I was equally curious about the report. I understand that the Chinks bought a used Russian carrier a while ago which they refurbished. Further reports suggested that they had to dock the tub when it started smoking (quite embarrassing) during maneuvers. I am curious about if they have now achieved full functionality with the said craft.

Every week, there's at least two tse-tse fly casualties.

We can't even claim that these are fake news reported by people who wants to see Nigeria divided.

Let's look at the facts:

1. 80% of boko haram members are Fulanis (we all know boko haram is hardly religious. these are bloodthirsty demons)

2. Fulani Herdsmen kill anything int heir path.

Soldiers are staying quiet because more than 50% of them are from the North. Our police officers are just incompetent and weak.

Who is going to do something about this societal menace?
FACT: Boko Haram are mainly Kanuri not Fulani.

Please stop disturbing the beautiful harmony and peace in our beloved "one Nigeria" with all this hate mongering. You've been listening to that Nnamdi Kanu again.

Does Buhari determine the oil price in the international market?

Has any govt in the world ever defeated terrorism yet?

Have you considered how GEJ's ministers handled the hand-over exercise with regards to federal ministries bearing in mind that things ought to be in order for the in-coming ministers while they are being vetted.

Does Buhari have control over foreign exchange market or the $$$$$ ?

Buhari indeed fenced Oshinbajo during the security meeting & opinions were of common knowledge that PMB feared that Oshinbajo could be a security risk because Oshinbajo could relate details of meeting to his masters in lagos.

Most of the city centers are like this, it's usually bad neighborhoods that will have overhead lights because they're a thing of the past.
If you think about the fact that Imo state is half the size of Houston Texas, it's very possible in a city like Owerri alone, even statewide if we're willing to think big.

They're cheaper, need less maintenance, are less susceptible to damage, and are protected from weather elements.
Thanks. Isn't it interesting that we seem to be going backwards in Nigeria rather than forward. I was shocked to learn a few years ago (while observing an ongoing road works excavation) that Eastern Nigeria had an underground electricity distribution system in the pre-civil war days.

@op Mr Manchy7531,

You missed the bigger point of the articles. I don't think it's a question of Igbo being intellectually superior, it's a rebuttal of the genetic basis for IQ score differences between the "races" propounded by certain Eurocentric scientists to explain both the lower levels of socio-economic development in Africa and the persistent relatively lower levels of socio-economic achievements especially among African Americans. The articles make a case for the environmental basis for IQ score differentials.

Are you now diverted from the fact that the Bible says people should be killed if they dont worship God of isreal that they shall be put to death. No one in Nigeria says any other law is above the constitution. Your emotional outbursts blinds you more grin

Go to Israel and try bullshit. grin you will know wassup.

The issue is you guys are sick on hypocrisy and hate.

Now you're quick to say you're not a Jew so interesting.
. Christians all around the world follows the bible. Mind you. It is not limited to Nigeria. If Nigeria doesn't support it other countries do! You follow the bible both Jews and christians hehe but due to hypocrisy you'll say that's for Moses and the Jews this part is for jesus and we xtians. That Bible contains innumerable verses of violences and crazy laws including that of apostacy, beheading, stoning to death etc Now before you shout again that you're a xtian. Jesus confirmed those laws

Matthew 5:17-- "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Jesus whom your Christianity is based on confirmed the Mosaic/Moses laws but u the afternoon moonlight Christian rejxted it by saying you're a xtian grin mumu fellow grin
Mind you.

And jesus himself did something similar

Luke 19:27 -- But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.

See beyond hate you idiot. If jesus was that holy why would he order innocents to be killed in front of him because they dont want him as king huh

Gerrahrah here Goat grin

You're just hating..
Sleeping is better.
You need to take course in Logic and Clear Thought. Firstly, Senator Yerima of Zamfara State said that the Koran is superior to the constition.

Secondly, you are amateurishly creating a strawman called a typical Christian to attack. If you want to create your own arguments, good for you. However, where the bleeping hell did I claim to be a Christian? You just wasted valuable time arguing with yourself. You well so?

Kindly explain this to me
2 Chronicles 15:13-- All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman

Or even this?

1 Samuel 15:3 -- Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.'"
Why are those quotes relevant? Does any state in Nigeria practice Mosaic law? Or did any Senator in Nigeria say that the Torah is superior to the constitution?

In case any case I'm not a Jew. You should find a patient Rabbi to explain those passages to you not asking a humble African to explain lunacy.

