Let's get things straight.
At the divorce proceedings..the wife brought uncontested medical records to show her injuries varying from broken ribs to bruises and damaged vessels over the course of her marriage.
Neighbours and family agreed that he beat her sometimes though they wished she would stay for the children.

This is Nigeria...it is not easy for a woman to leave her marriage with the kind of stigma waiting for her outside as seen in some comments here. Especially after having 4 children..
