@cucumba did you go through phone interview
No phone interview.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by cucumbar:
I just got a ups mail today and visit visa wasn’t given. Reasons:
1. insufficient funds to embark on trip( had about 1.460m in the account with very healthy transaction flow)

2. Bank Statement transactions lacks credibility (wonder what they mean by that)

I was told I could appeal within 10 working days. Do I appeal or apply again later? If so, how long do I wait before I re-apply?

Is there anyone that was denied on these grounds and later issued a visa on subsequent applications?

Lagos. Self Application. VIP

However, from what I was told at VFS during my application, there are 3 priority types (with 3 different colours put in your application bag by the VFS officers when processing). One is for employees of some specified corporates, another is for applicants with previous SA visas, while the 3rd is for those not in any of those categories. The first category is the fastest, followed by the 2nd and then the last.
This impacts application timelines as well.
wow! I applied a day after you. VIP as well, I’ve not heard from them yet. Was expecting mine within two weeks o. angry

There was no need changing my dollars... I used my Master card to withdrawal rand and also used it at most pos there was no need carrying cash
what was the exchange rate like?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by cucumbar: 10:22pm On May 12, 2019
mroyato:
If you have a MasterCard you are fine but you may have to inform your bank about it. It's way cheaper for you. Most Banks charge less than 26 naira to a rand whereas it goes for about 30naira if you want to exchange at bureau de change. However as a back up you can hold about 2000rands in cash. You will find a lot of places at the airport to change your money.
you mean if you use your naira card on an ATM in south Africa?

You are very correct, am in cape town,I didn't have any issue with immigration or at the POE cos I had a paid booking, the guys from Nigeria refused the hotel confirmation saying it not a paid confirmation, I had to go print out the payment receipt my bank sent to my mail before he agreed that it a paid accommodation. So I just included it in my passports and give it to any one that requested for my passports like that I didn't have to talk to much
do they check if you have booked for accommodation at Nigerian airport?

How is cape town? Gist us abeg. Na there I wan visit too.

I plan to book multiple destinations with Kenya airways, spend like 4 days in Nairobi, before I enter South Africa. Will this be a problem at the point of entry in South Africa?
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by cucumbar: 3:20pm On Apr 29, 2019
This vsf people keep sending me emails and text messages since I submitted on Thursday:

Your documents have been submitted to SA high commissions on...

Your visa application is under processing....

My mind keeps missing a beat each time I receive their email and text messages.

Let the visa just come abeg, and let it come quickly.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by cucumbar: 1:12pm On Apr 28, 2019
I want to apply for a tourist visa to the UK. I don’t know anyone there, so I will be lodging in a hotel. I am not married yet, work in a reputable firm, and I have enough funds to sponsor my trip.
What are my chances of getting a visa? Will they be asking for ties to Nigeria and all that?

This is the response I got from VFS after mailing to inquire about my application;

"Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for the mail,
Kindly be informed that Our record shows that your Passport was ready and has been collected.

Best Regards"

Meanwhile, I paid for courier service and I've neither been called nor mailed regarding my application delivery. It's 10 weeks and 2 days now. What should I do next please?

As far as I am concerned you are the kid here

You once said my questions are boring, people I asked didn't complain

You know how to criticize someone what have you contributed to this thread ?

You sit down there and look for someone to pour out your anger on

I am disappointed in your attitude because everybody in this thread are matured with good attitude unlike you

Take it easy as life is easy
don’t mind him. He responded to my enquiries when he could have jump and pass.I ignored him and was thanking someone that was more helpful. I didn’t call his name in my response to the other person, yet he quoted me and was saying rubbish. He is more intelligent than every other person on the thread.

From your comments I can deduce you are a kid, there is no point joining issues with you.
common get lost and stop quoting me. You haven’t been of any help, so what are you on about? Are you pained that a human being addressed my concerns? Please look for the next person to pour your frustrations on. Leave this ‘kid’ alone.

