This issue of money comes in when I called him and he told me a man can help but he requested to take money before the certificate could be issued. and that I will have to be attending the training every Saturday when I am taken. I pleaded to let me pay the money after receiving the first month Salary but the certificate man declined the offer.And I as a person cannot pay a dime.

I used to be against tithing back then, but after having some personal experiences I've come to discover that most little churches survive on tithes.

I have a relation who's a pastor in one of the penticostal churches in a village in the South East. He records less than a thousand naira as offerings every sunday. What he uses to run the church (when I mean run I mean fueling the generator for sunday and weekly activities, transportation, photocopies and printing...etc.) Is nothing compared to what he spends. And even with the little tithes he receives, its still not enough cos most times he ends up using his personal money for God's work.

We christians should understand that its not easy to be a leader in the church. Even Christ during his days on earth had an Accountant (Judas) which simply tells us that his ministry survived on donations and freewill offerings.

Christians of today are very stingy, most people give less than N50 as offering, and expect you as the pastor to use it to run the church, its not possible. Tithing is being preached today because most pastors are dying of hunger. Imaging a full time pastor with a wife and kids, going home with less than N10,000 every month, and you'll sit in the comfort of your house and criticize him for asking his members to pay tithe. That's a terrible attitude if you ask me.

According to you, your God is responsible for day and night. I was only letting you know that day and night are mere consequences of the existence of Father Time. They don't mean that someone created time. In fact, the bible says that Time existed before the bible God.

"In the beginning...(of Time, of course),... the word was God." Time was not created. That's why it's called Father.

My agreement is that time has been in existence before the creation of the world.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

This tells us even before the world was created, time had already existed...we're saying the same thing.

But go back and notice the phrase "in the beginning." It means that Father Time ALREADY EXISTED. All the universe needed was a sperm donor and Time played the role of that guy. The longer we live, the more we look like our father Time. One can see Time when you gaze at an old woman or an old man.

The bible isn't meant to scare anyone. Its the word of God and its meant to inspire you as you wade though the turbulence waters of life.

The threats you mean are punishment meant for the devil and his agents, its not the will of God that any should perish, but if you allow the devil use you as an instrument in becoming a hindrance to the flow of the gospel, then you've automatically become a partaker in his (the devil) punishment.

I believe its an irrational question because the bible has given you lots and lots of detailed proves to make you understand that God is a spirit, and has been in existence before the universe was formed.

Romans 1:18–22 says,

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools … ”

And here the Bible explains why otherwise intelligent people choose to believe impossible things—that firstly the universe, then life, just popped into existence without any adequate cause. They choose to illogically accept that their two ‘great beginnings’ had no sufficient cause, rather than acknowledge and honour their Creator.

To your question...to ask where someone who is eternal, someone who had no beginning, came from (‘Who created God, or who created the Word?’) is like asking, ‘To whom is the bachelor married?’ It is an irrational question.

The Bible matches reality, which is not surprising because it comes from the Creator Himself.

John 1:1-3 says...
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

I've come across some Africans resident abroad say they avoid "African" churches because their services are too long; while others say long services are evidence of the Holy Spirit being in control.

So, should the spirituality of a Church be gauged by the length of its services?

It matters to me. I can't imagine myself sitting in a church from morning till 2pm.

Churches should be brief so they don't bore their members. 7:30-11am is ok for me.
