For the the Opobo man, Bonny is our ancestral home and no place else. We are Ibanis and bear Ibani/Ijaw names. there is nothing in me that shows I am Ibo. so pls continue with ur IPOB agitation I pray it comes through, but I'll not be blackmailed into being part of Biafra.
You're clearly mistaking me for someone else. In my comment I clearly stated that the indigenes of each community should be allowed to state what they are. I really don't give a flying fckk one way or the other. If you read my posts, you will see that I am not in support of a Biafra 2,0 that includes even one non-affirming Igbo sub-ethnic group. In fact I stated that I will stand with the "one" Nigeria proponents and fight such a monster.

The issue is that many Igbos were staking their integrity just to show love to their so called brother but the pay back is attempting to claim Igbo territory. I will soon reveal how these senseless people still live in 1940 Igbo abandoned properties shamelessly. The worst is that the land belongs to Ikwerres but was sacrificed on the altar of Rivers unity.
If you Ikwerre folks want to fight your Okrika Ijaw brothers then stop involving Igbos in your family issues. We lost some houses but we have moved on and built new ones.

You guys should please free TonyeBarcanista. He hasn't said anything wrong to Igbos that I have seen. " Igboids" like Truckpusher and HopeAthand have said horrible stuff about us but I don't see all these endless threads attacking them.

Opobo and Bonny are Ijaws and cannot be Igbo land. Never.
I don't want to even talk about this any further cos I see that yu Biafran/Igbo peeps won't stop with this delusion of urs.

I'm an Ijaw and frm Opobo/Bonny, I don't think their is any name in ma community or tradition that resembles that of the Igbo. The only thing I can think of is marriage between both tribes/region.

I say again, Opobo Town and Bonny are Ijaws and not Ibos.
Charles (Charlie Boy) Oputa is from Oguta in IMO State. Is he Ijaw or Igbo? After you've answered that question, do a Facebook search with the name Oputa. You will discover that the majority of people with that name are from Bayelsa.

The question of ethnic identity is a bit more complex than some of you simplistically put it. Some communities may have people with diverse origins as inhabitants. I will rather go with what the inhabitants choose to call themselves than the opinion of outsiders.

Your attempt at concatenating Opobo with Bonny is misleading. Opobo and Bonny were not even in the same province before the creation of Rivers State. Opobo lands were acquired from the Obolo and belong to himself and his descendants.

We treat them how they treat us, we start earning some respect from them. It's as simple as that.
Most of the time I usually insist that Ikwerre isn't Igbo but sometimes even I get confused. Did you notice that the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Rivers is an Ikwerre man from Isiokpo called Igo Okparamma?

The thing is confusing but it's not our concern. They should sort themselves out.

Truckpusher:
Mention the Igbo communities that are carved out and included into the SS please.
You claim to come from Rivers state and you don't know that Egbema (a single community) for example is divided between IMO and Rivers? Apparently, according to your strange theory, the Egbemas in IMO are Igbo while those in Rivers are now non-Igbo.

You also don't know that the Ndokis straddle Abia and Rivers states? The Ndokis in Obigbo are non Igbos while the ones in Asa and Azumini are Igbos. You claim to come from Ogba but you don't know that the Ndoni (that you shared an LGA with) are kin with the Ogbarus in Anambra State? Ogbarus are Igbo but the Ndoni are non Igbo.

I don't have any problem with anyone claiming to have dropped from Mars but it's better you restrict any ridiculous claims to your own people and stop distorting other people's hard earned identity with ludicrous statements.

According to you they both slept with Portuguese men in line of trading with them.
Some Portuguese were actually granted dukedoms by the Oba. They settled in those dukedoms and raised families which might explain the throwbacks you're seeing. I remember going to high school with an Esan guy with green eyes.

You don't understand the mindset of those people. Nothing the Igbo man do will ever seem right to them.

I personally don't fancy PH, the city is over rated.

But know this, if you concede PH to those people, they will still find away to assign connotations to your act of leaving PH for them. They will make up crazy dumbfounding negative stories as to why you surrendered the city to them, and they will keep repeating their made up stories to each other, until even they come to hold those lies as the absolute and sacrosanct truth, a form of group plagued Pseudologia fantastica.

They will question your motives, assign negative motives to your very act of leaving the city , and then heighten their suspicion of you more, and when your guard are down, they will still sell you out.

They will be like: " for this people to leave this city they cherish this much to us, they must have a back up evil plan in the background waiting to use against us".

Their Igbophobia is incurable, and it's a waste of time trying to cure them of it. They are simply irredeemable.
I read with amusement TonyeBarcanista and Truckpusher's comments deriding IPOB for demonstrating in PH . Barcanista even queried the demonstrators for referring to PH by its original Ikwerre name (not entirely surprising because the struggle between the Ijaw okrikans and their Ikwerre "brothers" for the ownership of PH is an ongoing one). It was amusing because the aforementioned duo are also advocates of an unobtainable phantasy called SE/SS "unity". It's interesting that while these advocates of unity didn't complain about similar demonstrations in Enugu, Aba and Onitsha the one in PH was deemed insulting.