What is wrong with advising you to read through the thread? People like you just like the easy way out and usually end up making mistakes and spending money unnecessarily. This thread is very rich with all the valuable information one needs to submit application successfully.Booking hotel and flight are very easy, if you read through the thread you will know how to go about them. Any serious individual should be willing to read through and learn.
lol! I never called your name or quoted you nau.You don’t have to respond to ‘unserious individual ‘ you should have simply ignored my questions and move on,let other people who are willing to respond do so. ITK.

You may find the following tips useful for your questions.

1. Regular visa application fee is 32710. If you choose to do the VIP application then you pay an extra 10k meaning you have to pay 42710. If you require the services of a courier company to deliver your passport when it is ready you pay an extra 3k.

2. Those guys are not thugs. They are hustlers trying to make ends meet. That's their office. That's what they do for a living. They are there to help you.
To answer your question, yes they can make hotel and flight reservations for you at a token. You can also choose to make the reservations for yourself if you know how to.

There are some shops very close to the vfs centre. You will find a lot of people doing photocopy and all there. Enter any of those shops and tell them what you want. Don't ask any of the guys standing on the road.

3. Yes you can make reservations on the day you are submitting but the reservations must carry the dates of your intended travel and return.

4. Once you get a visa to South Africa, you can visit any state of your choice within South Africa.

5. I cannot say for sure whether VIP application makes the visa processing faster but one thing that is certain is that it will save your time with a lot of comfort.

6. You need to make your application air tight. Go with all the necessary documents and make sure they are genuine. If you are sponsoring yourself make sure your statement of account is healthy. Write a decent self introductory letter and get a letter of introduction from your employer. Lastly, the God factor is important too.

Kind Regards.
thank you boss you are too much I appreciate. Some others will ask me to read the thread from the beginning but you took your time to respond.thanx boss.

Please, I intend to submit my application this week and would like to make some enquiries:
1. how much is the visa application fee?

2.Will those ‘thugs’ at the vsf assist me in applying (for a fee of course)I.e, making reservations for airline and hotels before I submit my application? I’m at lost on how to go about this, seeing that this is my first time.

3. If so, can I make reservation the same day I’m submitting my form?

4.If I choose to visit, Capetown in my application, can I decide to go to some other city when I travel, or I am stuck with Capetown?

5. Someone talked about VIP services for faster processing. Is it real? Would like to use them if they won’t just eat my money.

6. Are there other things I need to know? I’m already seeing my self in SA for 10 days, and won’t want anything to jeopardize my application.

Thank you all.

Mpanyi:
I may like to cheap in a thing or two. Jesus Christ born of Mary was full God and man. Jesus never stopped being God at any point in time. Your confusion must be 'how could human being give birth to the same God that created him?' It's a mystery. You can only find out from God. Your question or confusion resembles that of the Jews who thought Jesus was committing blasphemy by saying he is son God because they can't understand how God could have a son. Another mystery. You said God is omnipresent and we should come to him directly. And you are not wrong. But why do we need our pastors (church) to pray for us? Paul pray many times for his followers. I don't relly understand the fuss about asking for Mary's and the saints' help in prayer. Does the bible say is wrong? No. Bible may not have expressly said we should be doing it, just as many other good things we are doing today, which never expressly told us to do. We should understand a child of God never. We commune and interact with transited brethren in worship of God as if they are still here. Our God is never God of the dead. Let me stop here for now

They say its express, thats what my colleagues in the office called it. Its like 12k, but i did not do it. Those that did it already have their Visas. I know of some on social media.... I saw those guys the day they came to apply and by following week they were in Guateng, SA.
please, do you have the contact of anyone that can facilitate the VIP stuff?

Durban is a nice city as well. It is similar to cape town in that it has beaches and nice tourist areas as well but the vibe is different from cape town.

The drive to Durban from Johannesburg is very nice and you can stop bye to admire the beautiful mountains. You will enjoy Durban. The Night life is also very nice. Na dem get music for SA. just stay away from "location" and you will be fine.
I thank you. I was thinking of killing two birds with one stone, I.e, staying for a 5 days in Durban and 5 days in Johannesburg since they are closer compared to Capetown. How about that? Does jo’burg have tourist sites as well?
