God has been so good to my family this year and a particular blessing has been giving us sleepless night.
I work with a big organisation here in Lagos and currently earn about N600k. I used to work in the branch since my entry level days 6 years ago until I was able to runz the head office movement.
Ever since I join the HQ two years, my life has been at ease. No weekend duties, no sickening pressures from customers. I have been able to develop my self, complete the professional courses I abandoned and can rest well on weekends/public holidays.
The worklife balance now isn't only the advantage of working at the HQ. The career progression and rapid promotion crowns it all.
My spouse earns a little above N400k and we manage ourselves well. Our combined income isn't that much but we've been able to achieve a lot due to our mutual cooperation. She commits her resources 100% into our home. Some people see me as a "big man" outside, no knowing I am actually enjoying the reward of marrying a good wife.
My wife recently got a job very lucrative job. Salary is about N1.5M monthly. She was on the process for close to a year. You can imagine our joy when she was eventually given an offer. This job is a huge one for us as a family and will make life more sweet.
My pain now is the job is based at Abuja and that means she has to relocate there with our kids. Abuja is not where I can drive to considering the security situation of Nigeria. Also, it won't be wise to fly down every week (I also have hidden phobia for heights ) because of costs and other attendant risks.
I actually want us to live together as a family most especially because of our kids. Some Kids tend to be spoilt when raised almost alone their mothers. As a father, I want to jointly raise them with their mother and also instill discipline in them appropriately.
The only solution on sight is to ask my company for redeployment to a branch at Abuja. This I fear might return me back to "Egypt". I.e days of stunted growth, no promotions. In summary, I am scared of killing my career by myself.
My wife is okay with us visiting each other every month but I am vehemently against it.

The house had electricity issue so I was advised not to move in immediately but trust me seeing the beauty and positivity in my new environment I decided to move in immediately. I was so excited until it was time to sleep, it was as if mosquitoes were having their world carnival, never witnessed so much mosquitoes in my life, it was then that it occurred to me that the island being a riverine area, Is a den of all species of quitos.
Fast forward to when I visited the gym because I see the gym as a place for quick socializing in a new environment. Boom I entered the gym and I got the shock of my life, it was as if I landed mysteriously in the giant land, I used to think I was huge and muscular until I got to this gym and I was looking like a toothpick among the hundreds of people their. As I was observing this and also observing the most spotless and cleanest babes have ever encountered in my life , I didn't know I was about to face one of the biggest embarrassment of my life. I descended upon the automatic threadmill which have never used in my life. Due the fact that I was among beautiful ladies I didn't want to look like jjc so I didn't ask for help on how to use the machine, that's how I roughly pressed some figures on the threadmill not knowing I put it on the highest. That's how it started spinning like usain bolt was running hundred meters Olympics. Gbiim!!! Na so I fall yakata ooo. Come see laughter for gym. I come be like Sanyeri or Mr ibu goes to gym chai. Another beautiful experience was when a record label boss invited me to his label house in VGC. What I saw was a delight to the nudity of my eyes. What really wowed me was when I wanted to enter their street, the man sent me a pin and I wondered what it was for until I saw the gate and it had a system you need to press pin inside. I visited Alot of exotic places got some nice clothes so as to change my ijebu looks to the modern Lagos looks. This seems to be an expensive lifestyle and it's putting a hole in my finances but for the first time in a while as an ijebu man I didn't feel bad about spending my hard earned money. We can die anytime and what's the essence of having a bulging account without having access to the sweetest things life has to offer.
In conclusion the steps I took just justified the popular saying that there is a thing line between being Genius and being STUPID!!!. I left a promising job as a graphics designer (I still work as a freelancer with a couple of companies and individuals) with a large chunk of savings that could have been used for other investments, to pursue a music career. But then I won't forgive myself if I lived a normal comfortable life and then I die only to realize my music could have been a blessing to millions of souls on planet Earth and I could have touched lives everywhere.
All I have to say is life has not gotten any longer infact if it has gotten anything it will be shorter due to the insecurities all over. My advice is to make every moment count and enjoy it while we can.

