adeekiti:Same here. I did mine since April and up till now, I haven't received any confirmation message from them. |
yooglodotcom:The law makers can never be seen as law breakers. |
This is serious...collecting over 2m from someone and still have the heart to avoid the person's calls and feel comfortable...lord have mercy. @op do you have the deposit slip or transaction receipt of the money you sent to him? That's the only proof you have that a transaction occurred between you and him. Finally, inspired autos should come and tell us his own side of the story. Breach of trust is a very serious offense in business. |
zieraw2005:Really...mind sharing your experience with us? |
We've all heard of (or seen firsthand) people doing some pretty crazy things at work. Truth is, you don't have to throw a chair through a window or quit in the middle of a presentation to cause irreparable damage to your career. No matter how talented you are or what you've accomplished, there are certain behaviors that instantly change the way people see you and forever cast you in a negative light. The following list contains some of the most notorious behaviors that you should avoid at all costs. 1. Backstabbing: The name says it all. Stabbing your colleagues in the back, intentionally or otherwise, is a huge source of strife in the workplace. One of the most frequent forms of backstabbing is going over someone's head to solve a problem. People typically do this in an attempt to avoid conflict, but they end up creating even more conflict as soon as the victim feels the blade. Anytime you make someone look bad in the eyes of their colleagues, it feels like a stab in the back, regardless of your intentions. 2. Gossiping: People make themselves look terrible when they get carried away with gossiping about other people. Wallowing in talk of other people's misdeeds or misfortunes may end up hurting their feelings if the gossip finds its way to them, but gossiping will make you look negative and spiteful every time, guaranteed. 3. Taking Credit for Someone Else's Work: We've all experienced that stomach-dropping feeling that happens when you discover that someone has stolen your idea. Taking credit for someone else's work — no matter how small — creates the impression that you haven't accomplished anything significant on your own. Stealing credit also shows that you have zero regard for your team and your working relationships. 4. Having an Emotional Hijacking: This includes throwing things at co-workers, screaming at them, making people cry, and other telltale signs of an emotional hijacking. Emotional hijacking demonstrates low emotional intelligence, and it's an easy way to get fired. As soon as you show that level of instability, people will question whether or not you're trustworthy and capable of keeping it together when it counts. Exploding at anyone, regardless of how much they might "deserve it," turns a huge amount of negative attention your way. You'll be labeled as unstable, unapproachable, and intimidating. Controlling your emotions keeps you in the driver's seat. When you are able to control your emotions around someone who wrongs you, they end up looking bad instead of you. 5. Announcing That You Hate Your Job: The last thing anyone wants to hear at work is someone complaining about how much they hate their job. Doing so labels you as a negative person and brings down the morale of the group. Bosses are quick to catch on to naysayers who drag down morale, and they know that there are always enthusiastic replacements waiting just around the corner. 6. Bragging: When someone hits a home run and starts gloating as they run the bases, it's safe to assume that they haven't hit very many home runs. On the other hand, if they hit a home run and simply run the bases, it conveys a business-as-usual mentality, which is far more intimidating to the other team. Accomplishing great things without bragging about them demonstrates the same strong mentality — it shows people that succeeding isn't unusual to you. 7. Telling Lies: So many lies begin with good intentions — people want to protect themselves or someone else — but lies have a tendency to grow and spread until they're discovered, and once everyone knows that you've lied, there's no taking it back. Getting caught up in a lie, no matter how small, is exhausting and hard on your self-esteem. You have to be authentic if you want to be happy with who you are. http://www.insidify.com/discovery/the-9-worst-mistakes-you-can-make-at-work?utm_source=Worst+Mistake+to+Batch+1&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Worst+Mistake+to+Batch+1 |
All you have to do is to mention weakness that aren't critical for the job, weakness you have improved on. And as for your strength, its advisable to mention strengths you feel would be of great benefit to the company. |
Starships4u:Is Awka not part of Nigeria? |
Caracta:Lol don't you get it...he's planing to run for presidency come 2019. All this eye service you're currently witnessing from him are part of his plans to buy you into his camp. |
Op you forgot to add the modify button. It helps you add or delete certain sentences or phrases you feel might or might not be necessary in a post. |
omojesu202:I will suggest you gather the basic information about admissions in canada from the internet. Equip yourself with the knowledge and I can assure you that your clients would be pleased to work with someone like you. Good luck. |
Donbryan:If you're a skilled worked, there's a probability that they might call you back. Most especially if the vacant post needs to be filled asap, and they (your employers) feel that from what they've seen on your CV, you just might be the right candidate for the job. But if you're a fresh graduate with little or no experience, then they might just turn to the next available candidate and forget about you. |
omojesu202:You have to be specific. Abroad is a general term, Abroad could mean Brazil, chile, japan...etc. So when you say abroad, you must be very specific as to the countries you will be directing and giving expert advice to prospective students. From there you can visit the schools website, know their tuition fees, visa application fees, accommodation...etc. omojesu202:Cost of setting up an office where? Where are you based? omojesu202:About the salary issue, its between you and the company. From the job description given to you and the physical appearance of the company, you should be able to have a rough estimate of what you're likely to earn along with other staffs. And you should be able to know the exact number of staffs the company can employ and manage properly |
