HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by corrall(f): 11:57am On Mar 15, 2013
blank: Giving cod liver oil is very good for babies. The issue is the dosage. It is very easy to overdose for babies. So, my doctor recommended me taking the supplement and breastfeeding the baby. For my older son, i started giving him Abidec with omega 3 and 6 from 1 year cos the dose was regulated. Also, be careful of the quality of cod liver cos some contain mercury which is very damaging for an adult not to mention, babies.
Thanks for the info babes...giving her 2.5mg a day...I got the one for babies...with some orange flavored thingy...

Blendy77: @Demmykay, don't apply anythg on ur baby's face just let it be and it will disappear same way it appeared. One of my boys had same rashes at 3wks and I almost went crazy thinking he was reacting to something or maybe it was heat rashes. When I eventually met a ped, she asked me to use sudocream and it became really worst as it extended to his neck as well so I started researching it online and discovered from foreign sites that its an hormonal problem that clears on its own. So I stopped the sudocream and the rash cleared up in 3 days. U can google rashes on babies face and u'll see several write up on it. Keep using the ori and his bathing soap only
I used coconut oil for my girl when she had that rash, it probably went on its own, but it cleared after a little while. I still use coconut oil on her body. But for diaper rash, I use agnesia powder...it works wonders.

Hi friends, how are you all doing?

I have just been adviced by a friend on giving cod liver oil to my baby, she is 3 months now. Who knows how good this is? I hear it helps with cold and brain development because of the omega 3 it contains. Plenty advice needed. Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and you all are doing a great job. I have definitely learnt a lot.

I have a few questions of my own. First of all, I am a first time mum.

I have a 4 week old baby and I am having issues with diaper rash. I have used one or two creams but no difference. I have also just bought sudocream, my sis inlaw suggests that I should also air my LO's butt even after using sudocream and then subsequently used vaseline. Please are there any other suggestions?

My girl gases a lot, I am wondering if it's from something I ate, someone told me to discontinue milk, I am wondering what I can eat to replace that nutrient. Please I am very very open to suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi friends,

I am now 13 weeks o, the throwing up part is reducing, finally went to register and i was told i have traces of malaria n thypoid. I have been given amoxil for the thypoid, but the doctor gave me fansidar, i asked around and i gather that fansidar is not recommended for pregnant women under 16 weeks. Please who knows which anti malaria medication is better, is it chloroquine or camoquine?

Please help.
Thanks

winkHello My friends,

I have drawn so much inspiration from your various posts that i have decided to post. I thank God, i am in my 11th week, counting from my LMP. I can relate to diamondlove...well, maybe not as bad, but i have those sessions at least 3 times a day. I have not yet registered for ante-natal, i stay in Ajah, n i am still looking out for a good clinic with a good doctor.

Meen, the past 5 weeks has been something else o. I just crave for rest, standing up every morning to go to work is a BIG problem, and i ALWAYS throw up while brushing, and when i get to work, mayb cos of the stress i pass thru to get to work, cos it doesnt happen on weekends.

Drinking water is a problem, but i understand the need for me to have fluids in my system, so i take ribena sometimes instead, or mineral, something that has taste. I take fruits sometimes too. If i am allowed, i can eat like 10 times a day, in the tiniest bits. When i am hungry its like i have not eaten in days, after 3 spoons i would be full, and if the food doesnt go down well, it ends up in the toilet.

I keep asking peeps wiv experience, please when will this end, i cant wait for it to end. I wonder when the bump will come out... wink

Another thing, my stomach area is begining to itch a bit...who knows what is abt?

God will see us through

Thanks.
LiteratureRe: Continue The (Lola) Story by corrall(f): 5:06pm On May 14, 2012
maclatunji: Mama Lola's heart skipped several beats as she feared the worst- here was her only daughter in front of her lying so still almost lifeless. "Lifeless," that word seemed to jolt her to reality, Lola was still alive and would soon become lifeless without emergency medical attention. Then it hit her, she could call the Lagos State Emergency Numbers 777 or 112 for help. She wasn't sure that her call would be picked-up but she thought it was worth a trial especially with the encouraging advert that she had heard earlier-on in the day on Lagos Radio. Sandra started crying; "Is mommy dead?" she asked in-between sobs as she shook her mother's arm with her delicate little hands. Mama Lola ignored her granddaughter and brought-out her battered Nokia 3310 (it was the only phone she had ever owned). She called out the numbers 7-7-7 like a Primary 1 pupil learning arithmetic as she dialed the number. The phone made a beep and a friendly female voice responded: "Hello! My name is Ronke from the Lagos Emergency Centre, how may I help you?"

Mama Lola screamed, e gba mi O, it is my daughter O. She just escape explosion and is now unconscious. Ronke, the emergency centre attendant at the other end of the call responded: "Was it a bomb explosion and where did it happen?" Mama Lola responded: "no, it is generator explosion, the explosion happened at Chief Adedayo's house, No. 1 Adedayo Street, Amuludun, Lagos." Mama Lola who was all-the-while dancing without music due to fear and anguish quickly added: "but madam I am calling you because of my daughter, Lola O, our own address is No.4, Adedayo Street, Amuludun, Lagos." The call center attendant replied: "no problem ma, I am forwarding the information to the ambulance service right now, they will be on their way soon, please be patient as they will definitely come." Mama Lola responded, Um-ha ese O, thank you. She ended the phone call as she thought of her next line of action.

*****************A couple of streets away from Adedayo Street************************

Baba Lola was arguing at the viewing centre over whether Chelsea could come back from a 1-3 deficit against Napoli in the 2nd leg of the second round of the UEFA Champions League with his best friend Papa John at Mosco's viewing centre. He had been anticipating this match for two weeks and now that it was time for it to kick-off, he couldn't hide his excitement. He told Papa John with all sense of seriousness, "I trust Drogba he must score three goals, tonight." Papa John retorded, "like he scored in the first leg, abi?" Baba Lola in the heat of the excitement of Champions League Football did not notice that his phone was ringing...
"Its a GO....ahhhh, what was that move he made, this guy just has to score again", said Baba Lola. Just then, he hears a phone ringing, he shouts "whose phone is that? please answer and stop distracting us", the ringing continued, Papa John said, "its seems like its ringing from your pocket o, better check", He checked and saw that it was Iya Lola, "why is this woman disturbing me, hello, kilode, what is it? i have told you i will soon come back, why are you disturbing me?...what? What is wrong with Lola? ...ahhh...fire? explosion? ahhh...i am coming"

While he walked home, so many thought came into his head, Lola was his only child, even though he was not happy with the fact that at her age, she was still under his roof. Oh what dreams he had, he had dreamt that she will one day grew up, go to school, become a medical doctor, or maybe a lawyer, marry a rich and wealthy man, who will build a big house for him and...the shrill sound of a siren brought him back to earth, when the ambulance drove pass him, it was then he realised that he was almost home and the ambulance stopped in front of his house.