1. AUTOMATIC WINDOWS UPDATE (FIXED ON CREATORS EDITION) This, obviously tops the list of "Reasons why you should not upgrade to Windows 10 yet" found on many websites. Here is the way around to turn it off. (Only problem is this does not work on the Home edition but every other edition works fine). I'll edit to add trick for Home edition users later
To turn off automatic updates; press Windows Key + R, type "gpedit.msc" and press enter, Navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update. The problem is that cortana searches for contents only on the drive you installed Windows which is usually C: drive. People with a single partition will not notice this problem but it's a sure nightmare for guys with double or multiple partitions like myself knowing that I can't see a file am looking for in drive D: How to solve this; Go to Control panel (right click on windows Icon) -- Indexing Options -- modify -- [select drive(s) you want cortana to search] -- OK If the drive has already been index before then select it from the lower pane, click OK-- Advanced -- Rebuild Then wait for it to index the files in the drive. When it's finished, Cortana can now see them
3. DEFAULT SEARCH ENGINE IN EDGE BROWSER With the new Windows, Microsoft debuted their all new browser named Edge. I used to be a fan of Firefox but after this upgrade I couldn't get enough of Microsoft Edge. There are a lot of new features you'll really enjoy in this browser but the only con is the default search engine which is Bing (since a lot of us are happier with Google). Here's how to change it to Google. Just click on Windows Icon and in the start screen, click on settings then update and security and click on recovery on the left pane. 5. CORTANA SEARCH BAR ON THE TASKBAR This is one of the first things you notice immediately after upgrading to Windows 10. The cortana search bar being in the Taskbar may be cool for some but to others, unnecessary. Here's a short way to hide it or turn it to Cortana icon. Right click on the bar and select "search" (if you've activated cortana, you'll see cortana instead of search) then from the sub menu click "Show search as icon" or "hidden".
6. DISPLAY DRIVER PROBLEM (SCREEN BRIGHTNESS NOT WORKING OR SLEEP MODE MISSING) This problem occurs because during the update, Microsoft uninstalls your display driver and installs the basic display adapter for you.
The solution is to install your display driver back. You can do this by either 1. Checking for Windows update and updating your system 2. Go to device manager and right click on display driver and update using internet 3. Download driver pack solution or any driver installation software
7. BATTERY DISCHARGING VERY FAST (FIXED. ONLY FIRST GEN PROCESSORS ARE AFFECTED) Sadly this has not fully been resolved but Microsoft and Intel are continuously working on it. It has been restored on some processors so keep updating your windows, yours might be next.

This will be a lengthy one but I promise to summarize it as much as I can.
I met a lady in her late 30s 18months ago through an online friend. I was working in Lagos while she was based and working in Abuja.
We chatted for a while before she volunteered to come to Lagos for a visit over the weekend which doesn't seem a bad idea to me cos I believed seeing in person is better than 1 million pictures.
Due to her age and desperation, we met and she liked what she saw in me and intensive talks began on how I can relocate to Abuja and get better job. I actually haven't been to Abuja so I was excited to take that move with the hope of becoming a better person and getting a better job.
I resigned from my job due to some issues as at that time which could had been managed but so I can have more time to visit and see how things are in Abuja before making my final preparation to relocate. She supports financially during those time while I use my car for ehailing business pending when I will finally relocate.
Covid 19 lock down came and all plans were halted due to restrictions on vehicular movements. Fast forward to November last year I made final plans and I agreed to finally relocate but on the conditions that we will need to get a new apartment cos I don't want to move in with her to her former apartment which was a one room self contain, we got a 1 bedroom apartment and I moved in with her. She owns 90% stake on the expenses incurred but in the spirit of hope for a better job, I will upgrade the apartment to have an equal stake in the home.
It's been 3 months now I have fully relocated and we have been cohabiting but it's been hell for me and I just need help on how to get out of this mess I put myself. No job was forth coming and due to the fact that I am home always, I have been reduced to a house help cos I am the one doing the chores, cleaning the dishes and even my laundry though she pays for her own, so many other insults and atimes it's with exchanges of words before I can take a walk just to acclimatize myself with the terrains of the area.

My family lives in Ibadan and I live in Lagos and I must confess that it is such a struggle to pay their bills while working in Lagos here. I am the first child so I have to send my family money every month, and my siblings every week.
My family DSTV bill is also something I have to do monthly while I also ensure that all my siblings get airtime on their phone every week. It is such a traumatic experience when I remember that as I am planning all this small small money that when you calculate it, it becomes big money, I have to also plan bank charges inside of it as well. I moved out of the house at a point to make ends meet as the first son of the family especially as my parents are getting old and I’m their only source of livelihood as it is right now, some people say you do not owe your parents anything but well, I do not believe in this and I take care of my parents and see it as my duty and what I owe to them to do.
Schools have resumed, Nishola, my sister needs to go back and would need fees and other miscellaneous expenses. Femi my brother is preparing for his WAEC to enable him get into the university. My parents of course have medical bills to be sorted as well every month.

These boys are a complete nuisance since they moved into the area. They have no respect for those living around.
They are always packing their Cars infront of my gate purposely to block me from coming out of my house. They make a hell of Noise. They behave like complete Touts and Agberos. You can't even have a reasonable conversation with them. (So nobody should suggest that) All they know is how to on generator from morning till night. They live in a Flat where they pay about N400k and above. The Landlord doesn't live there. When they throw party, it is the worst. They will block the entire frontage with their numerous cars leaving no place to pass.
In fact they are a complete nuisance. I dislike them with passion.
I mind my business in the area 100%. If i look at u and u dont look reasonable or behave well, I avoid u.
If they can mind their own business without infringing on other people's right, we won't have a problem at all.