PoliticsRe: An Open Appeal To All Tribal Bigots On Nairaland by Curlieweed: 11:22pm On Sep 16, 2015
@op Mr Lezz,

The main planks of your argument for the continuation of this abominable zombie empire are that; a) Igbos are bound to people in the NC and the SS while the Yoruba have ancestral linkages with people in the NC and SS b) Some fantasies about a possibly glorious future.

Regarding the first point, while you remember that ethnic groups within nigeria are linked with their neighbours, you conveniently forget that 70% of Niger Republic is ethnically Hausa. The Fulani exist in almost all west African countries from Cameroon to Senegal. You can also get bye speaking Egun and Yoruba from Badagry right up to the borders of Togo with Ghana.

Regarding your fantasies of an "African Super Power", you should perish that thought. I don't think we have 50% of the resources available in Congo DRC. It is said that just one dam on one River in Congo has the potential to provide 40,000 MW of electricity but notwithstanding that the vast majority of people in that place have no access to electricity. Additionally, the country is sitting on a veritable treasure trove of strategic minerals. Yet most of the residents are desperately poor. It suffers from a somewhat more acute flavour of the same systemic virus we suffer in Nigeria.

As a much younger person, I was also infinitely proud of our potentials, happy to interact with the rich diversity of people from accross the country and revel in the rich diversity of our geography, cultures and languages. I also lamented about how our apparent lack of progress was due to our bad luck with leadership.

However as I got older (and possibly wiser), I started questioning my assumptions. if you continue selecting black beads from a closed bag of beads, after selecting 10 black beads in succession, you may be right to conclude that most of the beads in that bag are black. Like Warren Buffet said, when a great manager takes on a fundamentally bad business, the manager loses his reputation while the business keeps its bad reputation intact. That is the case with Nigeria. You can confidently predict the failure of every national government in Nigeria as currently constituted and you will be right 95% of the time.

Our country is fundamentally flawed at its very core. You can't have a successful organization without a single sense of self or single vision or culture. Every successful organization on earth has a dominant culture, a dominant vision. An organism with two (or more)heads isn't likely to be viable. What is the Nigerian dream? What is the single Nigerian culture? What is the dominant set of values that we share? We aren't talking about random interactions here. We have Igbo, Yoruba, Northen Muslim, SS, Ijaw or Middle-belt versions of culture, vision and values. There are no Nigerian equivalent of these and that it's why most discussions on these boards are little more than arguments between the deaf.

To make matters even worse, the actual mental image Nigerians carry of the country differs from the artificial 36 states (plus Abuja) we have in our fake constitution. As far as most people are concerned we have 200 nations here and each nation has defined geographical boundaries. That is why we have indigenes, settlers, hosts and a number of interesting terms. We have Igboland, Yorubaland, Ijawland, Hausaland, Tivland and so on. While these may not exist in your constitution, they are more real than even your Nigeria itself.

That is true. But curiously, i recollected that Dr Ango Abdullahi advocated the seperation of the country, didn't he ?
Given the fact that he is an influential figure in the north, would it be out of place to assume his statement was a feelers of underground mainstream thinking ?

As for Buhari, i consider him inconsequential if one or more segments of the country is about to get the UN involved. Pressing the right diplomatic buttons is all it takes to do that.
I don't really know what motivated Ango Abdullahi's comment but I suspect it was frustration at apparent waning of the Arewa strangle hold on political power. Things have now changed and we again have a resurgent Arewa leadership.

If you think about it strategically, as far as the Arewa elite class maintains a firm grip at the centre, there is absolutely no motivation to change the status quo. In realpolitik you can't get far by appealing to your opponents kind heart. The best situation would've been one where they are out of power at the centre long enough to agree to some basic restructuring. With Mumuharri in power, that particular ship has sailed and more desperate options need to be explored.

I share your perception on the need for this country to seperate but i believe that doing so peacefully will augur well for everybody. Honestly speaking, there is no region of this country, east, west or north, that
cannot sustain itself in the event of seperation.

I recollected Gowon saying that the basis for nigeria unity did not exist at all but why he failed to act appropriately beats me hollow.

Especially with Awolowo's steadfast emphasis on the fact nigeria was merely a geographical expression, meaning that its unity wasn't sustainable.
It was unfortunate that the yoruba
were virtually non-existent in the army during the crisis because our people saw the profession and the police as belonging to the low life so it was generally discouraged by most families. However, it served as a
terrible setback for us because otherwise, we were convinced that Awolowo and our leaders would've taken the SW out of Nigeria.