Make no mistake about it, their views are very typical and the actual reasons for them very complex. The SS is a very complex area and whatever advantages it's resources may confer to a future state will be negated by its diversity and the huge potential for fruitless atomistic conflict. This is why I have always maintained that it would be a monumental error of judgement to include a single non-affirming Igbo ethnic group in a proposed Biafra. I have gone further to say that I will rather support the abomination called "one" Nigeria than support a future Biafra with a single non-Igbo sub-nation. We should just work to maintain good neighbourliness with these folks like our forebears did and avoid any attempt to recreate a future mini-Nigeria after wasting a lot of blood and tears.

And yet Igbo societies offered more opposition to colonialism than the mushroom empire called Bini empire you are suffering hard to link with.

Igbo ukwu and Nri arts were also more sophisticated than any your mushroom empires that crumbled easily before the Caucasians.

What is civilization without contribution to human knowledge base? What did your mushroom empires contributed to human knowledge base? You call a bunch of black savages running around the bushes of tropical west Africa looking for weaker African groups to subjugate empire and civilization? Empire of mudhouses. Lol!

I now see and know why your inferiority plaqued Eze Ogba will be rolling before Oba Bini and even went ahead to change the title of his throne from Eze to Oba, he simply was incapable of independent thought process.
I always find these denigrations of our history amusing because they're borne out of crass ignorance.

The archeological evidence indicates the following;

a) Earliest evidence of bronze smithing in West Africa.

b) One of the earliest evidence of iron smelting of the planet (Opi, Obimo and Lejja)

c) Earliest surviving textiles fragments in the West African forest region.

What more could our ancestors have achieved!

It's interesting to note the that the democratic, humanistic, participatory political system so derided by detractors is exactly where the rest of the planet is going.

carnegiefan:
You are mixing things up, quite frankly. The Swiss are far less populated than Biafra. The entire Biafran military reserve force will almost equal the total population of Switzerland, about 8 million.
Biafran standing force (the ready to go force) should be small say 50,000 -100,000 highly trained, heavily armed force.
That force, my friend, will be so well trained and so well equipped that it can stop an invading force ten times its size.
The job of keeping Biafra free will first fall on the shoulders of the military, and then the reserve force.
Ordinary citizens have no business carrying firearms around. Beat cops should work in packs to arrest errant citizens and diffuse potential incendiary situations.
If we want true peace and security, we should keep guns away from our civil life, and work hard to build families up, provide social safe nets, and reform criminals.
First of all, I will confess my biases here. I come from a gun loving culture where acquiring a gun was an important rite of passage for every adult male. I am of the opinion that we need guns in private hands not only to defend our nation from foreign invaders but also defend the citizenry from aspiring tyrants. The government should be afraid of the people.
PoliticsRe: Biafra Will Be Totally Different From Nigeria. Here's How! by Curlieweed: 2:10pm On Oct 14, 2015
carnegiefan:
That is my candid hope bro. I would still welcome more input because believe me for Biafra to be better than Nigeria ideas (no matter how banal it may seem) coming from ordinary folks -common man- is what will do the trick.
Nigeria is a product of a strict TOP-DOWN system, that is why disabled people are fkked in Nigeria. No help whatsoever.
When ordinary people come together to say what they want, the product is an instant leap-frog into first world status.
That is why western countries developed before all other countries on earth.
Good point. I suggest that we can use technology to implement the kind of direct democracy our ancestors practiced in a future Biafran state. I have always wondered why only representatives (members of parliament) can propose and make laws. In the case of Nigeria, (since it's a fake nation anyway) the reps wisely make laws to give themselves more money and perks.

It should be possible for ordinary citizens to propose laws and get them adopted using available modern technology. For instance ATM machines are now fairly ubiquitous. We even use them to pay all kinds of bills. What stops us from issuing every Biafran ( 18+) with a biometric voting cum ID card that enables them using something as ubiquitous as ATM to take part in national decision making in much the same way that our ancestors practiced government?

Jakumo:
Hello Mr. Monogamy. Your clinically rendered projections of impending doom certainly do have an ominous ring, but to play devil's advocate and examine the on the other side of the coin for a moment, it is patently obvious that virtually ALL industrialized nations of Asia and Western Europe, along with The United States, and the often feuding sovereignties comprising the former Soviet union, are ALL, despite enormous political and ideological divides amongst each other, unified as one in their response of abject horror and revulsion over the serial massacres and mass executions perpetrated by ISIS.

That universally felt visceral outrage, over the sheer bestiality of Islamic terror, has in turn engendered a moral and humanitarian resolve by all but a tiny few nations comprising the world we occupy, the face off squarely against today's festering global peril, the so-called Islamic Front, and to comprehensively annihilate its capacity to field a viable military force ANYWHERE on Planet Earth.

Thus, for all the stern words of condemnation that have trailed Russia's military forays into Syria, chances are that behind the scenes, NATO leaders are offering quiet words of encouragement and praise to Russian President Putin for taking such a bold military stand against Islamic terror. As for the Chinese joining the fray and sending in jets to bombard Islamic terrorists, the same public finger-wagging will similarly be accompanied by secretly conveyed congratulations over the major butt-whopping being administered by the Chinese military, against enemies of the human race.

Rumours of the World's End are, thankfully once again, greatly exaggerated, to paraphrase an old saying.
Great insight. I think the Yanks are probably relieved at not having to deal with the catch 22 situation that Syria has become. They only have to express strong words of outrage to pacify the Saudis and their other Sunni client states in the gulf (who want to check Iranian and Shite influence) while they sit back and watch Putin take care of the camel fcukking terrorists. It couldn't be better.