afuye:Anytime |
swtgrl4eva:Lol that's because you don't know dora personally. Despite her achievements she still respected her husband. Her husband even confessed after her death that she still held water for him in a bowl to wash his hands before and after meal. That's humility. That you didn't know him (dr chike) doesn't mean people never congratulated him on behalf of his wife. swtgrl4eva:Lol...you're really funny. So I go to your village meet your parents, pay your bride price, do a wedding and bring you to my house, and you tell me that no one is the head of the home? My dear, I believe that its either you're not a Nigerian or you've spent a great deal of your life outside the shores of this country swtgrl4eva:You're personally not against it because of your culture and not because you feel a man owns the home. Anyways good luck to your opinion. Everyone is entitled to theirs. |
@op...a very poor attempt at trying to get traffic to your blog. For those running, isn't brono part of Nigeria? No Nigerian should be afraid of visiting any part of this country. Buhari has come in so the boko haram menace will come to an end very soon. For me, once I can be assured of a well secured staff quarters, I won't mind leaving my current job for such job cos I know that the pay will be mouth watering considering the civil unrest in the state. |
afuye:Good! Go to forum games board, scroll down you'll see the name of the moderator there, send him an e-mail indicating your reason, your preferred board, and any other information you feel might increase your chances and he will treat it accordingly. (he's the HRM of Nairaland) Good luck. |
swtgrl4eva:I agree with you, women are now liberated compared to those days where they were relegated to the kitchens. Women have decided to challenge themselves by competing with men in almost every aspect of their professional life. From the university to the employment market to manual labour, politics and even now painting...lol In fact some women earn twice their husbands salary. And that's not a bad achievement because most men these days prefer going for the working class to the lazy ones. Reason is so that she (the working class) can shoulder part of the families financial responsibilities and relieve her husband off the stress. Also, I've even seen women who get married to ND holders and go as far as reading up to PhD level. But even at that, she's fully aware that the mantle of leadership of that house still belongs to her husband, the moment she let's her achievements (financial and academically) get into her head, that would mean the end of her marriage. So you see my dear, no matter how hard a woman reads or works, she's still submissive to the man and people will congratulate and praise her husband for those achievements. Meaning the man still gets all the glory. If you get married tomorrow and begin to shine, people will praise your husband for doing a good job on you regardless of who's footing the bills in the home. So your phrase "what a man can do, a woman can do better" is hereby proven to be false. |
swtgrl4eva:Because men are the dominant specie, and in most cases the breadwinner of the household. Secondly, society demands that women be submissive to men. So don't let that "what a man can do, a woman can do better" quote deceive you. A man will always out shine a woman any day anytime anywhere. |
swtgrl4eva:I disagree |
I love hard-working women...I hope this will be a challenge to girls out there. I wish her success in her chosen career path. |
afuye:Ok |
afuye:Yes |
afuye:Lol...but you're currently serving a ban in celebrities section. It would be impossible for now until you either mail the mods there and ask them to un ban you, or you wait until your ban elapse. |
I would advise you to continue with your petroleum engineering. You're already in 200level. In 3 years time, you'll be a graduate. Most experienced electricians I've come across didn't attend the university. Even the ground men in PHCN, some of them didn't go to school, the learnered ones stay in the office and describe the job, its the WAEC holders (technicians) that execute them. Continue with your petroleum course, and look for an experienced technician (preferable from PHCN) to put you through. The money you'll pay your technician to learn the basic practical aspect of electricity, and the knowledge you'll acquire will be nothing compared to what you'll spend if you decide to abandon your current course and start all over again with Electrical. |
Most companies specify their preferred gender (male) on the advert. So its almost impossible for a woman to apply. Secondly, most companies, firms and even transportation companies are used to having male drivers. So its safe to conclude that they might frown at the idea of a woman coming on board. But that doesn't mean that women don't get employed as professional drivers in Nigeria. Some months back, I saw a topic (on nairaland) about a female driver who drives one of dangote's trucks....so nothing is impossible. Just that a larger percentage of them (women) believe that professional driving is a man's job. |
0806436bnj:They'll recruit whenever they feel like recruiting. |
Whatever the job, you want the interviewer to remember you for your personality and performance: not as "the one that dressed as a traditional juju priest". Once you have the job, you can wear whatever the employer approves of. But you need to get the job first, so play safe. If you look really smart it will give a big boost to your confidence. |
samuelson06:When you're a contract staff in a bank for 4 years do you think your four years experience would matter much considering the fact that you have 2.1 and 2.2 degree holders in the same bank who have spent four years with you as well. Even if the bank decides to convert a few of you guys into full staff, it would still come down to qualifications and you still won't stand a chance. Your only solution would be to go for PGD, then masters and some professional courses. That's when employers would begin to take you seriously. |