When Awolowo gave the FG ultimatum to withdraw northern soldiers from the SW that his people saw them as an army of occupation and the call was immediately heeded,
a staggering reality followed - that yoruba footsoldiers were so scanty that we had'nt sufficient number to even man our porous borders talkless of defending the land. I remembered my uncle who told us this weeping like a child on his return from an

elders' meeting saying the statistic was the reason the SW could not attempt a breakaway because the british and some powerful countries were solidly behind the north and that strangely, they seemed to hate the
idea of Awolowo leading a seperate country out of nigeria. So the conclusion reached at the meetings was that an attempt might be suicidal.

Thanks for your apology about the Ebute Metta bombing. Is it not ironic that you even lived in the area too ?
Actually, i would've been a victim but still pertially one.
I lost a very close friend; both of us were cinema addicts. On that
particular night, we planned to go but it so happened that an elderly neighbour of mine, a man we knew as Ibo ( kobokobo) as we new them, but wether he was from the core east or mid-west, we could'nt say, advised me to shelve my going because i suddenly developed a runing
stomach. This man had a hotel (Right Time Hotel) almost opposite my residence. The bus stop was directly in front of this hotel, so while i wai
ted for my friend to join me at the bus stop, i decided to ask this hotel
proprietor ( he was one of numerous ibos that refused to heed the call to return home) what i could use to suppress the stooling but he told me to shelve my going if i didn't want to make myself a nuisance to other
viewers by patronising the toilet constantly coupled with the fact that i would not even enjoy the film anyway. I decided to heed his advice but my friend decided to go all the same and that was how i lost him. He died later to a fatal injury.
Call it fate.

Since we both experienced a failed attempt at seperation, i pray that the Lord grant us the uncommon grace to witness a peacefully successful dissolution of the discordant and incompatible union.
Thanks for the post. A lot of people have now come to doubt the possibility of a peaceful restructuring of this country. The inflexible stance adopted by the Arewa representatives at the last national conference and Mumuharri's off hand dismissal of the results have erased any doubt in the mind of most reasonable people that a peaceful solution to our structural problem will be feasible.

PoliticsRe: Ogoni People Pledges Support For Biafra, Seeks Forgiveness From The Igbos. by Curlieweed: 9:13pm On Sep 11, 2015
I don't understand the point of this apology. I don't believe that the Ogoni (collectively) have wronged the Igbo in any way that requires an apology. There was widespread support for Biafra in Ogoni land as was the case in most of the Eastern region. There were also some elements that didn't share the Biafran dream and saw the Federal occupiers as liberators. This was by no means restricted to Ogoni land.

It is note worthy to mention here that the Ogoni 4 allegedly murdered at the orders of Saro-Wiwa represented the pro-Biafra group while Saro-Wiwa was ironically a "one" Nigerian. It is thought that long standing mutual animosity between Saro-Wiwa and this group (probably dating from the civil war days) ultimately resulted in the gruesome lynching of the pro- Biafrans.

I especially like the part of 2yrs compulsory millitary service for every Biafran and after the Millitary service the soldier can go home with their arms.

thats how to guarantee defence from external agression like is done in switzerland.

It is said that this is the reason why Germany or France refused to invade switzerland during the world war cos the entire population of switzerland is heavily armed.

This is also the same reason America is very powerful and why any Saudi Attempt to Invade yemen will be suicide.

Cos the large part of yemenis are heavily armed
Great insight. The right to bear arms should be an important component of a documented Biafran Bill of Rights and Freedoms.

It is not coincidental that at the beginning of the British occupation of our motherland, the colonial invaders had a ritual of seizing and destroying every available firearm in every community they "pacified". The Nigerian zombie empire has continued this practice of denying the citizenry the god given right to defend themselves.

This is notwithstanding the fact the current police force is ill-trained, ill equipped and unmotivated to secure the populace in anyway . You may hear spurious reasons for continuing this odious practice, ranging from public safety to security. The real reason is that the state doesn't want an armed populace because such citizens will challenge the glaringly basic illegitimacy of the this colonial prison camp.

The armed forces and the police were designed by the British as forces of occupation to cow the population rather than as agents for the security of the masses. Successive Nigerian neocolonialists have kept this structure in place to ensure the exploitation of the indigenous peoples of this land. In a free society, the leadership should be afraid of the people and not the other way round. That is why an armed population is the best guarantee for liberty.
