta, Ogun State. Also on February 27 at 1.02 a.m., the minister said vandals fell another 330kv Tower on Ikeja West –Aiyede Transmission Line. This is Tower No 507 close to Temperance Farms Ota. The minister, who briefed newsmen on the spate of vandalism of electricity transmission lines in the area, said the effect of these would be blackouts in the six states. The blackout, according to her, would last one month because “reconstruction could take about one month to complete.” The minister, while emphasising the resolve of the government to trace the vandals, said that anyone that could come up with useful information leading to the arrest of the particular vandals would be rewarded with N1 million. To reconstruct the fallen tower and beefing up the security, she said that over N20 million would be needed which would exclude loss of revenue to the PHCN, while the line would be out of service. On the mode of operations of the vandals, the minister explained that nothing was removed from the tower or the adjoining line sections which, according to her, was a clear act of sabotage and not ordinary vandalism. According to her, “acts of vandalism and sabotage are retrogressive in our efforts at nation building. Million of naira that would have been used in expanding the grid network is now being used to reconstruct vandalised tower lines. “They also bring unquantifiable and unimaginable inconveniencies and socio-economic losses to the affected people,” she said. According to her, electric grid system of any nation was its backbone for socio-economic development, adding that when such act was perpetrated, it called for a national rethink and prompt collective action to speedily reverse the trend. |
YES. Loads of them. Am a veg and fruits freak. And I drink a lot of water. |
Would anybody be shocked that Otunba Sunday Adegeye a.k.a. King Sunny Ade, KSA has stated that spraying is our way of life and part of our culture, thereby heading the protest to ban it?. THAT IS THE SOURCE OF HIS LIVELIHOOD!!! |
The missionaries came and brainwashed us. And we forgot our roots. There is nothing wrong with African religion. |
If this is not too late I would say Engineering. The sky is your limit! |
DEFINITELY NO. Just answered your question. |
Both Kilani of Saworoide fame and Tade Ogidan. They are my 'kind of people'. |
It's good to donate blood. It's good to be ones brother's keeper. But will this blood be given freely to patients who need it or they would have to pay for it?. I would not be comfortable with the idea of patients buying my blood. Or my blood falling into wrong hands and ended u being sold by hawkers to desperate innocent citizens. |
The guy admitted himself openly and it was reported in all the national and international newspapers that the elections (including his - presidential)were not free and fair, and that the they were marred with a lot of electoral malpractices. That to me is enough reason to nullify his result and call for another presidential election. |
I don't think its really geting old that scares me, I think its the idea of withering. If one can age youthfully(if there's anything like that) I wouldn't mind at all. But to become a shadow of oneself, when surrounded by young, vibrant and beautiful people makes one feel like the end is near. |
I would say its a bloody waste of good well earned money. Nothing wrong in celebrating weddings or anything for that matter. But some people have a habit of flaunting money in the midst of poverty. So I would say moderation does make sense. |
You didnt say if she's having an affair with an older man (you know aristo). Maybe he providing for her in a way you cannot and that's why she is doing it. You also did not say whether you were planning to get married or its just teenage love. Whatever, 'what you will not stick as a rich man, you don't condone it when you're poor'. She is not your girl. |
If you meet a lady, the plain truth is she is not likely to be a virgin. And theres a saying 'if you have two oranges, you must taste them to know which is sweeter'. Your girlfriend was dating two men, she decided on you and picked you. And because she didn't want any skeletons in her cupboard, she went further to tell you about the other guy before you tie the marital knot. So whats your problem? Would you rather she had kept quiet about it and let you find out by yourself in future? how would you have felt then? The lady has done no wrong o. And I think she is one person you should go ahead and marry. Don't make the mistake of leaving her or you end up marrying a worse person. |
YES. Thats the answer to you question. As in people cheat on those they love. I think it's due to the overall feeling of getting stuck to one person for life. No matter how comfortable and happy you think you are, after some years you realize the relationship is becoming boring and monotonous and need some conduments. So you seek for adventure. But that doesn't necessarily mean you dont love your spouse. People do it all the time but like 'the snake under the green grass that we are' we put on this 'holier than thou' attitude. |
Advice No 1. What is worth doing at all is worth doing well!!! As in, if you ever happen to be in a relationship don't keep it secret. If you do that then something is terribly wrong. No2. Never mix business with pleasure!! It always ends badly. No 3. Don't ever sell yourself short, or have a relationship with any one who would not give you his all. The guy is probably using you and his through with you now. Forget him and face your work. Or better still find another job. |
I feel for you my dear, sometimes men are a pain in the ass. Most times they drive you crazy and I understand your wanting a male friend. Often times girlfriends cannot be trusted, they might turn round to stab you in the back. But look before you leap with your idea of a male friend. Pause and think. You might end up getting more than you bargain for. Bests of luck!!! |
In the spirit of 'he who wants a child should rejoice with a new born', I say congratulations. And Happiness Always. |
Most kings in yorubaland have more than one wife - 'olori'. |
You do not have to marry anybody just because she is 30 or over it, at the same time you cannot abandon a lady because she could not get pregnant in the early months of your relationship, whatever happened to for better for worse? And for goodness sake what she had was a sexually transmitted disease, it is curable and occurs in most ladies. It is not deadly!!! |
Tatoo is cool! will try and find out for you |
